Chapter 82 : Group Off Collaboration
by fnovelpia
Arin and Ahyeon’s long, lengthy advice and interference continued.
Finally, the time for the off collaboration arrived.
Today’s content is a best friend test where the three of us will participate.
We will give questions about me and choices, and the one who answers correctly will get points!
The person with the higher score will receive the ‘Yuki and Haru date ticket,’ a fun project like that.
While I was preparing for the broadcast, Ahyeon approached me and asked.
To avoid accidentally revealing our real names, we had been calling each other by our broadcast nicknames for the past thirty minutes.
“Mom, how many questions are there?”
In that moment, Arin screamed as if she was disgusted.
“Ugh, that’s way too many! Even if we know each other well, answering these questions is a whole different problem!”
I smiled and turned my head with a chuckle at Arin’s whining.
“Well? If they’re my fans, they’d definitely get them all right, right?”
“No, even if we’re fans, this is just too much, don’t you think?”
Arin grabbed the paper with a flustered look and started skimming through the questions.
However, her expression gradually became more serious.
“…Wait a minute, Unnie. Did you purposely make these questions hard?”
“Huh? These are just ordinary questions.”
I shrugged nonchalantly.
Then Arin shook the paper and picked one to read aloud.
“Here, listen. ‘What is the title of the most recent movie Yuki watched?’ Is this an ordinary question!?”
“Well~ You should know that kind of thing~”
“No, how are we supposed to know that!?”
“Well, here’s a hint—”
I rested my chin on my hand and pretended to be serious.
“The movie wasn’t a recent release, but it had an emotional atmosphere, and in the final scene, the main character ultimately leaves.”
“Not that kind of hint!!”
Arin yelled.
I giggled and glanced at Ahyeon.
“Yui, do you have any idea?”
Ahyeon tilted her head slightly.
“Well… I know that Mom likes emotional movies, but I don’t think she’s mentioned which movie she recently watched?”
“See? That’s why it’s a hard question!”
Arin raised her hand, seeking support.
I leaned back in my chair and crossed my arms.
“Right, right. Then, how about this one?”
I pulled out another sheet of paper and read one of the questions.
“What’s the game Yuki has played the most?”
Arin and Ahyeon spoke at the same time.
“Apex Legends.”
I chuckled and clapped my hands.
“Oh, good. Looks like both of you got it right?”
“That’s too easy!!”
Arin puffed her cheeks and voiced her dissatisfaction.
I shrugged my shoulders and said,
“Well, it’s a best friend test, so of course, you should get this right. Come on, come on, don’t worry too much. Let’s all do our best to answer the questions.”
“Ha…”
Arin sighed.
Then, suddenly, she glared at me as if she had realized something.
“By the way, Unnie.”
“Yeah?”
“No matter how I think about it, these questions feel like they’ve been prepared with a test-taker’s mindset?”
“Oh, come on~”
I subtly avoided her gaze.
Then Arin slammed the table and said,
“But this is a problem for a Yuki and Haru date ticket, right?! But these questions are way too hard to score points on!”
“Well… Are you saying you’re not confident about winning?”
I provocatively smiled.
Arin flinched.
And then, she blushed and gritted her teeth.
“…Hmph. Fine. Let’s do this.”
Seeing her reaction, I secretly chuckled inside.
Arin was very competitive.
If you slightly provoke her, she’ll actually try even harder.
I glanced at Ahyeon.
“Yui, what do you think? Do you think these questions are doable?”
Ahyeon smiled quietly and flipped the paper with her fingertips.
Then, in a calm voice, she said,
“If these are questions that Mom prepared, then of course they’ll help me understand Mom better.”
I narrowed my eyes.
“…Hmm? Yui, are you really confident?”
Then, Ahyeon tilted her head slightly and spoke with a confident and somewhat proud smile.
“I wouldn’t say confident, but I do think I understand Mom well.”
At that moment, Arin looked nervously at her.
“Wait a second, Yui, you’re kinda scary.”
“Oh my, Misa. Are you nervous? Are you nervous~?”
Ahyeon said with a slight smile.
Arin cleared her throat and straightened her back.
“Oh, no! I’m going to win!”
“Then, I’ll be looking forward to it.”
Ahyeon calmly smiled.
I alternated my gaze between the two of them and smiled.
“Alright, shall we start the broadcast now?”
I turned on my laptop and finished setting up the broadcast.
Then I took a deep breath.
“Okay, everyone ready?”
“Yes!” “Yes, Mom.”
I smiled and pressed the live button.
And so, the off collaboration best friend test begins!
Click.
- Kya Off Collaboration
- This is what sex is, haha
- Kdgkdgkdgkdgkd
“Alright, everyone! Welcome to Yui and Misa’s ‘Yuki Mom Test!’ Woo~! Applause, applause.”
“…Mom. You seem really high-energy today.”
“Exactly! Unnie, you’re excited to tease us, aren’t you?!”
I waved my hand and smiled innocently.
“Eh~ Not at all~ I’m just curious how well the two of you know me~”
- Liar, haha
- Just looking at Yuki Mom’s face is hilarious
Arin gave me a sharp look after seeing my reaction.
“Wait a minute. Unnie, you didn’t purposely put in a bunch of weird questions, did you?”
“Eh~ No way~”
I pretended not to know and turned my gaze.
