    14 – Then I’ll Hit the Boss’s Heart (2)

The Double Barrel is one of the loudest weapons in the Battle Colosseum, with a sound comparable only to the large sniper rifle that appears in random supply crates.

However, no matter how loud it is, it’s difficult to pinpoint when gunshots are coming from all directions.

Especially for stream snipers who have to constantly alternate between checking their own position and the broadcasters’ positions.

    Bang! Bang!

    {{HumanSignalFlareKimFirecracker >>(Head) iIIiiIIiIiIiIII}}

When the Double Barrel’s gunshot rings out twice, one person goes down.

As three people instantly put their names on the scoreboard like that, viewers who couldn’t see Majiya’s screen finally expressed their admiration.

    — Has it started?

    — Wow, look at the speed of wiping out a squad lol

    — Whoa lol

    — This is what a signal flare is~

    — The voice really doesn’t match at all lol

    — I thought it was hacks for a second lol

And the fact that people died next to Jia meant she had a chance to farm.

    [Wow, level 3 bag. Sweet.]

    — Lololololololol

    — Boss, Employee D is farming instead of coming to help

    — You must really want to smack her one lol

Jia’s habit of quietly muttering while playing games was broadcast as-is, which became another point of laughter.

One side was in a panic begging to be saved, while the other was leisurely farming – the contrast was ridiculous.

“Employee D? Is now the time to farm? We’re about to die here!”

[It’s okay, the boss can handle it. Show us the taste of your well-trained equipment’s long-range love.]

    [Employee D! Help! Save us!]

[Oh, a shield battery too. Sweet.]

    [Kyaaak.]

    — This side is a horror game, that side is a survival game, and over there is a healing game…

    — Rain is even louder than when she was playing horror games recently lol

    — Even the kidnapper would get tired and let them go lol

    — Momo, please lower Rain’s volume…

Though it looked like a complete mess with nothing going right, Majiya was steadily sniping the snipers and raising her kill score.

The more the two broadcasters drew aggro, the more wildly she could rampage.

This was like an agreement made between Cheon Do-hee and Majiya.

Boss, you be the bait, and I’ll do the hunting.

But since even the herbivorous boss has teeth, it’s fine to bite and kill the predator in return.

    {{HumanSignalFlareKimFirecracker >>(Kill) ImSeniorsFavorite}}

    {{HumanSignalFlareKimFirecracker >>(Kill) VirginLifeFailed}}

    {{HumanSignalFlareKimFirecracker >>(Kill) ChickenGotCold}}

This was like a memory imprinted on her body, similar to Pavlov’s dog experiment. So even while frantically dealing with the incoming enemies, Do-hee couldn’t help but feel relieved seeing the kill log.

She just had to hold out.

Then, Jia would eventually come to save her.

When else would she use the survival skills honed through evil Majiya’s area-of-effect training if not now?

Moreover, indoor combat, especially the three-dimensional maneuvering combat that takes place in what’s commonly called a “rope house” with ropes attached, was one of her specialties.

The Factory was a multi-story building with several of these ropes, so as long as she didn’t make mistakes, it was possible to hold out for a long time.

In a way, this was all thanks to Majiya too.

In open fields, she’d become a beehive from stream snipers’ bullets drawn by the Double Barrel sound, so she had no choice but to crawl into variable-filled indoor spaces to survive.

    — She’s holding out well today

    — Has Momo’s Battle Call skills improved a lot?

But even so, the reason more attention was focused on Jia rather than Do-hee who was holding out was probably due to the kill log that kept appearing at intervals of less than a minute.

Since an enormous number of stream sniper snipers had gathered around Do-hee, the speed at which Squad Majiya was handling squads stood out in comparison.

    — Wow, but Employee D’s kill log doesn’t stop

    — Is it for real that it takes less than a minute to wipe a squad and recover and farm? OMG

    — How do you do that with just a double barrel? I really don’t know

And so, in just 10 minutes after they separated, the gunfire had significantly decreased.

    – 55 Survivors – –

Out of the 35 dead, Jia had taken care of 17.

Excluding the fights between stream snipers and the few that Momo caught, most of the kills in the past 10 minutes were Jia’s.

At this point, even the viewers became curious.

What on earth was she doing to kill people so quickly with just a Double Barrel?

