Chapter 71 : What happened on the first day of wedding ?

Curry stared intently at Barcode, who had taken a seat beside him without hesitation.

As if questioning his gaze, she looked back at him and tilted her head.

In a barely audible voice, Curry muttered, “I think it might look better for the broadcast if I sit across from you instead of next to you…”

“Hmm… Do you think the viewers would want that?”

Barcode leaned slightly toward him as she spoke softly.

In that moment, a subtle fragrance of perfume wafted over, surprising Curry. He instinctively inhaled deeply, caught off guard by the scent.

As the fragrance filled the air, Curry fought to keep his composure, desperately trying not to let his mind wander or betray his thoughts through any obvious reactions. After all, right next to him sat a stunning woman who would be impossible for any man to ignore.

But when he reminded himself that the woman before him was none other than Na-yeon Queen, he managed to hold onto the last shred of his rationality.

    “Shall we eat then?”

Perhaps deciding to stop teasing him, Barcode leaned back in her chair. Curry let out a quiet sigh of relief and quickly shifted his gaze to the table in front of them.

Looking at the spread of food, Curry couldn’t help but silently marvel.

She wasn’t just blessed with wealth and exceptional looks—she could cook too?

Of course, he hadn’t tasted it yet, but even the aroma alone was enough to make his mouth water.

This has to taste good. There’s no way it doesn’t.

With confidence, Curry started eating. His hands moved busily as he savored the meal.

Though he wouldn’t call the flavors out-of-this-world amazing, they had a comforting, familiar taste that made it impossible to stop eating. Each bite left him wanting more, and he found himself quickly devouring the food in front of him.

“If you need more rice, let me know. I can get you some,” Barcode said casually.

    “Uh… ahem.”

Embarrassed by her voice breaking his concentration, Curry cleared his throat.

The thought crossed his mind that this was all being broadcast live. It would be too humiliating to ask for more rice in front of the viewers.

But after skipping breakfast and faced with this home-cooked meal, Curry couldn’t resist the temptation any longer.

    “…Just one more bowl, please.”

Barcode’s soft smile seemed to say she found his reluctant request endearing. Without a word, she took his empty bowl and pressed the rice firmly into it before handing it back.

    “Here you go.”

    “Thank you…”

Realizing there was no point in being embarrassed anymore, Curry decided to enjoy the meal to the fullest. He dove into his food again, eating voraciously. Barcode watched him with a satisfied smile, her amusement evident.

    “Is it good?”

“Yes… But did you really cook all this yourself?”

“If I didn’t, who else would’ve done it?”

At that moment, Curry glanced toward a figure standing nearby. It was Ji-hye, the housekeeper.

“Are you interested in our housekeeper?” Barcode teased.

“No, that’s not what I meant—”

“Relax, I’m just joking. Do you think I’d miss something like that?”

    “…Thank goodness it’s just a joke.”

Even though the delicious meal had put Curry in a good mood, Barcode’s knack for throwing him off with unexpected jokes was remarkable.

“Alright then, let’s wrap up our first on-screen ‘marriage stream’ here,” Barcode announced as she got up from her seat and looked at the camera.

On the nearby laptop screen, the chat scrolled by rapidly. Although Curry couldn’t see the exact messages, it was obvious from the vibe that the viewers were disappointed the stream was ending.

Without caring about the viewers’ reactions, Barcode ended the broadcast abruptly. Curry found himself amazed at her decisiveness. He wouldn’t have been able to end the stream so cleanly in such a situation, but she did it without hesitation.

It was almost admirable in its own way.

“Are you planning to stream solo later?” Barcode asked.

“Yes. I can’t skip solo queue, after all.”

“So, solo queue is more important than a ‘marriage stream’?”

    “Your jokes aren’t working anymore.”

    “I’m not joking.”
Curry, unable to think of anything else to say, hurriedly moved his steps.

Passing Barcode, he quickly returned to his room, letting out a long-held sigh the moment he closed the door behind him.

    Thump, thump.
Why was his heart pounding like this?

What was so special about having a meal with Barcode?

Above all, while she was Barcode on the outside, on the inside, she was Na-yeon Queen.

As soon as Curry reminded himself of this, the heat that had been racing through his heart quickly subsided.

Regaining his usual calm to the point where he could no longer feel the thumping of his heart, Curry began preparing for his stream.

Earlier, he’d been too busy unpacking to notice properly, but now he observed that there were separate computers for streaming and gaming.

After turning on the computers, Curry checked their specs, and his eyes widened in shock.

“She said she didn’t have much time to set up…”

While they weren’t the absolute highest specs available, the computers were impressive enough to make anyone say, “Wow, these are top-tier machines.”

Finding the time to prepare such high-spec computers and claiming she didn’t have much time to set up seemed contradictory.

Not to mention, the combined cost of these two computers would be no joke.

After confirming that both systems were functioning perfectly, Curry installed the necessary streaming software.

As if to prove they were brand-new, the computers were barebones, with only the basic programs installed.

Of course, it was possible they had been reset at some point, but knowing Barcode’s personality, that didn’t seem likely.

    “Haa…”

With everything ready, Curry took a deep breath and finally started his stream.

Having wrapped up the cooking stream with Curry without any issues, I went upstairs to the second floor.

During our “marriage stream” arrangement, we’d agreed to do our personal streams individually while living together but also to collaborate at least once every two days.

Since I had no plans to start another stream today, I found myself sitting in front of my computer, waiting for Curry’s stream to go live.

After about 10 minutes, the notification popped up that Curry’s stream had started.

