    604 – Don’t Collapse!

    604 – Don’t Collapse!

    “Waah!”

    “Uang!”

Gaeul’s siren and Haemin’s cries echoed through the air.

Amidst the conflict of deciding whom to calm first, the sounds continued.

    “Waah!”

    “Uang…?”

Haemin stopped crying and stared intently at Gaeul, who was wailing.

It was clear that Haemin, who still couldn’t communicate properly, was bewildered.

    “Dya…”

Haemin rolled a tissue with his head and crawled toward Gaeul.

His chubby baby hands patted the roll of tissue.

It seemed as if Haemin was trying to comfort Gaeul.

    “Dya! Dya!”

    “Huh?”

Haemin lifted the roll of tissue and placed it on Gaeul’s hand.

Thanks to that, Gaeul stopped the siren.

    ‘Oh my.’

    Is Haemin comforting Gaeul?

I could confirm my suspicion with Haemin’s next action.

    “Dya!”

Haemin handed Gaeul a sketchbook and crayons.

He tapped on the laptop keyboard and gestured for Gaeul to try it.

He was an incredibly smart baby.

‘Haemin is from Jeong Yuna’s family.’

Could it be that Haemin has the smart genes typical of a magician?

Since they were from the same family, the probability was high.

    “Heehee!”

    “Dya!”

While I was momentarily lost in thought, Gaeul began to play with Haemin.

They drew pictures together and tapped on the keyboard.

Children have a way of quickly becoming friends again, even after a disturbance.

    “Haemin.”

    Gaeul patted Haemin’s head.

Haemin, feeling good, squealed and waved his arms.

As he waved his arms up and down, he lost his balance and toppled over.

It seemed like his head was too heavy.

“It looks like Haemin still can’t keep his balance.”

“Master, won’t he fall and get hurt…?”

“Yeah. We need to keep a close watch on him.”

Since Haemin was on the desk.

We had to make sure he didn’t fall.

As I raised my reflexes a bit, Bom raised her hand excitedly.

    “I have a good idea!”

    “A good idea?”

    “Yeah!”

Bom brought a bunch of soft things from the lounge.

She spread a blanket on the floor and surrounded Haemin with pillows.

    “Wow! A pillow castle!”

“Yeah! This way, Haemin won’t get hurt, right?”

Haemin, trapped by the pillow wall, babbled and waved his arms.

    Then Saebyeok poked my shoulder.

    “Gyeoul, what did Haemin say?”

    “Um…?”

    “Don’t you understand baby talk?”

    “No.”

The kids, including Saebyeok, looked shocked at my answer.

Even Saebyeok, who usually didn’t express emotions on her face, gasped.

    I didn’t understand why they were shocked that I couldn’t understand a baby’s words.

    ‘What is this?’

Why did the kids think I could understand a baby’s words?

Is it because they believe I can do anything?

I wasn’t sure, but since the kids were so surprised, I thought I should at least give it a try.

    “Um… then I’ll give it a shot.”

The kids looked at me with eyes full of expectation.

With all those gazes on me, I hoped I would succeed.

    ‘Should I analyze the actions?’

    Thump.

    Haemin tapped on the pillow.

He seemed to have a somewhat dissatisfied expression.

It looked like he was frustrated because he couldn’t move, trapped by the pillows.

“Haemin says he’s frustrated because he can’t move because of the pillows.”

    “Oh?! Really?!”

    “That’s so like Gyeoul.”

    Thump thump.

Haemin nodded as if he understood my words.

Surprised, Bom removed the pillows that had been blocking Haemin.

“I didn’t think the baby would feel frustrated. I’m sorry, Haemin.”

    “Bye bye.”

Haemin replied as if it was okay.

He was definitely as smart as our kids.

“Haemin, I’ll show you a fun trick as an apology.”

    “Dya!”

We played happily with Haemin for the rest of the time.

He was a kind and smart child, so there were no inconveniences in taking care of him.

    **

    “Kids!”

    “Yay!”

At the promised time, Jeong Yuna arrived.

Just then, Haemin was letting out a scream of happiness.

Jeong Yuna was satisfied that the kids had taken good care of Haemin.

“Looks like you took good care of Haemin?”

“Yes. Haemin is so nice that it was easy to take care of him.”

    “I see?”

    Jeong Yuna picked up Haemin.

Gyeoul felt a sense of regret as the time to part was approaching.

“I have to take Haemin to his cousin, so can we have the snack party later?”

“Yes. We were going to eat snacks later anyway.”

    “Oh, really?”

As Jeong Yuna patted the kids’ heads, she moved toward the guild door.

Then she grabbed Haemin’s wrist and waved to us.

“I think I need to hurry because his cousin is waiting. Should Haemin wave goodbye to the sisters?”

