Chapter 81: Those Who Can Never Be Forgiven (32)

A sudden eruption of a demonic corruption pit.

The forest continued to decay endlessly, and the beasts that had turned into monsters were barely being held back.

For a moment, there was finally room to breathe.

But of course, this was not a good sign.

The calm is always at its deepest before the storm arrives.

In this brief moment of respite, everything that needed to be done had to be done.

Thanks to Diana retrieving a massive amount of demonic energy,

The elves finally managed to reach the rooftop of the building where the prayer had been taking place.

But the moment they arrived, their eyes were met with utter disbelief.

The overpowering stench of blood filled the air.

Blood, whose owner was unknown, was splattered everywhere.

And at the center of this chaos,

A warrior barely standing on the crumbling floor

    Kim Su-hyun.

Even from a distance, his condition looked terrible.

    Could it be?

Was all this blood Kim Su-hyun’s?

The elves stared at him, watching as he was continually being beaten down by the rotting man consumed by corruption.

A chosen warrior, blessed by the gods, being defeated this easily?

    Despair gripped the elves.

Just as it was about to consume them entirely,

A new wave of overwhelming demonic energy filled the air.

    A girl appeared.

Her light brown hair, her black eyes, and her smooth white skin.

Her clothes, far from what a saintess should wear.

Everything about her proved that she was the saintess, Sera.

Yet, her blood-stained face and emotionless, frozen expression

Filled the elves with an unbearable fear.

She had reclaimed control over her body,

But had not yet fully subdued Rina.

Her empty gaze ignored the elves entirely.

She looked only at one thing.

At her true warrior, Kim Su-hyun,

Who was moments away from being killed by Baek Min-jun.

    Her red lips parted.

And in a soft whisper, she spoke—

    “He must not die.”

At that moment, all the light vanished from the building.

A storm of demonic energy, darker and more intense than anything before, exploded outward.

Centered around Sera, the energy crushed everything beneath its weight.

It didn’t just engulf the temple

It pressed down on every living thing in the entire forest.

    The elves trembled in terror.

The darkness devoured every last trace of light.

The pressure threatened to crush them completely if they let their guard down even for a moment.

Even the eldest of the elves, who had lived for centuries,

    Could only utter one thing.

    “The Demon King…”

The words echoed across the trembling elves.

    A wave of despair spread.

    “It’s really the Demon King…”

“The saintess… is the Demon King?”

    “Save me…! I-I don’t want to die…!”

“Wait…! Get a hold of yourselves! Look, she’s still human!”

    “Then what is that energy?!

We should never have trusted humans…!!”

“No… No… No… What the hell is happening?!”

Only the Demon King could wield this level of demonic energy.

    The thought was inescapable.

Could it be that the Demon King sealed away 300 years ago had resurrected through the body of the saintess?

    Panic spread like wildfire.

One by one, the elves lost their will to fight and began to flee.

But Sera never once looked at them.

    She walked forward.

Her attention was solely on Baek Min-jun.

For the first time in his life, Baek Min-jun felt true, overwhelming power.

Demonic energy infested his soul, consuming him whole.

His body had rotted so badly that bones were now visible,

Yet he kept stomping on Kim Su-hyun, unable to stop.

Every strike sent a deafening shockwave through the crumbling building.

    “Why are you hurting Su-hyun?”

    “Huh? Oh, it’s the used-up b*tch.”

“I guess Rina failed too, huh?”

    “f*cking whore.”

“But whatever. Right now, I feel like I can do anything.”

    Baek Min-jun was beyond reasoning.

Diana had poisoned him, cursed him.

Now, he cared about nothing but destruction.

He wanted to tear apart everything in sight.

But as he turned to rip Sera apart,

    A foreign sensation struck him.

Something heavy pressed down on him.

    He couldn’t move.

    No—he could barely breathe.

    “I asked you a question.”

    “Why are you hurting Su-hyun?”

A crushing pain flooded his entire body.

He tried to fight it, but the more he struggled, the worse it became.

    “What… the hell… is this…?!”

    His limbs trembled.

    Pain ripped through his chest.

    Even as he screamed,

Sera walked toward him without a care.

    And in that moment,

    For the first time ever…

Baek Min-jun felt true, absolute fear.

    (To be continued…)

This chapter marks the turning point—Sera, fully embracing her demonic power, finally crushes Baek Min-jun.

Baek Min-jun, who had spent his entire time believing he was the protagonist, is reduced to nothing but prey.

The elves, once bystanders, now flee in terror, realizing they were never truly in control.

Sera is no longer just a saintess—she has become something far more terrifying.
