Chapter 80.2
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 80 (Continued)
Her eyes suddenly turned cold.
“This disciplinary committee is a mess, isn’t it, everyone?”
She was one of the power holders in Academy City.
The student council president of Mayeon High School, Lee Yena.
The students accompanying her all wore student council badges. For some reason, the Mayeon High School student council members had appeared.
Following them, two more students entered. A male student wearing a Disciplinary Committee Leader armband and a female student wearing a Vice Leader armband.
These were the people I had called.
They stepped forward, past President Yena, and adjusted their glasses simultaneously, as if rehearsed. The male student presented his Disciplinary Committee ID.
“I’m Lee Jae-ho, the Disciplinary Committee Leader of Mayeon High. This is Shin Ga-yeon, the Vice Leader.”
They were the Disciplinary Committee Leader and Vice Leader of Mayeon High School.
***
The expressions of surprise on the faces of the disciplinary committee members were evident.
The reason Lee Jae-ho could intervene at this moment was due to prior discussions with Ahn Woo-jin.
If he were in opposition to Woo-jin, what actions would he take? With this assumption, it was foreseeable that the disciplinary committee might be compromised.
Woo-jin had previously warned Jae-ho of this possibility.
The position of Disciplinary Committee Leader was an obstacle. From the enemy’s perspective, removing Woo-jin from this position would make dealing with him easier.
So, Jae-ho decided to help Woo-jin, secretly investigating the appointed committee members once they were decided.
On the day of the disciplinary committee meeting, they waited near Ahsung High and came as soon as Baek-seo signaled.
‘Ahn Woo-jin…’
Jae-ho thought.
‘I hate to admit it, but you’re competent. More than me.’
Jae-ho still disliked Woo-jin. His feelings of animosity were strong.
However, regardless of his personal feelings, Woo-jin’s incredible achievements as the Disciplinary Committee Leader could not be denied.
His intelligence and execution were on a level that made Jae-ho shake his head in disbelief.
‘You must not fall.’
Jae-ho acknowledged that Ahn Woo-jin was essential to Academy City.
The fact that someone high up wanted to target Woo-jin was infuriating.
As a Disciplinary Committee Leader, Jae-ho wanted to protect Academy City. Therefore, he intended to protect Woo-jin.
“As representatives of the academy that oversaw the location of the incident and as key parties involved, we request participation in the disciplinary decision-making process. Furthermore, we request a reconsideration of the disciplinary measures.”
“The discussions are over. A decision has been made. Even if you are key parties in the incident, we cannot allow this.”
The chairman swallowed nervously due to the intervention of the Mayeon High School student council and Disciplinary Committee members, but he did not back down. After all, the chairman held the greatest authority in this disciplinary committee.
Then Jae-ho, glaring at the chairman with contempt, muttered quietly.
“You idiot. Can’t you understand even when it’s spelled out?”
“What? Idiot…!? Are you in your right mind!? Everyone heard that!”
“I said it for everyone to hear.”
“What?”
Jae-ho adjusted his glasses once more.
“Your decision is invalid. We at Mayeon High School will point out the injustice and unfairness of this disciplinary committee.”
“What are you talking about!? Unjust? Unfair!?”
The chairman, flustered, slammed the table and stood up.
“We conducted the procedure fairly…!”
“There are suspicions of bribery among the Mayeon High School committee members. We already have the evidence. This means the supposedly clean and fair disciplinary committee’s proceedings were tainted, rendering the decision invalid.”
“……!”
All the disciplinary committee members were shocked.
The two members from Mayeon High School looked especially startled.
Soon, their faces, caught in Jae-ho’s gaze, were filled with fear.
Vice Leader Shin Ga-yeon distributed copies of the evidence to the committee members. The documents detailed suspicious cash flows from a shell company, leaving no doubt of bribery.
The committee members’ expressions grew serious.
‘They must be shocked. They never expected us to dig into the bribery within this disciplinary committee.’
It was difficult to investigate external committee members, but examining those from their own academy was possible.
After explaining the situation in writing to the student council president and investigating the members, this became feasible.
