EP.10 Reverse-2

Reverse-2
The only light illuminating the darkened room was the moonlight.
A man and a woman faintly visible in the dim light.
In a room where they could only make out each other’s outlines.
The only sound filling the calmly settled space was their breathing.
“Is it too hard?”
Kang In-ho’s voice was filled with consideration.
“Umm… It’s okay. It’s rather soft?”
Yoon Sia smiled awkwardly to quell his worry.
And silence fell.
“Is it warm enough?”
Kang In-ho spoke again, trying to break the silence.
“Yes, it’s warm.”
Yoon Sia answered immediately.
“That’s a relief.”
And silence fell again.
“Or would you rather just sleep on the bed? I’m fine with the floor.”
Still concerned, Kang In-ho suggested, and Yoon Sia rose and waved her hand.
“I’m already grateful for you letting me stay… I’d feel too indebted if I took the bed too.”
“Okay, if you insist.”
Kang In-ho didn’t press further. He turned away from Yoon Sia and faced the ceiling.
At first, he had considered taking Yoon Sia home directly, but he doubted she would be safe even if she went home after experiencing such a big incident.
That’s why he had decided to let her sleep at his place, and thankfully, she had accepted his offer without much misunderstanding.
She even seemed glad, which meant she must have been very scared.
After deciding to let her stay, he faced another challenge.
Namely, where to have her sleep.
His original plan was to have her sleep in the guest room. However, Yoon Sia looked like she was dying when he prepared the bedding in the guest room.
She seemed afraid of being left alone.
So, he ended up sharing a room with her, offering her the floor while he took the bed.
A night bathed in moonlight.
Yoon Sia, lying on the floor, stared at the ceiling, thinking.
Recalling what had happened just two hours ago, she still felt like the blood was draining from her head.
Her heart pounded, her mouth felt parched, and her body trembled.
Just as the unbearable fear was crushing her, she felt the thick blanket Inho had given her warmly enveloping her.
Her palpitations subsided, and her breathing returned to normal.
“Inho, are you asleep?”
In the dark space where the sound of skin brushing against the blanket could be heard intermittently, Yoon Sia spoke to him, knowing he was awake.
“…No.”
An answer came after a short pause.
“Thank you… so much for today.”
“It was nothing.”
He said as if it were no big deal.
“Are your arms and legs… okay?”
She had confirmed that he was fine earlier, but she was still worried.
The sound of the bat breaking had been terrifying.
“I’m… fine.”
As if the Sleep Demon was visiting, Inho’s voice gradually faded.
Listening to Inho’s quiet breathing that followed, Yoon Sia closed her eyes as well.
Feeling the warmth of the blanket pleasantly covering her body.
And so, the night deepened.
“Oh, for f*ck’s sake….”
Kang In-ho woke up to a sharp pain running through his body.
It was almost dawn, and Kang In-ho tried to get up in the sight that was brighter than yesterday.
The moment he put his arm down to support his body, pain spread throughout his body.
“Ah….”
A groan escaped his lips before he could stop it.
Kang In-ho struggled to raise his upper body and then examined himself.
His arms and legs were swollen.
Inho felt his head getting complicated at the sight of them, which were more than twice as swollen compared to the other side.
“Inho?”
Yoon Sia, who had woken up from a light sleep, saw his arms and legs and widened her sleepy eyes.
Just yesterday, they were only slightly red, but now they looked like large ham hocks that had been forcibly tightened.
“Ah… I wonder if it’s a sprained ligament… or a fracture….”
Searching through his memories of the martial arts world, he quickly assessed his condition.
“Damn it, I have to go to school.”
Whether it was swollen or broken, it would be difficult to carry out his daily life.
“Can you move?”
Yoon Sia asked worriedly, watching Inho carefully getting out of bed.
“First, I think I need to go to the hospital and then go to school.”
“How are you going to get to the hospital?”
“I’ll have to call a taxi or something. Ah, Teacher. Are you going to school today? If not, take a rest and go later. I’ll head out.”
Inho said, searching for nearby hospitals on his phone.
Having woken up, Inho busily moved around, preparing to go to school.
Yoon Sia followed him with her eyes as he took out his bag and clothes with his injured hands.
“Um….”
Yoon Sia opened her mouth to him as he brushed his teeth with messy hair.
Inho, who was moving busily, didn’t hear her.
“Um!”
Yoon Sia called him again.
“Yes?”
Inho looked at Yoon Sia with unclear pronunciation, his mouth full of toothpaste foam.
“I’ll help you.”
Yoon Sia, who had already tidied up the bedding, got up and faced Inho.
“Pardon?”
He stared at her for a moment, not understanding what she meant.
“Your arms and legs.”
Yoon Sia pointed to his swollen arms and legs.
“It’s uncomfortable, right? I’ll help you.”
Yoon Sia took Inho to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with fractures in his arms and legs.
While he was awkwardly using crutches with green casts wrapped around him, Yoon Sia stayed by his side as he went to school.
