Chapter 6
[Ruin Lv. 35]
[Job: Academy Student]
[Favorability: -70]
[Favorite Conversation Topic: Yuria]
[Disliked Conversation Topic: Inferiority Complex about Magic]
Gently pressing Ruin’s head with the hope of making him humble, a cute sound came out.
“Kyaaaak. Hicc… Kyaaak, f*ck! Let go!”
A loud noise, reminiscent of the squeaky shoes Kids wear. Strangely addictive.
Ruin struggled. It seemed my disciplinary touch was not welcome.
“Don’t move. You’ll dirty the floor.”
Cleaning is a hassle, you know.
A small crack appeared on the marble floor. I had struck with the thought of silencing him, but I might have used more force than I intended. But still, what can I do? I’m angry.
I decided to blame Ruin.
The Green-haired Head was at fault.
I couldn’t stand his fake friendliness with that greasy-looking face.
“Ruin.”
“You f*cking.”
Clench. The sound of Ruin grinding his teeth reached my ears. I responded by pressing his head harder.
“When someone calls you, answer humbly. Got it?”
I added one more thing.
“Oh, right. And no swearing in our mansion.”
In this mansion, only Olivia was allowed to swear.
Even I wasn’t allowed to.
External guests were also prohibited.
A rule set by the Young Lady since she was three. Something about it being for her alone.
Since it’s her house, she does as she pleases, and as her Butler, I have no choice but to comply.
Annoying as it is to deal with guests who lack basic manners, it is the Butler’s virtue to treat even such guests with kindness. I decided to explain it despite the annoyance.
Cursing is bad, after all.
“Didn’t I tell you at the Academy? You need to distinguish time and place when speaking.”
“Don’t try to teach me, you bastard!”
“Don’t shout. You’ll wake the Young Lady.”
I pressed Ruin’s head down humbly once again as he began to lose his composure.
Ruin twisted his body violently.
And then he created another red sphere in his hand.
Ruin quickly stood up and poured a Fireball onto my face. Why does this green-haired guy use Fire Magic? He truly has no sense of romance.
While I was reproaching Ruin, who had lost all sense of romance, the hot sphere he created was about to touch my face.
I didn’t dodge.
Since it was hastily created, its power wasn’t that strong and it didn’t feel particularly threatening.
-Boom!
[‘Fire Resistance’ nullifies Ruin’s magic.]
With a small notification sound, the sphere Ruin had created fizzled out. As the dazzling light disappeared, Ruin’s foolish expression became visible.
I snatched Ruin’s wrist and slammed it to the ground.
Crunch.
“Aaaaaaagh!!”
“Shh.”
I humbly pressed Ruin’s head down once more.
“Do you think you’ll walk away unscathed after this?”
“Did you think you’d walk away unscathed after that?”
Ruin trembled like a third-rate Antagonist.
He didn’t look like a Supporting Male Lead at all.
Seeing the name ‘Yuria’ on the Affinity Window, it seemed he was still in unrequited love with her. What a shame, considering he’s destined to be brutally rejected in the Original Work by the Renowned Healer.
His sunflower-like devotion was endearing, but knowing the future where Ruin would hear Yuria’s rejection to just remain as good friends made him pitiful.
“Get yourself together. Stop whining to Yuria every day after getting beaten up, and at least try being a Bread Shuttle to earn some points.”
“Don’t underestimate me!”
“I don’t want to look down on you, but you’re too pitiful for me not to.”
Ruin is certainly overwhelmingly strong.
In the novel, he starts awakening in earnest after rescuing the Heroine from danger, but even before his awakening, Ruin was among the strong ones.
However, he has absolutely no talent for choosing his opponents.
Like Mikhail.
Or beings like the Third Princess.
He even picked a fight with Olivia and ended up getting beaten like a dog.
“It’s embarrassing to get beaten up every day, so pick a weaker opponent.”
I deliberately provoked Ruin.
Since I suffered, it’s only fair he pays for it.
It could be considered bad.
But thinking about what these bastards did to me at the Academy, what I’m doing is practically saintly.
And I am the Villainess’s Butler.
If asked whether I’m good or bad, I’d fall into the bad category.
Of course, I’m a good person, but since my job is being the Villainess’s Butler, I can’t just be a push-over.
Paying it back double is kind of an occupational habit.
Ruin, gritting his teeth and probably cursing me, seemed desperate to escape my grip as he flailed.
With sparks bursting from his hands.
And a stinging sensation on my back.
He seemed to still be firing magic.
It would be nice if he could stay still like a fish, but unfortunately, I only have two hands.
“Haven’t you changed at all in a year?”
Facing magic weaker than a mosquito, I mentally summoned the Status Window.

[Aura (A)]
[Genius of Weaponry (S)]
[Regeneration (A)]
[Limit Break (L)]
A Status Window that looks solid to anyone.
The essence of the past 13 years was contained within it.
Personally, I think it’s a basic virtue for the Protagonist of a novel where Regression, Reincarnation, and Return are the main themes to at least have immunity to all poisons.
It’s not a choice but a necessity.
Assassination always follows the Protagonist.
If someone is more successful than you, there will surely be an Antagonist who finds it distasteful, and inevitably, there will be someone who tries to assassinate you.
