Chapter 82: Michel’s Temple
by AfuhfuihgsUgh…
To suddenly be told to go to the Demon World…
Seeing the blood-red mist that had been seeping from my sword on its own for a while now, it seemed this one was looking forward to going.
Lady Solaris did say it was a demonic sword, steeped in curses.
‘Are you from the Demon World after all…?’
As I looked down at Crimson Bind, the red mist seemed to have grown thicker.
Almost as if it had been eavesdropping on my thoughts.
Could this sword really understand what I’m thinking right now?
At that thought, the mist suddenly became even thicker.
Ack, it was really listening!
“Alright, Ricoris, before you go to the Demon World, I’ll tell you a few things to be careful about!”
Lady Mikel strode up to me and placed both her hands on my shoulders.
Her golden eyes looked more serious than ever before.
In that instant, the entire colosseum fell silent, and even Miel’s fluttering seemed to stop.
“The Demon World is crawling with evil gods!
Among them are some strange ones who especially like cute girls like you.
If someone shows interest in you, saying they like you, you must chant a very important spell!”
Lady Mikel’s expression grew grave.
A spell?
Is there a special spell to defend against a situation like that?
Could it be a new power from Lady Mikel?
“No!
I don’t want to!
Don’t do it!”
Huh…?
That’s the spell?
“And you must ask for help from those around you!
This is the most important spell for protecting yourself!
Remember that!”
Lady Mikel spoke with great seriousness, but the way the pink tips of her hair swayed slightly as she spoke looked strangely cute.
“Mikel, they’re all evil gods there.
Is that going to work?”
Lady Solaris sighed at Lady Mikel’s words, pressing a hand to her forehead.
The expression on her face clearly said, ‘How many more times do I have to explain this?’
“Ah!
That’s right!”
Lady Mikel’s expression changed in a flash.
Her eyes went wide as if she had just had a great realization.
“Then you have to sneak carefully to the evil gods’ passage!
Don’t get caught by anyone!”
“Where is the evil gods’ passage?”
When I asked, Lady Mikel shrugged with a bright smile.
“I don’t know, of course!
You have to find it yourself!”
Ehhh…
A shiver ran down my spine as I thought about what might happen in the Demon World.
A world full of evil gods!
And I have to find the passage myself there?
What if I fail and get trapped in the Demon World forever?
I should have just stayed quietly in the carriage!
Or I should have just used this power on any random monster!
“That sun has no divine power and is only visible to you, so it’s fine.”
Suddenly, I heard Lady Solaris’s voice speaking to Miel.
Hmm?
A sun?
It seems Miel received something…
Can I not see it?
“What is it?”
“Miel seemed to be having a hard time, so I gave it a small gift.
It’s a little sun that conveys its thoughts to me.”
Lady Solaris said with a slight smile.
Her smile was so dazzling that for a moment, I almost had to look away.
I’m so jealous!
I want a gift too!
“Ah!
Right!
I should give a gift too!”
Lady Mikel suddenly clapped her hands.
“Before you go to the Demon World, let’s go to my temple first!
There are things there you can use!”
Yay!
Lady Mikel is the best!
My heart pounded with anticipation for what kind of gift it might be.
“Now, follow me!”
Following Lady Mikel’s words, we all went outside the colosseum.
When we got outside, my jaw dropped at the sight before me.
It was a sky filled with an endless expanse of fluffy clouds.
And there were clouds beneath our feet as well.
I took a careful step, and it felt like walking on clouds in zero gravity.
When my foot touched the cloud, the texture was incredibly soft and cottony.
It’s like walking on the softest cotton candy in the world!
And right next to us was a colossal temple.
It felt exactly like the temples of the gods I used to see in the Greek and Roman mythology comics of my childhood.
A massive, magnificent, and beautiful temple resting on white clouds…
Dazzlingly bright pillars, a golden roof, and a large, ornate door…
Everything was overwhelming.
“Whoa!”
“This is my temple!
What do you think?
Isn’t it cool?”
Lady Mikel puffed out her chest and said proudly.
The light emanating from the temple made her golden hair shine even more brilliantly.
It’s so cool!
It truly felt like the dwelling of a god!
“Lady Mikel, it’s really amazing!”
As we walked towards the temple, I couldn’t stop smiling at the feeling of walking on clouds.
To think I’m actually experiencing a scene I’ve only ever seen in dreams!
“Oh, by the way, this colosseum suddenly appeared when I became New Mikel!”
Lady Mikel said, turning her steps to the side and pointing at the colosseum.
There it is again!
New Mikel!
“What on earth is New Mikel?”
“Heehee!
That’s a secret!”
Lady Mikel smiled playfully and put a finger to her lips.
Ugh!
Lady Mikel is so cute!
But looking at Lady Solaris’s expression, it seemed there was some complicated story behind it.
I’m curious, but it’s a god’s secret, so I can’t force her to tell me…
“Mikel, do you have anything suitable as a gift?
If it has divine power, the evil gods will detect her.”
Lady Solaris asked Lady Mikel.
Her expression was still serious, but her voice held a hint of worry.
“Huhu!
It’s fine!
You’ll be surprised when you see it too!”
Lady Mikel said confidently to Lady Solaris.
Seeing her so full of confidence, it seemed there really was an amazing gift.
What could it be!
What kind of gift is waiting for me?
I was thrilled just imagining it!
Finally, we entered Lady Mikel’s temple.
It was magnificent from the outside, but the feeling was even stronger once we were inside.
The ceiling soared high into the sky, and the walls were filled with beautiful reliefs blending gold and silver.
Mysterious patterns were carved into each pillar, and the floor shone like a mirror, reflecting my image.
