Chapter 86 : Channel , Lee Jiah’s Worship Place

This anomalous phenomenon, tentatively called the “Black Hole,” was, in terms of danger, possibly the most severe anomaly to occur in the past year.

“I don’t like repeating myself. I solved it, okay? Whatever happened, it’s solved. If you think I’m lying, just call Kim Jung-hwan and have him verify it.”

No matter how much power the Awakened Association’s Truth Investigation Committee wielded, dealing with Yui Seul, the national hero with the worst personality, was no easy task.

In the end, the next morning, the three of them were forced into a confrontation.

Yui Seul, the one who solved the anomaly; Ye Jeong-hwan, the chairman of the Awakened Association; and Kim Jung-hwan, the person capable of distinguishing truth from lies, and also Lee Jiah’s supervisor.

Ye Jeong-hwan stroked his chin, deep in thought, and then said to Yui Seul:

“There must have been a reason you said it that way. Don’t worry, I’ll cover for you. You don’t need to stress.”

“Of course you should cover for me.”

“…I just wish you’d show a little gratitude. Do you think it’s easy being the target of both politics and the media?”

“You put yourself in that position. So, old man, handle it.”

Surprisingly, Ye Jeong-hwan had no intention of investigating the truth of the incident either.

My Kirinuki channel, ‘Lee Jiah’s Worship Service’ new video is up.

There’s a pretty common and unique culture in the VTuber fandom.

Some people take the interesting parts of a VTuber’s live broadcast, edit them nicely, and upload them to video platforms.

These people are called clippers or kirinuki.

Most VTuber kirinuki channels upload videos without permission from the VTuber, making them illegal chain stores.

Some kirinuki do get permission through donations, but many don’t.

At least, this ‘Lee Jiah’s Worship Service’ didn’t ask me for permission.

Despite the copyright issues, this ‘kirinuki’ culture became popular because it greatly helps the VTuber’s channel.

Internet live streams inherently have barriers to entry.

Long broadcast hours, chatrooms filled with the show’s atmosphere, grid program installations, etc… For people not really interested in internet broadcasting, it’s not an easy process to even click on a stream.

However, the short clips uploaded to kirinuki channels are quite interesting and easy to watch, even for people who aren’t familiar with VTubers or internet broadcasts.

Therefore, kirinuki channels and VTubers can be seen as having a symbiotic relationship.

They help bring in viewers, so there’s really no reason for VTubers to suppress kirinuki channels.

In fact, some corporate companies even manage kirinuki channels.

Even I enjoy watching kirinuki channels a lot.

While I try to watch Ayase’s broadcast from start to finish,It’s impossible to keep up with other VTuber live streams due to time constraints.

I usually only check out the fun clips from kirinuki channels for VTubers I’m somewhat interested in.

I get it.

I know that using provocative thumbnails and titles makes people click on the video.

Still, the fact that I’m the subject of the video just doesn’t sit well with me.

As for the content of the video…well.

Can’t deny it. 

It was entertaining and well-made.

The editing was snappy and they knew exactly what viewers want.

Even though it was uploaded just two hours ago, it already had over 10,000 views.

For a kirinuki channel, that’s suspiciously large-scale.

And the reason this channel grew so big? 

Undoubtedly.

That video already hit over a million views.

A kirinuki clip getting a million views?

That’s not something you hit unless it becomes a hot topic across multiple communities and gets picked up by the algorithm.

The video platform—YouTube (U-tube).

For some reason, they allow account creation without identity verification,so people can make throwaway accounts endlessly, aka “burner accounts.”

As a result—The comment section of the half-cam video was pure chaos.
