    569 – Boksha

The abandoned house collapsed, and the remnants of what had once been a home lay scattered on the ground.

I was left speechless by Haneul’s shocking exorcism method.

    “H-Haneul…?”

This would surely anger the spirits.

I hurriedly took out my bow to prepare for battle against the spirits, but the Evil Spirits did not attack us.

    Suuuu—

The two Evil Spirits glared at us with a resentful expression before dissipating like smoke.

I instinctively understood that the two Evil Spirits had perished along with the house.

I couldn’t tell if it was annihilation or Enlightenment.

    “Master…! I defeated the spirits…!”

    “Yeah. Our Haneul is amazing.”

I never thought physical Enlightenment could be possible like this.

I should remember this and use it later.

As I looked around the spot where the abandoned house had been, I noticed Choi Jin-hyuk wearing a troubled expression.

    “Is something wrong?”

“Well, not exactly, I was just thinking about how to handle the aftermath.”

    “Aftermath?”

“Yeah. We didn’t file a demolition report, and we’re not the owners of this building.”

    “Ah…”

So the situation became complicated because we demolished the building without permission.

Haneul seemed not to have thought that far, her face showing signs of fear.

    “Um, should I rebuild it…?”

    “Gaeul!”

As Haneul walked toward the debris, Gaeul pulled on her clothes.

After giving Haneul’s shoulder a gentle pat, Gaeul walked toward the wreckage with a confident demeanor.

On Gaeul’s forehead was a frog talisman.

“Is Gaeul going to solve this?”

    “Yes!”

Gaeul moved to the dirt patch in front of the remains of the abandoned house.

Then she squatted down and began to build a dirt house.

    “Dukku-bi~ Dukku-bi~”

Gaeul sang as she constructed her Toad house.

She turned around while building, but the abandoned house remained as it was.

    “Dukku-bi~ Dukku-bi~”

Still, Gaeul diligently sang and continued to build her Toad house.

Bomi squatted down next to Gaeul, who was working hard on her house.

“Gaeul, you have to sing the whole song to get it, right?”

    “Really?”

“Yeah. Do you know how to sing the whole song?”

    “………”

At Bomi’s question, Gaeul paused her movements for a moment.

After a while, Gaeul began to tap the dirt again and sing.

    “Dukku-bi~ Dukku-bi~ Heongjik jukkae, sa… sa… dawu.”

“Ah! You sang it similarly, but it’s a bit off.”

    “Was it wrong?”

    “Yeah. It was wrong.”

Gaeul, looking disappointed, tapped the Toad house a few more times before standing up.

After a moment of contemplation, she pointed at the Toad house with her finger.

    “Ikku.”

    “Toad house?”

    “Hex…!”

Is it a Toad house to replace the collapsing abandoned house?

    I glanced at Choi Jin-hyuk.

Even so, using a Toad house as a substitute for the abandoned house…

    “Oh, that’s good.”

    “Good?”

“Yeah. This should be enough to serve as a substitute for the abandoned house.”

A smile appeared on Choi Jin-hyuk’s face.

He probably knew it wouldn’t truly replace it, but it seemed he was being considerate of Gaeul, who worked hard on her Toad house.

    “Ex-ham.”

Thanks to that, our Gaeul’s shoulders perked up.

    **

The day after the abandoned house incident ended in vain.

After a quick trip to the Dungeon, I found the children drawing at home.

As I organized my things, I admired the children’s drawings.

I couldn’t help but comment on how uniquely well they drew.

“You draw really well. You could sell this for money.”

    “Really?!”

At my compliment, Gaeul’s ears perked up.

She looked as if she might actually sell her drawings for money.

“Are you going to sell your drawings, Gaeul?”

    “Hex…!”

Gaeul, holding crayons, began to draw a few more pictures.

Happy Beastmen families, Gaeul bravely catching monsters, and Saebyeok launching a Nuclear punch.

After drawing about five pictures with great effort, Gaeul stood up, holding all her drawings.

“Gaeul, are you going to sell your drawings?”

    “Yes!”

Gaeul went outside with her drawings in hand.

How would Gaeul sell those drawings?

Curious, I followed Gaeul with the other children.

    Tap-tap—

Gaeul walked confidently to the convenience store.

Was she planning to buy milk first?

As I quietly observed Gaeul, she sat down in an empty space in the convenience store and began her business.

    [Baekgeon]

Holding a crookedly written piece of paper, she spread her five drawings on the floor.

It’s great to sell her own drawings, but doing this in a convenience store might disrupt business.

I cautiously looked around, and just then, I made eye contact with an employee who was organizing items.

    “Um…”

The employee glanced at Gaeul, who had set up her stall.

