“It seems YK will take this dragon without much trouble.”

“Yone finished his first core item in the top lane, so it seems they’re mindful of the difference in power.”

“The good news for ARK is that Aatrox has been holding his own since his early death.”

“There’s a slight CS difference, but once teamfights start, Aatrox has a high chance of popping off. Conversely, Yone’s inherent weaknesses might be exposed.”

[Aatrox is doing okay, though?]

“Ah, my ultimate is down, but I baited out Yone’s ultimate too.”

“I think we should give up on split pushing and focus on the dragon fight.”

At the 28-minute mark, the dragon score was 1-2 in the opponent’s favor. Yone had completed three items, giving them complete control of the side lanes. If we gave up three dragons, we could fall completely behind, so we decided to fight.

“Let’s contest this dragon. I’ve finished my third item, so we can win if we engage.”
“Aatrox, join us too.”
“My ultimate is down.”
“We should still group.”
“Alright.”

Since everyone agreed with my call, we quickly cleared the bottom wave and recalled. I bought Zhonya’s Hourglass, my third item, and teleported to the dragon pit.

“Be careful of Lucian’s ultimate.”

“I got hit by it earlier, and it hurt.”

“We don’t have a frontline, so we need to be careful with our positioning and engage properly.”

“Watch out for Orianna’s ball. Even her poke can chunk our health.”

A standoff began in front of the dragon pit. Since most of the damage dealers had completed their core items, every ability could be fatal. A tense exchange of abilities ensued.

“Focus Lucian!”

Lee Sin dashed towards Lucian, who had used his ultimate and dashed forward. Nami immediately used her ultimate to save Lucian, but Lee Sin flashed behind them and kicked Lucian towards us.

“Got Lucian!”

“I’m dead.”

We secured the kill on Lucian, but Lee Sin, who had dived into the enemy team, also died. This created a 4v4 situation. The enemy team, now without their ADC, started attacking the dragon in a hurry.

‘Are they planning to take it and run?’

With Yone, their burst damage was definitely high.

‘We can’t win a smite fight anyway.’

So, I made a decision.

“I’ll knock them up, so engage!”

The enemy team, except for Yone, had used all their ultimates. This meant they had no way to lock me down. And even for champions with mobility, their positioning inside the dragon pit was too aggressive.

“Aatrox, just focus on Yone!”

I dashed into the pit and used my ultimate. I managed to knock up everyone except for Yone, who used his E to dash to the side. They had no way to win the fight from the moment they started attacking the dragon. Aphelios, who had scaled smoothly, cleaned up the fight with Lulu’s buffs, securing an ace.

“Can we end the game now?”
“Lucian will respawn soon.”
“If we can’t push through, we’ll lose momentum.”
“Should we just go for Baron?”

The team’s opinions were divided as we headed towards the mid lane, where their tier 3 turret was still standing. The top laner and jungler wanted to end the game now, while the bot lane duo wanted to wait for Baron after Lucian respawned.

“This game is over.”

But as far as I was concerned, the game was already won. Even though their Lucian had an Infinity Edge, he had built for poke damage with Rapid Firecannon instead of prioritizing cooldown reduction and attack speed. He wouldn’t be able to take down all four of us and the cannon minion, no matter how well he played.

“But if we can’t push through, they’ll get Baron.”

“If we can’t end it now, we’ll lose the Baron dance. Lucian and Orianna will have their flashes up.”

And there was another reason we needed to end the game now. Their damage dealers, Orianna and Lucian, would soon have their flashes back up.

“Let’s end it then.”

“I’ll focus on Lucian.”

The team agreed with my assessment, and we pushed towards the enemy Nexus. Lucian respawned and tried to defend while we were destroying the Nexus turrets, but he couldn’t stop four champions focusing on the turrets at the 30-minute mark.

“Let’s do well in Game 2 too.”

“Seo-ha is the main shotcaller, so just listen to her.”

“Let’s win the next game too.”

“Everyone played well.”
