Chapter 514: New Morning

The morning after Han Min-ah and her younger sisters started staying at our house.

The two-story private house, now even more bustling with the increased number of people, witnessed a rare morning scene it had never experienced before.

“Hey, Jin-ah! Hurry up and get out! I gotta go!”

“Ah, if you’re in a rush, why don’t you use the one in the master bedroom! Why are you bothering me!”

“Because Seon-ah is using the master bedroom!”

    “Wow….”

The scene of morning preparations for going out, what they call the ‘bathroom war’.

It wasn’t an exaggeration; it was truly a sight I had never seen in my life.

As for me, not only did I not have any siblings, but I had also been living alone for over 10 years recently.

Although I often stayed over at Eunyoung Noona’s house when I was young, I always went back home to sleep.

Although Eunbyul has been living with me recently, I hadn’t really experienced any inconvenience with her regarding the bathroom.

Besides, our usage times were different, and we had two bathrooms to begin with.

However, the morning after the family suddenly grew from two to five people was quite chaotic.

Watching the three sisters fight over the two bathrooms, for some reason, it gave me a strangely heartwarming feeling.

Seeing them like this from the very first day they moved in, their mornings must have been practically a war zone in their semi-basement villa.

“Why are you getting so worked up in the morning, Min-ah. If you just wait, Jin-ah will come out eventually.”

“…Ah, no. That Jin-ah of hers practically lives in the bathroom every morning! You don’t know because you haven’t lived with her, that’s why you’re so carefree.”

“It’s not even a regular workday today, so you can just go to work at your leisure. Are you that desperate?”

    “……”

“If you need it, should I buy something like cat litter just in case?”

“…I’ll fucking kill you. Who do you think I am, some kind of animal?”

As if my joke wasn’t funny at all, Han Min-ah glared at me with a serious expression. Not long after, the bathroom door opened, and Jin-ah walked out from inside.

“Aish, because my sister kept calling, it made me want to go back in…”

    “Ah, Jin-ah. Good morning.”

    “Hwaaaah?! T-T-Taekyung Oppa?!”

“Don’t feel pressured for no reason, you can just take your time doing your business. Since this is our house anyway, you don’t really need to worry about your sister…”

“Waaah! Ah, no! I didn’t say anything just now…!”

I had only told her she didn’t need to feel pressured, but instead, Jin-ah went into the master bedroom with a loud commotion. As I watched Jin-ah’s retreating back, Han Min-ah sent me a strange look this time.

“You didn’t have to tease her that much, you jerk.”

    “Huh? Tease who?”

“…Your lack of awareness makes me even more annoyed.”

Anyway, Han Min-ah, who had said she was in a hurry to use the restroom, immediately went into the bathroom after saying that to me. I also naturally slipped inside the bathroom right behind her to take care of my business.

“What the, why are you following me in?”

“I need to use it too.”

“…I was waiting first. Are you pulling rank just because you’re the homeowner?”

“It’s fine. I’m just going to pee and leave anyway.”

    “…What difference does that make?”

“If you sit down on the toilet with your legs spread, I can pee through the gap, and we can solve it all at once. It’s what you call ‘fusion pee’…”

“Get out!! Get out, you crazy bastard!!”

    “Ah, Aah! Ack!!”

Han Min-ah, who suddenly blushed and chased me out even while listening to my logical explanation. I had no choice but to be kicked out, pushed by her violence. I had no choice but to wait for her to come out in front of the bathroom door, which slammed shut with a ‘Kkang!’ sound.

“Just because I made a joke, why are you hitting me so hard, honestly…”

Her rutting season is already over, so why is her personality still so sensitive?

“…This is going to be chaotic every morning for quite a while.”

After barely finishing the morning preparations for going out, which had passed like a brief commotion. In front of the crowded entrance area for people getting ready to leave, Min-ah, her three sisters, and I finished getting ready to go out together. We expressed our thanks to Eunbyul, who had prepared breakfast and washed the dishes for the five of us, including myself.

    “We’re leaving now, Eunbyul.”

    “We’re leaving, Eunbyul Unnie!”

    “I’m leaving now, Eunbyul Unnie.”

