Chapter 86 : Channel , Lee Jiah’s Worship Place
by fnovelpia
This anomalous phenomenon, tentatively called the “Black Hole,” was, in terms of danger, possibly the most severe anomaly to occur in the past year.
The Awakened Association was so desperate that they summoned Yui Seul.
And Yui Seul, being so desperate, even asked Lee Jiah for help.
If the range of the Black Hole had expanded even a little more, it could have caused damage in civilian areas, not just within the anomaly occurrence zones.
No.
In fact, it had already caused damage in civilian areas.
The dust created by the Black Hole covered everything in the vicinity.
The dust was so intense that even journalists, who would normally risk their lives for a scoop, were forced to flee.
After the anomaly was resolved, Yui Seul and Lee Jiah went to the Awakened Association, where they used an item that purges impurities from the body to clear their airways.
With each exhale, sandstorms would come out, and without the item, they would still be suffering from the dust.
Thus, this anomaly—tentatively called the Black Hole—was quite a headache for the Awakened Association as well.
In order to investigate the truth behind the incident, Lee Jiah and Yui Seul were summoned.
Since the anomaly had already caused damage in civilian areas, investigating the truth was not an option but a necessity.
It was not a case of arrogance, but a justified action.
However, who was Yui Seul?
Ten years ago, when anomalies first began to appear, she was a national hero who fought on the frontlines to protect humanity alongside Ye Jeong-hwan.
She was also a well-known Awakened who had a reputation for being rude.
She had no intention of investigating the truth.
Yui Seul, who had sent Lee Jiah home first, reluctantly agreed to the summons from the Truth Investigation Committee.
However, just because she agreed didn’t mean she would cooperate.
“I told you, I already solved it.”
“Yui Seul, it’s problematic if you act like this. At least explain things in a logical order…”
“I don’t like repeating myself. I solved it, okay? Whatever happened, it’s solved. If you think I’m lying, just call Kim Jung-hwan and have him verify it.”
She was relentless.
No matter how much power the Awakened Association’s Truth Investigation Committee wielded, dealing with Yui Seul, the national hero with the worst personality, was no easy task.
In the end, the next morning, the three of them were forced into a confrontation.
Yui Seul, the one who solved the anomaly; Ye Jeong-hwan, the chairman of the Awakened Association; and Kim Jung-hwan, the person capable of distinguishing truth from lies, and also Lee Jiah’s supervisor.
Ye Jeong-hwan stroked his chin, deep in thought, and then said to Yui Seul:
“There must have been a reason you said it that way. Don’t worry, I’ll cover for you. You don’t need to stress.”
“Of course you should cover for me.”
“…I just wish you’d show a little gratitude. Do you think it’s easy being the target of both politics and the media?”
“You put yourself in that position. So, old man, handle it.”
“Damn you.”
Surprisingly, Ye Jeong-hwan had no intention of investigating the truth of the incident either.
He trusted Yui Seul—no, it wasn’t just trust; it was near-unfathomable trust.
Ten years ago, when the anomalies first appeared, they had fought side by side, sharing life-and-death situations.
That’s the kind of relationship they had.
Kim Jung-hwan was left in shock.
He had thought he was summoned for the purpose of investigating the truth behind the incident.
“Hey, how old is your daughter now?”
“Ugh, what a rude girl. How dare you call my precious little princess ‘daughter’? She’s already in elementary school.”
“Already? Time sure flies. Honestly, when you told me your wife was about to give birth and then disappeared on me to handle that anomaly, I wanted to rip every hair off your head.”
“Ah, I’m sorry about that… So, about lunch…?”
Ye Jeong-hwan and Yui Seul were having a casual conversation about what to eat for lunch, making it hard for anyone to stay composed.
In the end, Kim Jung-hwan couldn’t help but speak up.
“Uh… the truth investigation…”
“Oh, right, you’re here too. This is just a formal meeting, so let’s just kill time and have lunch together.”
“Just eat whatever’s served.”
“…Yes.”
Kim Jung-hwan thought to himself,Ah.
I really want to watch Ayase’s broadcast.
***
When I woke up, I found myself staring at a strange ceiling.
Not a completely unfamiliar ceiling, but the second time I’ve seen it.
Right.
This is my new home now.
“Haahhh…”
I let out a big yawn, and even though I was fully awake, I had no intention of getting out of bed.
I was so tired.
Not physically tired, but mentally exhausted.
I tried to sort out everything that happened yesterday in my head, but it wasn’t coming together well.
It was an overload of information.
So much information had been forcibly injected into my brain all at once yesterday.
Well, no matter how much I try to organize my thoughts, nothing changes.
