    Chapter 61.1

Chapter 61 – Rule 23. The Leader Must Always Be Prepared for an Enemy Attack (1)

    I look back.

After the final exams of the first semester, I used my Platinum Mileage to strengthen the Iron Dragon Staff once more.

I was told its hardness and magic power sensitivity had increased. When I actually used it, I could feel the effects.

    Crackle!

    ‘Oh.’

The magic power sensitivity was so high that I could even wield lightning magic itself.

I could trigger an electrical explosion with the Lightning Rod and even absorb and wield that explosion. Of course, my Tier 6 rank and the high purity of my magic power played a significant role.

Anyway, it was something I discovered during an experiment in the desolate outskirts last time. It was worth the long trip.

    Moreover, it was natural.

Since the start of summer vacation, I’ve been focusing more on training my unique ability under Geumyang. I had enough time to do so.

During the vacation, my duties as the Disciplinary Committee Leader were limited to approving necessary matters or handling major incidents.

Currently, the Disciplinary Committee was operating in shifts, with squads taking turns every day.

Unless an emergency occurred, there was no sign of trouble yet.

Even if my unique ability wasn’t publicly known, information about my powerful unique ability must have spread. It was strange that neither the perverted challengers nor the villains of Academy City were coming after me. For now, I could only remain vigilant.

Having sent the Disciplinary Committee members to a training camp, the major summer vacation events were essentially over.

I needed to prepare for the next semester.

    “Huff, huff….”

    Training room.

I was lying on the floor, panting. Repeated use of my unique ability had left me exhausted.

“I’m getting a good grasp of my ability.”

Geumyang, the woman with golden eyes, said.

“Can you hone this ability to a usable level before the end of the vacation? It’s still likely to deplete your magic power quickly, isn’t it?”

    That would be problematic.

I had to be able to handle the ability with ease before the vacation ended.

The mysterious death of Lee Se-Ah after her control of the Black Market.

    The Head Principal’s suicide.

The commotion caused by the Six Sinners.

Most of these incidents occurred during the second semester.

Even Oh Baek-seo’s disappearance might happen around that time.

    Thud.

Geumyang adjusted her school uniform skirt, sitting on my abdomen. She wasn’t particularly heavy.

    “…What are you doing?”

“I’ve felt this for a while now.”

Geumyang’s mystical golden eyes looked down at me.

    “You seem too rushed.”

“Isn’t it good to work hard on something?”

“You don’t seem to be driven by enthusiasm or passion. Your obsession seems distant from passion. Is there something I don’t know?”

Geumyang stared at me, stroking her chin, with a suspicious look.

“That’s just how I am. There’s nothing wrong with it, right?”

Even Geumyang couldn’t see through my game knowledge.

Who made a game based on this world and for what purpose?

Why was I reincarnated in this world?

Even Geumyang couldn’t understand, so there was no way I could.

“Is it because of Kim Dalbi?”

“Catching her is part of the reason.”

Geumyang still looked at me suspiciously but didn’t press further.

    Time to change the subject.

“Is there a faster way to get stronger?”

“As I’ve said many times, there’s nothing better than actual combat. Especially when your life is on the line.”

    “Life?”

Geumyang looked back at me and pointed to her head.

“In such situations, your brain works at an extremely fast pace. All your nerves are on edge, and your learning ability dramatically improves. All for survival.”

They say people see their life flash before their eyes just before they die.

It’s because the brain works rapidly, searching for ways to survive.

Geumyang’s words were along similar lines.

“But to maximize that effect, you need a considerable amount of practice beforehand.”

    “……”

“If you want to grow quickly, you have to push yourself to the limit. There’s no royal road or shortcut. The most grueling path leads to the greatest growth.”

    “Yeah….”

Listening to her, I suddenly thought of the topic of ‘talent.’

Though I don’t like to argue about talent.

I remembered the monstrous talent of Goliath, who instinctively mastered the art of magic power from an early age.

    “Geumyang.”

    “What?”

“You said my magic power was purer than that long-haired giant we saw last time, right?”

    “That’s true.”

“Does that mean I have more talent than him?”

    Geumyang shook her head firmly.

“Unfortunately, his talent is overwhelmingly superior. Only I can see him as insignificant. Among all living humans, no one is as outstanding as him.”

Even though I expected that answer, it left me feeling stifled.

Undoubtedly, my ultimate objective was Goliath.

I didn’t know why such a person would bring about a dystopia, but knowing what he would do, I had no choice but to fight him.

    “However.”

    Crackle.

Geumyang extended her index finger upwards, creating a small crack above it.

“In terms of my power, your talent is far superior. Only you can handle spatial abilities. That’s why it takes longer to master your unique ability.”

That’s why I could remember Goliath’s magic training method and repeatedly practice it.

Though I couldn’t instinctively master the art like a monster, my relentless repetition of his method yielded results.

“That’s a relief. That’s the most comforting thing you’ve said.”

My strength was returning a bit.

    I stood up.

“Are you going to face him?”

“I have to. I’m the Disciplinary Committee Leader, and he’s a criminal.”

“What a bold one you are.”

“I’ve regained some strength. Let’s start again.”

    Geumyang crossed her arms.

    “Sure.”

    Her confident expression was evident.

“Hit me with ‘Spatial Thunderstrike’ again.”

    “What a grand statement….”

Geumyang created a crack to withstand my attack.

Despite her dramatic flair, she was just going to deflect my attack with the crack.

    Unique Ability: Space Domination.

Magic Technique Type 2: Spatial Thunderstrike.

A technique that broke through Necromancer Han Seo-jin’s unique ability Type 5.

A combination of lightning magic and spatial ability, honed like a sharp blade due to not reaching Tier 5.

Placing that technique in Magic Technique Type 2 was solely my decision. After all, it’s my unique ability.

I created a crack at the position of my hand and where I intended to unleash the thunderstrike.

Setting the coordinates was still challenging.

But my determination didn’t waver. Once I mastered this technique, it would undoubtedly become the ultimate offensive skill.

    Boom!

Even though nine out of ten times the Spatial Thunderstrike hit an unintended location.

    “I’m over here, you know?”

    “I know…. It’s still difficult without a large-scale attack….”
