Chapter 428: It Has Been a While (3)
by Afuhfuihgs
The first thing I did was speak out of anger after arriving in my assigned room.
“Ugh, why am I in the same building as you?”
I spoke as I unpacked my things.
Behind me stood a tall young man who was unpacking with me, and it was none other than Woo Hyuk.
I was in the same room as him.
“Haha, what can we do if they don’t have that many rooms?”
“Dammit all.”
Because Tang Clan lacked rooms for guests, I was put in the same room as Woo Hyuk.
What kind of nonsense was that when we were in a huge clan like Tang Clan?
At first, I thought they were doing this on purpose because they didn’t want to give the guests their rooms, but I couldn’t do anything when I saw the expressions of the servants and Tang Soyeol telling me how sorry she was.
Cheol Jiseon was with us too by the way.
He was probably unpacking in a smaller room next to us. When I continued to speak in an annoyed tone, Woo Hyuk spoke with a smirk.
“Jeez, I get that you aren’t with your wife, but try to bear with me.”
“What the hell are you talking about? Who’s my wife?”
“I’m not sure. You have so many girls I find it difficult to- “
Pow-!
“Agh!”
Woo Hyuk kept his nonsense, so I hit him behind his head and he screamed after.
“You are asking to be punished.”
I barely skimmed his head, but Woo Hyuk rolled on the floor in pain. I put him aside and went back to unpacking.
I only had one thought in mind right now.
I had to sleep after I was done unpacking.
That was the only thing I wanted to do.
I could have used my Qi to blow away my exhaustion, but it was wise to take a proper rest like this once in a while.
As I was about to finish, I spoke to Woo Hyuk who was still on the floor.
“They said that the banquet is around night time. Are you going out before that?”
“Go? Where?”
As I expected, he was overreacting as he stopped rolling on the floor right after I asked him a question.
Then, I added on.
“You said your master is here.”
“Oh…”
Woo Hyuk’s expression stiffened when I mentioned the Monster of Wudang.
It was refreshing to see that bastard make such an expression.
“It should be fine even if I… go a bit later.”
Why was he being so hesitant when he came here to meet him?
He seemed like he didn’t want to go. It made me wonder what kind of person his master was considering Woo Hyuk showed such a reaction.
I didn’t know since I never met the Monster of Wudang.
I guess I’ll know once I meet him.
I had to go see him anyway for the Thunder Fang.
I was curious why a martial artist from the Wudang Sect had possession of the Namgung Clan’s treasure.
My reason for wanting to meet him was simple.
I wanted to get the Thunder Fang and give it to Namgung Bi-ah.
In my past life, The Demonic Sword was already an unbelievable martial artist, but she became a monster once she held the Thunder Fang in her hand.
It was the Thunder Fang that worked best with Lightning Qi after all.
I didn’t know if the Monster of Wudang would give it to me if I asked… and if he didn’t,
It’s a problem for future me.
I did have one plan in mind, so I decided to think about it when I actually met him.
As I was organizing my thoughts, Woo Hyuk asked me a question.
“What are you going to do until the banquet?”
Why did he bother asking such a question? It’s obvious that I’ll…
“Rest.”
“Rest…? You?”
Woo Hyuk showed a shocked expression as if he couldn’t believe me.”
“…What’s with that reaction? Do you have a knack for picking on someone wanting to rest?”
“I also have a snack.”
“Do you want to die?”
I almost developed neck pain from his lame joke that not even the First Elder would make.
Haha, this bastard.
He should’ve told me earlier if he wanted to be folded in half.
As I started to stretch my arm, Woo Hyuk hurriedly spoke again.
“I just didn’t think the word ‘rest’ was ever in your dictionary.”
“What are you talking about? Why would you think that?”
Was there anyone who loved lying down lazily more than me?
When I spoke in a speechless tone, Woo Hyuk spoke with a small laughter.
“You train all day and go around places if you aren’t doing that. I literally never saw you rest at all.”
“…”
Now that I think about it, Woo Hyuk might have been right.
I was always busy training or getting things done, and if I didn’t do that, I went out to hunt Demons to absorb their energy.
Huh, he’s right.
Now that I think about it, I haven’t even rested for a single day.
It wasn’t strange for Woo Hyuk to think that way.
I was never the type to be so hard-working.
How did I become like this?
“I don’t know, but I’m going to be resting today.”
Right as I was about to lay my blanket down in order to die down, I felt a presence outside.
-Young Master Gu!
“…”
It was Tang Soyeol’s voice. Why did she suddenly come here?
I had a bad feeling.
-Are you inside?
Her presence got closer, so I opened the door and slightly poked my head out.
“Ah!”
Tang Soyeol came over with a bright smile after seeing me.
“Why are you…”
When I asked her nervously, she spoke to me in a cheerful tone.
“My father is looking for you! He said there’s something he needs to tell you about!”
“…”
I brushed my face after hearing her.