I was afraid of such things.
Because I, too, am a Possessor who knows the Future.
No matter how much I try to live quietly, I inevitably stand out. Even if I try to feign ignorance, it is the fate of a Possessor to act like they know.
If you’re Possessed, shouldn’t you at least be healthy as the Eldest Sibling?
So, I amicably consumed poison with the Lady Villainess. The reason was simple: to build resistance in my body.
-Ricardo, my stomach hurts.
-It’s fine. It’s good for your health.
-I think it’s because of the mushroom soup you made earlier.
-How were the mushrooms?
-They were fancy. Extremely.
-That’s a good thing.
Prepared individuals are strong.
That’s why I accumulated a lot of abilities related to resistance.
I used the Original Work to build up resistance.
I fortified my body by reaping Fortuitous Encounters without disrupting the Story.
And I reaped the benefits of Affinity Quests.
Thirteen years have passed since I was Possessed, and if I were to be trampled by a mere Sub Male Lead, I wouldn’t deserve the title of Possessor.
While looking at the Status Window with a Satisfied Smile.
“Hiccup!”
A hiccuping sound was heard.
It was Hanna, the companion of the Green-haired Head. She was staring blankly at me while hiccuping.
“Hiccup…”
“Ah…”
“Hic… Hic… Hiccup!”
A Junior, fumbling with her hands, caught between indecision.
She felt embarrassed for showing such a foolish side.
“I’m sorry to show you this side of me. I must have gotten too excited meeting my friend after such a long time.”
“Friend…?”
“Yes, a friend.”
Hanna wanted to go home.
Ignoring her sentiment, I continued to engage in deep conversation with the Guest.
“Ruin.”
“This monster bastard.”
Press…
He shows no sign of becoming humble.
‘Should I make him pass out?’
Red Aura began to flow from my hand.
***
Hanna was dumbfounded.
‘Why is that man using Aura?’
Aura is a symbol of Talent.
Among outstanding Knights, the timing of mastering Aura determines superiority in Talent.
The youngest person to awaken Aura in the Empire was 25 years old, so who is this Man to wield Aura as if it were part of his body?
Even Senior Mikhail, hailed as an Unprecedented Talent at the Academy, has yet to manifest Aura.
-Crunch.
The sight of the Butler playing with Ruin’s head like a toy sent chills down her spine.
‘What is that man?’
Hanna could only silently watch the scene.
***
“Aaaagh!! You f*cking bastard, I’ll kill you!”
“Your voice is too loud.”
Crunch.
A chilling rupture echoed through the room.
“I told you the Young Lady might wake up.”
“So what! Whether that b*tch wakes up or not, it’s none of my business!”
“It is your business.”
I spoke to him.
“Otherwise, you might never speak with your mouth again.”
I hold no ill will toward Ruin.
In fact, I was glad to see an old friend after such a long time.
It’s just that there’s a lot of unresolved history between us, so emotions ran high, but I believed that if we could talk and resolve our past, we could become friends again.
“As of now, there’s no magic that can represent your voice, is there? If you’re planning to invent one, then keep shouting.”
Ruin, who had finally quieted down.
I decided to establish some principles for Ruin, who now seemed willing to have a conversation.
“At the Academy, it’s fine to curse me. You can even curse at our Young Lady.”
Because it’s a place where everyone is equal.
The Academy is a place where you can even speak informally to the Princess.
There are rules, and they must be followed.
However, the consequences of retaliation are your responsibility, but anyhow, freedom of speech is guaranteed at the Academy.
“But not in Our Mansion.”
I tightened my grip.
I thought I wasn’t angry.
But it seemed a bit of my Switch had been flipped.
‘This is dangerous.’
I had a hunch.
If Ruin provoked me any further, his act as a Supporting Male Lead would come to an end.
I spoke as gently as possible, trying not to provoke Ruin.
“I’m not doing this because I’m worried you’ll make a mistake outside. You’re not going to live at the Academy forever, are you?”
I was sincere.
If you live happily in the greenhouse-like Academy and then come out into society, addressing a Noble with, ‘Hey, long time no see,’ you might end up with your Neck Getting Chopped Off.
“So, listen carefully.”
This is advice from someone who has experienced society.
“Don’t mess around. You’ll end up dead.”
***
Knocking Ruin unconscious, I walked toward Hanna.
Flinch. Her shoulders trembled.
I extended my hand to her and said.
“I’m sorry.”
“Ah… it’s okay.”
I bowed my head, conveying my genuine regret.
“I’m truly sorry. I don’t know what to say for showing you such a disgraceful scene.”
“It’s fine. More importantly, I have another appointment to get to.”
Hanna hurriedly packed her bag.
She seemed eager to leave this house as soon as possible. I gently blocked her path.
“No. It might take some time for your companion to wake up. Please rest a bit.”
“It’s really okay!”
I firmly said.
“Go upstairs to the second floor and rest.”
“What??”
I looked up at the second floor.
“So noisy─────oh f*ck!!!”
A familiar voice could be heard.
I glared at the fainted Ruin. I genuinely wanted to kill him.
“It seems the Young Lady has woken up. Please keep her company.”
If you woke her up, you should take responsibility.
I had no intention of letting her leave until she put the Young Lady back to sleep.