Even though she must have seen Gaeul selling, she continued with her own tasks as if nothing was happening.

Did I just receive tacit permission to sell here?

As I was assessing the situation, Gaeul’s first customer approached.

    “Gaeul, are you selling this?”

    “Yes. One thousand won.”

The first customer was a female adventurer I had seen passing by the Dawn Guild.

She must have stopped by the convenience store to buy something and came over after seeing Gaeul’s drawings.

“I want to buy this, but I only have a one-thousand-won bill. Can I buy it for a thousand won?”

The woman showed a one-thousand-won bill from her wallet.

Even though it was ten times the value of a hundred won, Gaeul pondered for a long time.

    “Um… okay.”

    “Wow, really?”

Even though she considered it worth less than a hundred won, Gaeul sold the drawing.

It seemed Gaeul was more focused on the act of selling her drawings than the money itself.

“Oh. Can I just have one of these?”

    “Hex.”

It didn’t even take ten minutes for all of Gaeul’s drawings to sell out.

The last buyer was the convenience store employee.

“Wow! Gaeul’s dog drawings are all sold out!”

    “That’s amazing.”

    “You’re good at drawing…!”

As the children sincerely congratulated her, Gaeul’s tail began to wag excitedly.

Perhaps stimulated by the sold-out drawings, the other children started to get excited.

“Levinas too! I want to draw and sell too!”

    “Me too…!”

    “Me too! Me too!”

    We dashed back home.

    Crayons, colored pencils, and markers.

The children began to draw using various art supplies.

    Swish-swish—

They drew several pictures, but the children never skimped on their work.

One by one, they carefully drew different pictures, stacking them up.

Levinas and Saebyeok, Gaeul and Haneul too.

While everyone was diligently drawing, Bomi finished with just about three drawings.

“Bomi, are you only going to sell three?”

“Yeah. I’m going to use magic.”

    “Magic?”

Could she be planning to draw with magic?

The children showed interest in this unheard-of technique.

“Kind Bomi, can you draw with magic?!”

“Yeah. I know an amazing magic item.”

    Hehe.

    Bomi grinned mischievously.

She definitely had something fun in mind.

    **

Bomi led us to the Magic Stone shop.

At the shop, office workers were diligently working.

    “Oh my?”

The office worker Yoo Sang-ah welcomed us.

In the back, Momoa and Sophia were also hard at work.

    “What brings you here?”

“Bomi said there’s a magic item here.”

    “A magic item?”

We all turned to look at Bomi at once.

Bomi’s gaze was fixed on the copier.

“Ta-da! With this, you can enlarge your drawings hundreds of times?!”

    “Whoa! Is that really true?!”

    “Wow!”

Levinas and Gaeul’s ears perked up.

Haneul and Saebyeok didn’t seem to react much, perhaps because they already knew about copiers.

‘Come to think of it, we don’t have a copier in our office.’

It’s almost an essential item for an office.

I added a copier to the shopping list and looked at it with the children.

“Kind Bomi! How do you enlarge drawings with this?!”

    “I don’t know.”

    “Huh?”

Bomi looked up at Yoo Sang-ah, holding her drawing.

Then Yoo Sang-ah chuckled and picked up Bomi’s drawing.

“I’ll just enlarge one for now.”

Using the copier, Yoo Sang-ah made a copy of Bomi’s drawing.

The drawing had turned into two, and Levinas and Gaeul gasped.

    “Levinas realized…!”

    “What?”

“The Animal King Card is made using this…!”

    Kugung.

Levinas’s face turned pale with shock.

It seemed Levinas thought he had to draw each Animal King Card by hand.

“Yeah. You can use this to make cards and books.”

“So if I write just one book, can I enlarge it to a hundred or a thousand copies?!”

    “Yeah.”

    “Wow!”

    Clap clap clap, Levinas applauded.

It was another moment for Levinas to learn about the human world.

“I’m going to enlarge my drawings like crazy with this!”

Bomi began to operate the copier as she had learned from Yoo Sang-ah.

Next to Bomi, Gaeul wore a blank expression.

    “Copy.”

Gaeul, staring intently at the copier, turned to look at me.

She seemed to be deep in thought.

    “Gaeul, what are you doing?”

    “Ju-in copy…?”

    “Gaeul?”

Gaeul looked back and forth between me and the copier for a long time.

    Then she shook her head.

    “Gaeul, what’s wrong?”

    “Ju-in two not know.”

    “Uh, yeah…?”

    Not two, but one.

Was she seriously contemplating making me into two with the copier?

Did she think one was better than two, or was she holding back her desire to make me into two for my sake?

I wasn’t sure, but Gaeul’s patience was truly remarkable.

To have something that could make two and yet hold back.

    Indeed, our Gaeul was amazing.