After all, I’m a puppet of the gods.
I just do what I’m told.
I carry out my duties while seeking my own happiness in my own way.
The broadcast studio was set up in the basement.
Having a big house wasn’t all advantages.
In my old place, I could sit at my computer desk as soon as I got out of bed, so turning on the computer wasn’t a hassle.
But now, it feels like it’s ages before I get to the computer.
Even going down the stairs felt like a chore, so I decided to finish all my daily quests while still in bed.
One of the daily quests:Cafe exploration.
Exploring cafes had become a part of my daily routine.
Of course, my fan cafe wasn’t as huge as Ayase’s fan cafe.
I can confidently say that our firepower is never lacking.
The followers definitely excel in firepower.
A new popular post was uploaded to the cafe.

Kyaaaaaa!
I’ll enjoy it again this time…!
The editing is tasty.
Did the confession video drop?
It dropped!!!!!!!
But isn’t this an illegal chain store?
It’s fine if we enjoy it among ourselves, but isn’t it a bit much to post a video link in the cafe?
ㄴ That’s true, but if it was a problem, the manager would’ve taken it down by now.
ㄴ The fact is, the manager is also a subscriber to this channel, haha.
ㄴ I’ve seen the manager often in the comments.
ㄴ Manager gay.

Hmm.
My Kirinuki channel, ‘Lee Jiah’s Worship Service’ new video is up.
There’s a pretty common and unique culture in the VTuber fandom.
Some people take the interesting parts of a VTuber’s live broadcast, edit them nicely, and upload them to video platforms.
These people are called clippers or kirinuki.
Most VTuber kirinuki channels upload videos without permission from the VTuber, making them illegal chain stores.
Some kirinuki do get permission through donations, but many don’t.
At least, this ‘Lee Jiah’s Worship Service’ didn’t ask me for permission.
Despite the copyright issues, this ‘kirinuki’ culture became popular because it greatly helps the VTuber’s channel.
Internet live streams inherently have barriers to entry.
Long broadcast hours, chatrooms filled with the show’s atmosphere, grid program installations, etc… For people not really interested in internet broadcasting, it’s not an easy process to even click on a stream.
However, the short clips uploaded to kirinuki channels are quite interesting and easy to watch, even for people who aren’t familiar with VTubers or internet broadcasts.
Therefore, kirinuki channels and VTubers can be seen as having a symbiotic relationship.
They help bring in viewers, so there’s really no reason for VTubers to suppress kirinuki channels.
In fact, some corporate companies even manage kirinuki channels.
Even I enjoy watching kirinuki channels a lot.
While I try to watch Ayase’s broadcast from start to finish,It’s impossible to keep up with other VTuber live streams due to time constraints.
I usually only check out the fun clips from kirinuki channels for VTubers I’m somewhat interested in.
“…”
But.
After seeing the new video uploaded to “Lee Jiah’s Worship Service,”I’m seriously starting to feel the urge to crack down on them.
The video’s title was “Holy Power Pouch Bang! LOL”and the thumbnail… was a zoom-in of me in a nun’s outfit with a hole in the chest—a very provocative thumbnail, to say the least.
Yeah.
I get it.
I know that using provocative thumbnails and titles makes people click on the video.
Still, the fact that I’m the subject of the video just doesn’t sit well with me.
As for the content of the video…well.
Can’t deny it.
It was entertaining and well-made.
The editing was snappy and they knew exactly what viewers want.
Even though it was uploaded just two hours ago, it already had over 10,000 views.
For a kirinuki channel, that’s suspiciously large-scale.
And the reason this channel grew so big?
Undoubtedly.
[This Holy Power Pouch isn’t roleplay, it’s the real deal.]
That half-cam clip video.
That video already hit over a million views.
A kirinuki clip getting a million views?
That’s not something you hit unless it becomes a hot topic across multiple communities and gets picked up by the algorithm.
The video platform—YouTube (U-tube).
For some reason, they allow account creation without identity verification,so people can make throwaway accounts endlessly, aka “burner accounts.”
As a result—The comment section of the half-cam video was pure chaos.
Just a little peek behind that curtain reveals.
[God, I just wanna bury my face in it and die.]
[Look at those milk jugs.]
[Damn, look at those tits.]
[Holy sh*t they’re huge.]
[Ughhhh… f**k… kids these days get turned on by this kinda… uh… borderline porn? I hate seeing them strip and act like idiots… This country’s going straight to hell~]
Yeah, let’s stop there.
“…”
This is.
Before the channel grows even bigger,in the name of God.
I might really need to crack down on it.
