Each Person’s World: Maria Roen
The weight of the greatsword was considerable even for Solari, the Dimension Management God.
“Mortal Maria…!”
Unable to manifest her true form, Solari could only groan from Lumen’s body.
She marveled at the approaching axe blade.
‘You’ve grown stronger.’
Whether she was cleaved by the greatsword or her body was struck by her own axe… the death of a vessel meant nothing to Solari.
However, the sensation of the cold steel piercing her flesh and the unpleasant feeling of the body’s life extinguishing were not pleasant experiences, so Solari struggled to push the greatsword away.
Besides, she still had something to tell her.
‘If only I could manifest my wings.’
For a Dimension Management God to manifest their wings was to display their authority.
As a Dimension Management God with a noble soul, it was a kind of declaration of intent to use her power.
Therefore, for a Dimension Management God, the presence or absence of wings was a significant signal.
Maria, whom she had barely pushed away, surged forward again. Wielding the massive greatsword, she brought it down with the force of cleaving the earth itself.
The power behind the greatsword was too great to parry. Solari leaped to the side, and it was the right choice.
Bang!
A sound that seemed impossible to be made by a greatsword rang in her ears.
Without time to frown at the dust cloud rising before her, Solari rose to her feet and distanced herself from Maria.
Maria charged relentlessly like a wild boar with its tail on fire.
“Calm down!”
Solari, whose hands were dizzy from the relentless barrage, gradually stabilized her breathing and began to deflect Maria’s attacks.
Considering the achievements she had accomplished as a mortal before becoming a Dimension Management God, it was not a surprising result.
‘War Maiden, Solari.’
A village girl who took up an axe in the face of national crisis.
The sharp and heavy axe that had once severed the heads of invaders at the forefront of the battlefield now targeted Maria.
“Kuh.”
Maria, who had blocked the attack with the flat of the greatsword, was sent flying sideways.
The movement of the arm that had supported the blade became sluggish. Tomorrow, her arm would surely be swollen and impossible to move.
Of course, that was not a problem for Maria.
Extending her arm, which had already returned to normal, she aimed for Solari’s chin. An emotional attack attempt that abandoned the length advantage of the greatsword.
The War Maiden did not miss the opening.
“Hoo.”
Solari took a deep breath and hurled her axe forward, spinning like a pinwheel towards Maria.
Maria raised her sword against the axe flying towards her with bared fangs, and soon a heavy impact was transmitted through the sword to her body.
And then, a fierce fist struck her abdomen. Maria’s back bent into a ‘ㄱ’ shape.
Solari did not stop. Grabbing Maria’s head with both hands, she crushed Maria’s nose with her knee, and Maria fell backward.
Solari had overthrown her own follower. Not with sacred power, but with barbaric brawling…
“Mortal Maria. I will not forgive any more disrespect.Solari warned Maria, who was sprawled out in a ‘large’ shape, catching her breath.
‘Don’t get up. Maria. Please…’
She was a Dimension Management God who loved mortals like Nibir, whom she respected.
In particular, she had a greater affection for Maria, who had to live a harsh life for her plan.
But contrary to her affection, the rule was that a mortal who opposed a god must be punished.
The principle was divine punishment. To reveal the power of God and inflict pain on the mortal’s soul.
But Solari could not inflict divine punishment on her.
Maria Roen was a follower she cherished.
“Kuhhhhh…”
Maria made an animalistic sound and rose to her feet.
“Don’t get up, Maria.”
Solari whispered desperately. Sadly, there was no being higher than her in this dimension, and her desperate wish was shattered in vain.
Solari kicked Maria in the chest as she was halfway up.
Maria rolled backward, covered in dirt and dust.
“Why do you get up?”
Solari said to Maria.
“…Send me to Saint.”
Maria rose to her feet, using the greatsword she had been clutching in her hand even while being kicked as a staff.
Maria’s body, except for being covered in dust, was unharmed.
“What do you believe in that makes you so reckless? The miracle of healing? Is that what makes you like this?”
“…Send me to Saint.”
Maria swung the greatsword, and it naturally cleaved through the air.
White wings had spread on Solari’s back, who had already distanced herself far away.
The time of power had begun.
“Mortal Maria Roen. I will take back the miracle of healing that I gave you.”
A thin line appeared on Maria’s face, and blood began to seep out.
Strangely, the blood did not stop and began to drip onto the ground.
Maria brought her hand to the wound, experiencing an injury for the first time in a long time.
As if discovering a new stream, blood flowed over her hand.
“I will also take back the miracle of valor.”
The greatsword became heavy as lead. Maria barely managed to grip the greatsword with her remaining hand.
“These are all miracles I gave you. My weapons that I gave you to punish the rotten Order.”
Solari folded her wings and approached Maria.
Maria, standing still on the ground as if in great shock, was like a statue in a cathedral.
“So if you oppose me, I have no choice but to take back these miracles.”
Solari sincerely hoped that Maria would understand her warning, be satisfied with the current situation, and step back.
“Mortal Maria. Now there is nothing to protect you from death.”
She placed her hand above Maria’s bowed head.
“So please step back now. Leave your memories with him as cherished moments.”
She warned and worried.
“…Death.”
Maria’s voice was faintly heard.
“If I can’t meet Saint, dying might not be so bad.”
“…Maria?”
“Oh, Saint. Give me strength. Have mercy on me and give me the strength to overcome this hardship.”
Maria raised her head.
Her left eye, the blue and pure eye of Saint, was shining.
And her face was spotless, without a single wound.
“…What?!”
Solari exclaimed and tried to distance herself, but Maria’s hand, having finished healing, was faster.
Thud.
Maria’s left hand grabbed Solari’s arm.
And in her raised right hand was the greatsword.
“Why is the miracle…?”
Solari murmured blankly, feeling the trajectory of the greatsword that started at her neck and ended at her waist.
As the connection with her weakening body faded, Solari remembered something a man had once said.
[But, what happens if Maria denies you in the process? If her faith comes to me instead of you, won’t your power weaken?]
‘Miracles can manifest even from faith in a mortal…’
Feeling her upper and lower body separating and falling, Solari laughed in disbelief.
