Mesugaki Tank Enters the Academy –
    141

    When I first started
pillaging, I expected to incur enmity from other students.

Given my usual image and the
fact that pillaging isn’t exactly a noble act.

    Even though it was something
allowed by the Academy, I was the one who carried it out. Naturally,
people would call me the devil.

But you know what? As I
continued pillaging, I realised people’s hostility was much more
    severe than I had anticipated.

Some of them stared at me with
genuine murderous intent when I pillaged them.

I joked that I had thrown away
my reputation a long time ago, but that didn’t mean I wanted to be
    the scapegoat for everyone’s anger.

I may have evolved from being
a dumb bitch to a competent bitch, but I couldn’t bear the thought
of transforming into a competent yet detestable bitch with a terrible
personality, someone everyone wants to take revenge on someday!

    I’m not that strong
mentally! I don’t want to go through the experience of hearing
students at the Academy curse and click their tongues at me every
    time I walk by!

    Certain that I would become
the Academy’s Public Enemy if things continued this way, I pondered
how to resolve this situation and came up with a plan.

A plan possible in a world
that does not follow a predetermined script.

    To be exact, it wasn’t
    completely my plan.

I casually asked Grandpa if it
would be okay to try something like this, and he ended up creating
the entire script from start to finish.

The mind of someone who once
worked as a commander in a great war, a high-ranking noble, and a
    Paladin is no joke.

    Listening to Grandpa casually
explaining everything left me in awe. I wonder if I’ll ever be able
to do something similar one day.

    Anyway, the framework of this
plan was simple. Redirect all the emotions aimed at me towards
    someone else.

    Once I started pillaging, it
was inevitable that people would harbour negative emotions towards
    me.

    After all, if someone has
their hard-earned belongings taken away, how could they not be angry?
However, it’s not necessary for me to bear all that negative
    sentiment.

    Emotions fluctuate depending
    on the situation.

I chose the professors at the
    Academy as the scapegoats.

    There were two reasons for
    this decision.

    One, it’s more convenient to
direct feelings of anger towards the strong rather than the weak.

    The other was that shifting
the blame to the professors seemed like it could lead to a favourable
    outcome.

    After all, the professors are
in charge of this field trip, right?

    If the students get hurt
because of their mistakes and get angry, wouldn’t there be some sort
    of compensation in return?

When I shared this idea with
Grandpa, he thought it wasn’t a bad idea and gave me some
    additional advice.

    Honestly, I didn’t expect
things to work out this well.

If it hadn’t been for Arthur
desperately gathering people to mess with me, the chaos wouldn’t have
    been this big.

    Thinking about how Arthur made
the plan perfect, I should give him a gift later. What would he like?

    Escaping my thoughts of
    grandeur and returning to reality.

    As I was observing Jessel’s
face, who had now realised her slip of the tongue and had fallen
    silent.

Despite being only in her late
twenties, she had secured a professor’s position at Soul Academy.
Naturally, she was both capable and quick-witted.

Until just a moment ago, she
had been rambling due to my provocation, but upon hearing Arthur’s
words, she regained her composure and recognized her mistake.

    Not that it changes anything.

After all, you can’t take back
    what’s already been said, right?

    “Since you’re in a
leading position here, I need to ask once more. If what you said is
true, then many students are flunking this field trip because of the
    professors’ judgement, correct?”

    “Well, that is…”

I think I’ve done my part.
Arthur should be able to handle the rest.

    He’s articulate,
quick-thinking, and holds a high position.

    I’ve set the stage perfectly;
he should be able to take it from here.

I’m off to rest now. I’m
really tired after not sleeping for days while moving around.

    Indeed, doing everything
solo—commanding, fighting, preparing camp, and standing guard—is
    pretty exhausting.

    “You admitted that we
were harmed. How do you plan to compensate us?”

    “That’s right. Think
about how the students feel who won’t be able to avoid failing
because of this incident, regardless of our own experiences.”

    The protests directed at
Jessel intensified as the students, who had been knocked down due to
Anton’s erratic behaviour, began to get up one by one.

    Jessel tried to explain that
it was an inevitable decision for their safety, but it didn’t
resonate with them. The students had a valid point.

The issue was just one: Jessel
had mentioned, with her own mouth, the possibility of Lucy losing.

    If she hadn’t acknowledged it,
there would have been no problem. She could have simply said they
acted solely out of concern for the students’ safety. Then what could
    anyone say?

    But Jessel couldn’t
withstand Lucy Allen’s provocations and ended up justifying the
    students’ complaints herself.

‘Why did I act like that
    just now?

    After all, it’s not the
first time high-and-mighty noble kids have thrown a fit.

    But still, why?’

    “Professor Jessel? Can
    you answer that?”

    Arthur’s question made Jessel
grip her fingers tighter. What should she do? How could she salvage
    this situation?

    “I’ll answer that on her
    behalf.”

    While Jessel was hesitating,
contemplating what to say, Anton, who was standing next to her,
pressed down on her head slightly and stepped forward.

    “This incident was indeed
a mistake on our part as professors. We apologise, Your Highness.”

