    673 – Instinctive Fear

    “Here it is!”

Bomi poked Levinas in the side with her index finger.

Despite the light touch, it seemed to tickle him, as Levinas flinched and let out a giggle.

“Everyone, charge towards Levinas and Gaeul!”

As the children rushed in, Gaeul simply closed her eyes.

It seemed she had decided to accept the tickle attack, believing she couldn’t escape it.

    “···Kkeok.”

When Gaeul fell backward, Saebyeok poked her in the side.

With her eyes closed and lying in the bushes, Gaeul flinched a few times before rolling away to escape Saebyeok’s touch.

    “Ah! Gaeul is running away!”

As Bomi pointed at the rolling Gaeul, Levinas’s gaze turned in that direction.

Seizing the moment of distraction, Bomi poked Levinas in the side again.

    “Ugh!”

A mix of surprise and laughter escaped Levinas’s lips.

His eyebrows shot up in irritation.

Could it be that he was planning to retaliate against Bomi?

As I watched for a moment, Levinas began to unleash flames, using the spiciness still lingering in his mouth.

    “Fire Dragon Levinas Tornado!”

    Whoosh-!

    Levinas spun around, spewing flames.

As the fire spread in all directions, Bomi had to retreat and couldn’t approach.

    “Ah! That’s cheating!”

“Not cheating! Levinas is just spinning around!”

    “Ugh.”

As Bomi protested against Levinas, she suddenly looked up at me.

Then she began to send me signals with her eyes.

It was as if she was glancing at Levinas, trying to show me something.

    “Hmm…”

Since the person who ate the spicy chocolate had promised to face a penalty, I decided to help Bomi.

    “I’m going!”

    “Huh?!”

Using my characteristic speed, I charged at Levinas.

Surprised, Levinas spun even faster, spewing flames, but I was quicker.

    Poke-! Poke poke poke poke-!

I dashed around Levinas, poking him in the side whenever I saw an opening.

    Eek eek.

Unable to withstand the tickling, Levinas fell backward, which was tantamount to declaring defeat.

    “Hehehe.”

Bomi rushed toward the fallen Levinas.

As the two of them continued their joint tickling, Gaeul, who had rolled away, suddenly returned to us.

    “Taegu taegu taegu.”

Gaeul announced loudly that she was rolling around.

Saebyeok and Haneul were chasing after her.

With a giggle, Haneul picked up a piece of dogbane that was fluttering in the wind.

    Gently-

Haneul used the dogbane instead of her fingers to tickle Gaeul.

Using a tool to tickle, it was indeed something Haneul would do.

While I stood still, watching Haneul, something astonishing happened.

    “······!”

Saebyeok’s pupils dilated as she saw the swaying dogbane.

In that moment, Saebyeok leaped not toward Gaeul, but toward Haneul.

    “Ah…!”

Haneul, who was defenselessly shaking the dogbane, was knocked down by Saebyeok.

In that fleeting moment of opportunity, Gaeul sprang up from her spot.

    “Yah!”

With her eyebrows furrowed fiercely, Gaeul charged at Haneul.

    Oh my.

    A counterattack from Gaeul.

I was left agape at this shocking turn of events.

‘Counterattack? I never even thought of that…?!’

    “···Yah!”

For a moment, I was distracted by Gaeul, and Levinas charged at me.

I was a bit surprised, but I was on Bomi’s side.

Bomi would surely block Levinas, right?

I looked at Bomi with a confident expression.

But Bomi, with a giggle, charged at me instead of Levinas.

    “Next is Gyeoul’s turn!”

    “······!”

    Betrayal.

All I could do now was let out a “nyaak” and run away.

    “Nyaak!”

    **

    The next day.

As I was planning to have a fun day, I remembered the promise I made with Kwon Arin.

She had asked me to watch her broadcast for just a few days.

While pondering what kind of broadcast would be good, I decided to try something different instead of a game.

It was a dungeon clearing broadcast for adventurers.

We had the equipment to travel between the dungeon and this world, so it was entirely possible.

‘I can clear the dungeon up to stage five, but I need to pay attention to the broadcast.’

I should look for a stage four dungeon.

Having finished planning in my head, I went to find Bomi.

“Bomi, could you look up a dungeon for me? Stage four.”

    “Sure. Just a moment.”

Bomi typed on her laptop and searched for stage four dungeons.

From the several dungeons that came up, I chose my favorite forest-themed dungeon.

“What kind of dungeon is this?”

“Um… it says various types of animal monsters appear.”

    “···Animal monsters?”

“Not real animals, but in animal forms?”

    “I see.”

    A forest with animal-shaped monsters.

It was exactly the dungeon I wanted.

Having made a quick decision, I decided to go to the dungeon.

“Gyeoul, are you going to the dungeon alone?”

