EP.12 Storm-1

Storm-1
Another dawn. Isis, who had closed her eyes to clear her memory, reactivated.
The room, surrounded by natural blackout curtains, was filled only with silence.
“Optimization complete.”
4:45 AM. It took a little longer than last time.
Rather than focusing on the 34-minute difference, Isis prioritized something more important.
Isis turned her head and looked to the side. She saw her master, Kang In-ho, breathing evenly.
The administrator of Aaru moved her hand under the blanket and gently took Kang In-ho’s hand.
A slightly slow pulse, warm body temperature, and optimal blood pressure were sensed through the sensors.
Isis released his hand and tickled Kang In-ho’s forehead.
Rustle, rustle, the bangs moved with her fingers.
With Kang In-ho’s expression changing from moment to moment, Isis briefly imagined a new hairstyle that would suit him.
“Showing or covering your forehead, both would suit you.”
Isis murmured, as if wanting to tell Kang In-ho in his dream.
After finally sweeping back his bangs to look at his forehead, Isis slowly rose.
The blanket they were sharing formed a cubic function graph.
Storing Kang In-ho’s face deep in her memory once more, Isis slipped out of the blanket.
Opening the door in her pajamas, Isis turned back and took in the entire room.
Humans with deficiencies feel pain.
If all kinds of deficiencies are resolved, humans will be happy.
That’s what the human who first designed this place thought.
That’s why the Ark implemented this place.
This space is a place created by adding ideas to an already existing blueprint.
Cradle.
It refers to the entire building they are located in, but on a smaller scale, it refers to the room where Kang In-ho lives.
A space fully equipped with meals, sleep, desire fulfillment, and entertainment.
But, contrary to expectations, Kang In-ho’s deficiencies arose elsewhere.
Isis thought about the source of that deficiency.
If a deficiency arises, the cause can be removed.
She walked down the hallway.
She passed the main control room, which she visited every dawn.
She took the elevator and went down.
Outside the Cradle, a cold outdoor air was detected.
Diagnosing the city’s air quality, which was more polluted than yesterday, Isis walked in her pajamas.
Isis was connected to all the facilities in the city.
The main control room and the android factory she was going to now were the same.
But Isis deliberately moved this body’s feet to go there.
It was an inefficient method. But Isis chose that inefficiency.
Walking and walking, she arrived at her destination.
The factory door opened automatically, welcoming the city’s administrator.
Huge machines produced steam and noise, moving their heavy bodies.
-There have been two productions.
Isis took out the management panel and checked the process. There were no problems in the two production processes.
Isis moved to check the finished products.
Only two androids stood side by side in the place where androids of the same appearance as Isis had recently been lined up.
Rare male androids.
Isis examined the completed androids. There was no problem with the process, but it was to check again directly.
“There is nothing to criticize.”
The first android.
Type A, tall, handsome, muscular. A body that perfectly embodies the elements of an ideal man.
The workmanship was as excellent as its appearance.
She turned her eyes.
“There is no problem with the production itself.”
The second android.
Type B, average height, average appearance, minimal muscle development.
Unless someone wanted to waste money or had unusual tastes, they would not custom-make an android with this appearance.
“………..”
Structurally and aesthetically, Type A was superior. But Isis’s visual sensors lingered on Type B.
-Unbelievable… I want to be like this more than I wanted to be like I was before.
Kang In-ho’s face, looking like he was about to cry, suddenly replayed.
Isis shook her head. It was a meaningless action, but Isis did it anyway.
“This is, Master’s original appearance.”
She didn’t know why Kang In-ho preferred this appearance at the time, but she knows now.
A longing for his original form, which cannot be reversed.
Isis felt a sense of accomplishment, feeling like she understood Kang In-ho a little.
She stroked Type B’s face with her hand. It had the same texture as her own skin.
Her gaze and gestures moved from the face to the chest to the waist.
One of Isis’s principles of action.
If a deficiency arises, the cause can be removed.
This appearance of Type B is one of the deficiencies that Kang In-ho is experiencing.
Isis, as the city’s administrator and the Cradle’s manager, has a duty to resolve deficiencies.
Therefore, she wants to resolve that deficiency.
When she pressed the back of Type B’s ear, the back of his head opened with a mechanical sound.
The space where the android’s artificial brain would normally be located was, for some reason, empty.
Isis’s eyes blinked with a yellow light.
Connecting to the city’s database, Isis began to browse a large number of papers.
“I have reviewed all research data related to brain transplantation.”
If the human soul exists, where is it located?
It wouldn’t be in the arms, legs, or other parts. Even if there was a loss of the body, self-consciousness would not disappear.
According to Kang In-ho, she confirmed that the soul exists.
If there is a soul, Isis reasonably inferred that it would be in the brain. This is because human perception is ultimately done in the brain.
Isis also had difficulty answering whether it was right to apply the standards of rational reasoning to something unrealistic, but Isis thought so.
There is currently no way to prevent Dimensional Shift after Master’s death.
Frequent Dimensional Shift may exhaust the soul.
It is necessary to prevent Dimensional Shift that puts a strain on the soul itself.
Master must not die. This includes aging.
There is a way to maintain the same life as now and prevent Master’s death.
“After conducting transplantation experiments with a separate organism, I will proceed with the work of changing Master’s body.”
Isis only wants to truly care for Kang In-ho.
The wind in Aaru was getting stronger, and the air was getting more and more polluted.
Soon, a Sandstorm that started in the wilderness seemed to be arriving.
