Pitter- Patter-

I looked at the Demonic Sword in shock as dust fell down.

    Zaaap-!

Lightning bolts struck as the Demonic Sword glared at the wall with a fierce expression.

Her Lightning Qi felt threatening. It didn’t cause any harm from this distance, but I was clearly able to feel the difference in our levels.

    Woong-!

Pillars that supported the room started to shake.

It was because of the Demonic Sword’s presence.

    “Ughhh.”

    “Cough…”

    “Oughhh.”

People in the room started to fall to their knees. Despite lasting longer, the members of the Black Flame Army couldn’t even endure her pressure.

I observed the Demonic Sword while I managed to endure.

    Huh? What’s up with her?

    I couldn’t understand.

Not only did she suddenly attack the Sword Demon, but she seemed infuriated.

    What was wrong with her?

As I remained shocked by the Demonic Sword’s behavior,

    Slam-!

I heard an explosive sound from where the Sword Demon was sent flying to.

I also felt an unbelievable amount of killing intent from that direction.

    You damned bitch-!!

Along with a ferocious roar, something charged this way through the dust of dirt.

It was the Sword Qi that was made with Demonic Qi.

    Swish-!

    Claaang-!

Shortly after, the Demonic Sword swung her sword and hit the Qi that flew at her. When they clashed, an impactful sound echoed in the room.

My body was slightly pushed back because of the explosive wave of Demonic Qi that was unleashed from the impact. Their power was unbelievable.

I managed to endure the impact.

As I tried to calm myself down, I started to see a person appear from far away with an infuriated expression. It was the Sword Demon.

    Crack-!

The Sword Demon showed clear signs of anger while grinding his teeth.

His Demonic Qi and Combat Qi rose all the way to the ceiling which was a proof of it.

“You darned bitch, so you really want to die huh.”

    “…”

The Demonic Sword gave no response despite the Sword Demon talking to her angrily.

Judging by her reaction, it seemed like she didn’t want to exchange any words with him.

“Damned bitch. Do you think you are all that just because you have the Captain by your side?”

    Hmm.

I started to wonder in my mind as I heard the Sword Demon mocking her. It was a pretty understandable question I had.

Why is that bastard acting up all of a sudden?

I couldn’t understand why the Sword Demon was trying so hard to piss off the Demonic Sword.

Objectively speaking, the Sword Demon wasn’t a weak martial artist at all considering he was one of the Captains of the Heavenly Demon’s armies, but he lacked when compared to the Demonic Sword.

It has been ever since the past, but the Sword Demon especially despised the Demonic Sword.

But the same goes for the Demonic Sword.

I wondered if there was anyone that actually liked the Sword Demon besides the Ghostly Sword Army, but it was true that the two didn’t have a good relationship.

“You must not know your place because of how you got that position.”

    “…”

    Woong.

The Demonic Sword reacted after hearing the Sword Demon.

    Her sword started to resonate.

The Sword Demon grinned after seeing the sight.

“Yes, I shall defeat you here and take over your position.”

    Position?

Was the Sword Demon referring to the Vice Captain of the Black Flame Army?

    The bastard wanted that position?

Now that I think about it, I think he did.

I remember him complaining to me a few times about how a female was a Vice Captain of my army, and why he had the responsibility of leading the Ghostly Sword Army.

I beat him up every time because it annoyed me…

Is that why he hates her so much?

I didn’t know at the time because of my lack of care for him, but that was certainly possible.

A reason I didn’t make him the Vice Captain, huh.

It wouldn’t have been a problem for the Demonic Sword to become the Captain of the Ghostly Sword Army, and it also wouldn’t have been a problem for the Sword Demon to become the Vice Captain of the Black Flame Army.

Both of them were strong enough martial artists that the change wouldn’t cause any problems.

However, the reason I made the Demonic Sword the Vice Captain was pretty simple.

    She’s stronger.

The Demonic Sword was stronger. That was it.

It would’ve been easier for me to control the Sword Demon, but I only focused on strength.

However, the Sword Demon wasn’t happy about it, judging by this situation.

    Clack.

The Sword Demon held his sword properly.

    Then…

    Swish-!

    “Ugh!?”

The Demonic Sword grabbed the back of my collar and threw me off to the side.

I wondered why she suddenly did that,

    Swoosh-!

But it was because the Sword Demon’s sword was aimed at me. I opened my eyes widely in shock after seeing the sight.

    That son of a bitch?