    “Um… I do need a cameraman…”

“Then should I go with you?”

    “Yeah. Should we?”

Bomi loved to joke around, but she also knew when to be serious.

This time, we decided to go to the dungeon just the two of us.

‘It would be nice to go with everyone, but…’

Since we had to broadcast differently than usual.

Not knowing what dangers might lurk, I decided to just practice and go with Bomi today.

    **

    “Hello.”

Once Gyeoul entered the dungeon, she immediately turned on the broadcast.

People quickly joined the broadcast, and the chat was buzzing with reactions to the unusual forest terrain.

    [What is this place?]

    [It looks like a mountain?]

[But the trees and plants seem strange.]

Gyeoul cleared her throat, seeing the chat on a separate display.

The dungeon broadcast was indeed quite unique.

    “This is a dungeon.”

[A dungeon? Is it possible to broadcast from a dungeon?]

[I thought it was only possible near the portal.]

“Yes, originally it was only possible near the portal, but they say a new technology has emerged recently.”

A new technology developed by researching the portal in the Beastmen village.

Thanks to that, we could freely broadcast from the dungeon world beyond the portal.

    [There was such technology?]

[I’ve never heard of it, even though I’m interested.]

“This is still an unreleased technology.”

    [Unreleased OMG]

[As expected of the King of Dawn.]..]

    “Hmm…”

After chatting for a moment, Gyeoul turned her attention away from the chat.

Since we were in the dungeon, she decided to focus on her surroundings rather than the chat.

“Today, I’ll show you how to clear the dungeon. It will be good for those aspiring to be adventurers.”

Gyeoul prepared her bow and arrows and checked her Divine Beast.

Today’s partner was the rat Divine Beast, Jjikji.

    “Jjikji, nice to meet you.”

    “Jji!”

After a light greeting with Jjikji, Gyeoul set off to find monsters.

With her ears perked up, she explored the surroundings and soon found traces of monsters not too far away.

    “There’s a monster over there.”

    [Where???]

[How do you know the monster’s location?]

“Um… it varies for each adventurer, but I just track them by sound or smell.”

Gyeoul moved confidently in the direction where she sensed the monster.

Silencing her footsteps, she moved about 200 meters and indeed discovered a pack of monsters.

    ‘They’re in wolf form.’

    A total of six.

Gyeoul momentarily thought of Ensia but quickly shook her head.

Thinking of a close friend through dungeon monsters was a foolish thing to do.

    “······.”

Maintaining silence, she took out her bow and arrows.

As she quietly nocked three arrows at once without making a sound, the chat began to rise rapidly.

[No way, is she going to shoot all three at once?]

[A pro is a pro…With tension in the chat, Gyeoul shot her arrows at the wolf pack.

    Thwack-!

    Thud-! Thud thud-!

Three arrows struck almost simultaneously between the wolves’ eyes.

Taking advantage of the wolves’ momentary surprise, Gyeoul took out a magic arrow next.

While she could have wiped them out instantly by using a magic arrow from the start, she had delayed it because she wanted to show off.

    ‘Next, all at once.’

Gyeoul launched an electric arrow at the remaining three wolves.

    Thwack-!

    Thud-!

The electric arrow struck precisely between the eyes of one wolf, causing it to drop dead, and electricity spread around it.

    Crackle-!

The strong electricity shocked the two remaining wolves.

In an instant, she had eliminated all six wolf monsters.

    [Wow]

    [That was really quick;;]

    The chat’s response was positive.

It was then that Gyeoul’s tail began to wag.

    “Quack!”

A pig’s squeal echoed from quite a distance away.

Gyeoul could feel it charging directly toward her.

‘The pig has a good nose…’

Was it coming because it smelled blood?

Gyeoul checked her weapon and waited for it to arrive.

    Thud-! Thud thud-!

Even though it was quite far away, the footsteps were significant.

Seeing the ground shake, Gyeoul felt something was off.

    ‘Quite a…’

    Boom-!

Gyeoul couldn’t help but be startled when she saw the monster that appeared near the wolf corpses.

A wild boar larger than the Ggaemmi Guild’s container.

Sniffing, it had a dead wolf monster in its mouth and was looking in Gyeoul’s direction.

With its keen sense of smell, it had found her location.

As Gyeoul locked eyes with the boar monster, her heart began to race.

It was just a stage four dungeon monster.

Even though it was an opponent she could easily defeat, the innate fear was unavoidable.

    “NYAAAH!”

    Gyeoul screamed and ran away.

    Scattering pheromones for help.

    “Gyeoul!”

Bomi, holding the camera, chased after her.

    [Huh???]

    [Emergency!!!!!!!]

The viewers watching the broadcast knew.

That Gyeoul was particularly afraid of wild boars.