I was just about to rest… but of course, the world wasn’t going to let me.
This shitty world.
I headed to the Poison King after hearing Tang Soyeol.
I honestly didn’t want to go, but something must have happened if he called me like this.
At least it better be important.
I wasn’t going to hold back my anger if it wasn’t anything urgent.
I didn’t care if this was Tang Clan or not.
I was currently walking in the clan without permission, but no one stopped me as I was walking next to the blood relative of the clan.
“Where are we going?’
I asked Tang Soyeol.
We weren’t going to the Lord’s room right now.
“Ah, father is currently in a guest house.”
“A guest?”
Guest huh? I wondered who it was.
Perhaps it was someone from the Moyong Clan?
Tang Soyeol spoke again to answer my thoughts.
“Ah, some guests came to our clan a few days before we arrived.”
“Huh?”
A few days before?
Oh?
Perhaps that was why they ran out of guest rooms?
Now I was able to understand why I had to share a room with others.
It seemed like they ran out of rooms due to unexpected guests.
It was still strange though, as we were blood relatives from noble clans.
Yet, we were put into a single room and were made to share it with others which made me wonder if the guests that arrived before us were that important.
It was a good thing that none of us cared that much. Things might have been different if we had anyone with a nasty personality.
Of course, there wasn’t going to be anyone complaining to a noble clan like the Tang Clan though.
But who is it I wonder?
Plus, the guest was accepted when the Poison King wasn’t here.
It showed just how important the guest was.
As I arrived, I saw Poison King standing outside.
I bowed my head and showed respect.
“I heard you called me.”
The Poison King smiled lightly after seeing me.
“I’m sorry to call you like this even though you should be relaxing.”
“…It’s no problem.”
Why did you call me here knowing that?
I wanted to say those words, but I was barely able to hold back.
I already struggled with holding back my anger, but being tired only made it worse.
It especially felt worse recently.
I suppressed my inner thoughts and asked the Poison King.
“Why were you looking for me?”
I wondered how urgent this matter was for him to call me so quickly.
The Poison King spoke with an awkward expression noticing my displeased expression.
“A guest of ours… asked us to see you which is why I called you here.”
“Huh?”
I had to frown after hearing the Poison King.
A guest was looking for me?
…A Tang Clan’s guest was?
I couldn’t help but become puzzled. Why was their guest looking for me?
“Who is the guest if I may ask?”
“Follow me first.”
The Poison King turned around and headed inside after giving that response.
He went inside without giving me an explanation…
I too followed him with a massive frown on my face.
If this wasn’t anything that important, there was a chance that I was going to explode.
Any more than this was over my limit.
Tang Soyeol followed after me, being quiet after noticing my expression.
The guest house was extremely big.
It was twice as big as the building I stayed in.
It was probably comparable in size to the Lord’s room. I thought to myself after seeing the building.
How important is the guest for them to give them such a building?
It was an impressive building just looking at it from the outside.
I knew immediately that this building was only used for the most important guests.
Yet a guest like that was looking for me?
I couldn’t think of anyone in mind.
When I continued to follow the Poison King, I saw a small garden inside as well.
They must have spent a ton of money on this building.
After walking for a long time, the Poison King stopped in front of a room. Then, he spoke towards the other side of the door.
“Elder, we brought Young Expert Gu.”
Elder…?
I opened my eyes widely after hearing the Poison King.
It was someone even the Lord of the Four Noble Clans showed such respect to.
After he finished talking, the Poison King moved slightly aside and looked at me.
“…”
He was signaling me to head inside.
With that look, I nervously walked towards the room.
When Tang Soyeol was about to follow after me, the Poison King suddenly gestured with his hand signaling her not to go in with me.
I carefully went in and looked inside.
Just who is the guest for him to…
“Huh?”
As soon as I saw the person sipping tea inside, a question mark formed on top of my head.
The first thing I saw was a boy who had his face hidden due to his long hair blocking it.
The boy slightly bowed his head after seeing me.
It was a familiar face.
“You…”
The boy was none other than Zhuge Hyuk who would become the brain of the Demonic Cult one day.
I wondered why Zhuge Hyuk was here, but there was something more important.
If he’s here, does that mean…?
I slightly turned my head and looked at the person sitting across Zhuge Hyuk.
The old man’s gaze was already on me.
He was a white-haired old man with wrinkles that showed his old age and he had a skinny body that revealed his bones.
He seemed to be a weak old man, but there wasn’t anyone who didn’t know who this person was in the Central Plains.
“It has been a while.”
He had a sharp high-pitched voice.
Unlike his considerate personality, he still had a cold sharp gaze.
“Elder…?”
“Hmph.”
He was known to heal anyone as long as they were still breathing.
Many people created a title for him out of respect because of his great medical skills.
“You must have rolled around a lot ever since we last met. I could tell just by looking at your exhausted look.”
It was the Immortal Healer.
