Chapter Index

“Don’t tell me something like that is happening again?”

“It won’t happen twice. It’ll be fine now that Mira’s there.”

    “I think so, but……”

As Leona received information from the Goddess about Mira’s situation, Rosalia, who had been trapped in time, murmured with a serious expression. The memory of being trapped was still vivid.

Being trapped in a world where you could feel all sensations but nothing moved, and no amount of effort could change anything, was terrifying.

It was fortunate that Mira had rescued them, but what if she hadn’t? What if, instead of Mira, Aria had come?

The four of them would have starved to death, been tortured to the point of insanity, or been cruelly killed in one of three ways.

All of them were horrific endings. Rosalia shuddered.

“Let’s at least open the window.”

    “You’re being paranoid……”

Rosalia, who was so anxious that she was losing her mind, flung the window wide open. Laura looked at Rosalia with a disdainful face.

    Just then, it happened.

    -Kururururung!

The world shook with a deafening roar that seemed to shake the heavens and the earth. The teacups and plates neatly placed on the table were overturned.

“What, what’s going on?! What’s happening?!”

Rosalia, who had barely managed to hold onto the window frame, looked out the window. What if it really was the case? Good thing I opened the windowㅡ

    “……Huh?”

As soon as I looked out the window, I realized something was wrong. The passing students all had calm faces. They didn’t feel a thing.

I looked back to confirm, and the table was covered with overturned teacups and spilled tea, and the carpet was a mess. Leona, Priscilla, Laura, and Elysier were all confused.

It wasn’t just me who felt it. I looked outside again. The students were still calm. The inside was in chaos, with furniture overturned, but the outside was peaceful.

Rosalia, whose head was spinning with confusion, finally realized something. The Academy’s defensive magic had been activated at maximum output. All the buildings were glowing blue.

    “Are you all okay?!”

A dimensional portal opened, and the Chairman appeared, flustered. Her breasts, which were so large that they defied gravity, were wobbling in all directions.

“Is something wrong again? Don’t tell me that womanㅡ”

“No. It’s…… You should probably take a look outside.”

Rosalia, who was completely overwhelmed by the Chairman’s presence, timidly pointed outside. The Chairman, who had been panting heavily, approached the window. The Dragon’s keen hearing picked up on the conversation.

But the content was very different from what she expected.

-What’s with the defensive magic? Did something happen again?

-I don’t know. I didn’t feel anything. Wasn’t it something that happened outside?

-Yeah. Let’s just avoid it for now. It’s not like you’re in a hurry.

They didn’t seem to know why the defensive magic had been activated. The Chairman stood there, dumbfounded.

    “……What’s wrong with them?”

“I don’t know. We definitely felt it, though. The table shook, and the teacups fell over. But the other students didn’t……”

The communication device reacted at about the same time. Erestika, who had been holding a mana crystal at her waist, infused it with mana. The crystal turned blue, and Professor Ingrid’s voice echoed through it.

-Did you activate the defensive magic at maximum output? What’s going on? If you wish, I can immediately put all the professors on alert.

Erestika, who was confused about what was going on, replied that she was looking into it.

It didn’t make sense. The vibration was so strong that a mountain of paperwork on the table had turned into a carpet on the floor, yet almost no one felt it.

    All the students hereㅡ

“……I understand what’s going on. It must be related to time. That’s why the other students didn’t perceive it.”

    “I guess so……”

Rosalia covered her head with her hands. Then, she looked up at Leona.

“Leona, did the Goddess tell you anything? What’s Mira doing now?”

“I was about to tell you. She said she scattered the thoughts she had attached to you. She said she couldn’t tell you the details herself, so you should hear it from her.”

“Ugh, I’m going crazy! Something’s really happening again!”

Just when I thought it was over, this happens.

“Let’s at least get out of here since it only affects usㅡ”

    -Kwaaaaaaang!

Before Priscilla could finish her sentence, the world shook again. Wham! The table overturned, spilling tea, broken teacups, and shards of plates everywhere.

Rosalia barely managed to hold onto the window frame, Priscilla fell on her butt, Laura tumbled with the sofa, and Elysier was crushed by the sofa as she tried to hold it. Only Leona and Eres managed to maintain their balance.

But outside, it was still peaceful. It didn’t make sense for them to be so calm when the furniture inside was in disarray. Dragons would have wobbled from such an impact, yet the outside was peaceful.

If something had happened, it should have been chaos by now.

‘What the hell is going on……?’

    .

    .

    .

A meteor shower of light fell from the sky. At the same time, a blue mana volcano erupted from the ground, blocking the meteor shower of light.

An explosion rang out, and divinity and mana overflowed everywhere.

    ‘……!’

A chilling sensation brushed past my neck. I jumped back, and the space where I had just been standing was torn apart.

