The battle with The Iron Calvary of Death

A lone cry in the wilderness!

There’s an old saying that clapping requires two hands.

Unfortunately, according to the law of tit for tat, also known as the exchange principle, a conversation cannot be had alone.

Anyone who claims they can converse alone is undoubtedly, absolutely, a madman, a psychopath, or a person with multiple personalities. It’s wise to keep a distance in such relationships.

For some time now, a young boy has been bravely facing the Iron Calvary of Death, the ferocious members of the Iron Calvary of Death Brigade. Wi Musang, facing the boy who only mentioned his name and then fell silent, decided to break the ice. He had a bad feeling that this endless silence would continue otherwise. Finally, Wi Musang took the first step in the conversation with Bi Ryu yeon.

    “What exactly is your purpose?”

Wi Musang, the brigade deputy leader of the Iron Calvary of Death Brigade, asked. Even if he had to kill, he wanted to satisfy his curiosity first. Otherwise, he would feel an itch at the back of his head.

“Just a common troublemaker that you can find anywhere.”

Bi Ryu yeon answered the question about his purpose with a statement of who he was. He revealed his identity nonchalantly, as if it were not a big deal. However, for the listener, it was a very serious matter.

    “A troublemaker?”

“Don’t you know? I’m a professional who specializes in sabotaging others work, delivering a critical blow to their objectives.”

    “Do you want to die?”

Wi Musang emitted a deep murderous intent.

Since becoming the brigade deputy leader, he had never encountered someone as brazen as this boy. However, the truth was that the boy’s death was already a foregone conclusion, so his threat was meaningless. There would be no change in the boy’s fate to die soon.

“No matter how much of a doomed pretty boy I am, death is not on my schedule for at least another three hundred years. Perhaps true beauty, peerless beauty, is something that even death must bow to?”

Wi Musang’s face contorted uncontrollably upon hearing the boy’s cringe worthy voice. He had never encountered such a bizarre person before.

“You’re taking too long to say you want to die! If that’s your wish, I’ll grant it! Your courage and spirit to block the path of our Iron Calvary of Death Brigade are admirable, but your recklessness is beyond human praise.”

“Today is the first time I’ve learned that calculated execution can be expressed as recklessness.”

Bi Ryu yeon was not considering his own death at all. There was no scent of fear of death coming from his body.

“So you thought you could block our path and still be safe?”

    “Just turn back.”

A simple retort! It was a nonchalant response to blocking a path, but to the listener, it was infuriating enough to make steam come out of their head.

    “Hahaha! Such an insolent brat…”

    “Stop!”

The one who restrained the frenzied Wi Musang, who seemed ready to pounce, was the silent leader of the Iron Calvary of Death Brigade, Gu Cheon Hak.

Wi Musang had no intention of committing the disloyalty of defying Gu Cheon Hak’s authority. His faith in Gu Cheon Hak was almost fanatical. Gu Cheon Hak’s intentions were clear.

Wi Musang looked at Bi Ryu yeon again and said.

    “Kid?”

    “Where’s the kid here?”

Bi Ryu yeon feigned ignorance. Wi Musang’s eyebrow twitched momentarily. But he could no longer waste time bickering, as it was one of the behaviors that Gu Cheon Hak greatly disliked.

    “Listen, young man!”

Reluctantly, he chose to compromise. He planned to kill him right after the compromise.

    “Why so?”

Finally, Bi Ryu yeon responded. A murderous intent began to smolder within Wi Musang. The boy was annoying without giving anything in return.

“Do you have a nickname? As a special commemoration for being selected as the reckless fool who single handedly blocked the path of the Iron Calvary of Death Brigade, I’ll remember your nickname for you, and for posterity, I’ll cherish your foolishness, naivety, and recklessness.”

    “A nickname? I don’t have one!”

    “What? You don’t?”

“Yes, I don’t! Even if I don’t have one, it doesn’t inconvenience my life, so is it really necessary?”

For Wi Musang, who had conventional thinking, this was an utterly nonsensical and unacceptable counter question. It wasn’t surprising, but Bi Ryu yeon thought he seemed too shocked.

A brief silence gently descended between them.

“Really? You really don’t have one? Seriously? No joke, really, really?”

Wi Musang asked with a face full of ridicule and astonishment. Normally, he would have crushed someone like this under his horse’s hooves without a second thought.

“Yes! Really, really, no joke, I don’t have one!”

In truth, he did have one. A precious nickname, “Fortune’s Favored Striker of the Zither.” was circulating within the Cheonmu Academy Hall, but it had not yet reached Bi Ryu yeon’s ears.

Thanks to the Ju jakdan and Yeom do, who volunteered to block the information from him. And there was no one bold enough around Bi Ryu yeon to use his nickname as a joke.

They knew all too well the horrific retribution that awaited them.

    “So you don’t have one?”

Wi Musang’s lips twisted even more, and the sneer on his face deepened.

    “Yes! I don’t have one!”

