Chapter 55: The Angel Who Creates a Club (8)

    Episode 55

    What is a dorm supervisor?

A dorm supervisor is a teacher who manages dormitories. Their main duty is to guide and supervise the lives of dormitory students.

Hexi imagined herself as Leffrey’s dorm supervisor.

    ‘Guidance and supervision… I’ll be directly supervising Angel-nim’s life…’

    Angel-nim…

No, to guide and supervise Leffrey’s life…

Hexi, imagining the future that would unfold, grinned creepily.

    “Hehehe…”

Already looking a bit sinister due to her Angelic Power deficiency, even the clueless Leffrey, and Soya, who was even more clueless than Leffrey, could tell that Hexi’s smile was a bit off.

    “L-Leffrey.”

    Soya tugged on Leffrey’s sleeve.

    “Hehehe.”

“Leffrey! I have a sixth sense! And my sixth sense says that, that professor didn’t come here with pure intentions!”

Actually, even without a sixth sense, anyone could easily tell that Hexi was having dark thoughts.

“We have to kick her out… She’s a black magic-hating professor!”

Soya kept whining and pulling on Leffrey’s sleeve, but Leffrey couldn’t easily kick Hexi out.

    Leffrey was lost in thought.

‘I don’t want someone to supervise us.’

Why do people start living on their own?

There are many reasons why people start living on their own, but… the first one that would come to mind is ‘freedom’.

‘Surely, in movies and novels, dorm supervisors always nag, saying things like “This place is dirty, so clean it up. Go to bed early. What is this mess? Stop snacking so much.” and so on.’

If he had to listen to such nagging, it would be difficult to even clean the cathedral until it sparkled, cleaning Soya’s messy room would be awkward, and he might even be nagged for making Soya hearty lunchboxes to prevent her from snacking…

‘Wait, what kind of life have I been living?’

    Leffrey almost shed a tear.

‘I’m not some fairy tale Cinderella, what the…’

If Hexi knew about Leffrey’s lifestyle… She might even cry alongside him instead of nagging.

Truly this was Leffrey, the pitiful angel.

    “Leffrey?”

Soya, the thankful(?) being who helped Leffrey with this kind of lifestyle, tilted her head. Leffrey smiled slightly and patted her head.

“Ugh, stop treating me like a child…”

    Soya said that, but…

    … she didn’t shake off Leffrey’s hand.

    “This is Impure…!”

But seeing Hexi seething with anger, it seemed like this would become a problem.

“Professor, why don’t we have breakfast first? You probably came here without eating because it’s so early.”

So Leffrey decided to do this.

If Hexi provided as much Angelic Power as Soya, he would accept Hexi as a new member of the cathedral. But if she didn’t, he would use his power as an angel to send her away.

If he commanded her as an angel, Hexi would whine but ultimately listen.

‘Hexi listened to me during the student council incident last time. I can stop Hexi!’

Of course, he could stop Hexi now.

But would he really be able to do so in the future?

The foolish Leffrey didn’t think that far.

‘There will be more problems if Soya and Hexi live together, but problems caused by heroes are a source of Angelic Power!’

    Leffrey clenched his fist.

“I’ll prepare breakfast quickly, so have a seat. Soya, you too, sit down.”

    “B-But…”

Soya, acting like a child being dragged to the dentist, shuffled to the table and sat down.

Hexi, naturally, sat across from Soya, observing her intently.

    “Student.”

    “…Yes?”

    “What’s your name?”

Soya hesitated for a moment, then slowly opened her mouth.

    “Soya.”

    “Is your last name ‘So’?”

“Hmph, I abandoned my original last name a long time ago. Just call me Soya!” (TL Note: Korean follows a different order so their surname[Han] goes first then given name[Soya] last. Han is a family name which would typically be put in last for western.)

Hexi nodded, then lifted her teacup gracefully, like a true princess.

    “Soya, let’s get along.”

She spoke as if it were already decided that she would be the dorm supervisor of this cathedral. Soya, unable to refute the professor’s words, trembled slightly.

‘At least that’s a relief. Hexi, after receiving Angelic Power, seems quite normal.’

    Think about it.

Vampires didn’t always crave blood and go mad, and even werewolves could live as ordinary humans when the moon wasn’t out.

    Artificial Heroes were the same.

With warm, sun-like Angelic Power, they could act like a true noble.

    ‘Wait, if it’s similar to a vampire’s instincts… doesn’t that mean she’ll go berserk again if I disappear for a long time…?’

Leffrey, stirring the eggs, was lost in thought.

His thoughts weren’t about the future events that would unfold or the profound truth of this world…

‘Should I cook one more slice of bacon?’

    …but about breakfast.

    “Professor, are you very hungry?”

    “No, I am quite alright.”

“Professor, please don’t use formal speech…”

    “Ah, I’m fine.”

Soya tilted her head, seeing Hexi suddenly use formal speech. But she seemed oblivious to why Hexi was using it.

And so, a simple breakfast of bacon, pancakes, and scrambled eggs was prepared.

    “Lumberjack style, huh?”

Hexi, seeing the breakfast, asked lightly.

    “Yes.”

    Leffrey nodded, and…

“Lumberjack? Ah, it’s lumberjack style? Lumberjack is good.”

    Soya pretended to know.

Hexi slowly picked up her utensils gracefully. And Soya, clumsily mimicking Hexi, picked up hers. Thus began their breakfast.

Food made by an angel, entering the mouths of heroes.

[Providing a meal to a hungry future hero is an angelic act!]

    [You have gained Angelic Power.]

[Providing a meal to a hungry Artificial Hero is an angelic act!]

    [You have gained Angelic Power.]

    ‘Two barracks on.’

    Double the marines.

No, a magic that doubles Angelic Power production.

