Chapter 87: Magic Tower (5)
by Afuhfuihgs
The next morning, I was walking around the Magic Tower, carving letters with magic power. The corner of the forest where the demon had appeared, the basement where people didn’t go in and out, and even remote places quite far from the Magic Tower-I carved letters with magic power in all the gloomy places where a demon seemed likely to appear.
The content was simple.
[I want to meet you. Choose a place.]
According to Lumia’s deduction, the demon was likely hiding near this Magic Tower until the situation calmed down, and there was a high chance it was feeling psychologically pressured due to the appearance of a priest. If, at a time like this, another demon proposed meeting up and contacted secretly, there was a high chance it would meet them at least once, grasping at straws.
I finally carved letters in the forest and turned my body. Carving letters by emitting magic power was unfamiliar, so it was quite difficult.
Thus, a day passed. With bread in my mouth, I revisited the places I had walked around to check if the demon had replied. Once I confirmed there was no reaction from the demon, I would return to my lodging, read books, or finish the day by fucking Sylvia and Lumia after they got off work.
“How’s that woman these days?”
“Ah…! Sh-she’s treating me pretty well…! I-I don’t know why…!”
“Right? She keeps giving you food and acting friendly for no reason, doesn’t she?”
“Yeees…! Yeeeess…! Aah…!”
After thrusting hard into her, I stroked the head of the fallen her and asked about the recent situation at the Magic Tower. That ill-tempered old maid seemed to be treating Sylvia quite well since I arrived. Even when I caught glimpses of them, despite Sylvia overtly disliking it, she would visit and give her food, or call her name affectionately for no reason and send her off at quitting time-she was constantly trying to make up for the lost favor.
“Aaaaaah…!”
“Hoo…!”
After cumming, I pulled out my cock. After a long time accepting my cock, her buttocks were spitting out semen and returning to their original shape. No matter how much she struggled, Sylvia’s ass jiggled elastically like jelly.
“There are no particular results inside the Magic Tower either. And, they said the authority to pass through the upper levels of the Radia Magic Tower cannot be given to outsiders. Since I’m a special case, they are granting me the authority, but unless it’s another priest or someone whose abilities are clearly proven, they cannot issue a pass.”
Lumia, sprawled on the bed with a sweat-soaked face, told me so. My abilities were not something I could prove to those wizards, so there was no need to force my way in. Besides, hadn’t I found another woman whom I could meet outside? There was no merit for me in forcing my way into the upper levels.
“Can’t be helped. So now, we just have to wait for the demon’s contact, right? Will it really come?”
“It will come. Demons compete to devour each other, while also cooperating to take down priests-they are strange beings.”
This meant they had at least some sense of camaraderie. I, even after cumming, asked Sylvia, who was panting, flicking my stiff cock once with my finger.
“Sylvia. By the way, is she smart?”
“Y-yes… Well… Still, she’s someone who has authority to access the upper levels of the Magic Tower…”
I recalled her face again. The hysterical, bespectacled old maid had an ordinary face, and her figure was passable. Moreover, she was very magically competent and possessed access to the Magic Tower’s upper levels.
“Rather than killing her… she’d have a better use.”
I, stroking my cock, waited only for the day the demon would reply to me.
The reply came two days after that.
[Tonight. I’ll wait here.]
The letters written in magic power were clearly not mine. I cheered triumphantly and looked around. The place was among the Magic Tower’s basements, an unused, dusty space. Previously, a wizard had committed suicide in this place, and since then it had remained vacant.
I erased all the remaining magic power and then painted over it anew with my own energy.
[Brown hair. Blue eyes. Come here.]
And then, all I had to do was wait until nightfall again.
I didn’t bring any holy water. This time, it was because I needed to converse with the demon first. To find out this demon’s purpose and its backing forces, and the contractor who made a deal with this demon, I needed this guy to let his guard down.
I slipped past the entrance of the Magic Tower, where only night guards were patrolling, and ran inside, seizing an opportunity when no one was looking. When I enhanced my vision with magic power, I could see through even pitch-black darkness as clearly as broad daylight. To avoid being caught by the people working the night shift in the warehouse, I lowered my posture, and when I heard the old maid’s sweet voice, I had to freeze.
“Sylvia. Take the night off today. Okay? You get me? Tell my cousin to listen to me carefully. Got it?”