    “Bye bye.”

Haemin waved his free hand to Jeong Yuna.

Though the farewell was bittersweet, the kids decided to say goodbye to Haemin with joy.

    “Bye Haemin!”

“Take care, Haemin! We’ll see you again!”

    “Goodbye.”

The brief encounter with Haemin came to an end, and a moment of silence lingered in the guild.

Amidst the regret and lingering feelings, the first to move was Levinas.

“Don’t be sad, everyone! We can meet Haemin again!”

“That’s right. We can meet again.”

With Levinas and Gyeoul’s encouragement, the kids perked up.

Seeing this, Levinas dashed out of the guild building.

“I’m going to do some research!”

    “Research?”

    “Yeah! It’s research for drawing!”

    “Oh, drawing.”

    Research for drawing is important.

With nothing else to do, Gyeoul decided to accompany Levinas.

“Wanga, recently there have been people drawing over there!”

    “Really? Where?”

    “Over there!”

Gyeoul ran after Levinas to the park.

There, at the far end of the park opposite the guild building, they spotted someone painting on a canvas.

    ‘Wow.’

The skill of the artists was impressive.

Gyeoul was amazed but didn’t want to disturb the artists by speaking.

Artists are sensitive to noise, after all.

Levinas, thinking the same, quietly gestured to Gyeoul.

    Isn’t it amazing?!

    Yeah.

While Gyeoul and Levinas were watching the painters from a distance, someone painting let out a deep sigh.

“Ha… it’s tough to make a living off painting these days, isn’t it?”

    “Yeah. The earnings aren’t great…”

“Hehe… it’s always been a hungry profession for artists.”

Levinas couldn’t help but be shocked by the conversation he overheard among the painters.

How could they be so good yet not earn well?

To think that being an artist is a hungry profession.

Levinas, who had considered being a painter as one of his many dreams, was understandably taken aback.

    “……”

    Levinas recalled his own drawings.

He prided himself on being relatively good among children, but he knew he wasn’t at the level of an adult yet.

He thought that if he kept drawing steadily and diligently, he could draw like that when he grew up.

But is it really that hard to make a living even if he could draw like that?

For Levinas, who wanted to make his family wealthy, it was quite disappointing.

“There are quite a few people around me who have quit drawing.”

“Me too. It’s such an expensive field.”

    Is drawing really expensive?

Certainly, all the tools used for drawing cost money.

    “Hmm…”

One of Levinas’s many dreams was to make his family wealthy.

He wanted to buy them lots of delicious food and plenty of pretty clothes and dolls.

If he couldn’t earn a lot of money, that would be impossible.

Of course, Levinas knew that nothing is impossible if you work hard.

He could become the world’s greatest painter and become rich, but he still couldn’t help but worry.

And Gyeoul could tell that Levinas had become deep in thought from the conversation of the painters.

    “Levinas, are you okay?”

    “Yeah… I’m fine, but I need to think for a moment…!”

Levinas, lost in thought, returned to the guild building.

With a blank expression, he picked up his sketchbook and crayons.

He wanted to recall the joy of drawing again.

    Swish swish swish-

As he picked up the crayons and diligently began to draw, for some reason, it wasn’t enjoyable.

Levinas realized that the reason was his worry about money.

    “Ugh…”

To think that he found drawing unenjoyable because he thought it was hard to become rich through it.

    Levinas was disappointed in himself.

He couldn’t bear his foolishness and banged his head against the desk.

    “Such a fool!”

    Bang-! Bang-!

As Levinas banged his head against the desk a couple of times, the kids widened their eyes.

Even the office staff in the guild turned around in surprise.

    “Levinas, what’s wrong?”

    “Levinas doesn’t move for money!”

    “Uh, okay.”

Levinas chastised himself, but he knew that a negative feeling was lurking in a corner of his heart.

How could he erase this feeling? Just as he was pondering this, something amazing happened.

    Wiggle wiggle-

The drawing Levinas had made in his sketchbook began to move.

It was the Horned Rabbit he had drawn while thinking it wasn’t fun.

It wiggled around and then jumped out of the sketchbook.

The furious drawing threw a punch at Levinas’s cheek.

    “Such a fool!”

    “Huh?!”

Startled, Levinas opened his Rabbit eyes.

The attack didn’t hurt, but the drawing was using the same voice as him.

    “Don’t fall apart! Levinas!”

Levinas was astonished that the drawing he had created was comforting him.

The other kids felt the same way.

    “Ugh…”

    Gaeul, trembling, hid behind Winter.

Winter, who was also trying to hide like Gaeul, felt Ravi’s magic from the moving drawing of Levinas.

It was Ravi who had moved for Levinas.