‘Professor Hexi. You can join us!’

Leffrey nodded as he cut the pancakes.

    Knock knock-

There was another knock on the door.

“…We have a lot of guests this morning.”

The next guest was a delivery.

Only a package was left in front of the cathedral, and the delivery person was nowhere to be seen, a bit strange, but…

The sender’s address read ‘New Angel Church Headquarters’.

“What is this? New Angel Church? Where is this?”

    Leffrey opened the package.

Inside lay a small dagger and a glove made of white leather.

    “Wait, these are…”

They were the angel’s holy weapons he had seen at that cult, New Truth Church. They had sparkled so brightly that he thought they were just children’s toys, but…

‘Judging from people’s reactions, they seemed real. But they sent these genuine angel’s holy weapons to me?’

    Angel’s holy weapons.

If these were auctioned, they would be sold at a price that even S-rank artifacts couldn’t compare to…

But he thought they had completely forgotten about him after he collapsed from being possessed by Leffriel… What kind of place was this New Angel Church to send him this?

    “Leffrey, what is it?”

Hexi’s voice came from behind him.

    “Ah, a delivery arrived.”

    “Delivery?”

Hexi was standing behind him before he knew it. Hexi muttered in a puzzled voice,

“Leffrey, we don’t have deliveries at our academy.”

    “Ah…”

That was why Leffrey, the wealthy angel with a lot of money, had to sleep on the floor of the furniture-less cathedral.

“But a delivery? You need at least the power and influence of a large guild to secretly send a delivery to our academy. Where was it sent from?”

To send a delivery to the academy… you need at least the power of a large guild?

These people from the New Angel Church…

What kind of people are they?

“Don’t open it yet. I’ll open it.”

    “…I already opened it.”

    “What?”

    Hexi hurriedly approached Leffrey.

And she, seeing the weapons inside the box, muttered,

    “These are… angel’s holy weapons.”

Her voice was filled with awe. It was literally the voice of someone who had seen something unbelievable.

    “Angel’s holy weapons?”

“Yes, the archangel’s dagger, Flabellum, and the seraph’s gloves, Sanctus…”

    Flabellum and Sanctus.

They were the same names he had heard at the New Truth Church.

“Flabellum, the only sword capable of containing holy flames. If a righteous angel wields this sword, it boasts divine power and strength…comparable to the Hero’s Sword.”

Strength comparable to the Hero’s Sword?

Leffrey couldn’t believe Hexi’s words now.

‘Equal to or greater than the Hero’s Sword?’

    Leffrey gulped.

“Sanctus, an angel’s holy weapon known to be on par with Flabellum. Legend says that it grants powers related to an angel’s abilities or authority…”

Hexi, who had been calm until now, completely lost her composure after looking at these two holy weapons. Hexi, the archery professor, was on the verge of drooling once again, completely captivated by Angelic Power.

    “Professor?”

    “Heh.”

    “Professor!”

    “Oh, yes…”

Leffrey looked at Hexi and said,

    “…Go and wash your face.”

    “Okay…”

“The bathroom is in the back.”

Thus, Hexi, in a daze, retreated. Leffrey watched her go, then muttered,

“How on earth did the demon army…”

To just hand over two angels holy weapons to a Heavenly King, what kind of items did the demon king possess that he could give away such precious things to his subordinates?

‘Well, I already knew the demon king was strong.’

Leffrey hid his fear and slowly equipped the sword in his right hand and the glove on his left.

The sword and glove, as if they were being imprinted by Leffrey’s Angelic Power, began to shine brightly… but after a while, they lost their light and returned to being an ordinary dagger and glove.

[The holy weapon’s stats have decreased because the wearer’s level is too low.]

[The holy weapon’s stats have decreased because the wearer’s level is too low.]

[The holy weapon’s stats have decreased because the wearer’s level is too low.]

And disappointing messages were a bonus.

‘As expected, I can’t be like Leffriel.’

    Leffrey’s level was too low.

Naturally, he couldn’t compare to Leffriel.

‘But they’re still angel’s holy weapons… they’ll be much stronger if I use my Angelic Abilities.’

Even so, the fact that these angel’s holy weapons were powerful remained unchanged.

Even in this weakened state, they were stronger than most S-rank artifacts. They might even be on par with EX-rank artifacts, known as strategic artifacts.

Such immense power echoed within this sword and glove.

    “Leffrey.”

Just as Leffrey was lost in thought about the power of his new items…

    Another guest visited the cathedral.

A female student who was slightly out of breath, if it weren’t for the small horn on her forehead, she was so beautiful that he would have mistaken her for an actress.

    “Mari.”

“Leffrey, that professor from the archery department. She hasn’t arrived yet, has she?”

    “The archery professor… Professor Hexi?”

Yumari, with her usual indifferent expression, said to Leffrey,

“Yes, there’s a rumor that the professor, driven mad, is targeting you.”

“Right, that professor is really dangerous. She’s an Artificial Hero, you know?”

A familiar voice came from beside them.

The owner of the voice was the pink-haired girl, Hongwol.

Instead of entering through the main door, Hongwol was trying to get inside the cathedral through a narrow gap in the window.

    “It’s, it’s narrow.”

“…Wol, why are you coming in through the window?”

    Hongwol’s face instantly flushed red.

    She quickly changed the subject,

“Th-That’s not important! So, that crazy professor hasn’t arrived yet? That psycho bitch who won’t even talk to anyone except those archery nobles…”

“Leffrey, let’s go back to our dorm. That professor is dangerous. According to rumors, Hexi is so…”

While Hongwol and Mari were chattering, Leffrey felt a chilling presence behind him.

    “P-Professor…”

    “Hmm.”

Professor Hexi was standing behind Leffrey, calmly wiping her hands.
