131 – I’ll Calm Down My Temper. You Damn Bitch.

    “…..”

Reina, seated in the carriage, glanced at the mercenary who resembled Max.

    He drove the horse silently.

There was discipline in Max’s demeanor as he stared straight ahead, checking for any enemies in the surroundings.

The casual attitude he had shown when first joining the procession had disappeared, replaced by a sharp gaze scanning the area.

    And Reina observed this Max.

    Broad shoulders and muscular forearms.

The sturdy chain mail covering them, and the robust physique evident even through the armor.

He rode comfortably on horseback without seeming to feel the slightest sway, occasionally receiving reports from subordinate mercenaries and changing positions.

Sometimes going to the back of the procession, then rushing to the front again.

At times, he would approach the imperial officials and whisper something.

As Reina stared intently at Max, she would unconsciously startle and lower her head when he turned his horse to ride to the back.

When she saw him whispering with the officials.

‘Is, is he trying to scheme to violate me?’

    She thought.

She also felt as if the other inferior species were eyeing her.

Why did their gazes seem so lecherous?

She felt breathless with each of Max’s actions.

‘Wh-when is he going to violate me?’

Such thoughts were all that filled Reina’s mind as she watched Max.

She had come to this illusion to be taken by an inferior species in the first place.

She came here to see a fantasy of an inferior species doing unspeakable things to her noble self, to fulfill such desires.

But Reina was somewhat disappointed by the mercenary Max’s lack of direct action compared to her expectations.

However, she couldn’t make the first move herself.

This illusion was clearly meant to have the inferior species pounce on her.

Moreover, it would be shameful for her, a noble elf, to take the initiative.

    ‘I absolutely cannot do that.’

She would never make the first move herself.

    It must not happen.

    “…..”

    Reina glanced at Max’s profile.

A high nose bridge and full lips, a sharp jawline and thick neck with a prominent Adam’s apple.

It was a rugged appearance not seen in typical elves.

As she briefly admired Max’s masculinity.

    “Ah.”

She belatedly realized that Max had turned his head and was making eye contact with her.

Reina hastily exclaimed as if confronting him.

    “Wh-what are you looking at?”

“Weren’t you the one looking, Lady Elf?”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about. Weren’t you the one staring at me?”

    “…I apologize.”

The mercenary Max bowed his head.

It was a completely different reaction from what she had expected of Max, who she thought would argue back against her words.

    ‘What? Why is he apologizing?’

Shouldn’t he be arguing back here?

Shouldn’t he be insisting that he did nothing wrong?

Why is he being so submissive?

He’s supposed to be a man who will violate me terribly.

Shouldn’t such a man be more aggressive?

‘Does he not even have any thoughts of it to begin with?’

Reina suddenly felt her mood sour.

He was just an inferior species.

She was irritated by this situation where a mere inferior species wasn’t acting according to her expectations.

Shouldn’t an inferior species act as she expected, befitting their status?

“Is this something that ends with just an apology?”

    “Pardon?”

    She was angry.

That man was so much like Yuris.

Not only did he show no interest in her, but he also coldly rejected her, just like Yuris.

Yuris, who had given Reina a sense of frustration.

The Goddess of Victory who was always businesslike and kept her distance.

She who had clearly known Reina’s admiration for her and ignored it.

Suddenly, Yuris’s image overlapped with that of the mercenary Max.

She didn’t want to just let this go.

She felt like she needed to say something to this arrogant inferior species to feel better.

“I didn’t like you from the start.”

    Why was that?

Why did she keep getting so angry?

Was it because of that timid and base mercenary who refused to violate her even in this illusion?

Even though it was something she could have easily overlooked.

“Because of your tardiness, the entire schedule was delayed! I guess all that talk about humans being diligent and quick was a lie. Seeing that there are trash like you.”

    “Lady Elf, that’s…”

“Are you trying to make excuses? Hmph! Everyone already saw it, didn’t they? How they all had to wait because of you.”

    “…..”

    Reina clicked her tongue.

“Not even a single word of apology?”

    “I’m… sorry.”

Reina glared at Max as he bowed his head.

    ‘This isn’t right.’

She had no intention of speaking like this at all.

It was true that she didn’t view inferior species favorably.

But creating unnecessary conflict wasn’t in the nature of Reina, the original High Elf.

Why was she getting so irritated today of all days?

“Oh my, Lady Reina. We, we’re so sorry.”

An imperial official who had overheard the situation urgently rode his horse to approach her carriage.

“We should have taken better care of you, haha. We, we’ll be reaching a resting place soon, so perhaps we could set up camp there and take a short break…”

“Do you think I’m acting like this because I can’t rest?”

    “I apologize. Haha.”

“That man, get rid of him immediately. Send him to the front, or to the very back, anywhere out of my sight.”

    “Haha, understood.”

The imperial official gestured to dismiss the mercenary Max from his position.

With Max’s back turned, she didn’t see it.

How the mercenary Max twisted one corner of his mouth into a smirk as he left.