It was almost like she was plowing through the ground like some human tank, but there was no way to know except for the occasional loud Double Barrel sounds.

    — Tsk

    — Rain, should we die soon and switch to Signal Flare’s screen?

    — This broadcast doesn’t allow channel changes

    — That… isn’t possible?

It was essentially telling Rain to die, but that’s how many people were curious about Signal Flare’s skills.

People who had seen Momo’s broadcasts in the past might know bits and pieces, but most were those who had flocked due to the Signal Flare topic that had heated up the Battle Call gallery a few days ago.

Of course, the irritated Rain wouldn’t stay quiet.

[Hey puddles. Even if Mi’s skills are crap, telling me to die. Very sad. Right?]

Up until then it seemed like ordinary banter, so people just let it slide.

:: Anonymous donor has donated 1,000 Clouds! ::

:: You’ve been running away this whole time ::

:: Anonymous donor has donated 1,000 Clouds! ::

:: Should we start by killing the puddle that’s being cheeky right in front of us? ::

Perhaps the following donations were a bit too much, as Majiya, who had been busy hunting, suddenly appeared on the sound.

[Puddle folks. If you keep telling Rain to die, I’m going to ban you.]

The viewers who had been thinking of her as Signal Flare were startled.

Ah, this person was the Parallel manager.

:: Anonymous donor has donated 11,111 Clouds! ::

    :: Employee D please have mercy ::

:: Anonymous donor has donated 10,000 Clouds! ::

:: It was just a joke It was just a joke It was just a joke It was just a joke It was just a joke ::

Would Majiya let these two off?

[I’m going to ban the person who donated 11,111 for 1 hour. 11,111 is Rain’s exclusive donation amount.]

Do-hee, who had just barely finished dealing with one squad and was in a brief lull, heard those words and was impressed.

She had thought Majiya had thrown her and Rain into harsh conditions just because she couldn’t overcome her evil instincts, but that wasn’t the case.

It was a response that showed anew what position she was taking in this collaboration broadcast.

:: Anonymous donor has donated 1,000 Clouds! ::

:: I felt internal closeness because of Signal Flare but seeing the manager’s move just now I might be a bit scared… ::

:: Anonymous donor has donated 1,000 Clouds! ::

:: I want to receive a reward (ban) too, heuheung ::

    — Mong Mong is peeing anywhere again…

    — Talking about rewards lol

    — It is a reward lol

    — Merciless judge OMG

    — As expected of Momo’s employee, the knife skills are

Do-hee, who had missed that situation because she was busy dealing with enemies, felt unnecessarily grateful to Jia.

Wasn’t it a situation where she took care of Rain first even though she must have been busy with her own game?

Perhaps thinking Jia might take care of her too, Do-hee whined and tested Jia.

“Employee D. Can’t you come help me soon? I’m already tired…”

However, her attitude as an employee was only towards the broadcast.

In-game, Signal Flare was still evil.

[In 5 minutes at Sabaody Archipelago.]

    “Hey you.”

    — Ah, she’s telling you to hold out 5 more minutes lol

    — Where are you trying to freeload

    — Let’s go in~

Our boss usually used even persistent stream snipers as broadcast material.

Unless they were crazy people who ruined games that were going well with stream sniping, she tended to make them slightly mischievous friends.

After all, for people who keep coming no matter how much you reject and push them away, rather than getting stressed out chasing them away every time, it’s better to just beat them all up – that’s the mindset of someone with a strong mentality.

I turned on the broadcast to do WWE with you guys.

    Try any technique you want.

Standing there with shoulders squared like a pro wrestler, that spirit was amazing.

Of course, being such a sturdy punching bag meant she was always targeted by snipers in both ranked and normal games.

Even those who would stop if she showed some tears and asked them to stop after a while probably became stubborn because the boss endured until the end.

That’s why I recommended the Factory as the landing point.

On a day like today, stream snipers would inevitably gather there, but I thought the boss could hold out there for quite a while.

Isn’t indoor combat now a specialty for the boss after all those tedious indoor battles?

And my expectations were spot on.

Unlike Rain, who was being hounded by her own viewers, the boss was really fighting and holding out.

Though her shield and health were constantly in a precarious state, she absolutely refused to die.

As if she was really trying to hold out for the 20 minutes I initially promised.

