    Will (2)

    Will (2)

… Writing a letter turned out to be more difficult than I thought.

Starting from what tone to use for those left behind, to trying to write words that would minimize their pain, it felt like my head was about to explode.

‘… This is giving me a headache.’

    Moreover, I realized while writing.

If ‘I’ disappear after the ending, but the ‘real Deren’ returns and reclaims this body.

It became even more difficult to write the letter because I had to consider what might happen.

After sitting blankly for a while, I finally made a decision and sighed.

‘I’ll write the letter like a will.’

In case the ‘real Deren’ returns to this body after the ending.

I decided to put a ‘seal’ on myself immediately after defeating the Demon King.

‘It’s a rather harsh measure for the real Deren.’

Since the real Deren I saw in the original novel seemed like an absolute evil.

Rather than restoring things to their original state and letting others get hurt, it would be better to eliminate it altogether.

‘Especially in Rumi’s case, Deren harassed her persistently for no reason, and from the middle to late part, he really tried to kill her.’

He might try to kill Rumi the moment he returns.

To prevent such a thing, it would be better to seal the body itself in advance.

‘The reason I’m not committing suicide is that I’m considering the possibility of not returning.’

Considering the possibility of remaining in this body, I started writing the letter.

Originally, I was going to wrap things up with just a few words.

But ending it like this seemed a bit unfair to Rumi, Delia, Sien… and if I add one more, Espin, so I wrote some additional content for the four of them.

‘That’s the least I can do as a human being.’

With that thought, I began to write a letter that may or may not be read.

    * * *

I finished the letter thinking that this was the first time I had focused so deeply on something other than magic research since coming here.

Although it had already been revised several times, there was no need for further changes.

However, it was unavoidable that my hand kept hesitating due to the strangely unfinished feeling it gave.

    ‘… I don’t know.’

So, while I was hesitating for a long time, pondering what to do with this.

Luna, who was dozing off next to me, nodded her head and said to me.

    [Master, you can’t die…]

Inevitably, I had told Luna that I ‘might disappear’.

Luna clung to me more than usual, repeatedly saying that I shouldn’t die.

I tried to comfort her by repeatedly saying it might not happen, but Luna stuck by my side all day, talking only about that.

‘I’ll have to buy her a snack later to distract her.’

And thinking that if I leave it alone, it will sort itself out, I stretched out.

‘So where should I hide this?’

The first place that came to mind was under the bed… but honestly, the maids poke around there while cleaning, so the chances of it being found were too high.

I thought it would be better to put it somewhere else.

    ‘Hmm…’

It’s quite troublesome because I haven’t really hidden things before.

I looked around the fairly spacious room and then shook my head, looking at the drawer.

    ‘I can enchant it here.’

After attaching it to the top of the third drawer and casting a spell,

It would naturally fall after my death, and then a spell would activate indicating that there was a will here.

I feel a strange complexity as I finish up what I’m doing, when someone knocks on the door.

“Deren, are you available to talk?”

Wondering who it might be, I listen to the voice and recognize it as Delia’s.

I answer that she can come in, and I see Delia carefully entering the room wearing pajamas.

    “……”

I’m not sure if she deliberately wore this, but.

Delia enters the room wearing pajamas made of thin material… in short, pajamas that subtly reveal the skin underneath.

I’m so flustered by her attire that I sit quietly without saying anything.

Luna, who was next to me, tilts her head as she watches this, then exclaims to me as if she’s realized something.

[Master! This is a mating situation!]

Fortunately, when Luna speaks ‘human’ language in her cat form, it’s not actual speech but more like telepathy transmitted to the mind.

I inwardly laugh bitterly, thinking it’s fortunate that Delia couldn’t hear anything about mating.

‘Well, whatever. I wonder why she came.’

Judging by her somewhat serious expression, it doesn’t seem like she came just to make romantic advances.

As I think this while looking at Delia.

Delia puts down the magic lantern she was holding nearby and speaks to me.

“Um… I came to apologize for something.”

    “Apologize?”

