    Chapter 89: Magic Tower (7)

“I heard you’re quite the skilled mage.”

I recalled the description of the woman Sylvia had told me about. She was an outstanding mage. Her personality was terrible, but she was better than anyone at handling her superiors, and even though she wasn’t thirty yet, she had obtained access to the upper floors and could freely enter and exit the higher levels of the Magic Tower.

Moreover, she was so good at her job that she managed the warehouse alongside conducting her own research. Considering that she’d constantly come down to bother Sylvia yet still managed to get all her work done, it was clear she was incredibly sharp when it came to getting things done.

At first, I only thought about killing this woman who tormented Sylvia, but the more I examined her abilities, the more her competence shone through. Seeing her constantly reveal her talents as if screaming ‘Don’t kill me,’ I wanted to keep her alive and use her somehow.

For example, by utilizing her diligence and competence, which were more than enough to handle both her own work and bothering Sylvia simultaneously, it would be possible to teach Sylvia magic while avoiding the Magic Tower’s notice, and perhaps she could even bring me materials from the upper floors of the Magic Tower someday.

But this wasn’t as easy as it sounded. As expected of a mage with access to the upper floors, she was a stronger mage than me, and given the nature of my abilities, even if she were interested in me, conquering a woman stronger than myself was a gamble. I had to completely overwrite the opponent’s magic power with my demonic energy, but if the other party noticed before that happened, then it would become a life-or-death battle through sex.

    Sex is communication.

True sex, unlike a life-and-death struggle, could only be achieved by enjoying the feel of genitals with a relaxed and leisurely mind.

    I couldn’t do this alone.

But what if another demon were involved?

    The story changed.

When we returned to the basement we had agreed upon, a faint smell of sulfur wafted from the entrance. Whether it was because I’m a demon that I could smell it, the people wandering around the area didn’t notice anything strange at all.

I descended the stairs, avoiding people’s gazes.

    “Hmm……”

As soon as I arrived, Krik-Sai tilted his head with a displeased expression. I leaned against the doorway and said,

“See? That woman is definitely mine.”

    Krik-Sai nodded his rugged face.

“…..Yeah, I confirmed it. Your skills are impressive. I won’t ask where or how you seduced that woman. You said you wanted to make a deal, right?”

    “Right.”

I nodded, taking a step back just in case. Krik-Sai spread his wings wide, wrapping them around himself, then looked at me and said,

“But what’s in it for you with a deal like this? That woman is quite a strong priestess. You could gain more by using her than what an Imp like me can offer, so why do you want to deal with me?”

“I think I can convert her. I’ve been lying my way through, but soon they might actually exorcise me at the temple, so I need to wrap things up.”

Krik-Sai seemed to imagine the scene of praying at the temple, grimacing and shaking his head. The imp, shaking off his displeased expression, cleared his throat and said to me,

“I see. Alright, state your terms for the deal.”

“I intend to make a woman my thrall. I need your help.”

Krik-Sai’s eyes lit up. I met his shining eyes and nodded.

“Sylvia! You’re working hard again today! Eat this and take a break! Make sure to pass along my messages to Oppa, okay?”

    “Ah, yes… Ah, I understand.”

Sylvia wore a look of exhaustion from the woman’s efforts again today. The warehouse employees glared at her with disgust plastered on their faces, but as soon as she turned her head, they’d pretend to work diligently or look away.

I sat on a tree overlooking the warehouse and pointed at her, saying,

    “That’s the woman.”

Blue glints emerged from the shadows behind my back, and Krik-Sai materialized, poking his head out. He squinted, observed the woman closely, then looked at me and said,

    “She’s quite a strong mage.”

“And she’s interested in me. But her magic power is stronger than I thought, so I don’t think I can subdue her on my own. If you help me make her my thrall, I’ll help you take Lumia’s soul.”

“Specifically, what kind of help do you need?”

“I need some kind of secret method to absorb her magic power and leave her exhausted.”

Krik-Sai pondered for a moment, nodded, and said,

“That should be possible. I’ll lend you one of my magic tools. Follow me.”

Krik-Sai glanced around, turned, and flew deep into the forest. I followed Krik-Sai, moving from branch to branch. Upon arriving at a spot quite a distance from the Magic Tower, Krik-Sai drew a magic circle in the air and created a small, round portal.