Immediately, magic circles grew all around, blocking my escape route. Each one was powerful enough to easily pierce through the defensive magic I was wearing.

    -Moonlight Expansion.

The Dragon Tooth drew a crescent moon, which quickly became a half-moon and then a full moon. As I twisted my body and swung the sword down, the moon exploded as it struck.

The sacred strike, imbued with divinity and mana, shredded the magic just as it was about to activate. The space that had been suppressed exploded with tremendous force, and a ringing sound echoed in my ears.

The impact and strength of the shockwave were enough to destroy a decent-sized mansion.

The remaining half of the strike that I couldn’t absorb plunged into the ground. Once again, the time axis wobbled. The ground beneath my feet shook.

I sprinted forward. Aria, wearing a blood-stained nun’s habit and smiling brightly, came into view. Her eyes flickered, and the color changed from blue to gray.

The look of confusion in the gray eyes aimed at me had almost completely disappeared.

    ‘A little more.’

If Latina wasn’t just a vessel but her soul was mixed with Aria’s, she would have noticed what was happening.

Every time she gained control of her body, I tried to attack her and then stopped, and then her consciousness was taken away again as Aria regained control. But even if she noticed, there was nothing she could do.

    At least not right now.

I twisted my trajectory to avoid slicing her neck. The Dragon Fang barely grazed a strand of gray hair. The sacred strike in the blade sliced through the earth instead of Aria’s neck, creating a gorge that was at least several dozen meters long.

I was about to prepare another magic, but I hesitated when I saw her eyes were still gray. Her hands drew magic circles, and just as I was a step too late, her eyes turned blue again. A holy light flashed, and a storm of icy flames raged.

The wind hit my body, lifting me into the air. As my body burned in the flames, ice shards the size of fingernails pierced my entire body.

Immediately, a golden meteor shower fell. I swung my tattered arm, cutting through the golden light of the meteor shower, and it disappeared into thin air.

Despite this, the storm raged on. It was only after my body had flown quite a distance that I was able to land on the ground. I used healing magic on my tattered body.

The ice shards that had pierced my body were replaced with new flesh, and the torn skin that had exposed my insides returned to normal. The severely burned muscles were also completely healed.

“I was a little surprised. I didn’t expect you to really attack me.”

Latina, with blue eyes, approached from a distance. Her blood-stained nun’s habit was soaked with blood from the attacks she had endured and healed.

“If I had been a little slower to react, I might have died. That’s a shame.”

“Yeah. I could have ended it with that.”

    “It’s unfortunate, and I apologize.”

    Aria approached.

“Do you really think you can keep running away? How long do you think you can keep this up?”

“It’s not a matter of when I’ll end it, but when you can catch me. If we keep fighting like this, we might not reach a conclusion even after a year.”

“Hmm, that’s boring. Then I’ll have to make you come to me. What will you do if I shoot divinity at this world? Can you block them all?”

    “No. I can’t do that.”

Aria gave me a look as if to say she thought I was joking.

    Just a little more.

“I always trust you, Mira, but not this time. I’m sorry. What makes you so confident?”

“You should be asking yourself that. How many times have I let you attack me like this?”

Aria’s face stiffened slightly. She realized that there was something in my attitude that made her trust me. Her hands began to draw magic circles, but she stopped abruptly, her body convulsing.

    “Cough?!”

With a distorted expression, Aria knelt, clutching her chest. Her body trembled.

    The blue eyes turned gray.

    “Savior, Lord…… Cough!”

Latina’s body screamed again. The gray eyes turned blue again. Aria struggled to lift her head.

    “Ugh, what……”

“Didn’t I tell you what kind of person Latina was?”

She was a woman with a strong will. Her instincts were sharp enough to notice even the slightest change. In the brief moments when Latina’s personality appeared, she had realized what she needed to do. The fact that Aria and Latina were fighting for control of her body was proof of that.

Aria had also helped by allowing Latina to adapt to the attacks by switching personalities every time she was attacked. It was all her fault.

    “Ugh, ugh, ugh……!”

Her body twitched. Her eyes kept alternating between gray and blue, and the blue periods were getting shorter. Latina was enduring better, with far fewer screams when her eyes were gray.

    -!!!!!!

Divinity burst out of Aria’s body. She plunged the Holy Lance into the ground, fixing the nearby space-time. Kwadddduk, the distorted time wobbled and settled.

    “Do you think…… I’ll give up here……?!”

Anger-filled words were spat out, and the period of grey eyes lengthened gradually. Latina was gaining the upper hand. At the same time, the divinity that burst out became even stronger.

I drew out Eternity instead of the Dragon Tooth. A translucent blue blade formed.

In the past, I couldn’t save her. I had only just received the Holy Spear, and I had to flee for my life.

    This time would be different.
