    Guidance-1

“You must have been under a lot of stress lately.”

The doctor in the white coat said.

    “Pardon?”

“It’s a false pregnancy. Stress has made your menstrual cycle irregular, and you’ve associated that with being pregnant.”

    “Ah….”

    Shin Jeonga pursed her lips.

“Try to live without stress. Eat well, too.”

The doctor said something utterly obvious.

Is that how he makes so much money, saying such obvious things? Shin Jeonga wondered for a moment.

“Anyway, you must have been very worried, so I’m sure you’re relieved. And be careful about contraception.”

    “Contraception?”

When the patient asked again, the tired-looking doctor pressed his fingers to the area around his eyes and said,

“If you came here worried about pregnancy, that means you’re having intercourse, right? You’re still young, so if you get pregnant because you’re careless about contraception, your boyfriend will have to take responsibility, so be careful.”

    “Ah… Yes, thank you.”

Shin Jeonga greeted him with a blank face and left the hospital.

Walking down the street after leaving the hospital, she kept repeating the doctor’s words.

    ‘Boyfriend takes responsibility?’

    ‘Boyfriend takes responsibility?’

    ‘Boyfriend takes responsibility?’

    ‘Boyfriend takes responsibility?’

    ‘Boyfriend takes responsibility?’

It was as if she had found an answer to her frustrating situation.

    Shin Jeonga smiled.

It wasn’t the refreshing smile she had shown Inho, nor the bright smile she had shown while welcoming Yoon Sia at home with him.

It was the twisted smile she had shown in a secluded park sometime ago.

“Unexpected. I thought you’d deny it at least once.”

But Yoon Sia wasn’t trembling with fear like that day. Rather, she was calm.

“You seem to know everything already, so what’s there to deny?”

Shin Jeonga crossed her arms and glared at Yoon Sia sitting in front of her.

Her venomous gaze swept over her.

“I have more data that I researched even skipping class… What a shame.”

Yoon Sia looked genuinely disappointed as she picked up her phone again.

It seemed she had more than just the screenshots.

    “So… what do you want?”

“You think I’m going to ask for something?”

Shin Jeonga let out a dumbfounded sound at Yoon Sia’s innocent question.

“If you came all the way to tell me instead of Inho, I think it’s right to assume you want something, don’t you think?”

Jeonga was still using polite language, but she didn’t hide the unpleasant emotion mixed in with her words.

“I’m not trying to demand anything, I’m giving you a chance.”

At Jeonga’s words, Yoon Sia’s face, which had been somewhat relaxed, hardened.

    “A chance?”

When Shin Jeonga, unable to hold back, raised her voice slightly, a few glances briefly turned to her.

    “Yes, a chance.”

    “What kind of chance?”

“A chance to be honest with Inho.”

    Yoon Sia explained.

But Shin Jeonga didn’t seem to understand her meaning, as she only stared at her with wide eyes.

Sigh, Yoon Sia let out a small breath and added an explanation.

“It’ll be less of a shock to Inho if you tell him honestly than if I tell him.”

    “…To Inho?”

“Yes, to Inho. You don’t know how Inho is feeling right now, do you? You just think that you only need to be by Inho’s side.”

With a bitter expression, Yoon Sia drank the rest of her drink.

    “But, unnie.”

    Shin Jeonga interjected.

“What gives you the right to meddle in other people’s affairs like this? You and Inho are just a tutor and a student, right? So why are you going this far?”

“Would you understand if I said it’s just nosiness?”

“I honestly think you like Inho, don’t you?”

Though it doesn’t suit you. Shin Jeonga trailed off.

“If you want to have Inho all to yourself, I think it would be best to tell Inho what you found out….”

“Why are you doing this? Are you trying to be a good Samaritan? You’re doing something unnecessary. You might suffer something worse than last time, you know?”

“Ah, is that it? You grew up in a happy family, without lacking anything, right? So you feel sorry for others and stuff like that?”

Shin Jeonga said, tapping her fingernails together, and Yoon Sia took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

It seemed like she was suppressing some emotion rising from deep within her chest.

“You know, just because life is a gutter doesn’t mean a person has to go wrong, you know?”

    Yoon Sia opened her eyes.

    “I don’t know how tragic your family history is… but it’s really…”

Yoon Sia couldn’t continue her words.

    “…….”

    Shin Jeonga was the same.

After a moment of silence, Yoon Sia opened her mouth again.

“Giving you a chance is… a kind of correction. It’s giving you a chance to fix this whole mess. You’re definitely twisted and gone wrong… but I still think you can get back on track.”

Though the possibility isn’t high. Yoon Sia deliberately added.

    “…….”

“I mean… I hope that people who try to live hard get that much luck, you know?”

Yoon Sia gazed at a slightly distant place.

“And Inho is trying hard to live, I know that well from watching him.”

Yoon Sia drank her drink again.

She seemed to have a sore throat from talking so much.

“It might just be a lie to you, but Inho is suffering right now, unable to do anything. So, if you think about Inho at all, tell him the truth.”

    “…….”

“You asked me earlier if I liked Inho, right? Yes, I have a little crush on Inho. It’s growing little by little.”

Yoon Sia declared as if telling a big secret.

“So I’ll do anything to make Inho happy and to make sure Inho goes down the right path. And this is the first action.”

Yoon Sia poured the remaining drink into her mouth.

She picked up her phone and bag and got up from her seat.

Shin Jeonga looked up at her.

“The second action won’t be so kind.”

    It was a strong warning.

“Today’s class… will be difficult. I hope the situation is resolved by the next class.”

    That’s next Monday.

Yoon Sia left after saying those words.

Shin Jeonga froze like a stone statue, unable to get up from her seat.

She brought her thumb to her mouth.

Nibbling, tapping her thumbnail with her front teeth.

Trembling, her legs were shaking slightly, as if she was anxious about something.

And the intensity was gradually increasing.

    “Fuck, fuck….”

    “If I tell the truth… I’ll be abandoned again…. You bitch… knowing everything… knowing everything….”

Shin Jeonga’s voice, spewing out curses, was mixed with deep anger, as if she was so wronged.