    “Yes. Well, um…”

Delia seems to have difficulty speaking and keeps hesitating while looking at me.

Then, taking a deep breath, she points to the nearby bed and says to me.

“The story might get long, so can we talk on the bed?”

The moment Delia said that, Luna, who was next to her.

[Master must have come to mate too! Let’s go do it!]

Said something strange like that, making my head noisy.

I patted Luna’s back to signal her to be quiet, then slowly got up and nodded.

    “Do as you please.”

    “Yeah… thanks.”

With those words, Delia glanced around nervously before sitting on the bed, then awkwardly smiled and spoke to me.

“Well, it feels strange sitting here wearing only pajamas.”

    “……”

At those words, I had no choice but to silently avert my gaze.

As I mentioned earlier, Delia’s pajamas were quite thin, so her skin was visible when light hit it.

Sitting there so openly, Delia’s curves were quite prominent.

‘That’s why my eyes keep being drawn to her.’

As I was trying to calm myself by looking away.

Delia glanced at me and spoke.

“Ah, anyway… back to the main point. I have something to apologize to you about.”

    “What is it?”

“It’s about Rumi. I think I crossed a line, or maybe I meddled too much… anyway, something like that.”

Since that alone wasn’t enough explanation, I tilted my head slightly to signal her to explain in more detail.

Delia smiled awkwardly and continued speaking to me.

“… Originally, I was going to leave it alone since it was between the two of you. But Rumi tried to run away to the Heaven God Cult, so I ended up saying some pretty harsh things…”

To summarize, it’s a story about Delia speaking bluntly to Rumi to prevent her from leaving.

Since I didn’t hear the process, it was difficult to say anything about it.

Still, it was true that thanks to that, Rumi didn’t go to the Heaven God Cult, so I expressed my gratitude.

    “Well done.”

    “Huh?”

Delia looks at me with a surprised expression, as if she didn’t expect me to praise her for doing well.

I meet Delia’s eyes and repeat what I said earlier.

    “I said you did well.”

    “……”

    Eyes blinking rapidly.

Thinking that Delia’s reaction is somewhat cute, I slowly approach her and continue speaking.

“If Rumi tries to do something like that again in the future, please stop her in that way. I’m asking you.”

At those words, Delia stares at me with a blank expression.

Then, with a flustered look, she mutters softly.

    “Um… this isn’t right.”

    What’s not right?

I’m blinking my eyes, wondering if I did something wrong.

Delia starts looking around nervously and begins to insist on something.

“No…! Listen carefully. I said really terrible things to Rumi, okay? Like, ‘You idiot’ or ‘Go kill yourself,’ things like that?”

Certainly, those were excessively harsh things to say to Rumi, but.

I nodded in understanding, thinking that if she hadn’t said that much, I probably would have left without listening.

Delia seemed unsatisfied with my reaction and kept repeating the same thing.

“No, listen! They were really mean words, so Rumi’s feelings must have been hurt, you know?”

“I think it can’t be helped.”

“No! It’s not that it can’t be helped! You should say that even at times like that, one should be careful with their words! Why are you saying they did well? Scold them quickly! Hup.”

Delia, in the middle of speaking, perhaps because her true feelings slipped out.

She quickly covers her mouth with her hand and opens her eyes wide.

As I awkwardly smile at Delia’s behavior, Luna, who was next to me, says.

[It seems that female wants the master to scold her!]

Hearing that, I reluctantly decided to give her a scolding in exchange for the praise, and opened my mouth.

“… Alright. Then I’ll hold you responsible for that.”

At the mention of being held responsible, Delia’s eyes sparkled as she sat down politely.

Then, grinning, she hurriedly says something.

“So, um, my friend said… when someone does something wrong… uh, uh, uh.”

Suddenly repeating words like a broken machine, Delia’s face turned bright red as she shouted at me.

“The bottom… they said the bottom should be spanked.”

    “… What?”

When I asked back in confusion, Delia seemed to decide it wasn’t working.

She hugged my pillow, buried her face in it, and shouted loudly.

    “So, please… spank my bottom!”
