    671 – Giant Picture

    671 – Giant Picture

The day after playing with the parrot.

Levinas had been drawing since early in the morning.

    “Nununununun.”

It seemed he was enjoying drawing, humming a little tune.

Levinas proudly held up his completed work and wandered around the house.

    “What are you doing, Levinas?”

“I’m shining various lights! It’s the best when viewed in sunlight!”

    “Ah.”

Anything looks different when it’s illuminated.

Our Levinas is truly sincere about his art.

Curious about the light-filled painting, Haneul followed Levinas closely.

“Levinas…! Your painting is so beautiful…!”

“Yes! Levinas’s painting is very pretty!”

“Yes…! It’s good enough to be in an art museum…!”

    “…Art museum? What’s an art museum…?”

“An art museum is a place where only cool and beautiful paintings are gathered…!”

    “Wow! Is that so?”

    Levinas’s eyes sparkled.

A space that collects only magnificent paintings, it was impossible not to feel excited.

“Wanga, do you know about art museums?”

Levinas ran up to me and asked.

It was nice to see Levinas showing interest in the artistic side.

“Yeah, I know about art museums.”

“Then should we go to the art museum together?!”

“Yeah. Should we all go to the art museum today?”

“Wow! Then just wait a moment!”

    Levinas hurriedly gathered his paintings.

I couldn’t help but understand what kind of feelings he had while packing them.

“Will Levinas also show off his paintings at the art museum?”

    “Yes!”

The art museum is a place where cool and beautiful paintings gather.

He must want to show off the paintings he created there.

As long as we don’t make noise inside the museum, it shouldn’t be a problem.

    “Shall we set off now?”

With the paintings packed, we headed to the art museum.

After eight stops and a ten-minute walk.

It was a complicated route, but we all worked together to find the art museum.

“Gyeoul! Isn’t that the big building over there?!”

    “Yeah, that’s it.”

Bomi ran towards the art museum, and we chased after her.

Once we paid the entrance fee and entered the art museum, it provided Levinas with immense inspiration.

    “Wow…”

    Wudada-

While admiring the paintings, Levinas dashed to the side to appreciate another painting.

Honestly, I didn’t know much about art, but there were quite a few impressive paintings hanging, making it quite magnificent.

    “Wanga, look at this.”

    “Hmm… It’s a paint picture?”

It was a painting splashed with various colors of paint, making it hard to tell what it depicted.

Even so, Levinas observed the painting intently.

“This is a very profound painting.”

    “Indeed.”

Perhaps there was something artistic about it.

Just then, while I was staring at the painting with Levinas, Saebyeok approached and pointed to one side of the museum.

“Hey guys, something is happening over there.”

    “What is it?”

    “…An unveiling ceremony?”

    An unveiling ceremony?

I moved with the kids to the place Saebyeok pointed out.

There, we discovered something covered with cloth and several people.

    “That’s…”

The object covered with cloth was quite large.

From the smell of paint wafting from behind the cloth, I could tell it was an enormous painting.

“Thank you all for being here today. At this moment, a piece of art is meeting the world…”

Someone who seemed to be a museum official held onto the rope.

When that rope was pulled, a magnificent painting would be revealed.

“…I hope the message and emotion conveyed by this work resonate with your day.”

As the official finished all the lines of the opening ceremony, the countdown began.

    Ten, nine, eight…

Was it such an enormous painting that it warranted a countdown?

Just as I tilted my head in confusion, the official pulled the rope.

    Srrr-

The cloth flowed down, revealing a gigantic painting that exceeded my expectations.

    “Wow.”

    “Oh my.”

    Clap clap clap-

Applause and exclamations erupted from the crowd.

Levinas, upon seeing the painting, widened his Rabbit eyes.

The painting of the forest was larger than all of us combined.

    “……!”

Levinas seemed to feel the grandeur of the painting, his fur standing on end.

The overwhelming painting was enough to make even someone like me, who knew nothing about art, marvel.

    “Wow…”

As I stood there with my mouth agape, Levinas pulled out a sketchbook from his arms.

He looked down at the drawing in the sketchbook and then up at the gigantic painting repeatedly.

    “Hmm…”

    “Levinas?”

I hoped Levinas wouldn’t feel small in front of the painting…

I was worried, but our Levinas was a child who could be called a symbol of bravery.

“Wanga…! I think Levinas needs to draw a super giant painting…!”

    “Super giant?”

    “Yes…! Levinas has been inspired!”

