Chapter 61: Treatment With Mother
by fnovelpia
“Mm…”
The bright light seeping through the crack in the door woke me up. As I opened my eyes in a half-asleep daze, the first thing that came into view was not my room but my mother’s luxurious bed.
‘Oh, right. I asked to sleep with Mother.’
In the middle of the night, I felt lonely and went to her bedroom.
Overcome with excitement at being in my mother’s warm embrace for the first time in a long while, I had playfully snuggled up to her.
I think Mother told me to stop at some point, but I don’t clearly remember the expression I made back then. I might have said something, too…
I don’t know. I can’t remember well.
But I didn’t feel the need to recall it.
As long as I remained in Tina’s body, Mother would continue to love me, and I had no intention of letting go of that blind love.
Next to me, my mother was sound asleep.
It was rare to see her still sleeping since she was always up early. Upon closer inspection, there seemed to be shadows under her eyes—had she not slept well?
I stared blankly at her face for a while.
She was truly beautiful.
There was no need to wonder from whom Tina inherited her stunning appearance. Artasha was breathtakingly gorgeous.
It felt like a mature version of Tina’s lively face had been layered on top. Her physical development was quite remarkable as well.
To be honest, she wasn’t my ideal type, but she was such an attractive woman that I couldn’t help but be mesmerized.
Watching my sleeping mother like this was fine, but the clock was nearing 8 o’clock. Slowly, the desire to have breakfast with her took over, so I carefully climbed on top of her.
I sat my hips on her belly, spread my legs, and then threw myself over her, hugging her tightly with all my strength.
“Mother, it’s time to wake up.”
“Mm…?”
Receiving her daughter’s hug as a morning call, my mother slowly opened her long eyelids, looking at me with wide, beautiful blue eyes.
“T-Tina?”
“Good morning, Mother. Let’s have breakfast together.”
With a bright smile, I buried my face into her shoulder. After hesitating for a moment, my mother gently stroked my back.
“…Good morning, Tina. Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, thanks to you, Mother.”
“…I see.”
For some reason, her response felt quite off. Feeling puzzled, I lifted my head to look down at her, noticing that her expression seemed more subdued than usual.
“Mother…? Are you feeling unwell?”
I asked with concern, but my mother just gazed at me silently for a while.
As uneasiness began to creep in due to her unusual demeanor, she closed her eyes with a pained expression and turned her head away from me.
“…It seems so. I’m not feeling well.”
“W-What?!”
My heart sank.
The unexpected answer made my hands start to tremble slightly. I had asked just in case, but I never thought it could actually be true.
Mother is sick…?
She, who had always been so healthy, suddenly ill?
‘No, this can’t be… Mother can’t be sick…’
I felt anxious.
In the game, Tina appeared as an NPC, but Tina’s mother, Artasha, never showed up at all.
The only description of the Baron of Blanc family was that it was simply tiresome; there was no mention of whether Tina’s mother was alive or dead.
At the mere thought that something might have happened to her mother, the thick mask on her face cracked and then shattered in an instant.
A sense of discomfort washed over me, not even knowing what kind of expression I was making. But unlike before, I had no energy left to care about that discomfort.
All my attention was consumed by worry for my mother.
“So, Tina.”
“H-hurry up and go to the hospital for a checkup, okay…? You can’t be sick… You really can’t be sick… I’ll take you to the hospital, so… please go now… okay?”
I can’t be without my mother.
I really can’t.
With desperate sincerity, I pleaded. Fearing that my mother might refuse by saying she was fine, I repeatedly asked her to go to the hospital.
For some reason, my mother stared at me blankly for a long time. Seeing the flush of red rising in her usually pale cheeks, she really did seem to be in pain.
Suppressing my wildly beating heart, I held my mother’s hand even tighter.
After staring at me with her red face for quite some time, my mother finally shook her head firmly, placed her hand on her forehead, and closed her eyes.
“Y-you’re right. I should go to the hospital.”
Her words about going to the hospital brought me a small sense of relief. My mother pulled me into her embrace and slowly stroked my head as she spoke.
“Since we’re going anyway, let’s get checked together.”
“Huh?”
I looked up in surprise. My mother, now much more serious, began to straighten my hair.
“It’s been a while since you last went to the hospital, hasn’t it? Let’s go together while we’re at it.”
“But I’m perfectly fine…? There’s nothing wrong with me.”
“I know that. But I just thought it might feel very lonely and quiet going to the hospital by myself…”
Her words made my eyes widen. She didn’t mean I should get checked; she wanted me to go with her.
I immediately understood.
Isn’t the hospital one of the loneliest places to be alone in the world? To feel that isolation while also being physically ill—if it were me, I wouldn’t want to go to the hospital either.
***
I quickly grasped my mother’s hand and reassured her with a bright smile.
“Let’s go together, Mother!”
Well, a little checkup wouldn’t hurt me. There was no reason to avoid it.
Everything would come out normal anyway.
The hospital we arrived at together was quite impressive.
I thought there could be no building larger than the grand mansion of the Duke of Merdellia, but this hospital was just as vast, with numerous luxurious facilities arranged throughout.
This place was called the Librium General Hospital.
It was one of the most renowned hospitals in the empire, and I heard that regular people needed to make an appointment at least a year in advance to be seen here.
How on earth had my mother managed to secure an appointment? It seemed my mother was far more capable than I had initially thought.
‘As expected, Mother, you’re amazing.’
Who wouldn’t love someone capable? And the fact that person was my mother made me even prouder.
While I smiled in satisfaction, my mother grasped my hand.
“Tina, say hello. This is the person who will guide you.”
The woman my mother introduced was a nurse with red hair. Though not as beautiful as my mother, she had a relatively pretty face.
However, what caught my attention was not her appearance.
‘…Are nurse uniforms usually that tight-fitting?’
Could it be that this nurse knows how attractive her body is?
Her tightly clinging nurse uniform shamelessly showed off her suggestive curves.
“Hello. I’m Reina Hildensborg, and I’ll be assisting with the lady’s medical examination.”
Reina Hildensborg.
It was a name I had never heard before, not even mentioned in the game or through any other stories.
Well, then.
No need to pay attention to a nobody.
Despite my sudden loss of interest, I gave her a bright smile and nodded politely.
“Listen carefully to the nurse and get your checkup done.”
“What about you, mother?”
“I’ll be examined by a specialist doctor.”
Worried that the doctor might be some hairy, overweight man, I asked my mother.
After all, there is no one as beautiful as my mother, and no woman with a body as sensual as hers. I was wary that the doctor might harbor impure thoughts.
I can’t just stand by and watch some man touch my mother’s body.
Fortunately, the one in charge of my mother’s examination was a woman.
Not only that, but she was rumored to be a diligent and respected physician in the Empire, so there should be no cause for concern.
Leaving a deep kiss on my mother’s left cheek, we parted ways briefly to receive our respective checkups.
Though I hadn’t been told exactly what my examination was for, I wasn’t particularly worried.
Other than my frail body, there was nothing else wrong with me, and truthfully, it was a checkup I didn’t even need.
With a bashful smile, I tugged at the nurse’s collar. The nurse looked down at me with her curious red eyes, wide open.
‘Hmm… What was her name again?’
I had already forgotten.
Well, it doesn’t matter.
“You don’t have to do a thorough job, Nurse. I just came along because my mother said she’d feel lonely. I’m perfectly fine.”
The nurse blinked her eyes wide in surprise, then shook her head with an amused yet troubled smile.
“Fufu… There isn’t a nurse here who would do a half-hearted checkup, no matter what you say.”
Ugh, so inflexible.
Looks like making easy money isn’t in your future, Nurse.
