Chapter 386: Have You Eaten Yet (1)

Have You Eaten Yet (1)
Thunder Fang, one of the greatest swords in the world, as well as one of the most famous and sought-after treasures.
It only made sense, as it was used by none other than the hero of the Namgung Clan, Namgung Myung, also known as the Thunder Sword who saved the world from a calamity.
Moreover, the Thunder Fang meant a lot to me as well.
It was the weapon the Demonic Sword, Namgung Bi-ah, used after all.
Because of that, I was able to get a close-up look of Thunder Fang, though I never got to actually hold it since the Demonic Sword didn’t let me.
Its blade was so transparent that it almost seemed invisible, but it was also very sturdy and didn’t seem like it would ever break.
Not only that, there was another clear difference this sword had that separated it from other swords.
Though I won’t mention it now since it’s not that important.
The important part was that the sword and, in a way, the symbol of the Namgung Clan, was in possession of a martial artist from the Wudang Sect.
The Monster of Wudang, Gyudo.
He was the current wielder of the Namgung Clan’s treasure, Thunder Fang.
Like Woo Hyuk said, he was indeed famous.
He is a Taoist who originally stayed in the main mountain of Wudang, but for some reason, he is said to now be wandering around the Central Plains.
He was also well-known for being a virtuous man. When Demons ambushed a town after a Gate had appeared, it was said that the Monster of Wudang, who just happened to be present in the area at the time, dealt with all of the Demons, saved the villagers and disappeared.
Despite him being a Taoist, he was called a ‘Monster’ because of his strange actions from time to time.
Sometimes, he would talk to himself and get angry.
In addition, he would go to a random merchant and cause a mess, or swing his sword in the air and cut everything in his path.
Because of his incomprehensible actions, people started to call him the Monster of Wudang.
He was definitely a good man judging by the stories about him, but no one wanted him around because of his seemingly random and strange actions.
That’s who Gyudo, the Monster of Wudang, was.
Yet…
He’s the Water Dragon’s master?
I didn’t even know about this in my past life. Not only did Water Dragon never tell me, but this information was never spread in the Central Plains.
“Shoot, I shouldn’t have told you that.”
Seeing my surprised reaction, Woo Hyuk repeatedly sighed as he regretted telling me.
“I’m not exactly proud to have him as my teacher, you know.”
I understood his point.
…Is that why he kept it a secret his whole life? Because he was embarrassed…?
Though I must admit, I would be embarrassed as well.
“But… you’re going to Sichuan to meet someone like him?”
“I have nowhere else to stay anyways. Plus, it would be in my best interests to say that I stayed with my master as an excuse while I was out.”
Fair enough. The Monster of Wudang may have practically left the Wudang Sect, but he was still affiliated with them.
If Woo Hyuk wanted to stay with his master, then it could be considered a valid reason.
“…So you want to go with me to Sichuan since you were already planning on going there as well?”
“That’s right. Doesn’t that sound nice? We are friends after all.”
“Friends? I also have lots of other people I’m traveling with.”
I hadn’t confirmed this with them yet, but I had made plans to travel to Sichuan with a few other people.
I had already spoken to the Dishonored Venerable about it and he said he would come as well since he already had business there.
Pe Woocheol said he wanted to bring me to his clan, so I was going to make a short visit on the way.
Lastly, Tang Soyeol was from the Tang Clan, the clan that ruled over Sichuan.
If she accompanies me on my trip…
Wait, does that mean the Poison King would come as well…?
Just the thought made me shiver, but I had no choice.
Whether it was a coincidence or not, this was the perfect time to go to Sichuan.
The Heavenly Dragon Academy closed due to an unexpected incident, and I was able to graduate faster thanks to it.
The next incident will happen in approximately two to three years from now so I had to get stronger, as strong as I could until that time came.
I managed to reach Fusion Realm and my next priority was…
I need to find the White Demonic Stone.
A Demonic Stone that dropped from a White Demon, the highest rank of all Demons.
I already knew where the stone was located, but I was waiting until I reached the optimal condition for me to actually consume the stone.
In a generation where Blue Demons ranked as the highest, the White Demonic Stone was an extremely valuable item.
Moreover, Demonic Stones that drop from Demons lose their power after some time, but the White Demon Stone was able to maintain its power regardless of time.
I didn’t know the reason why.
The important part was the fact that the White Demonic Stone held an incredible amount of power, power so great that it couldn’t even compare to any other medicines.
As a person who is able to absorb the power from such a stone, this was the greatest medicine in existence of the world.
I may have reached the Fusion Realm, but I was still at a very unstable stage, which gave me even more of a reason to acquire the White Demonic Stone.
That’s why I had to go to Sichuan, since I was given the ideal opportunity to.
With that said, I didn’t care if Woo Hyuk traveled along with me as long as he didn’t cause any trouble.
“You’ll have to get approval though. But I doubt my Lord would let you- “
“Oh, the Lord of the Gu Clan gave me his approval.”
“…What?”
I was dumbfounded after hearing Woo Hyuk’s response.
Father gave his approval?
“When?”
“Hmm? I asked him when you came here after you fainted.”
“…”
After hearing Woo Hyuk, I was able to confirm that my fight against Father yesterday was real.
“He gave you… his approval…?”
“Hmm? Yea.”
“How?”
“What do you mean how? I just asked him since he was going there anyway, and he said I could come…”
Woo Hyuk being able to directly ask him left me speechless, as well as Father easily giving Woo Hyuk his approval only made me more confused.