Everything was so divine and unreal; it truly felt like I was in the world of the gods.
With every step, I felt a sacred energy spreading from the tips of my toes throughout my entire body.
I followed Lady Mikel deep into the temple.
After passing through several doors, we finally entered her room.
It was a pure white room with a very comfortable-looking cloud bed, a cloud sofa, and various pieces of furniture that looked like they were made of marble.
Tiny stars twinkled on the ceiling, and the entire room was bathed in a soft golden light.
But there was a large window in the room, and through the window, I could see my carriage moving!
It was as clear as a TV screen!
“Oh!
That’s my carriage!”
“That’s right!
I was watching you through this window!”
Lady Mikel said, walking towards the window.
The window truly showed my carriage running across the plains.
Inside the carriage, Ryandel and Leivi were talking to each other with anxious expressions.
But I couldn’t hear the sound, so I didn’t know what they were talking about.
To think she was watching over me from her temple like this!
This must be the power of a god!
But my admiration was brief, as a wave of embarrassment washed over me.
If Lady Mikel had been watching my every move…
I remembered tripping while running to protect my chastity from the Bugz, and the memory of my Master rubbing me better.
My face grew hot.
Ah, right!
My Master!
“Can I see my Master through this window too!?”
My voice was thick with anticipation.
It would be so wonderful if I could see my Master.
“Of course!”
Lady Mikel waved her hands in front of the window.
The scenery in the window changed in an instant.
There was a sky with black snow falling heavily, a frozen land, and in the middle of it all, a beautiful white dragon.
Its hard scales shone like moonlight, and its intense blue eyes seemed to glare at the world.
I could feel my Master’s majesty even through the screen.
Wow!
Master!
You’re so cool!
My heart swelled seeing my Master freezing everything on such a massive scale.
My Master is amazing, as expected!
“What?
Did something like this happen in the human world?”
Lady Solaris asked Lady Mikel.
A hint of surprise flickered across her face.
“Huh?
I told you last time!”
Lady Mikel said, looking at Lady Solaris.
She shrugged, pointing at the window showing my Master.
“Did you…
I must have been listening too carelessly.
It looks like a lot of humans died, is that okay?”
Lady Solaris asked Lady Mikel.
The window showed the figures of frozen soldiers.
“They’re not my followers, so it’s fine!”
Lady Mikel said as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Oh!
So Lady Mikel doesn’t care if people die as long as they’re not her followers!
I had a great realization.
As expected of the god of blood and slaughter…
I guess it doesn’t matter if non-followers die in battle.
This is really important information!
“Mikel, you…”
Lady Solaris started to say something to Lady Mikel with a strange look in her eyes, but then stopped.
She then began to whisper something quietly to Miel.
Why can’t I hear!
I’m curious!
What are you saying?
In the meantime, Lady Mikel changed the scene in the window again.
A landscape filled with hazy smoke and disgustingly grotesque undead on land that seemed to be pitch-black and contaminated appeared.
The living corpses were so disgusting that just thinking about them gave me goosebumps.
When Lady Mikel zoomed in the window a bit more, I saw Nis enjoying tea at a luxurious black table.
A black mist-like substance surrounded Nis, and from that mist, corpses were constantly rising.
Nis is incredibly strong too…
The sight of my Master and Nis attacking the world together was truly overwhelming.
Either one of them alone would be immense, but for both of them to be together!
“Haaah…”
Huh?
“Ricoris was a cute little seed that only I knew, but she’s gotten too popular…”
Lady Mikel said sadly.
A hint of disappointment colored her golden eyes.
Uh…
Suddenly, I felt like I was being asked the classic “Who do you like more, Mom or Dad?” question.
But honestly, if it weren’t for Lady Mikel, I wouldn’t be who I am now.
If Lady Mikel hadn’t given me her blood, I might still be a seed, unable to sprout.
I hugged Lady Mikel tightly and said.
“I like you the best, Lady Mikel!”
I truly meant it.
Of course, I like my Master the best too, but you can have two bests!
Wait, does ‘best’ come from the number one?
Does that mean there can only be one?
Ugh…
I don’t know!
I’m going to have two!
Lady Mikel smiled brightly and stroked my head.
“Mhm!
I’m the best, right?”
Hehe.
Lady Mikel’s touch was so warm and comforting that I felt happy.
To be liked so much by her, it’s truly an honor!
“Miel says it’s going to tell Frostia.”
Lady Solaris suddenly said.
Her voice was laced with mischief.
Hey!
Are you crazy!
I glared at Miel.
In response, Miel fluttered around me tauntingly.
Seeing that made me even angrier.
Normally, the answer to a question like this is different in front of your mom versus your dad!
“Heehee!
Miel, make sure you deliver the message well!”
Ah…
Nooo!
Lady Mikel laughed and brought over a strange-looking box from the corner of the room.
The box was decorated with a weird pattern of black and purple.
It had a completely different feel from the bright and splendid atmosphere of the heavens.
“Here!
Take whatever you want from inside!”
Lady Mikel said as she opened the box.
Inside, it was filled with items that didn’t seem to belong in the heavens, like black, red, and purple things.
From strangely shaped accessories to weapons glowing with a black light, and items of bizarre forms…
Everything in the box emanated an aura of darkness.
“These are the evil gods’ equipment!
Why do you have this!”
Lady Solaris said in surprise.
The look on her face was one of genuine shock.
“Fufufu!
Five thousand years ago, after defeating the evil gods and the gods from another world, nobody cleaned up, so I went and picked these up while tidying!”
Lady Mikel said proudly.
Her face was filled with satisfaction.
Lady Mikel is so resourceful