Levinas walked out of the art museum.

Perhaps because of the reminder not to run, he bounced along but didn’t run too fast.

“Levinas, but to draw a big painting, you need big paper.”

    “That is…!”

After a moment of thought, Levinas asked Gaeul for a straw.

It was a very special straw that could shrink a person’s size.

‘Could it possibly also enlarge the size of the paper?’

Levinas tore a page from the sketchbook and put the straw in his mouth, starting to blow.

To my amazement, the sketchbook began to grow larger.

    “Wow.”

I always feel this way, but Levinas’s magic is truly amazing.

As I watched the sketchbook with my tail perked up in surprise, Levinas took out crayons from his bag and said.

“Shall we all take a quick look around the art museum?”

“Are you going to draw alone?”

“Yes! Levinas is going to show you something surprising…!”

    A surprise reveal, huh.

If that’s the case, I couldn’t just stand by and watch.

    I nodded in understanding.

    **

After exploring the paintings with the kids, we took a short break in the lounge.

As we enjoyed the art museum leisurely, Levinas approached us.

    “I’m done…!”

    “Wow, already?”

“Yes! I finished early because I drew with a giant crayon…!”

Levinas showed off a crayon the size of his forearm.

It certainly seemed like it would allow him to draw quickly.

“That’s amazing! Let’s go see the painting quickly!”

Encouraged by Bomi, we moved towards the painting.

Levinas’s painting was attached to the outer wall of the art museum, but it was hidden behind a giant leaf, so we couldn’t see it.

    “Wow.”

Is this following the opening ceremony?

    It felt quite official.

I looked up at the leaf, wondering what kind of painting would be revealed, as people began to gather one by one.

    “What is this?”

    “There’s a leaf… something is behind it.”

Perhaps because it was an art museum, people showed interest.

Seeing the crowd, Levinas cleared his throat and puffed out his chest.

“Thank you all for gathering. You will take happiness away after seeing the painting.”

Levinas mimicked the lines from the opening ceremony and glanced back at Gaeul, who was sticking out her tongue.

    “Gaeul, it’s countdown time!”

    “Countdown muyak?”

“It’s counting from ten to one!”

    “……”

    Gaeul hesitated at Levinas’s request.

Gaeul, who could count from one to ten, was struggling?

Just as I was wondering, Gaeul began to fold her fingers one by one, counting the numbers.

    “Yeoil… Ahok… Yeodeo…”

Gaeul counted slowly and carefully, then paused for a moment.

With a blank expression, she pondered, then started counting again.

    “Nilgo… Yeoseo…”

I realized as I watched Gaeul count slowly.

Counting backwards was still a difficult task for her.

    “……”

Gaeul fell silent, unable to finish counting.

After a long time of maintaining her blank expression, Gaeul started counting from the beginning again.

    “Han-na, Duu, She-ee, Nye-ee… Dasheo…”

She was indeed good at counting from one.

Having counted slowly from one to five, Gaeul began the countdown again.

    “Yeoil… Ahok… Yeodeo… Nilgo… Yeoseo…”

    Gaeul stopped again at six.

After hesitating for a while, Gaeul started counting from ten again.

    “Yeoil…”

An infinite countdown that seemed never-ending.

Perhaps feeling that she was making people wait, Gaeul gradually lost her energy.

Her ears and tail drooped, and her eyebrows fell sadly.

However, the people in the art museum were full of patience, cheering Gaeul on.

“You can do it, little friend.”

“Take your time and count slowly.”

With the encouragement of the crowd, Gaeul’s eyebrows lifted again.

I held her hand tightly as a sign of support, and Gaeul began counting again.

    “Yeoseo…”

Having counted to six, Gaeul paused again.

Was she going to fail again?

I squeezed her hand to convey that it was okay even if she failed, and Gaeul began to continue counting.

    “Dasheo… Nye-ee… She-ee…”

    “Wow!”

    “Wow! Gaeul did it!”

Amidst the joy of the kids and the crowd, Gaeul successfully counted to one.

Even though the painting hadn’t appeared yet, the people applauded in cheers.

“Gaeul has counted all the numbers! Amazing!”

    “Eh-hem.”

Gaeul proudly puffed out her chest.

Even though the attention had shifted, Levinas was just happy.

“Levinas, you need to reveal the painting.”

    “Wow! Matta!”

    Yap!

With Levinas’s shout, the giant leaf fell away.

As the painting was revealed, we couldn’t help but widen our eyes in astonishment.
