Chapter 62 : The Art Competition Starts!

    The interviews each proceeded smoothly.

    “Ah, Larné-nim. Hello.”

    “Hello, Eungtae-nim.”

    “How’s team practice going?”

“Of course it’s going well. I’m confident we’ll show you things beyond your imagination.”

“Wow~ I’m really looking forward to it!”

    Interviews conducted individually.

However, the questions were all the same.

    How is team practice going?

Are you willing to share a little bit of your strategy?

Is there a particular opponent you’re watching closely?

    But then, something felt…

The answers from Nanmi-nim’s team were oddly similar — almost identical.

“It’s honestly amazing. Even in intense moments, Nanmi-nim gives orders in this calm and steady voice. It actually makes me feel reassured,

    you know?”

“Nanmi-nim’s calls are… how do I put this… ‘accurate’ — that word fits perfectly. It’s like they grasp the whole battlefield in a split second and

    give orders accordingly.”

“To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone give such good calls. You can’t really explain it in words. You’d have to see it for yourself.”

    That made Eungtae think.

‘What kind of calls are they giving to cause this kind of reaction?’

How good must they be for all the teammates to be so full of praise?

Even Lino, the youngest and most adored member of Nanmi’s team, had this to say:

    “Eungtae-nim.”

    “Yes, Lino-nim?”

    “I honestly think Nanmi-nim is a psychic.”

    “Psychic? Pfft — a psychic?”

    “Please don’t laugh, Eungtae-nim. I’m being serious.”

    “Why do you think that?”

“Nanmi-nim’s calls are, how should I say this… it’s like they predict the future. The orders are so on point, it’s like they knew what would

happen in advance. That’s why we can follow them so confidently.”

“I mean, seriously… what kind of orders are they giving?”

“This is something… I think someone with real insight would need to see and explain. I’m just a teammate — I don’t really understand how

    Nanmi-nim sees the battlefield.”

No, really — how are they making these calls?

So Eungtae decided to ask Nanmi directly.

    “Your teammates said all that?”

“Yes, Nanmi-nim. They all praised your calling. Could you tell me how you approach giving orders?”

“Hmm… I just give orders that fit the situation, that’s all?”

It seems even Nanmi doesn’t fully realize what they’re doing.

After the interview, Eungtae asked Nanmi for a favor.

“If it’s not too much to ask, could I watch one of your practice sessions? Oh, don’t worry — I’ll turn off the stream.”

    “Sure. That’s fine.”

So he entered the channel to observe Nanmi’s calling style, and without even realizing it, he found himself going wow…

Even someone unfamiliar with game tactics could tell — these calls were not ordinary.

‘So this is what “appropriate” really means?’

Orders that perfectly match each situation.

    Even a non-expert could tell.

    “Wow…”

The screen moved quickly under Nanmi’s control.

And the calls — perfectly timed, executed flawlessly.

Even the positioning was, in a good way, absolutely filthy.

But the most impressive part was Nanmi’s multitasking.

    “Nanmi-nim.”

    “Yes?”

“What’s your IQ, if I may ask?”

    “110.”

    “That’s… average.”

    “Yeah.”

But then how are they able to give such sharp calls?

Quickly scanning the screen, tracking ally and enemy positions, giving calm and detailed instructions to each player.

All the while staying active — moving, shooting, keeping pressure, healing.

And Nanmi’s voice carried an unmistakable calm throughout it all.

Of course, there was a reason.

    Time flowed differently for Nanmi.

    Whoosh! Whoosh whoosh!

To others, it looked like their aim flicked rapidly across the screen — but it was actually scanning the field.

For Nanmi, time slowed down, giving them more room to think.

Using that time, they made optimal decisions and gave orders.

    Nanmi pressed the Tab key.

    Three ultimates ready.

    Paladin, Outlaw, and Female Warrior.

    Nanmi issued an order.

“Outlaw, save your flash until the end. Paladin, look for a good roar angle. Let’s hold off on Female Warrior’s ult.”

    Then the clash began.

Outlaw positioned exactly where Nanmi had said, and Paladin got into position for a roar.

    “Now.”

With that cue, Outlaw flashed in.

    Full team stun!

Without needing another call, Paladin used roar — stunning three opponents.

