    **Thunderbolt Valley**

    – A Blood Wind Blowing in the Mist

“The surprise attack is less effective than expected. Despite all this shooting, there are no casualties. Moreover, their resistance is fierce.”

Xue Jian commented, observing arrows being cut in half and others flying back at terrifying speeds.

“They are representatives of the righteous path, after all. I’d be disappointed if they fell to this level of attack.”

Red Blood spoke as if he had anticipated this.

“Arrows are enough to bind their feet. Activate the second formation!”

    “Understood!”

Xue Jian raised a blue flag.

    “Second formation, activate!”

The members of the 10th squad, led by Xue Suo, took out the wheel-like loads they had been carrying on their backs. As they unwrapped the cloth covering the wheels, iron chains coiled around them were revealed. They drove iron stakes into the ground and fitted the wheels onto them. The stakes were designed to be adjustable, allowing the angle of the wheels to be set as desired.

They set up the wheels at a slight angle.

The 10th squad members each grasped the beginning of the iron chains flowing from the wheels in their right hands. The chains had a very dark yet profound color, clearly not made of ordinary iron. They took out short spears from their waists and attached them to the ends of the chains. The spearheads had six blades, uniquely curved inwards.

“Iron Chain Soul Sealing Formation, activate!”

    Clank, clank, clank!

With the signal, dozens of wheels connected to iron staffs began to spin fiercely, making a loud noise.

    Boom, boom!

Black iron chains flew from both sides of the gorge at regular intervals, striking the ground with a thunderous sound. The spears at the ends of the chains looked terrifying, but not enough to seriously harm people. However, as the chains formed a web-like pattern from all directions, the delegation found it difficult to advance or retreat.

“What’s this now? Are they trying to trap us here?”

    Yeomdo shouted irritably.

    Clang!

Mo Yong Hwi looked at his sword in disbelief. Despite infusing it with maximum sword energy, he couldn’t even make a scratch. What material could be so hard? It was fortunate that his sword blade wasn’t damaged.

“Hehehe, those iron chains are made from refined thousand-year cold iron. No sharpness can cut them!”

A sneer formed on Red Blood’s lips.

“It seems the enemy wants to tie our feet here.”

Binggeom said, looking around at the web of iron chains. Yeomdo grumbled dismissively.

“Hmph! But chains are meant for confinement! These mere strings can’t bind our steps. Besides, they don’t have any other effective means of attack yet.”

In this state, the enemy couldn’t launch any direct attacks other than arrows.

    “Deploy the Flying Wheel Formation!”

Red Blood, watching the situation from atop the gorge, ordered.

    “Understood.”

Xue Jian raised a yellow flag.

    Clank, clank, clank!

The sound of metal fiercely rotating and clashing echoed throughout the gorge.

    “W-What is that?”

NoHak and Tang Sam opened their eyes wide in shock. Bladed wheels were spinning at a terrifying speed, descending along the black iron chains spread in all directions. These predators with sharp iron teeth were rotating their bodies at a fierce speed, searching for bloody sacrifices. Moreover, the gaps between the chains were narrow, making it difficult to defend or evade.

Imagine dozens of wheels falling like waterfalls along dozens of chains! It’s frightening even to imagine.

    “Everyone, dodge!”

Before Yeomdo’s shout could finish, a wheel passed by him, creating a terrifying wind. Just as he was relieved to have dodged one, Yeomdo leaped into the air, startled by the cold gust approaching the back of his head.

    “Gasp!”

It was a close call. Another wheel had launched a time-delayed attack along the chains on the opposite side. The spacing of these chains was cleverly designed to prevent the wheels from colliding with each other.

    “Fearsome bastards!”

Arrow rain above, iron wheels below! It was impossible to avoid splitting one’s attention.

    “Argh!”

    “Aah!”

Several members of the group had already been injured by the terrifyingly fast-rotating wheels. Though not as intense as before, arrows still rained down from the sky occasionally.

    ‘This is dangerous!’

It was noteworthy that Binggeom and Yeomdo had the same thought simultaneously. It was a moment when a solution needed to be proposed.

    Just then,

The iron chain not far from Yeomdo swayed greatly. Bi Ryu-yeon had lightly stepped onto it. However, it swayed significantly due to the weight of the Silent Dragon Ring. Despite the violently swaying and shaking chain, Bi Ryu-yeon maintained his balance calmly.

    ‘What is he planning?’

Everyone’s attention focused on Bi Ryu-yeon.

    Clank!

The chain swayed once more as Bi Ryu-yeon leaped.

    Pat, pat, pat!

Bi Ryu-yeon was climbing up the chain towards the top of the gorge. People’s eyes widened. The same was true for the Blood Demon Squad members guarding the chains at the top of the gorge.

    “Hurry!”

A member of the 12th squad quickly attached a flying wheel to the chain.

    Whoosh!

The flying wheel, rotating its blades at a terrifying speed, shot down towards Bi Ryu-yeon.

    “It’s dangerous!”

Na Yerin’s face turned pale. At that moment, only one thought occupied her mind. As she sensed Bi Ryu-yeon was in danger, the ice mask covering her face shattered, and she cried out as if screaming.

    “Ryu-yeon!”