“It’s fine then, right?”
“…Uh… sure… you do you…”
I had nothing I could say to reject him, so I gave him the okay in the end.
He’ll take care of his own problems if he runs into any.
It works out for me anyway.
I may have complained, but Woo Hyuk’s goal was beneficial for me as well as he was going to go see the Monster of Wudang.
So things are turning out this way huh?
I already had plans to visit the Monster of Wudang anyway.
To be more accurate, I wanted to visit him to see the Thunder Fang.
The Light of Might said this to me in the past.
-Find Namgung Myung.
This meant that Namgung Myung’s soul existed somewhere in this world.
Not only that, I was also able to hear Namgung Myung’s voice back in the Namgung Clan.
This is what he said to me.
Find the Thunder Fang.
He told me to go find his weapon, Thunder Fang.
I didn’t know why, but I at least knew it was related to Elder Shin.
But it’s problematic how I can’t sense any sign of Elder Shin’s presence.
This old man kept disappearing and refused to come back. It made me feel rather frustrated.
Anyway…
Since I had to go find the Thunder Fang anyway, Woo Hyuk visiting the Monster of Wudang was beneficial for me.
I would be able to tackle a lot of my goals during my trip to Sichuan, including locating the Thunder Fang.
After making that calculation, I spoke to Woo Hyuk.
“You can come along, but there is one condition.”
“Condition? What is it?”
I told him the condition I had decided on.
“Introduce me to your master once we arrive in Sichuan.”
“…Huh?”
“If you can do that, then you can come along.”
Woo Hyuk’s expression worsened after hearing my condition.
This was the first time I saw him make that kind of face.
He really seemed like he didn’t want to introduce me, but I wasn’t going to easily back down.
After hesitating for a long time, Woo Hyuk eventually nodded his head.
The deal was made.
After I finished my conversation with Woo Hyuk, I threw him out the window, as I no longer had anything to say to him.
The building seemed to be quite tall, but it didn’t matter since I knew he wouldn’t die from this type of height at his level.
I recalled him yelling in despair, asking me for his clothes right as I threw him outside, but I was sure he would handle it on his own just fine.
This was a new feeling though.
In my past life, I was always infuriated, since I couldn’t do anything about the Water Dragon making fun of me, but now I could deal with him quite easily.
Creak.
Afterwards, I left the room and walked downstairs. I was obviously headed to where my father was.
“Hmm?”
As I went down, I saw Gu Huibi walk up the stairs from a distance.
It seemed like she had just finished her morning training.
She hadn’t been slacking in her training huh.
When I stared at her, wondering if I should greet her, Gu Huibi suddenly started to laugh out loud after seeing my face.
Huh?
“Why are you laughing as soon as you see me? It’s insulting.”
“Ha… Haha… It’s because… Hahaha!”
She even laughed louder than before without being able to hold it in.
“What do you think you are doing?”
“Haha… Oh… dear brother, what’s happened to your face?”
“My face?”
“Your eye… Hehe… did you get beat up by someone?”
I placed my hand on my eye after Gu Huibi’s question.
Then, I felt an aching pain.
Why does this eye hurt so… Oh.
“You got a huge blackeye. It’s rather funny, you know.”
“…”
I wondered what it was at first, but then realized it was the injury I sustained from fighting against Father.
It resulted in an entire blackeye.
It must have been hilarious for Gu Huibi, as she continued to laugh with her hands on her stomach with no signs of stopping.
“Who beat you up? Tell this big sis, I’ll give them a scolding.”
“Our Lord.”
“…”
“Why aren’t you saying anything? You said you’ll scold them, sis.”
Gu Huibi looked away after hearing my response, taking back her words.
I thought about laughing as well, as I found her reaction funny, but I decided to let it slide.
“Anyway… do you know where the Lord is?”
“…Training grounds.”
“The training grounds?”
I assumed he would be there, and it seemed like I was right.
As I walked past Gu Huibi, she suddenly stopped me and spoke.
“Brother.”
“Hmm?”
“Did something happen with you and the Lord?”
“Can you not tell just by looking? Look at my eye.”
“…Not that.”
She was the one who initially made fun of me because of my eye. How absurd.
“Then what?”
“It’s just… The Lord didn’t exactly seem to be in the best mood.”
“What does his mood have to do with me…?”
“Whatever.”
Without giving me a clear answer, Gu Huibi went up the stairs.
I watched her go up in confusion, and continued to make my way over.
My destination was the training ground, a field located behind the inn.
It seemed like they designated it as a training ground because many martial artists stayed in Henan.
There normally would have been other martial artists here too, but since Lady Mi borrowed this whole inn for our family, there weren’t.
Even if there were other martial artists around, most of them probably wouldn’t be able to endure the heat I was currently feeling.
Damn it’s hot.
The heat was so intense that it was hard for me to breathe as soon as I stepped foot into the training ground.
I immediately looked for the person responsible for this heat.
As expected, it was Father.
The heat gradually decreased, as it seemed like he noticed my presence.
His outfit stopped waving alongside his heat, and he turned around and spoke after he retrieved his Qi.
“You woke up- …Ahem.”
“…?”
Father suddenly stopped speaking and kept his mouth shut after he saw my face.
I even saw his eyebrows twitching a little. …This surely wasn’t…
…Is he trying to hold in his laughter?
Even though he was the one responsible for making my eye look like this?
“You woke up.”
“Please stop laughing.”
“…What do you mean?”
He pretended as if he didn’t know what I was talking about, but it was way too late.