    “…..”

    This wasn’t right.

    How much time had passed?

    “You can rest here.”

Reina suddenly found herself looking at an elaborate tent set up at the campsite.

The massive tent, prepared to accommodate Reina as an honored guest and elf, was immaculate even on the inside.

There was even a bed inside, though she couldn’t fathom how it had been set up.

‘Is this the Empire’s magical technology?’

Honestly, she couldn’t clearly remember when this tent had been erected, or even when they had arrived at the campsite.

Was this the power of the illusion?

She had almost no sense of the passage of time.

As if scenes changing in a dream, when she came to her senses, the scene had already shifted.

    ‘How fascinating.’

Even Reina, who had experienced illusion magic numerous times and had set up illusion magic in the Elven Forest several times herself, hadn’t noticed this change in time.

She couldn’t even begin to guess how high Max’s level of skill must be.

    “Thank you.”

“Ah, and about the mercenary captain…”

As the official mentioned the mercenary Max, Reina’s expression soured.

She was angered by the thought of that man who clearly knew he was supposed to violate her, yet didn’t make a move.

The official, noticing her reaction, stammered.

    “Speak.”

“Ahem, we’ve positioned his quarters at the farthest point from Lady Reina’s tent, so you needn’t worry about him.”

    “I see.”

    “Then…”

After the official left, the surroundings grew quiet.

    A quiet evening.

The sound of insects chirping briefly began, then.

    Whoosh.

    Rain started to fall.

The raindrops, which had been gently tapping on the tent, gradually grew stronger.

It wasn’t much of a concern for her.

If the rain intensified, the inferior species outside would handle it themselves.

And even if something happened to where she was staying, nothing major would occur.

If anything did happen, she could easily resolve it with spirits and magic.

“They even implement weather like this?”

    The detail is impressive.

The sound of water hitting the tent drummed in her ears.

    “Sigh…”

Reina, who had been meditating with her eyes closed for a moment, felt frustrated by the calm situation.

    ‘Why isn’t he coming?’

Isn’t it common sense for someone to come and pounce on an elf alone at night?

    “Am I that unattractive?”

Reina created a semi-transparent mirror with water.

Beautiful golden hair flowing like a stream.

    Blue eyes sparkling like lakes.

A straight nose bridge and fair skin.

A chest larger than most elves, though she didn’t like to brag, and a slender waist.

    It was objectively beautiful.

    “This can’t be…”

Could it be that I think too highly of myself?

Is Yuris not interested in me because I’m not beautiful?

    “This is frustrating.”

    [Encoded text omitted]

Normally, she wouldn’t have been this irritated.

But in a state where she felt that way, and the man she thought would violate her wasn’t taking action, she got angry out of frustration.

    Like Yuris.

    It was then.

    Flap.

At the sound of the tent flap being lifted, Reina unconsciously looked towards the entrance.

    “Huh?”

    Whoosh.

At the entrance stood a man, his entire body drenched in rain, glaring at her.

    It was him.

The mercenary Max whom she had insulted that afternoon.

He was now glaring at her, soaked in rainwater.

    It was anger.

Anger towards the woman who had humiliated him.

    “Y-you, how…?”

She hadn’t sensed his presence at all.

An elf’s hearing was far superior to that of humans.

    Not only that.

There weren’t many humans who could deceive the senses of a High Elf like her.

How could a mere mercenary like Max do so?

Reina belatedly realized that this was an illusion.

Even the past events that she couldn’t control.

    Gulp.

    She sensed it.

That the situation she had wanted and desired was right before her.

“I-I don’t know why you’ve come, but leave immedia-”

Reina spoke the lines while trying to suppress the corners of her mouth from rising.

The lines that a normal elf would say in this situation.

    Max approached at those words.

“You bitch, I was going to let it slide since you’re a noble elf, but you dare humiliate me?”

    “W-wait a moment…”

The killing intent in his voice.

Reina unconsciously stepped back at that fierce killing intent.

“I’m going to put you in your place, you bitch.”

Why did each step Max took towards her feel so much larger?

His broad shoulders seemed much bigger than when she had seen him from the carriage.

“Flaunting your lewd breasts to seduce me, and now this.”

“M-Max… if you take one more step, I’ll call for help.”

“You were the one glancing at me seductively from the start.”

“Wh-what are you trying to do?”

“And when I actually met your eyes, what? You ask what I’m looking at?”

    Thud.

As she backed away, Reina realized she had hit the tautly stretched wall of the tent.

“Today, this inferior being will have to teach the noble elf some manners.”

Max’s eyes, glaring at her, were overflowing with anger and desire.

He was alternating his gaze between her face and chest.

His gaze, brimming with filthy lust, slowly scanned her body.

Even without words, she could tell what he was about to do to her.

    Ah.

    So it begins now.

    Thump thump.

Reina’s sensitive ears could hear her own heartbeat.

    And then.

    Rip!

    “Kyaaah!”

The elven ceremonial dress covering her chest was torn apart by Max’s thick hands.