I immediately entered his stream using Na-yeon Queen’s account and logged into the chat.

As always, the familiar opening song played, and when it ended, the screen transitioned to the live feed.

“Ah, ah, can you all hear me clearly?” Curry’s voice came through the stream.

    [Ka-ha!]

[Is Barcode next to you? Is Barcode next to you? Is Barcode next to you?]

    [Ka-ha!]

    [Ka-ha!]

As Curry’s familiar voice echoed through the stream, the chatroom buzzed with comments about me.

[Bring Barcode over, bring Barcode over, bring Barcode over!]

[So, you two are really getting married, right?]

[How is living together any different from a marriage show? Haha.]

[Info: On public broadcasts, cohabitation is usually a basic feature of these shows.]

It wasn’t surprising to see chat blowing up about me, considering Curry was living at my place.

However, it was still his stream, and seeing it hijacked by discussions about me made me feel a bit guilty.

Of course, that didn’t mean I wasn’t enjoying watching Curry struggle to handle the chaos.

“The Barcode you all want isn’t here,” Curry announced firmly. “Right now, it’s Curry’s fun ‘solo rank stream’ time.”

[I’m going crazy, I’m losing my mind!]

    [Where’s Barcode-noona? I’m cold… Barcode-noona, come back! I’m cold…]

[Hey, Curry, act like a gentleman!]

[Why is Curry on Barcode’s channel?]

[LOL, Curry already belongs to Barcode completely.]

[Overinvested viewers should all just disappear already.]

[I love marriage content, but over-obsessed fans ruin the vibe. Seriously.]

Just as the chatroom threatened to spiral into chaos, any inflammatory comments were swiftly deleted.

The speed of the cleanup confirmed that Curry’s moderators were on top of things.

“Guys, it’s fine to get invested, but don’t let it show in the chat. And don’t post comments that stir up drama. Even if you cry and beg later, I’m not pulling you out of Impel Town,” Curry said calmly.

It was impressive how smoothly Curry and his moderators worked together, as if they’d rehearsed this.

The chat’s tone shifted, and the buzz about Barcode and marriage gradually faded.

Once the atmosphere had settled, Curry logged into Loerie.

“Like I said earlier, today’s stream is just solo queue. Ah, I should write that down to make it clear.”

A message appeared in white text at the top-left corner of the screen:

“Solo queue only. Please refrain from mentioning marriage content.”

With everything neatly resolved, Curry covered his screen and started queueing for a match.

I had already logged into my prepared account to snipe him, and as soon as Curry’s status changed to “Searching for Match,” I began queueing.

Just in case one account wasn’t enough, I’d also logged in with Na-yeon Princess and Na-yeon Fairy.

The black screen on Curry’s stream lifted, revealing the pick-ban phase.

As the draft progressed, I realized that Na-yeon Princess and Na-yeon Fairy hadn’t matched with him, so I dodged with those accounts and focused on Na-yeon Queen, my main.

When the picks and bans perfectly matched Curry’s stream, I knew my snipe had succeeded.

Excited, I locked in Yone after a long time.

    [Yone? Yone? Yone? Yone?]

    [No way, lol.]

[Would the cohabitation partner really snipe his game? LOL.]

    [What a crazy… crazy… crazy move…]

[Stop overreacting. There are tons of Yone players out there.]

[Hey, Kim, stop killing the mood and go build some bricks.]

“This couldn’t be… them, right? I mean, the Chairman has her mischievous side, but still… no way.”

Curry tried to deny the viewers’ suspicions, but his darting eyes betrayed him.

As the game began and the loading screen revealed my nickname on his stream, the chat exploded again.

    [Ah.]

    [Read the room, you clown.]

    [Na-yeon Queen, you annoying brat.]

    [Oh, so it’s not Barcode?]

[Well, yeah, there’s no way the Chairman would stoop to something like this.]

[Would she really snipe his game during a marriage show? Come on.]

The appearance of Na-yeon Queen visibly cooled the chat’s excitement.

Normally, this was the moment when Curry would make a comment about Na-yeon Queen, but instead, he just stared blankly at the screen, focusing on the nickname beneath Yone.

As the game began, I turned off Curry’s stream and concentrated on the match.

Since the preseason had ended and the new season had just begun, most of the competitive players had already climbed the ranks.

Now, the only ones left in this bracket were locals, and they were no match for my Yone.

    [SLAUGHTER IN PROGRESS.]

I dominated the game, racking up solo kills and breaking the game wide open.

Even when my teammates tried to feed kills to the enemy, refusing to cooperate, I dragged them onto the victory train.

With overwhelming skill, I dismantled the opposing team’s balance and relentlessly targeted Curry.

Though I’d turned off his stream, I could imagine his reactions and felt a certain thrill.

But this wasn’t just about teasing Curry.

What I really wanted to see was how Curry would react when I brought him a plate of dessert right after crushing him in-game.

Even though I knew this was wrong, I couldn’t resist.

    [Victory!]

After quickly securing the win, I pulled out my earbuds and stood up.

Heading downstairs, I grabbed an apple from the fridge.

Using a paring knife, I peeled and sliced it into bite-sized pieces, arranging them neatly on a plate.

Carrying the plate of apple slices, I walked into Curry’s streaming room.

Curry, his expression slightly stiff, was focused on his stream, but I placed the plate on his desk with a smile.

    “Curry, have some fruit.”

At the sound of my voice, Curry slowly turned his head toward me.

Seeing the mix of emotions flicker across his face—confusion, frustration, and something unnameable—made guilt and a strange sense of excitement well up inside me all at once.