The Disciplinary Committee Leader has the right to request information on committee members from the student council president if there are suspicions of unfairness.
The Mayeon High School members obviously hadn’t anticipated their Disciplinary Committee Leader taking such actions.
President Yena placed a hand on Woo-jin’s shoulder and looked at the chairman.
“We request to recuse this disciplinary committee, including the chairman, and reconvene with new members.”
“You….”
“It’s been a while, hasn’t it?”
President Yena greeted Woo-jin softly.
Although they hadn’t spoken much, they had seen each other during the first semester’s exchange meeting, hence her greeting.
Yena covered her mouth with her hand and whispered quietly.
“I received a brief from my brother. I discarded it. Let’s be allies, shall we?”
“…….”
A brilliant smile spread across Yena’s face, making it seem as though flower petals were scattering around her, like a scene from a romance manga.
Amid the stunned disciplinary committee members, a commotion erupted outside.
Soon, Ahsung High School’s student council president, Han Baek-hyun, hurried in with two student council members.
“Wait a moment! How did the Mayeon High members get here…!?”
“We came by car.”
Yena answered Baek-hyun’s question with a cheerful smile.
The presence of Mayeon High School’s student council president and Disciplinary Committee Leader had caused a stir. Han Baek-hyun had rushed over after receiving a delayed report.
When prominent figures like these visit, the security office reports to the Disciplinary Committee, which then informs the student council.
This reporting structure was established to handle minor or non-dangerous visitors without involving the student council.
In this case, Oh Baek-seo had intentionally delayed the report, allowing the Mayeon High School members to directly intervene in the disciplinary committee meeting.
“Welcome, President Han. Did you know something outrageous was happening here?”
“Huh…?”
The disciplinary committee proceedings are secret to non-participants. Baek-hyun only receives the final decision and its basis after the committee concludes.
With the revelation of bribery among the Mayeon High members and the intervention of prominent student council presidents, the chairman’s expression hardened.
Whispering, a Mayeon High School student council member briefed President Han Baek-hyun.
Baek-hyun’s brows furrowed as he listened.
“What…?”
Baek-hyun glared at the Mayeon High School members wearing the disciplinary committee gowns.
“…Is this true? Is there really bribery in a committee that should be the epitome of fairness? Was the discussion incredibly biased, excluding favorable information for our Disciplinary Committee Leader?”
“Even if some committee members accepted bribes, we conducted a reasonable and fair discussion…. Wait! What are you doing!?”
An Ahsung High School student handed Baek-hyun a document taken from the Ahsung committee member. The disgruntled Ahsung member did not resist.
“Seizing committee documents is illegal…!”
“If there is evidence of bribery among some committee members, the discussions and decisions are void. These documents are now just waste paper.”
“Even so…!”
“This is….”
As Baek-hyun read the document, his face turned red with anger.
His teeth clenched tightly, grinding audibly.
“This…!”
Baek-hyun’s face filled with rage.
The discussions had been excessively biased.
“These people!!”
Thud!
In a sudden outburst, Baek-hyun angrily loosened his tie and threw it to the floor.
‘It’s happening!’
‘President Han’s tie throw!’
Anyone from Ahsung High School knew what that meant.
It was an unequivocal expression of Han Baek-hyun’s unwavering fury.
“You maniacs! Are you out of your minds!? You’re all in this together! You think we’re easy!? How dare you do this to our student! How dare you!!”
“Calm down, President!!”
“Let me go!! Ahn Woo-jin shouldn’t be treated this unfairly!! You dirty, corrupt bastards!!”
As Baek-hyun started causing a commotion, the committee members, terrified, stood up and backed away. The student council members blocked Han Baek-hyun, sweating nervously.
‘What the hell is this…?’
Woo-jin felt bewildered by the unexpectedly chaotic situation.
“Eek!”
“Wait!”
“What are you doing!?”
“Security, stop them! Hurry!”
“It’s the President…!”
“By the authority of the chairman, I order you to stop immediately…! Huff!”
“Argh!”
Crash!
Desks flipped, documents and chairs flew, and the committee members scrambled in chaos.
The disciplinary committee room turned into a complete madhouse.
