Chapter 6: A Lucky First Day [R-18]
by MeherIn that moment, Seojin’s eyes trembled faintly.
Her breathing grew ragged, her fingertips limp. Her slender fingers slid down the back of the sofa before finally falling lifelessly into the air.
“Hey, what’s with her? What’s wrong?” one of the bickering drill instructors shouted, looking down at her.
His pants were still halfway down, but the conflict that had erupted between the instructors had broken his concentration.
“Ah, fuck. Don’t ruin the mood!”
“Still, you have to know when to stop! What are we going to do if she actually passes out?”
The argument between the instructors grew rougher. One straightened up, placing a hand on his chin, while the other clenched his fist and glared down at Seojin.
To make it look like she was losing consciousness, Seojin deliberately fluttered her eyelashes slowly.
She let out a low moan, her breath coming in ragged gasps. Her chest trembled faintly, her skin slick with the heat from moments before.
This was her chance.
Taking advantage of the instructors’ distraction, Seojin very slowly leaned her body forward. She moved deliberately, making it look as though all her strength had drained away.
“Hey, Kang Seojin. Are you conscious?”
The tension between the instructors momentarily eased. Still, not ready to abandon their desires, one of them reached out and grabbed Seojin’s chin, lifting it.
Seojin’s gaze went unfocused, and she parted her lips slightly. She continued her act, looking as if she were trying to speak but lacked the strength to make a sound.
All the while, her mind was racing.
Just a little more… a little more…
One of the instructors lightly slapped her cheek, but Seojin didn’t even react properly to the touch. She remained limp as if every ounce of strength had left her body, appearing half-conscious.
“Ah, this is going too far!”
“Fuck, what’s the big deal? You already came once.”
A small stir went through the instructors. One of them bit his lip hard.
“Hey, if this goes south, we’re the only ones who’ll get fucked. Let’s just send her back.”
“What? Don’t be ridiculous. Now?”
“Look, if something really happens, we won’t be able to handle it.”
Seojin felt her heart pound, a dizzying sensation washing over her, but she knew she had to seize this moment.
The instructors were growing more agitated.
They had been swept up in their lust, but now, a sudden fear of the changing situation began to creep in.
“Ha, fuck…”
One of the instructors roughly grabbed her arm and pulled her up.
“Hey, can you walk?”
Slowly, very slowly, Seojin nodded. At the same time, she deliberately swayed, making it look like her legs were about to give out.
“Fuck, what a pain in the ass.”
The instructor roughly pulled her clothes back on her, shoved her belt into his pocket, and supported her as he walked toward the barracks. Seojin hadn’t even been able to put on her underwear, but she closed her eyes, hiding her expression as best she could.
A faint smile played on her lips.
It worked…
When the door to the barracks opened, the TS soldiers inside all turned their heads at once. Yoon Taeyoung shot up from her spot and rushed toward Seojin.
But her expression hardened when she saw the instructor beside her.
“Hey, take her.”
As Taeyoung took over supporting Seojin, the instructor let her into the room and slowly scanned the interior, his gaze like that of a predator choosing his next target now that he was done dropping Seojin off.
A chill shot through Seojin.
I can’t let this happen.
Just because she had escaped didn’t mean it was over. There were still three others here, and they had five long weeks to go. They couldn’t all just get called out and conveniently collapse.
She glanced up, studying the instructor’s expression. He was already scanning the faces and bodies of the TS soldiers one by one, a look of interest on his face.
“Still, you all look like you’re in good shape. You’re under special management anyway, so lights out early for you.”
He let out a satisfied snort and left. The lights were forcibly shut off, and the sound of the door closing echoed through the room, plunging everything into silence.
“Hey, are you okay?” Yoon Taeyoung asked again.
Seojin slowly sat down on her bunk. Her legs were trembling, but she had made it back. The problem wasn’t what came next, but what started now.
She took a deep breath.
“Not really… but they didn’t take my virginity.”
Taeyoung’s lips twitched.
“That bastard… you saw the fucking creepy way he was looking at us, right?”
“I saw,” Hyunjin answered in a low voice.
“Fucking hell…”
Taeyoung flipped off the door, venting her frustration at the shitty situation.
“…Doesn’t look like they’ll call anyone else tonight, at least.”