“Ah, yes…”
Sylvia’s awkwardness and the workers’ disapproving sighs combined with her abusing her authority to arbitrarily send the workers home, made the situation truly awkward. The woman, acting as if she had performed a great deed, strutted away, heading up the tower, while Sylvia awkwardly tidied up the equipment and said goodbye to the workers.
“Ah, well then… I’ll be going.”
“You’ve worked hard.”
“Fuck, can’t a single day go by peacefully? Huh? I thought she wasn’t bothering us. Now she’s trying to boil us alive. Damn bitch.”
The colorful curses and Sylvia’s retreating footsteps… I, chuckling, stepped onto the stairs leading down from the factory floor, and in the pitch-black darkness, sensed a faint trace of magic power. Before I arrived, the demon had already gotten here first. Perhaps deep inside this basement was his hiding spot.
I scanned the basement walls as I moved forward, deliberately dragging my feet so my footsteps echoed in the basement, and emitted magic power.
“…So you’re the one who signed.”
The voice that halted my movement was gloomy and deep. As I turned my head towards the source of the sound, piercing blue eyes shone brightly like will-o’-the-wisps in the darkness. Black wings, horns on his head, red skin, and a burly physique told me he was no ordinary being.
I flinched slightly at his size, but pretended not to be afraid, keeping my voice calm.
“Yes. Are you the demon who caused trouble here?”
“That’s right. You… Are you Milia’s subordinate? I smell that woman…”
The demon tilted its head, sniffing the air around me. As for him casually mentioning Milia’s name, I decided not to read too much into it. Demons are all disrespectful towards their superiors.
I shook my head and said.
“It’s a bit complicated. More importantly, who are you?”
“I am the second of the Imp brothers. Krik-Sai. You’re an Incubus? Incubi are rare, I didn’t expect to meet one like this.”
Krik-Sai? Intrigued by meeting an Incubus, I closely examined his gaze. Do Imps normally share names? I distinctly remember the Imp I met in Poar Village calling himself K-Sai.
I asked him.
“Do you know K-Sai?”
Krik-Sai heard my words, flapped his wings, and his eyes wavered. He rose from his considerable bulk, approached me, and asked.
“Do you know my brother?”
“I met him in Poar Village. He was a pretty decent guy.”
From the past tense “was a decent guy,” Krik-Sai seemed to sense something. His voice grew slightly higher, and his speech quickened.
“What happened to him?”
I told him the truth.
“He was captured and killed by a priest. Those cruel bastards. They poured holy water into his anus, tortured him, and then killed him.”
“Cruel bastards! How could they do such a thing!”
Krik-Sai seemed genuinely enraged, trembling. I put on a sad expression, nodded, and reached out as if to console him.
“I understand. K-Sai was a pretty decent guy. He was so happy about getting stronger by eating souls. I can still picture him.”
Red tears were flowing from Krik-Sai’s eyes. The tears hit the floor, hissed, and vaporized instantly. His body smelled of sulfur. Krik-Sai wiped away his tears and muttered.
“Grrr…! Cowardly priests…! I won’t forgive you…! If only I were a little, just a little stronger, I’ll definitely kill all those priests.”
“So, what are you doing here?”
“I’m looking for a human to make a contract with.”
“Didn’t you already make a contract? Signs of your contract were reportedly found, causing quite a stir.”
Krik-Sai scoffed at my question and said.
“Nonsense. The previous incident was merely an act to imprint my existence upon the people of this Magic Tower. While I lie hidden, and the priest stays in the tower for investigation, the people of the Magic Tower will be anxious about the stalled research, and those unable to show results will become desperate.”
Krik-Sai spread his arms and said.
“When the priest judges that the demon has fled, at that very moment! I will quietly reveal myself in the Magic Tower and propose a deal to some incompetent, greedy fool. By the time the priest realizes what’s going on and returns, I’ll already be long gone with the human’s soul.”
He was smarter than I expected. The fact that the Magic Tower’s research was currently halted, and the priest’s investigation, were all within his calculations. If it hadn’t been Lumia and me, but another priest, Krik-Sai’s scheme might have succeeded.
“I see.”
However, Krik-Sai was rather unlucky.
“Why did you seek me out? Did you just come to deliver the news of my brother’s death?”
“No. Out of all the demons, you met someone like me. I came with a better offer than your current plan.”
