Chapter 60 : Peace Strategy (1)
by AfuhfuihgsThe given period is three days.
I have to make it so the team can work perfectly together within those three days.
And I feel like three days is a fairly sufficient amount of time.
I said,
“Our first opponent is Danding-nim.”
There’s a high chance their team will go with a rush comp.
That’s just a guess, of course.
There was a rule that we couldn’t watch the opponent’s stream during the tournament.
But I was prepared.
Coincidentally, someone I had been keeping an eye on ended up on their team.
I knew what that person was good at using.
I said,
“There’s a high chance they’ll go with a transform robot. Danding-nim’s teammate Longlong-nim often plays the transform robot.”
The transform robot’s attack is powerful.
Though it has a critical weakness—it’s big and easy to hit.
But that’s not the important part.
“I want all of you to be snipers.”
Everyone was confused.
All snipers? Not just one?
What on earth is that supposed to mean?
I said,
“Our team isn’t going to engage in head-on fights if we can help it. We’ll play every moment with the mindset of targeting one specific enemy.
Here’s the plan.”
Tank line and damage line.
One of the four will always flank with Nanmi.
I’ll let you know the right timing and situation for the flank, so the other four should act as bait or engage in a power fight temporarily.
Of course, talking is easy. Showing it is what matters.
“From now on, I’ll give the orders. Let’s try a quick match.”
And so the quick match began.
The comp: Paladin, Monkeyman, Net Master, Soldier, Time Mage, Female Soldier.
Nanmi said,
“Let’s assume the target is the Time Mage. They’re usually the coaches. Of course, if the enemy team doesn’t have a Time Mage—wait, they
do?”
Huh? Did they hear me somehow?
They changed their pick right after I said it—guess I was right.
“Hm… Raise your hand if you’re Ritmi.”
[All Chat]
-
Hand!
-
Hand!
“Yep… All six are Ritmi.”
“Ahaha!”
“Wait, we’re all snipers?”
“Hey! You guys! Don’t interrupt our practice!”
“Snipers, please go easy on us.”
“Since they changed to Time Mage, maybe they’re trying to help us out. Let’s just ask them directly.”
So we asked nicely.
If the tank line could go with a rush comp and one damage dealer could pick the transform robot.
The enemy team kindly changed their comp for us.
Wow… I never thought our stream snipers would be this nice.
[Someone donated 1,000 won!]
[As expected of Sniper King God Nanmi. Who would’ve thought the misfit snipers would listen so obediently?]
-
Sniper King… Nanmi suddenly feels less intimidating…
-
LOL but seriously, why are they so obedient?
-
Were they always this kind of people?
“Maybe they genuinely want to see our team win. Actually, should we just make a private room with them? What do you all think?”
“We’re down.”
“If they’re offering help, we can’t refuse.”
[All Chat]
-
Let’s go
-
Time to break their spirit
-
LOL
-
We’ll make you stronger
“The enemy team’s really enthusiastic. Great. I sent friend requests, please join right away.”
So we left the quick match and opened a custom room.
We invited the snipers and our team members and started the game again.
Nanmi said,
“The important thing is not getting caught. I’ve done this a lot, so I know. So we shouldn’t pick control maps.”
Control maps don’t have attackers or defenders.
Both teams’ spawn doors open at the same time, and it becomes a direct confrontation.
In other words, there’s no moment to flank, and there’s a high chance we get caught trying.
I said,
“I’ll show you a route I often use. It’s a route that can’t be blocked even if they know it.”
Second strategy.
Don’t use typical routes.
Honestly, I don’t even need to explain this.
“Just follow me. First, Yuze-nim.”
“Huh?”
“Follow me.”
Yuze-nim, who picked Paladin, began to follow me.
Crouching, carefully.
We were on defense, so we had the advantage of setting up first.
Oh, right.
“Snipers, please don’t come out just yet. You’re listening, right? Please.”
[All Chat]
-
?
-
??
