Chapter 5: Sister – 1 week ago
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 5: Sister
“Big Sis!! I’m thinking of trying to be a streamer! Help me out!!!”
“W-w-what?! You’re going to work?!”
Surprised by her younger sibling’s words, Seon-yeong looked at them once more.
To be honest, she had thought that since they could now live comfortably for the rest of their lives, they would just spend their days playing and eating without doing any work…
But to say they wanted to work? For her, it was an utterly astonishing turn of events.
“Well… you might think that, but since I’ve changed like this, I’m trying to live a new life now.”
I muttered that, feeling hurt anew by my sister’s reaction.
First, I wanted to become a streamer to earn more points and learn more skills.
Also, seeing people who stream seemed very fun, so I wanted to try it.
And if I used my skills, I thought I could create very entertaining content, so it seemed like it would be a really fun thing to do.
So I had said it because I genuinely wanted to try streaming, but to get that kind of reaction…
While thinking ‘It hurts a little…’, I also thought, ‘Well, considering how I’ve been until now, it makes sense.’
“R-right… You really are my sibling, aren’t you?”
“I told you I am! No, I guess it’s a reasonable reaction, but… honestly, I’m doing this more because it seems fun rather than thinking of it as work… I’m being serious, you know.”
“Fun, huh…”
She certainly nodded.
Seeing what streamers do, it does look fun.
Of course, it would never be fun when you’re a small-time streamer.
‘But… will this kid really remain a small-timer?’
The rarity of being an Awakener, with fewer than 30 in Korea.
That absurd beauty.
The easygoing personality that came from having been a man.
Well, femininity might be a bit lacking, but if what this kid said earlier is true, that it can be registered as a skill and learned, then wouldn’t it be fine to make them learn that too?
She instantly began to genuinely assess her sibling’s marketability.
Whether this kid was truly marketable to viewers or not…
And the result was: definitely marketable!
With just that appearance, she was confident they could outcompete all other major streamers.
But what if the rarity of being an Awakener was added, and the Awakener’s abilities were even all-purpose?
The possibilities were truly endless!!
Her eyes began to spin rapidly.
She couldn’t even grasp how successful her sibling would become if they started working as a streamer and Youtuber!
They were literally a blue-chip stock!!!
‘This…!! I have to seize this!!!’
She had never imagined that a day would come when she would benefit from her sibling, but at this moment, Seon-yeong instinctively knew.
That she had to ride the sibling coin right now!!
Now was the lowest point!! This had to happen!!!
Seon-yeong’s movements, thinking this, were truly lightning-fast.
Grab!!! She instantly grabbed her sibling’s hand and spoke!!
“You’re really, really, really going to challenge yourself to be a proper streamer, right!? No giving up halfway!?”
“Huh?! Uh, maybe…?”
“Speak clearly!!”
“O-okay! I won’t give up! Is that good enough?!”
“Good!!! Then I’ll become your manager!!!”
“Oh!! Really?!”
I couldn’t help but brighten up at my sister’s words, even though I hadn’t even asked.
As her sibling, I knew well how hard she had worked and how amazing her skills were.
I had always thought my sister would succeed no matter what, but for her to become my manager…!!
Since she was family, it was comfortable, I could trust her with money matters, and she was practically the best manager for me.
Watching her sibling, Seon-yeong clenched her fist, then began to speak rapidly.
“If that’s the case!! Let’s prepare right away!! First, we need to decide on a proper place to live! We have to choose a place with a setup suitable for broadcasting!! I’ll move out of my place too, so let’s start by using the Awakener support funds you received to buy a proper officetel!”
“Uh… is… is it going to be that extensive?”
I had initially planned to just start simply in a studio apartment.
When I said that, my sister’s eyes lit up, and she started speaking rapidly, even forgetting that Mom and Dad were nearby.
“What are you talking about!? Are you underestimating the streaming world, thinking everything will be fine just with your looks?! Of course, with your current appearance, it might work out to some extent, but your potential will definitely be limited! You need to prepare properly, get clean broadcasting equipment and a room ready before you start working! How much of a red ocean is this field these days!!”
“O-okay, okay… I’ll prepare.”
“I’ll find a good three-room place, so send the money first! I’ll also select all top-tier equipment and set up all the programs!”
“Got it.”
“And you mentioned skills, right?! If you’re talking about ‘that game’, you mean that text-based game you played, correct? You definitely said you could freely register game settings to create any skill, is that true!?”
“Uh? Yeah, yeah.”
“And learning skills that can be used in reality means creating those skill settings?”
“Right?”
“Good! Then, all the skills I tell you, create them as settings and level them up to max!”
My sister spoke rapidly like that, adding various settings to create what she called “talent settings” to make me a perfect broadcaster.
I was dumbfounded, then quickly grabbed a notebook and pen nearby and started jotting down my sister’s words…
Watching the two, both parents quietly got up from their seats and eventually left the living room.
“Oh my, hohoho, I never imagined our daughter and daughter would work together.”
“Hmm… good news.”
“Isn’t it?”
Kyung-soo, feeling pleased that his good-for-nothing son seemed to be coming to his senses and his daughter was showing such enthusiasm, mumbled that.
Mi-kyung, simply smiling contentedly at her husband’s appearance, began to peel and serve fruit so the two could talk to each other.
****
“Ugh…”
I couldn’t help but stick out my tongue in exasperation as I looked through all the skill lists my sister had told me about.
“But Sis, do I really have to include feminine things? I was planning on just revealing that I was originally a guy anyway.”
“Revealing it is fine. Since you’re already a beautiful woman, most people will just accept what they see, even if it might be a little awkward.
And it’s much better to reveal something like this early on to avoid controversy later.
When you become famous, many people will gossip behind your back, so this way is much better.
However, acting too masculine with that kind of appearance can seriously detract from your charm.”
“Is that so…?”
“It’s good to have some masculinity, but you must also clearly show feminine aspects intermittently to appear even more attractive to men! Understand?!”
“I get it…”
I nodded, as if resigned.
That’s because among the skills my sister mentioned were things like feminine handwriting, feminine fashion sense, and feminine gestures.
Having to personally acquire such things felt like it would give me hives, but honestly, I couldn’t help but agree with my sister’s words.
If I acted like an absolute man with this appearance, it would probably feel more jarring than easygoing.
After all, it was such a mysterious, elegant, and ethereal appearance.
“Should I just go all-in on a concept?”
“You can figure that out yourself.”
“Hmm… okay, I’ll think about this.
Honestly, I also think I need to change myself.”
There were still quite a lot of points left.
After awakening, I had basically created skill settings that could be used in reality for three days, but I had left them alone because I couldn’t figure out what to add next.
What I had added were things like these:
Thought Acceleration.
Perfect Memory.
Parallel Processing.
Body Control.
Reflexes.
Motor Skills.
Healthy Constitution.
Super Intuition. — talent-based skills like those.
I hadn’t actually acquired any practical skills or anything like that yet, so I had plenty, plenty of points.
Using those, I would have more than enough points to acquire the skills my sister mentioned.
With the remaining points… well, I could learn skills necessary for creating content.
Thinking that, I deeply pondered how to structure the skill settings, then opened my smartphone and immediately entered my linked character settings window.
Tatata-tat!! Watching her sibling doing something on their smartphone like that, Seong-yeon trusted that her sibling would handle the skill-related matters themselves, and to resolve the external aspects, she immediately picked up her own smartphone and began searching for officetels first.
A place with three rooms that could be renovated, and with good soundproofing…
Besides that, she started looking into broadcasting equipment one by one, and thus the living room became heated with the enthusiasm of the two women.