    “Never mind that. So what
do you plan to do about it?”

    “There will not be any
failures among those who participated in this field trip. Of course,
the rewards given based on the amount of collected loot will be a
    separate matter.”

    “What?!”

    Jessel was more shocked than
anyone at Anton’s drastic statement. No failures from the field trip!

    “Professor, that is—!”

    “Don’t worry. Everything
    will be fine.”

    Anton responded with a smile
to Jessel, who urgently turned her head and looked at him
questioningly. Jessel found herself unable to respond.

    As Anton ruffled Jessel’s
bowed head, full of a sense of apology, he turned his attention to
    Arthur.

    “Will this be satisfactory,
    Your Highness?”

    “Indeed. I appreciate your
    generous decision.”

    Arthur politely thanked Anton
and then turned away, exhaling deeply.

    ‘Lucy Allen. Did you predict
    all of this?

    From the very first night,
when there were multiple assaults on students, were you aiming for
    this moment?’

    Arthur didn’t ask Lucy Allen
directly, but somehow, he felt he knew the answer.

    She had foreseen everything.

    That the students would
    harbour ill will towards her.

    That Arthur would rally people
    using that sentiment.

    The resulting chaos as well.

    And that the professors would
intervene to put a stop to it all.

    “Prince, Lady Allen
    orchestrated this situation.”

    “Go quickly to where Lady
Allen is speaking with the professors. You’ll hear something there
    that will help you.”

    Otherwise, Joy wouldn’t have
appeared so urgently after Anton suppressed the confusion and relayed
    such a message.

‘Haha. She got me. She got
    me good.

I planned to use Lucy Allen’s
mistake against her, but it turns out I was dancing in the palm of
    her hand all along.

    Damn it. Lucy Allen. Showing
such prowess, what do you expect me to do?’

    “I should thank her later.”

    ‘Originally, I would have
faced criticism from the students for failing to subjugate Lucy
Allen, but with everyone passing the field trip, there is no reason
    anymore.

And it must be revealed that
this was all thanks to Lucy Allen.

    I don’t know what those
harmed by Lucy Allen will think, but I need to mitigate their
    grievances as much as possible.’

    Since Lucy salvaged Arthur’s
    blunder, this much is necessary.

The day after the field trip
ended and we returned to the Academy.

As I was unpacking the items
in my inventory and checking them one by one, I discovered something
that should never have been there among the many items.

    Among the belongings I had
taken out and put back into my inventory during the field trip, there
    was the perverted Fox.

The pervert tried to jump up
and cling to my face as soon as the bag was opened, but I managed to
grab the perverted Fox by the nape with superhuman reflexes and stop
    her.

    ‘Why were you hiding in
    there?’

    “Hey, perverted Fox. What
    the hell is this?”

    “I couldn’t bear the thought
of not being able to see someone as beautiful as you after the field
trip ended! So I secretly hid here!”

    So, you decided to stalk
    someone you liked?

    The so-called Master of the
    Forest?

    I’m going crazy, seriously.

    ‘Grandpa. How did you not
    notice this?!’

    Grandpa! Why didn’t you
perform your radar detecting role properly?

It’s your job to detect and
    prevent things like this!

‘What are you going to do
about it?! This pervert followed me all the way here!’

I was so happy thinking I
wouldn’t have to see that perverted Fox’s face again after leaving
    the forest!

    I swore I wouldn’t enter
Scytil Forest again under any circumstances!

    Why! Seriously, why!

    ‘Slight?! Grandpa, after
seeing everything that’s happening, you call it slight?!’

    Grandpa. You’ve had it easy
    lately, haven’t you? Huh?!

    Getting dunked in the toilet
    water is not enough, huh?!

    All right, fine! I’ll follow
Grandpa’s suggestion! There are plenty of shops on Soul Academy
Street! How about we take a little dumpster diving tour?!

    “Don’t worry! I have no
intention of troubling you! I am satisfied just by observing you!”

    What nonsense is this
    perverted Fox spouting now?

    Just your mere existence is
stressing me out, you damn freak!

    “Can you just get lost?♡
    You grubby furred, perverted fox?♡”

Go back! Go back to the
    forest! Please!

    “Are you thinking of
    driving me away?”

    “Of course♡ Why should
I put up with a disgusting pervert like you?♡”

    “Think carefully. Even if
you try to drive me away, do you think I will retreat so easily?”

    …No. She absolutely
    wouldn’t.

She’s a crazy girl who would
even beg for more after being provoked by the [Mesugaki] Skill.

If she were someone who would
give up just by being kicked out of a room, she wouldn’t have
followed me all the way here.

    “Even if you drive me
away, I will always hover around you.”

    Excuse me, Ms. Crazy Fox.
Stalking is a crime, you know?

    Why are you proudly explaining
that you’re going to commit a crime?

    “Wouldn’t it be better to
keep me close and monitor me?”

    Sigh.
    I really hate this.

    Every single word from this
perverted Fox makes me feel like my soul is leaving my body.

But do you know what’s even
    more infuriating?

    Her words actually make sense.