“Please return safely, Master. And everyone else too.”

“I’m sorry for making us freeloaders impose on you and have you prepare our breakfast, Eunbyul-ssi. And cleaning up and washing the dishes too….”

“No, no. It’s my natural duty as a maid. Since it’s something I’ve always done, you don’t need to worry, Min-ah-nim.”

Of course, although she answered like that, she must have actually found it somewhat more troublesome. With the meal portions increasing from two to five people, the workload naturally had to more than double. Han Min-ah, who had raised her sisters in many ways for a long time, would likely grasp Eunbyul’s hardship. In fact, she had shown signs of wanting to help her this morning.

Of course, this morning, while Han Min-ah was wrestling with her sisters in front of the bathroom, Eunbyul had already finished preparing the meal, so there was nothing for her to help with. She backed down without much protest when Eunbyul said she’d handle the dishes herself, so Min-ah should focus on getting ready. It seemed quite awkward for Han Min-ah, being unable to do anything despite living here for free, and she kept glancing away with an uneasy expression throughout the meal, which was strangely cute.

‘Maybe it would be good to start sharing the workload from this evening so she can help out too.’

It wasn’t that I wanted to see Han Min-ah freeloading without helping with chores at all. It was simply about creating a give-and-take situation for her, as she doesn’t like receiving or giving things for free. Having watched and observed Min-ah closely for a long time, I pride myself on knowing her personality well. If things continued like this, she would soon be crushed by the burden and show signs of anxiety.

‘Eunbyul might also find it difficult to handle the sudden increase in chores.’

It was hard to imagine a professional maid like her getting exhausted from chores, but people like Eunbyul tend to ignore accumulated fatigue and could collapse suddenly. For the sake of both of them, I would need to mediate between them to some extent regarding chores and other matters. Since neither of them seems to have any particular weaknesses in areas like cooking or cleaning, I probably don’t need to worry about that.

    “Master, I have one question.”

    “Yes?”

“Regarding Min-ah-nim and her sisters’ belongings, when are they expected to arrive today? If possible, could you please let me know the timeframe?”

    “…What?”

What’s this talk about moving belongings all of a sudden? I clearly remember organizing Min-ah’s belongings together with Eunbyul yesterday. To Eunbyul’s out-of-the-blue question, I tilted my head and asked her back.

“We finished organizing all the belongings yesterday. Wardrobes and storage cabinets were put in the master bedroom, and the spare washing machine and mini-fridge were newly installed in the utility room and kitchen, respectively.”

“Yes. You must have moved all the items that could fit into your subspace pocket, so I am asking about when the other furniture will arrive.”

    “…Other furniture?”

“Computers, televisions, dishwashers, regular refrigerators, extra storage cabinets and wardrobes, and other essential furniture and appliances haven’t been moved yet, have they? I am asking about when such furniture will arrive at your house….”

    “…That was everything yesterday, Eunbyul-ssi.”

    “What?”

“Taekyung moved everything that was moved. Things like the TV and dishwasher weren’t originally in our house….”

    “……”

    “……”

An awkward silence followed Han Min-ah’s somewhat bitter self-confession. Then, Eunbyul, immediately realizing her mistake, prostrated herself on the floor, bowing her head deeply.

“I-I’m sorry, Min-ah-nim! T-to make such a rude mistake again, following yesterday!”

“N-no! It’s just that we’re particularly unusual! Normally, a typical house has TVs and multiple storage cabinets!”

“I’m sorry! I don’t know how I can possibly apologize for my rude and shameless words….”

“It’s f-fine, please lift your head, Eunbyul-ssi! I didn’t feel you were being rude, and I d-don’t really need an apology!”

“As expected, this apology isn’t enough for you. Unless I show proper sincerity…”

“Hey, hey! Sung Taekyung! Stop Eunbyul-ssi!”

Eunbyul, who had committed a faux pas this morning just like yesterday by not understanding common sense, and Han Min-ah, who felt burdened trying to stop her apologies. Perhaps because the two of them came from completely opposite living environments, their clashing in this way was a strangely amusing spectacle. It seemed like it would take a little more time for the two of them to properly get along.