It looked like the Sword Demon was aiming at the Demonic Sword, but it seemed like he planned to get rid of me first.

However, I failed to realize that because of their speed.

The Sword Demon showed a disappointed expression when the Demonic Sword stopped his attack.

Right after, lightning bolts started to pour out from the Demonic Sword’s blade.

    Zaaap-!

This wasn’t a small room, but it was way too small an arena for these two martial artists to fight in.

The Demonic Sword’s Lightning Qi poured out at a crazy rate.

I gasped inside at the sight.

Her Lightning Qi separated into thousands of bolts, and it wrapped around the whole surroundings.

But it’s not causing any damage to the environment.

Shockingly, it caused no harm to the wall nor the members of the Black Flame Army.

Despite being in the middle of a battle, she was perfectly controlling all of that Lightning Qi.

    “Ugh… Aghhh!”

    “C-Captain… please save us…! Agghhh!”

The Black Flame Army was safe, but that wasn’t the case for the Ghostly Sword Army.

The Demonic Sword showed no care for those bastards as she poured her Lightning Qi.

The Sword Demon ignored them as he put on an unpleasant expression.

He only stared at the Demonic Sword.

    Rumble-!

Dense Demonic Qi started to unleash from the Sword Demon’s blade. Shortly after, it wrapped around his body.

Lightning Qi was fierce and powerful, but it wasn’t strong enough to break through the Sword Demon’s powerful Demonic Qi.

It showed that he wasn’t a weak martial artist.

The Sword Demon started to move.

    Kwak-!

His leaping movement seemed light, but his foot dug and shook the ground.

    He was fast.

I can’t keep up with him.

    Clang-!

He had already got up close to the Demonic Sword, and she clashed her sword against the Sword Demon’s blade.

I became certain as I watched their fight.

    I won’t last.

If I fought any one of them at my current level, I wouldn’t last a second.

    Slam-! Slam, Slam-!

Lightning and violent swords clashed with each other, causing an impactful sound to echo.

It almost sounded as if their swords were roaring at each other.

It was hard to believe that these explosive impacts came from those thin blades.

    Creak.

    “…!”

I felt my body being pushed back due to the impact from their swords.

Not only was I unable to keep up with their movements, but I was being pushed back when I wasn’t even near them.

I was only barely able to see sparks that formed from their blades clashing, and traces of their swords that were left in the air.

These traces seemed unbelievably beautiful and flashy.

It also showed just how many times their swords were swung in this short moment.

    Zaaap-!

Thunderbolts rained down from the ceiling.

    Swish-! Slam-!

A pillar was cut down by a sudden sword wave.

    Isn’t this dangerous?

I started to look around after seeing that unfold.

No matter how much I looked at it, it was obvious that I was in an extremely dangerous situation. It wouldn’t have been strange for the building to collapse at this rate, and everyone inside could even end up dying.

    What do I do?

I didn’t care if any of these bastards died, but I didn’t want to.

As I started to think about how I could stop those two maniacs,

    Clang-!

Sparks formed in the air once more, and the figures of the two appeared.

I looked at the situation, wondering if their fight had already come to an end,

    “…!”

But I couldn’t help but gasp at the sight I saw.

Unlike how I expected the Sword Demon to lose, he seemed perfectly fine like before.

Instead, the Demonic Sword, which I thought would come out fine,

    She injured her arm…?

I saw blood leaking from her hand that was holding her sword.

    What was going on?

The Demonic Sword slightly frowned, realizing her situation.

It seemed like the cut was pretty deep, judging by how much blood came out.

    Chuckle.

The Sword Demon started to chuckle at her sight.

    “It’s as I expected.”

As if he were certain about something, the Sword Demon spoke with a grin.

    Then…

    Swish.

    Hmm?

The bastard pointed his sword towards me, and continued to speak to the Demonic Sword.

    You bitch.

You must care about that bastard a lot.

    What?

I wondered what the Sword Demon was talking about…

    “…”

But the Demonic Sword didn’t deny his words.

“He must be rather important, for you to even give up one of your arms.”

    “…!”

I felt like I understood why the situation became this way after hearing the Sword Demon.

    That bastard.

It seemed like the Sword Demon constantly aimed at me during their battle, and the Demonic Sword was injured from the process, trying to prevent all of its attacks from reaching me.

If that wasn’t what happened, the Demonic Sword wouldn’t have let the Sword Demon land an attack on her.

