Chapter 53: Zombie Outbreak

Zombie Outbreak
So far, I had done two main things with the seed of negativity.
First, I continuously injected my mana to purify the latent negativity.
Second, I modified the magic formula embedded in the seed of negativity to make it unable to disobey my commands.
‘Both of these took quite a long time due to the immense power of the seed of negativity.’
As I continued to progress, I was eventually able to manipulate the power spread within the seed of negativity as I desired.
I watched with satisfaction the seed of negativity that didn’t show any resistance even though I had picked it up.
Slowly pulling the mana contained in the seed of negativity, I looked at the creatures in front of me.
‘It would be better to kill them first.’
Then, deciding to use the mana from the seed of negativity to turn these creatures into zombies.
I ordered all the nearby guards to leave.
Making such a judgment, I cast a spell to ensure the corpses would be damaged as little as possible.
*
Turning corpses into zombies wasn’t a particularly difficult task.
It was simply a matter of distributing the mana from the seed of negativity to corpses in relatively good condition.
I looked at the zombies groaning and swaying their bodies in front of me, and decided to gradually release them into the city center.
‘However, just releasing them would cause many problems.’
I decided to dress them in robes similar to those of the Heaven God Cult before releasing them, and smiled slightly.
‘If used well, we could pin all the problems that occurred on those Heaven God Cult guys.’
Deciding to attribute even the things they didn’t do to them, I used magic to gather these zombies together.
Then, after putting them in a large box-like container nearby, I slowly turned my gaze.
‘Then I should release them tomorrow where the Heaven God Cult members were discovered.’
Since there would be many people investigating this now, rather than proceeding with the work immediately.
I decided to do it during the quieter dawn hours and relaxed my shoulders.
* * *
Surprisingly, even though a considerable number of corpses had disappeared, the guards didn’t seem to care much.
I’m not sure if it’s because Chloe had done something similar before, or if they were just brushing it off due to Deren’s notorious reputation.
Whatever it was, it was a good direction for me, so I had put them in boxes and placed them in suitable locations without much burden.
‘Then I’ll go out at dawn and proceed with the work.’
For now, I decided to rest for a while and was lying on the bed.
Someone carefully knocks on the door and calls for me.
“Deren…”
Judging by the tone, it seems to be Rumi.
Curious about the reason for her late-night visit, I opened the door.
Rumi, looking like a lost puppy in an unfamiliar place, glanced around nervously before slowly entering the room and speaking.
“I came because I have something to say.”
While I was hesitating, wondering if it was right to let a girl into the room late at night.
Rumi brought up something that couldn’t be ignored.
“I want to talk about the Heaven God Cult…”
For Rumi, the Heaven God Cult must be nothing short of a trauma.
Surprised that she came to tell me about this, I silently watched her.
Rumi, with her eyes tightly shut, speaks to me as if making a confession.
“The reason the Heaven God Cult keeps attacking is because of me.”
Since I already knew this, I nodded indifferently.
Rumi continues to speak to me while fidgeting with her fingers.
“So… if, if you just hand me over to the Heaven God Cult… things like this won’t happen anymore. There won’t be any more problems…”
I was wondering what she was trying to say, but it seems she wanted to suggest handing herself over for my sake.
I inwardly chuckled, recalling Rumi’s personality that had been shown throughout the story.
I spoke firmly, meaning that there was absolutely no way that would happen.
“No.”
“W-What?”
“Why should I lower myself to such low-class beings?”
Although it was extremely arrogant, perhaps due to what had been shown so far, Rumi seemed to have gained a sense of trust.
Thinking this should be enough.
I casually started speaking, meaning to tell her to go back quickly before it got any later.
“Then go to your room and sleep now.”
At those words, Rumi nodded nervously.
Then, as if she had thought of something, she took a step closer to me and spoke.
“Um… Deren.”
“What is it?”
“Well… I have a favor to ask.”
With those words, Rumi crossed her arms, slightly lifting her large breasts.
The thin nightgown she was wearing already made their shape more distinct than usual.
Doing that action made their appearance even clearer, making me flustered.
‘Considering Rumi’s personality, it doesn’t seem like she did it intentionally.’