[Aah! Damn, stream snipers, don’t you ever stop?! And if you’re going to come, come all at once! Did you guys plan this? You did, right? You’re not people coming to a fan meeting, why are you lining up to come!]

    [Boss! Save me!]

    [You’re down again?!]

[These fucking puddle bastards keep knocking me down and running away!]

[Can’t you at least catch one of them…?!]

[I did shoot, but… Shit. Boss, why aren’t you sympathizing? Is the foreigner suddenly getting humid…]

    — What has Rain been doing this whole time lol

    — Why is her crawling time longer than her living time lol

    — Oh no, the broadcast is getting damp

I specifically set it to 20 minutes because that was about the limit the boss could hold out in the special location of the Factory.

If she barely dies after holding out, we can joke again saying “I was almost there, what a shame.”

Whether they actually expected that or not, some viewers who had been watching the broadcast for 3 years were already on the nostalgia train, even playing old-fashioned trot music.

:: Anonymous donor has donated 10,000 Clouds! ::

:: Damn, my spine is suddenly trying to straighten ::

:: Anonymous donor has donated 1,000 Clouds! ::

:: I took a break from Battle Call for a few years because real life was busy, but watching today’s broadcast makes me want to come back lol ::

:: Anonymous donor has donated 1,000 Clouds! ::

:: How could I have forgotten you, Signal Flare… ::

Just like them reminiscing about the past.

I too still recall that time 3 years ago these days.

    Because,

I love the screaming boss so much.

[Employee D? Has it not been 5 minutes yet?]

[Ah, ah, it hurts. It hurts! Stop!!]

    [Stop it, you bastards!]

[How many Molotov cocktails are you throwing?!]

I like it when she calls me a bastard,

I like it when she suddenly curses at me,

I like that sigh when she meets me in random queue,

I like the genuine surprise and roar when she’s forcibly made into equipment,

And I like how she expresses gratitude when I feed her a win despite all that.

    On broadcast,

    At the company,

    Through Ding Talk,

    Through Talk Code,

I like how she reacts as if we made a promise when I use a technique.

    And.

When I arrive to save her after she’s held out for so long.

I like how she immediately lets out a lion’s roar filled with intense anger.

“Boss, I’m almost there. Are you alive?”

[You can see if I’m alive by looking at the health bar! Are you mocking me right now?!]

    “I’ve been caught.”

    [Do you want to die?!!]

That’s right, this is the sound.

    — This is workplace bullying

    — Death threats OMG

    — Too harsh when she came to help lol

:: Anonymous donor has donated 1,000 Clouds! ::

:: Hottani just came to help ㅠㅠ ::

[If you were going to help, you should have helped 20 minutes ago!! Is this my fault?]

    I said with a giggle.

“Should I go back the way I came then?”

    [Are you crazy?!]

    “You don’t seem very desperate.”

    [Hey—!]

    — Tsk tsk, such language to someone who came to help

    — For real lol

    — Say “Please help me~”

When people feel excessive happiness, they sometimes mutter things they don’t mean, as if drunk.

And in that moment, they’re really dazed as if drunk, so they don’t know what they said even after muttering.

    Just like me right now.

“Hehe, I wish I could play with the boss like this every day.”

    … ─ Parallel (VTuber) Gallery ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ …

    [Isn’t this a green light?]

I didn’t notice during the broadcast because it went by quickly
But it kept coming to mind so I rewatched it and

    (hh_wish_I_could_play_with_the_boss_like_this_every_day.clip)

If we interpret ‘like this = collab’ here
Doesn’t it mean she’ll keep appearing on Momo’s broadcasts?

    (Hmm… cone)

    (Aha cone)

    OTNXSU9XcTFURXdtd0tweHpoait4akVEQVJoTmMrTm16VjVSWTNEeEJiU2I1OGhjWllubmdpVzh6dW4yQnluVw

So Momo was the one preventing her from broadcasting

    (Bat cone)

Momo should take responsibility and debut Employee D

    Author’s Note (Afterword)

Most of you probably know, but for those who understand WWE differently, let me explain
It’s like a kind of repertoire, routine, or playing a fixed game
For example, if a broadcaster uses an aegyo technique saying “I’m sulking~”, responding with something like “What did you say?”

And today is a consecutive upload!
The next part will probably be up at 10 PM!