“I should’ve known, considering how you two were always together… You bitch, what is this?”

    “…”

“Is it a hidden son of yours? That doesn’t seem likely, judging by your ages.”

    Swish, Swish-!

The Sword Demon spoke in an amused tone as he swung his sword.

Yet, his killing intent became denser.

His Demonic Qi and killing intent were starting to fill up the whole headquarters.

“I suppose it doesn’t matter what the answer is. I learned that you have a weakness now.”

    Rumble-!

The Sword Demon’s purple eyes suddenly became more vibrant, and black smoke started to leak from his mouth.

I started to sweat when I saw the smoke.

That was the power only a few Demonic Humans were able to use after they reached a certain level.

This meant that the Sword Demon planned to kill the Demonic Sword.

The Demonic Sword had a slight frown on her face, knowing that.

However, I became curious as I watched the sight.

    Why.

Why isn’t the Demonic Sword using her Thunder Fang…?

The Thunder Fang was one of the five treasure swords of the Central Plain, and her beloved companion.

The Demonic Sword was already incredibly strong by herself, but the Thunder Fang in her hand turned her into a different person.

She would’ve been easily able to win against the Sword Demon if she had used the Thunder Fang from the beginning.

The Demonic Sword knew that better than anyone, yet she wasn’t using the Thunder Fang, which got me confused.

Even now, she only charged more of her Lightning Qi, and she didn’t swap her weapon.

    Should I intervene?

I constantly thought to myself with my fist clenched.

    The situation was twisted.

I took a glance at the Demonic Sword.

It wasn’t only the Thunder Fang that made me confused.

    Why me?

The situation only got weirder as time went on. Whether it was when the Sword Demon did a surprise attack on me or when the Demonic Sword became infuriated when he touched me, it felt as if she was covering for me the whole time.

    …Perhaps.

    She realized my true identity?

    No, that’s not possible.

I erased that thought right away. It was too absurd for that to be the case.

My face was completely different, and I even restricted myself from using Destructive Flame Art.

There was no way that the Demonic Sword would recognize who I was, and it would even be hard for me to believe that she was suspecting it.

    But then why?

I didn’t know. That was why I was so confused right now.

Why was she doing all of this for me?

    As I continued to wonder,

    “Well then.”

The Sword Demon nodded his head, preparing to move again.

“Let us see the end of this.”

I tried to charge my Qi after hearing his voice filled with killing intent.

I wasn’t in a situation where I could afford to hide my flames any longer.

The chance of my attack landing on him was very slim, even if I used my flames, and I couldn’t let the Demonic Sword die like this.

    Damn it.

The Sword Demon charged towards the Demonic Sword once again.

Right as I was about to explode my Qi at the perfect timing,

    “I’ll cut you in half-!”

    Slaaam-!

The Sword Demon’s head was nailed to a wall after a monstrous sound exploded.

    “What…?”

It was a completely different sound compared to when the Demonic Sword threw him before.

    Craaaack-!!!

A huge crack was made in the wall.

    That wasn’t the only thing.

The Sword Demon’s killing intent that took over the room, started to disappear as if it was being ripped apart by something.

    Crack… Patter.

I hid my shock after seeing what happened. However, I became certain about one thing.

No… That’s not being ripped apart.

I didn’t know about others, but I definitely knew what was happening.

It wasn’t that his killing intent was being ripped apart, it was burning away in flames.

Black flames started to engulf the Sword Demon’s territory he created.

    Ring-

    “…!”

I turned my head around as my ears rang, and I saw the Demonic Sword’s blade fall to the ground after it had been shattered.

    Someone had broken her sword.

As I looked at her broken blade on the floor.

    “I’ll first ask a question.”

I started to hear a heavy, deep-pitched voice.

I turned towards the voice, and I started to feel an ominous aura from that direction. It felt so nasty it couldn’t even compare to the Sword Demon’s killing intent.

I didn’t even see him appear, but the owner of this voice was already grabbing the Sword Demon by his face, slamming him against the wall.

Flames that leaked from the man’s feet, lingered around him as if they could engulf the whole area at any moment.

The air started to calm down.

Heat started to fill the room.

Putting aside the Sword Demon, who was barely conscious in his hand, the man’s purple pupils aimed in my direction.

I flinched when his gaze landed on me.

“What do you think you are doing?”

    Along with the man’s voice,

    Blaaaze-!

Black flames started to pour out from his body, filling the whole room.