-
You’re asking the enemy to wait so you can set up? Nanmi, you rascal! This is practice, not playtime!
“Hehe, it’s practice! Just help us a bit. Chicken after?”
[All Chat]
-
Any menu works?
“Any menu, just one.”
[All Chat]
-
Just give the order.
-
We obey, Nanmi-nim.
-
Deal!
Our stream snipers really are kind.
I helped each teammate take position one by one.
Nanmi said,
“Okay, snipers, please mute the stream audio when we give the signal via chat.”
Then I addressed the team.
“We might get a map we don’t want. If we start on defense, we’ll start like this no matter what.”
To some, this strategy might seem ridiculous. But to me?
I believe we have to break the enemy’s spirit from the start.
“Games are about momentum. To seize it, you have to disrupt the enemy’s rhythm. In other words, crush their spirit. And there’s no better
way than this.”
Successfully sniping the enemy.
And escaping alive on top of that.
Nanmi continued,
“To escape alive, I need your help. If we succeed and make it out, we’ll completely shift the momentum in our favor.”
“Got it!”
“Wow, this feels intense. I’m excited.”
“Hehe, I thought long and hard about this strategy. Let’s try it. Okay, here we go.”
As I gave the signal via chat, the enemy team came rushing in like they had been waiting.
Wow… Their team comp is no joke.
I could tell from their profiles that they were high tier.
I said,
“They’re the perfect goal. During these three days of practice, our team’s goal is to beat them once.”
Considering their tier, we can’t ignore their mechanics.
Judging by our team’s tier, beating them won’t be easy.
But that’s okay.
If we keep practicing, we’ll win at least once.
“Yuze-nim.”
“yes!”
“I’ll give you the timing. Target is the Time Mage. I’ll boost your movement speed, so calmly charge at them. Head back toward our side.”
“Got it!”
“Larne-nim.”
“Yes?”
“When Yuze-nim charges, run toward the enemy and set up a barrier. Don’t go too deep—just straight ahead.”
“Okay!”
“Alright, then…”
I checked the enemy team.
Wow… Seriously… They’re incredible people.
They really weren’t scouting us at all.
That means they just had the audio on without stream sniping.
How kind.
I smiled and said to Larne-nim,
“This is our first attempt. Even if we fail, let’s try.”
“Yes!”
“Okay, here we go. One, two, three. Go.”
I activated the movement speed buff and flanked with Paladin.
From their point of view, it was a pincer attack.
Not like Battle Island where you can easily respond—this had real risk.
Here, Nanmi slowed time.
Yuze-nim charged toward the enemy Time Mage.
Then, their Female Soldier spotted us.
Her right hand rose—it was the motion to fire a tranquilizer gun.
I ran at her.
The Time Mage’s skill: [Time Wave].
It sounds flashy, but it just pushes enemies back.
I used Time Wave on the Female Soldier.
Bang!
She was knocked aside.
Her tranquilizer missed Paladin, and Yuze-nim successfully grabbed the Time Mage and retreated.
Once I saw that, I grinned and deactivated my skill.
Smash!
“Wow It worked! I can’t believe that actually worked!”
I also succeeded in escaping with speed boost.
It was a full success.
But no time to relax.
This part is crucial.
I gave another order to Yuze-nim.
“Yuze-nim, go help Larne-nim hold the barrier. Everyone else, follow up and clean up the rest.”
My tone was calm and gentle, but Nanmi was giving precise orders at just the right timing.
Matching each moment with careful, step-by-step instructions.
And so, our first clash ended in victory.
Yuze asked in disbelief,
“Wow, I didn’t think that would actually work.”
“People fall for it more often than you think.”
It might seem reckless, but lots of people fall for it.
Because it’s not a standard strategy.
Most assume the Paladin is holding a shield in front of their team.
I said,
“This time it worked, but there will be times we fail. The important thing is escaping alive. Don’t focus on getting kills—focus on making it
back.”
“Got it!”
