Chapter 85: First Meeting with Glim
by fnovelpia
Ryu Arim entering the stream first?
This was a first in my life.
We had already agreed not to get involved with each other on stream if we could help it.
‘Well, getting entangled unintentionally is kind of inevitable sometimes.’
But barging into each other’s streams like this wasn’t something I was fond of.
Still, I figured I’d at least hear what she wanted.
“I do have time… Is something going on?”
If Ryu Arim came all the way into the stream, that meant it must’ve been something urgent.
I asked again, wondering just how serious it could be.
[RyuArim has donated 1,000 won!]
—It’s nothing major, but I was wondering if there’s anything I should keep in mind before going to the Heart Memorial event.
Although we agreed to be casual with each other when streaming together, it seemed harder for her to speak informally in chat.
The way she used honorifics showed that.
‘She could’ve just spoken casually.’
I made a mental note to give her a heads-up about that later and responded.
“Hmm… not much, really. You don’t need to overthink it—just go and have fun.”
[Yeah]
[+HurryAndLeave: it’s honestly not that big a deal]
[It was fun tho lol]
[Wait, Ryu Arim’s into Heart Memorial too? I’ve never seen her play it on stream]
[Pepe: Everyone plays Heart Memorial on the down low, apparently]
[Hmm…]
I wasn’t particularly surprised that Ryu Arim was interested in Heart Memorial.
After all, we had worked on something related together.
What I was curious about was her intent behind asking.
‘She should already know the layout roughly.’
She must’ve had some kind of reason for bringing it up.
I got a bit suspicious and said.
“Do you want me to guide you around?”
I said it without thinking.
I didn’t expect her to actually ask me to be her guide, after all.
But just as I said it.
[RyuArim has donated 10,000 won!]
—Oh, really? You don’t mind??
Ryu Arim suddenly accepted.
It caught me a little off guard.
‘She’s actually agreeing to that?’
It was so far from what I expected.
A bit dumbfounded, I gave a reply while texting with both hands.
“Uh… well, just message me. I’ll guide you around tomorrow.”
[+HurryAndLeave: You’re actually going to guide her? dd]
[What kind of person is this lol]
[Guiding her like that? That’s insane]
[Pepe: Wait, are you meeting in real life?]
[What? There’s another day?]
[I didn’t know it was still going on tomorrow lol]
“For anyone who might not know—this event isn’t just a one-day thing. It goes on for three days in a row. Just a heads-up.”
I assumed everyone already knew, but thinking about it, there wasn’t really a way for people to find out.
Unless you went to the event yourself, there wasn’t any official notice going around.
That’s why I made the announcement myself.
[Oh dang, I didn’t know that]
[+HurryAndLeave: Anyone going tomorrow, press g]
[It’s worth checking out really]
[More than worth—it was just fun honestly lol]
[I’m planning to go again]
[Pepe: Come on, everyone’s got time—just go at least once lol]
Then, a moment later.
[Ryu Arim: Ah, Sunbae]
[Ryu Arim: I just wanted to go with you once]
[Ryu Arim: And I thought it might be easier to bring it up during the stream…]
Ryu Arim sent a message.
“Hm…”
If that was the reason, I could understand.
Sometimes it’s easier to say something in front of an audience than to say it directly.
“Guess I’ll have to get ready to head out again tomorrow. It’s the first time I’ve gone out two days in a row like this.”
[+HurryAndLeave: Certified homebody lol]
[Home is nice though]
[If you’re going out again tomorrow, won’t the stream be late?]
[Yotte always starts the stream on time though, no need to doubt him nn]
[Of all things, his stream is always on time—why are you even questioning that?]
Just as we were chatting.
[Glim has donated 1,000 won!]
—Then, can I come along too tomorrow?
Glim suddenly jumped into the conversation.
It was a surprising turn of events.
She hadn’t said anything in chat for a while, so I thought she’d left the stream—but apparently, she’d been watching the whole time.
‘It’d be weird to reject her now.’
Saying yes to Ryu Arim but no to Glim would definitely come across the wrong way.
It would be no different from showing favoritism.
So.
“Uh… if Ryu Arim’s okay with it, sure, we should all go together.”
I added a condition.
Only if Ryu Arim agreed.
That way, I could avoid a potentially awkward situation.
[+HurryAndLeave: Will Ryu Arim even want to go with her?]