Answering had become a nuisance. Was there really a need to persistently ask about something so trivial? In his view, martial artists sometimes focused too much on worthless formalities that weren’t worth a penny. To him, it was nothing but a waste. However, that didn’t mean those formalities were valueless to others.

“Haha, truly! Living brings all sorts of strange experiences. Is this what they mean when they say you should live first and judge later?”

Wi Musang couldn’t help but let out a hollow laugh of astonishment.

“A kid who obstructed the path of our Iron Calvary of Death Brigade doesn’t even have a nickname? It’s so astonishing I’m at a loss for words.”

In the martial world, having a nickname or a martial name, no matter how trivial, meant some recognition from peers. Those without one were awkwardly placed as third rate. Even a first rate person, if not ‘The Unbeatable Divine Sword,’ would at least have a silly nickname like ‘The Three Bears of the North.’ In this world, where even bandit leaders have one or two nicknames, not having one meant failure to establish oneself.

But such common sense didn’t apply to Bi Ryu yeon. There are always annoying exceptions to the rules of the world.

“So, these days, you can be recognized for your skills just by having a fancy name? I had no idea that naming skills could prove martial arts prowess!”

Bi Ryu yeon said with a smirk, his disdain evident.

“Impudent brat! Do you want to die?”

The hot tempered brigade deputy leader flared up again. Despite having received a silent order to kill, Wi Musang himself was caught up in Bi Ryu yeon’s eloquence, wasting time. However, he was completely unaware of this.

A dignified, low voice interrupted Wi Musang’s thoughts.

    “Musang!”

It was Gu Cheon Hak, the brigade leader of the Iron Calvary of Death Brigade, calling him again.

    “Yes, deputy leader!”

The brigade deputy leader quickly corrected his posture and responded.

Gu Cheon Hak was always an object of reverence for him.

“We have a long way to go. We’ve wasted too much time.”

The voice was quiet, but the command within it was clear. Wi Musang’s gall wasn’t swollen enough to defy it.

    “As you command!”

Wi Musang saluted and turned to look at Bi Ryu yeon again.

“Kid! I’d like to tell you to go back and suckle more at your mother’s breast, but we’ve never spared anyone who obstructed the path of our Iron Calvary of Death Brigade. You’re no exception.”

“Since you’ve kindly warned me not to turn back, I guess this means negotiations have broken down,”

Bi Ryu yeon said, feigning regret.

“Would you turn back if you were me?”

Bi Ryu yeon shook his head from side to side and then said in a soft voice,

“Then I will no longer hold back in my actions.”

The ultimate secret of the Biryeo do spirit color heart knot the absolute spirit defense method of the way of emptinessActivation

Bi Ryu yeon’s hidden eyes began to shine with a golden light. In those golden eyes, not a trace of emotion or its remnants remained. He had become a weapon for destruction and slaughter.

The Lingering Silk Heart Knot, originally created as a mental training method for extreme concentration, had another subtle use. It served as a shield to protect the spirit from mental shocks, confusion, and external mental interference.

Once activated, emotions like compassion or pity were completely paralyzed. There was no fear at the sight of blood, nor any sense of guilt. The mind was encased in an iron wall.

    Clack!

Wi Musang raised his hand high.

    Click clack.

Taking the raised hand as a signal, two swift spear wielding warriors, guarding Wi Musang, slowly led their iron clad horses forward. As soon as Wi Musang’s hand dropped, they would spur their horses into action. In their hands, they already held spears as black as ink, weapons that had fed on the blood of hundreds.

    Then it happened.

    Thud! Thud!

The sound of something heavy hitting the ground! And then a long, drawn out voice followed,

    “Ah, that’s refreshing!”

Wi Musang saw Bi Ryu yeon stretching leisurely, extending his limbs. His voice sounded like a cheer from someone who had relieved a twenty year old chest congestion, or if you listened closely, like a glorious victor who had triumphed in a six month long desperate battle with constipation.

Wi Musang had no choice but to momentarily hold off on lowering his raised hand.

    Thump! Thump!

Bi Ryu yeon lightly tried jumping in place.

    Creak! Creak! Snap!

His joints played a pleasant tune. His body felt so light that he seemed ready to break free from the earth’s grasp and soar into the sky.

    “It’s been a long time!”

It had been a long time since he had released the two Black Dragon Rings clinging to his legs like water ghosts. The energy that had been suppressed throughout his body was now activated and ran wild within him. It was difficult to control the surging impulse. His legs refused to stay still. He felt like a hawk that had broken its chains.

Bi Ryu yeon barely managed to control the energy raging inside his body. Then he let his arms hang loose.

With his arms hanging down and his body relaxed, Bi Ryu yeon was the embodiment of nature itself.

“Come at me whenever you’re ready.”

    Bi Ryu yeon said confidently.

    “Impudent fool!”

Wi Musang no longer wanted to wait.

    His hand forcefully came down.

    It was a death sentence.