But in that moment, Ahyeon casually flipped through the question sheet and said,
“Oh my. There’s even a question like, ‘What was the last late-night snack Yuki Mom had?’”
Arin perked up her ears and grabbed the paper, quickly reading it.
She then screamed in shock.
“Isn’t this just too much!?”
I raised both hands and made an excuse.
“No, it’s a best friend test! If you’re really best friends, you should know all this!”
“What? It’s not like we installed CCTV at your place. How are we supposed to know that?”
“Hmm. Then, if you’re truly Yuki Mama’s best friend, you should be able to figure it out without CCTV, right?”
Ahyeon said with a quiet smile.
At those words, Arin cleared her throat and spoke.
“Ahem… Well, anyway, we need to score high to get the date ticket, so I’ll do my best!”
“That’s the spirit!”
I clapped my hands and nodded.
“Alright, let’s officially begin!”
I clicked on the screen and finally displayed the first question.
Then, with a voice full of excitement, I said,
“Alright! Yui and Misa! Answer the question!”
“Here we go! First question!”
I clicked the screen to reveal the first question.
[What was the first game Yuki ever played?]
Suddenly, the chat window started scrolling rapidly.
- If anyone gets this right, I’ll be seriously impressed. LOL
- No matter how close they are, isn’t this a bit too hard?
- The first game Mama played? Does that include the ones from when she was a kid?
I chuckled playfully and said,
“Hehehe… So, Yui and Misa! Do you remember the very first game of my gaming life?”
As soon as Arin saw the question, she let out a scoff.
“What kind of best friend test is this? We’re not childhood friends from elementary school! How are we supposed to know the first game you ever played?!”
Ahyeon rested her chin on her hand and made a thoughtful expression.
“Hmm… Considering Mama’s taste in games… Could it be a classic console game?”
I shook my head and replied,
“Hmm~ That’s not a valid answer! Now, you two! Give me your final answer!”
Arin still looked frustrated, but eventually, she folded her arms and seriously pondered.
“Ugh… But seriously, what is it? The first game you played on stream was Elden Ring, and before that, you played other games too… But your first game ever?”
“Mama, was it a PC game from elementary school?”
“Oh, that’s a good approach!”
I deliberately gave a mysterious smile.
- Ooooh, Yui is thinking smart!
- But what is it really? An RPG? Or a Flash game?
- If it turns out to be something like Bingo, I’m gonna die laughing.
Arin was still lost in thought, mumbling to herself.
“Wait… Could it have been a mobile game instead of a console game? Like something from the old flip phone days… Or maybe…”
Then, suddenly, she widened her eyes and shouted,
“Wait, could it be a Flash game from a portal site?!”
I smirked meaningfully and rested my chin on my hand.
“Ooooh~ That’s a great guess. But you haven’t said the correct answer yet.”
Arin looked deep in thought.
“Hmm… Ugh, what was it again…? I feel like you mentioned it before…”
Ahyeon also furrowed her brows, trying to recall.
“We need to think about how Mama first got into gaming as a child. Did any of your siblings play games?”
…Oh, so we’re bringing him up now.
Well, I guess it’s not completely unrelated.
“Hmm… I can’t give you that hint! But it’s a good approach.”
The chat started buzzing again.
- If she had an older brother who liked games, she might’ve played something like Nintendo.
- Or maybe an old-school online game? Like a Nexon game?
- Now I’m really curious. What was Yuki’s first game that she’s making such a big deal out of it?
Arin and Ahyeon exchanged glances.
Then, at the same time, they spoke.
“…MapleStory?”
“…Pokémon?”
I smiled slightly and shook my hand.
“Aaah~ Both are close, but still wrong~”
Arin groaned in frustration and messed up her hair.
“Ugh, just tell us the answer already!”
Feeling triumphant, I clicked the screen.
And the revealed answer was—
[FIFA]
“…”
“WHAT?! That was the first game I ever played!”
“Mama.”
“Unnie.”
Why do you both look so scary…
“…Huh?”
“That’s not very idol-like.”
Ahyeon and Arin said in unison.
I was momentarily speechless and just stared at them blankly.
“…What are you talking about?”
“Mama.”
Ahyeon let out a deep sigh.
“Honestly, when you said first game, we were expecting something cute and nostalgic… But a soccer game?”
Arin chimed in.
“Yeah, like Pokémon or Mario. But suddenly, FIFA? That’s just…”
Feeling wronged, I banged on the table.
“Hey! What’s wrong with FIFA?! FIFA is amazing! The passion of the players, the sweat, the thrilling goal celebrations! It’s the pinnacle of sports gaming!”
“That’s exactly why it’s not idol-like.”
“Mama, that’s the kind of game a pro gamer or a soccer-obsessed middle-aged man would play.”
Arin crossed her arms and shook her head.
“So… You’re saying the first game you ever played was FIFA? Were you building squads at age ten or something?”
“Were you spending money on Neymar cards back then?”
I waved my hands in exasperation.
“No! What are you talking about?! Back then, I was just playing against the CPU for fun! I didn’t even know the players’ names, I just enjoyed scoring goals!”
The entire stream was dominated by Ahyeon and Arin teasing me for not being “idol-like.”
In the end, out of the 45 questions I had prepared, we only got through two.
It took me five hours to make that quiz…