[Honestly, feels like she won’t want to lol]
[Looks like she’s not into the idea lmaoooo]
[Pepe: But asking is the right thing to do tbh]
[Glim: Ryu Arim]
[Glim: Is that okay?]
[Ryu Arim: I mean, for me]
[Ryu Arim: I don’t mind]
[Glim: Then let’s go together]
And just like that, the group for tomorrow had been unintentionally formed.
My head felt a little dizzy at how unexpected it all was, but I resumed the stream.
The next day.
I was already at the event venue.
And pretty early too.
‘Didn’t think I’d be back here again so soon.’
I came yesterday thinking it’d be a one-time visit, so I tried to enjoy everything as much as I could.
And now, here I am again just one day later.
I was thinking things like, “If I knew I’d be back, I would’ve saved some of it for today.”
While I was waiting with those thoughts.
“Sunbae!”
Ryu Arim appeared, all dressed up.
Her outfit was completely different from what I usually saw her wear at university.
You could definitely tell she’d put effort into her look.
“You dressed up today, huh?”
“Well, it’s a day out, so of course I had to dress up!”
“Fair enough.”
While casually chatting with Ryu Arim, a thought crossed my mind.
“Come to think of it, this’ll be the first time meeting Glim in person, right?”
“Yeah. I’ve been wanting to meet her at least once.”
I wasn’t particularly interested in Glim’s appearance, but I had briefly seen posts about her on fan communities before.
From what I remembered, she looked really gentle.
‘Well, not that it matters.’
It’s not like there were romantic feelings involved—what does it matter whether someone’s pretty or not?
As long as we get along, that’s what counts.
I was thinking that as we waited.
Step, step.
Someone with a vaguely familiar look appeared near the event venue.
And then.
“…Isn’t that her? She looks familiar.”
“Oh, yeah, I think that’s her.”
Glim.
Glim gave off a soft and warm vibe.
Her wavy hair flowed gently down to her shoulders and shimmered slightly,
and her eyes were a clear, light brown.
“She looks a bit different from the photos.”
“…Yeah, she does.”
She did look somewhat like how she appeared on her fan cafe, but in person, she was on a completely different level.
It felt a little like seeing a celebrity.
Maybe it was because she appeared on other streams too—she seemed to take care of her appearance.
Thinking it was kind of fascinating, I slowly walked over and called out to Glim, who was wearing a newsboy cap.
“Excuse me.”
“Yes?”
Actually speaking to her directly felt a little awkward.
Her eyes sparkled way too much.
She didn’t feel overwhelming at all during streams, though.
Thinking that, I continued.
“Glim-nim?”
“Ah… yes, that’s me.”
“Phew…”
If it hadn’t been her, this would’ve been super embarrassing.
Relieved, I said.
“I’m Yotte.”
“Oh—really!?”
“Yep, it’s me.”
“Oh…!”
And just like that, we officially started talking.
While we were slowly walking around and looking at the venue.
A complete stranger came up and spoke to us.
Their outfit looked neatly put together.
A guy came to a place like this?
It was honestly kind of surprising.
It’s not often you see a man at an event like this.
I was still thinking how unusual it was when.
“Excuse me.”
“Yes?”
“Are you… Glim-nim, by any chance?”
I looked up at the sudden voice.
And then our eyes met.
He had a very handsome face.
The kind of looks that most women would find extremely attractive.
“Ah… yes, that’s me.”
“Phew.”
A slightly nervous breath.
The atmosphere clearly showed he was a little tense, which made me let out a soft laugh.
But why did he call out to me?
He didn’t seem like someone I knew.
I was wondering that when.
“I’m… Yotte.”
“…Ah, really?”
I realized instantly.
Someone I only knew by name, only online—was now standing right in front of me.
There were no grand introductions or dramatic gestures, but it was clear he wasn’t lying.
This aura was exactly how I had imagined Yotte to be.
Maybe that’s why.
I started feeling a little nervous too.
As I was gently brushing my hair.
“Hello.”
A woman appeared next to Yotte.
When I heard her voice.
“Oh, are you… Ryu Arim-nim?”
“Yes, that’s me.”
It was indeed Ryu Arim.
‘…This should be fun.’
Originally, I came to the event on a spontaneous whim.
But now, it felt like a lot of interesting things were about to happen.
Feeling excited, the three of us entered the event venue.