Thinking that such results would occur whether intended or not due to her large chest, I awkwardly averted my eyes.
After all, such a sight was too stimulating in the current situation.
I’m trying to calm my confused mind while staring blankly at the picture.
Rumi looks at me and speaks with a voice full of shyness.
“P-Please… pat me.”
Is she asking me to pat her head?
Normally, I would have refused and sent her away, but whether it’s because it’s nighttime or because of what I saw earlier.
I find it strangely difficult to refuse, and just as I’m about to pat her head.
“Not there… please rub my belly.”
A somewhat surprising request is heard.
“… Your belly?”
At those words, Rumi nods quickly and starts to say things that anyone would see as excuses.
“Um… my belly got cold and it hurts. I thought it might feel better if someone else touched it…! And, and since I’m Deren’s dog, I think it’s right to leave it to Deren.”
Rumi, seemingly unaware of how strange her words sound.
Wears a somewhat proud expression, or rather, an even more satisfied expression as she boldly tells me.
I chuckle at her unabashedly bold words and try to refuse by closing the door.
Suddenly, Rumi grabs my hand and makes me touch her belly.
Then she makes me press firmly on her lower abdomen and smiles broadly.
“Deren’s hand is warm…”
I couldn’t help but pause for a moment at the soft and smooth sensation enveloping my hand.
Although there’s a sense that her belly is quite thin due to insufficient nutrition.
Even considering this, the softness unique to a woman’s body and the small breaths she takes felt strangely pleasant to the touch.
‘… This is driving me crazy.’
Even though I noticed, I pretended not to know because I’m also a man.
I was trying to control myself as much as possible, knowing that once I start crossing the line, I would surely go too far.
I looked at Rumi, thinking that if she approaches me like this, it will be difficult to hold back any longer.
“……”
Rumi, having done this herself, seems quite embarrassed by the situation, her ears turning red as she starts to hiccup.
I was absentmindedly watching Rumi’s face, which I found quite cute, when
I could hear the footsteps of servants coming from the end of the hallway.
“… Go to sleep.”
Having barely regained my senses, I quickly lowered my hands and spoke as if pushing Rumi away.
Rumi looked at me for a moment, then quickly nodded and fled down the hallway.
I watched Rumi’s retreating figure and sighed, holding my strangely heated head.
‘It seems something has changed.’
If she were just moderately pretty, I wouldn’t have batted an eye.
The problem is that I keep getting enchanted because she’s a character clearly designed to be beautiful.
I decided to keep a tighter grip on my sanity and slowly calmed my mind.
* * *
When the mansion became quiet, and only the mana-filled insects were softly crying out,
I decided to start using the zombies I had picked up from the torture chamber and got up.
‘I guess I’ll release them on the second floor.’
Using the VIP pass that exists in the academy, I could go up or down without necessarily using the central staircase.
Deciding to use this to release the zombies on the second floor, I slipped out of the mansion through the window.
The distance was farther than I thought.
However, using space compression magic to run, it didn’t take that long.
I arrived in less than 10 minutes and looked at the center of the second floor, placing the box I had brought with magic nearby.
‘It seems that security is still quite tight.’
There were quite a few investigators and security personnel moving around and inspecting, frequently visible.
I decided that if I proceeded like this, the zombies would likely be caught before they could properly activate.
So, I decided to first create a disturbance ‘in the opposite direction’ to draw all attention there.
‘It would weigh on my conscience to do this to innocent people.’
I looked around, deciding to blow up a building related to the Heaven God Cult or those who had bullied Rumi.
‘I remember there was a house of a magician who cruelly bullied Rumi somewhere around here.’
Not content with killing a commoner child who had bumped into him due to his cruel nature.
I looked around, recalling that the house of the guy who had trampled on Rumi when she tried to protect the commoner child was here.
‘It was said to be the largest, most luxurious house with a red roof right in the center of the second floor.’
As I slowly looked around, recalling these features.
I was able to find a mansion near the center that exactly matched the description I remembered.
‘Found it.’
Seeing this, I carelessly threw a zombie with the Heaven God Cult’s symbol engraved on it nearby.
Then I used the zero-point explosion magic, a spell that could make everyone equal, at the center of the mansion.