Then came Female Warrior’s heal block!

    Perfect team synergy.

    And Nanmi’s next call followed:

“Their Ninja and Female Warrior weren’t stunned. They might ult — Outlaw, get ready.”

    “Roger!”

    Just as Nanmi predicted.

The opposing Female Warrior used her ult on the Ninja, empowering them.

The buffed Ninja activated their ult and rushed toward the healer with a slashing strike — but the team was already prepared thanks to

    Nanmi’s warning.

Nanmi used a speed boost skill to quicken the team’s response, and Outlaw Lino activated their ultimate.

    Outlaw’s ult: Sunset.

It targets all enemies in sight, dealing more damage the longer it charges.

But the Ninja, now buffed, had high durability — so it wouldn’t be easy to finish them in one shot.

Knowing this, the Ninja dashed toward Outlaw with a strike skill.

    Bang!

But Nanmi repelled the Ninja using a time-wave.

The Ninja tried using a repel of their own — but it was just stalling.

    Bang!

As the repel effect wore off, Outlaw’s shot landed, sealing the Ninja’s fate.

    [Lino] > [NinjaMain]

After the team fight, Eungtae thought to himself:

‘Are they prepping for some kind of pro league?’

The team’s level of polish was unbelievable.

    Eungtae asked,

“So… wow. I don’t even know what to say. I’m speechless.”

    “Uh… thank you?”

“You’re not, like, overworking your teammates or anything, right?”

“Oh no, not at all. They just follow my calls really well.”

“Honestly, your teammates are amazing too, so I had high hopes. But wow, your team is really something. I can’t wait for the first match

tomorrow. You didn’t show any real strategies today on purpose, right?”

“Yeah. Not a single strategy revealed in that match.”

“Wow. If this is what you’re like without showing strategies, that’s even scarier. Anyway, thank you, Nanmi-nim. See you at the tournament

    tomorrow.”

    “See you then.”

After leaving the voice channel, Eungtae thought to himself:

    Tsk… I’m worried Danding-nim won’t even get a chance to fight back.

According to Eungtae-nim, the tournament will be held over two days.

In other words, the winners today will play in the finals tomorrow.

Since there are only four teams, only first place will receive a prize.

So, only one team can truly experience the joy of victory.

    Anyway, the tournament began.

And I must say — I felt lucky.

The first match was Soseong vs. Muruze.

    Perfect timing.

I’d have to face one of them eventually, so this was a great opportunity to analyze their strategies.

What was surprising was Soseong-nim’s playstyle.

    ‘Wow… classic Soseong.’

Soseong brought out multiple aggressive tactics — a stark contrast from their usual style.

What impressed me most was that despite the aggression, it wasn’t reckless.

They struck hard, but knew exactly when to retreat.

In other words, they were excellent at hit-and-run tactics.

Sometimes they even baited the enemy by pretending to attack, then fell back to waste the enemy’s ultimates.

‘Better watch out for that one.’

    Truly a pro gamer.

Their experience showed in their strategic depth.

So, the team that made it to the finals was Soseong’s team: [The Planets].

Then came the second match: Nanmi vs. Danding.

Before the match began, each team’s coach had an interview with Eungtae.

    Danding went first.

“Danding-nim. How are you feeling right now?”

“I’m thrilled. I didn’t expect my chance for revenge to come this soon.”

“Love the confidence. So, are you aiming to win it all?”

“Of course. Winning is our top priority — revenge comes second. My teammates have worked hard for this moment, and we’re all focused on

    winning.”

“I see. Would you like to say anything to your opponent, Nanmi-nim?”

And with that, Danding delivered a bold challenge:

“Nanmi, maybe you’re the best in 1v1s, but this time will be different. I’ll have you on your knees, begging for mercy.”

“Wow! Trash talk! That was strong, Danding-nim. You really sound like a coach in charge. Anything else you’d like to add?”

“I have nothing more to say.”

“Alright! Let’s move on to Nanmi-nim. Nanmi-nim, did you hear what Danding-nim just said? Do you have a response?”

Nanmi paused, thinking for a moment.

After all, it was a proper challenge — best to respond.

    Nanmi replied:

    “Uh… Message received, challenger.”