    “Wait a moment.”

Then, Krik-Sai reached into the portal and pulled out a black orb, about the size of a fist, offering it to me.

    “Take this.”

    “What is this?”

I turned the stone-like object over in my hands, examining it closely. Each time I shone a light on it, it boasted a surface so smooth it elicited admiration, but I couldn’t find any other distinguishing features.

“It’s a gem that absorbs magic power. It works by infusing demonic energy into it. Try using it once.”

    “Let’s see…”

As I infused demonic energy from my fingertip, the entire orb began to tremble. Watching it shake violently as if an earthquake were happening inside, I urgently said to Krik-Sai,

“What the heck, how do I turn it off?”

“You turn it off the same way, by infusing demonic energy.”

    “Ah, got it. Like this?”

    “Good. You did very well.”

Krik-Sai nodded with a pleased expression, patted my shoulder, and said,

“Is this enough? My benefit depends on the success of your plan.”

I examined the orb again and nodded. With this, it seemed definitely possible.

“Great. This is enough. Then, after I make that woman my thrall, let’s meet again. How should I contact you?”

“Leave a message in the basement. I’ll set a date then.”

“Okay. Got it. See you then.”

    “Right. Succeed, Incubus.”

Krik-Sai gave me a firm fist bump, then spread his wings and disappeared into the darkness. Even after he vanished, I fiddled with the orb for a long while before tucking it into my pocket and started walking towards the Magic Tower.

Although I wore glasses, my appearance was decent enough, and my figure was fine too. Her snippy personality didn’t manifest in front of me, so that wasn’t an issue.

“When do the Magic Tower folks get off work?”

I started humming and walking towards the Magic Tower.

Quitting time. When it was Sylvia’s quitting time, that woman appeared like a ghost, opened the warehouse door, and sent Sylvia off. Sylvia, still looking unaccustomed, nodded at the woman’s greeting, and I stood in front of the warehouse as if to greet Sylvia, waving my hand.

    “Ah, uh…! No, Oppa!”

Sylvia, who was about to call me Evan-nim, quickly corrected herself after seeing my gesture. Startled by the call, the woman tidied her hair, adjusted her clothes, and began walking towards me with a demure posture. It was evident she was trying to act as naturally as possible, as if we’d met by chance today, but anyone could see the pretense in her every action.

“Oh, hello. You’re Sylvia’s Oppa, right? What a coincidence meeting you again like this.”

She said that while tucking her hair behind her ear. An awkward smile and a face that couldn’t meet my eyes. Fingers fidgeting constantly, unsure where to go.

The onlookers watched our standoff with tense expressions, seemingly hoping I’d notice her pretense, while Sylvia held my hand tightly. I extended my hand to the woman and said,

“Yes. It’s been a while. I heard you’ve been taking great care of Sylvia lately. Isn’t that right, Sylvia?”

Sylvia was the type to nod along to whatever I said, no matter how absurd. She hesitated slightly but soon nodded and said, as if it were obvious praise,

    “Ah, yes. I did.”

Her smile seemed a bit more natural now. Her eyes couldn’t hide her delight. I said to her,

“Actually, Sylvia is quite shy, so I was worried she wouldn’t adapt well at work. I’m so glad she met a superior like you who takes such good care of her. I’m so grateful, what should I do?”

    “Oh, no…! It’s… S-Sylvia is just a good kid, that’s why.”

As we exchanged insincere pleasantries and our eyes met, I smiled, and she turned her head away, fidgeting nervously. Wiggling her smaller breasts and smaller backside compared to Sylvia’s, she kept trying to appeal to me with her feminine charms.

“Still, since you’ve been so attentive… I’d like to offer my personal thanks. Is there any way I could?”

    “Oh, well… I shouldn’t… Hehe…”

Although she said she shouldn’t, she had no intention of refusing. Whatever offer I made, she would snatch it up like a fish taking the bait.

“I was thinking of treating you to a meal. Do you happen to have any time?”

    “T-t-time?”

The woman’s face turned bright red. From what I had investigated, she had never been in a relationship before.

    “H-h-how about… tomorrow?”

She must feel like this is all a dream.

I intended to send her to heaven, for real.