Seojin was the first to lean back against her bed.
“I don’t even have the energy to think.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, the tension finally seemed to drain from Seojin’s body, and she slowly sank down. In her exhausted state, there was nothing she could do right now anyway.
She would think tomorrow. She closed her eyes.
And so, another day passed.
The dog-shit sound of a bugle rang out.
The moment Seojin opened her eyes, her body ached. She was still exhausted, but being forced to wake up was a stark reminder that this was the military.
“Fuuuck…” Taeyoung swore under her breath.
Hyunjin silently kicked off her blanket and got up. Next to her, Seojin pushed herself up with a deep frown.
After the morning roll call, all the trainees gathered on the training grounds.
“Everyone! Prepare for the morning run!”
At the instructor’s shout, the TS soldiers began to run, mixed in with the regular trainees.
Seojin pushed forward, her face scrunched in a grimace.
But not long after she started running, she felt stares boring into her from the back of the line.
“Hey, you see that? I heard that bitch went to the instructors’ office yesterday.”
“Fuck, for real? That’s insane.”
“Hey, aren’t all the TS soldiers just rewards anyway?”
“I’m so fucking jealous of the instructors.”
Seojin gritted her teeth.
It seemed the rumor had already spread just from her having been in the instructors’ office. Now even the regular trainees were starting to harass them.
“Hey, classmate. Get a taste of a man yesterday?” someone whispered right beside her.
Seojin didn’t react. But the men kept talking.
“Ah fuck, I wanna do it with you so bad. My dick’s fucking huge.”
Taeyoung, running beside her, clenched her jaw.
“These fucking bastards…”
“What, are you jealous? Pissed they didn’t call for you?”
“Hey, just wait. I’ll get a high rank and pick you.”
Seojin’s expression showed she couldn’t take it anymore either, but there was nothing she could do.
Starting a fight here and now would get them nothing.
In the end, she just kept running.
After the run, which they endured amidst the insults, they all stood in line again, drenched in sweat.
An instructor stepped forward and said with a broad smile, “Alright, that’s it for the morning run.”
At his words, snickers spread through the ranks, as if the trainees were imagining him and Seojin together. Seojin gritted her teeth.
Only one day had passed, but the next five weeks felt like a bleak eternity.
After their meal, Seojin and her group returned to the barracks. The other trainees were running around, following their training schedule, but the TS soldiers were on special standby.
They had no schedule at all.
Waiting. Endless waiting.
Normally, one might think this was a sweet deal in the military. But Seojin felt she would rather be running up a mountain with a full pack.
“Fuck, if they’re gonna do this, they might as well just make us train,” Taeyoung muttered irritably as she flopped onto her bed.
“Something much tougher than training is waiting for us,” Hyunjin said calmly.
She was right. What awaited them in these barracks wasn’t training. It was them.
During the day, the TS soldiers were given a separate time to wash. They were given time to shower and clean themselves up while no one else was around.
“Ah, this sucks. I never thought showering every day would feel like such a burden.”
Returning from her shower, Taeyoung was drying her clothes, her shoulders slumped.
In other barracks, showering with everyone else was a chore, but the TS soldiers, as ‘subjects under management,’ were given their own time and told to take it easy.
By now, they knew all too well what that meant.
“Who will it be today?”
Someone’s words, tossed out casually, hung heavy in the air.
And as soon as night fell, that prediction became reality.
The lights in the barracks went out, and everyone had just settled into their bunks.
Click.
The door opened.
Footsteps approached at a steady rhythm. Some held their breath on purpose; others tried to act indifferent. But they were all thinking the same thing.
Whose turn is it today?
The instructor’s footsteps stopped.
Seojin slowly swallowed from inside her bed.
“Trainee Yoon Taeyoung.”
At that single phrase, everyone instinctively looked at her.
Taeyoung froze, sitting on her bunk. Her hands clenched on her knees. Seojin watched her profile.
Gritting her teeth, Taeyoung slowly rose from her spot. The instructor nonchalantly left the barracks, and Taeyoung followed with heavy steps.
The door closed, and silence fell.
Seojin stared at the ceiling.
Taeyoung was now walking the same path she had walked yesterday.
And tomorrow, and the day after that, who would be next?
Her breath caught in her throat.
Five weeks.
This was only the second day.
