Chapter 37 : Drunken Rambling (2)
by fnovelpia
Hanyul had showered and changed into pajamas.
Pink pajamas that matched a cute bunny headband.
She applied lotion to her face and patted her cheeks with slaps before collapsing onto the bed behind her.
“…Uhaa~”
Hanyul was exhausted.
Like she had just cleared a mid-tier A-rank tower all by herself.
That kind of fatigue pulled her body straight to the bed.
While she was lying on the soft bed and fiddling with her phone.
“Hanyul! Go to sleep now! Mom and Dad are going to bed first, okay?”
“Okay! Goodnight!”
“Right~ And don’t skip school tomorrow like today, got it? You’re gonna miss graduation!”
“Yeah yeah~ Got it~”
Hanyul gave a half-hearted response, then sprawled out on the bed, blankly staring at the ceiling.
“…I should turn off the light, but I don’t even have the strength to get up.”
“So many surprising things happened today.”
Murmuring to herself, Hanyul called upon her mana and, still lying down, flicked the light off with a small spark.
“…Too dark.”
She turned on the round fox-shaped mood light next to her, and a soft glow filled the room.
“The Gumiho unnie’s drunken fit was way worse than I expected…”
“She kept drinking makgeolli like that—no wonder she got wasted.”
Hanyul’s fatigue originated from Yubin.
Yubin, who had been drinking just fine, started slurring her words at some point, and eventually got completely smashed.
“…I don’t even want to remember it.”
An SSS-rank drunken fit—truly a destructive force.
If someone asked if she became more violent, it was actually the opposite.
She kept crying and clinging to people, which was honestly just pitiful.
Especially toward Hanseong—she stuck close to him.
When Hanseong tried to comfort her by patting her back or stroking her hair, she smiled blissfully and wagged her tail, almost like.
“…She was like a dog… it was kind of cute.”
Like a big dog.
One too large to handle.
When she clung to Hanyul, who was physically weaker than Hanseong, it was nothing short of a disaster.
The more Hanyul tried to peel her off, the tighter Yubin clung, whining, “Heuing… don’t gooo…” with all her cutesy charms.
“I thought I was gonna die…”
Hanyul was sure she’d be suffering from brutal muscle soreness tomorrow.
Her body already felt like jelly.
Eventually, Sword Ghost assessed the situation and rushed in to help, but even she was overpowered, so Death Knight and Hwarang were summoned as backup.
They barely managed to calm her down without anyone getting hurt.
Just as Sword Ghost was sweet-talking Yubin to soothe her.
Yubin suddenly clutched her stomach, said she felt nauseous, and vomited all over her own clothes.
“…I never thought I’d live to hear Sword Ghost scream like that.”
Hanyul chuckled to herself.
That supposedly emotionless Sword Ghost screamed in terror, breaking out into a cold sweat—it was a sight to behold.
Begging and nearly in tears, she kept saying, “The floor just got cleaned…” and that pathetic scene was forever etched into Hanyul’s memory.
After that, Death Knight apologized for showing such a disgraceful side of his master.
Not that an apology was necessary, and since Death Knight was a bit scary anyway, Hanyul and Hanseong just awkwardly bowed their heads and said it was okay.
With Death Knight’s guidance, they managed to safely escape the tower.
As soon as they got outside, Chanseok and Hanseong activated their poison resistance, instantly sobering up.
But Hanseong’s face remained red for a while.
“…No way, Master… could it be?”
Hanyul recalled the moment Yubin rubbed herself and her tail against Hanseong, giggling like a fool.
Hanseong had seemed troubled—but even when seeing the beautiful Yuna, he never reacted.
Yet with Yubin, his pupils had visibly shaken.
“…No way, right?”
A monster and a human?
“Ridiculous,” Hanyul chuckled, brushing it off.
“Should I check what happened today before I sleep…?”
Naturally, she opened up the Hunter community.
And right there was a trending post.
“…It’s about the Gumiho unnie?”
“No way, did she stream in that state?!”
Bang!!!
“Ow!!”
Startled, Hanyul jerked her head back—only to smack it against the wall.
“…Did I break it…?”
Because her body was so tough, bits of stone dust fell from the wall.
She hadn’t even hit it that hard, so Hanyul felt slightly wronged.
“Hanyul?! W-What happened? Did the house just shake… Did you hit your head?”
“…Yeah.”
“Fix the wall.”
“…Okay.”
Her mother’s reaction was cold as ice.
Hanyul wondered, Is that really how a mom should react when her daughter slams her head into a wall?
But still, she used restoration magic on the wall.
“…Tap tap.”
“All fixed.”
After confirming the wall was repaired, Hanyul returned to checking the trending post.
“…Today’s legendary Gumiho broadcast…”
“Crying like crazy…”
What in the world did she do on stream?
Though a sense of dread crept over her, curiosity won out, and Hanyul clicked the post.
[Gumiho Broadcast Legend Updated]
[LOL she randomly started streaming while drunk and started crying like crazy LOL.
She kept saying don’t hate me, I’m nice, why doesn’t anyone believe me, then started grumbling and suddenly showed herself in the mirror.
And then you know what she said?
‘I’m pretty, right?! I’m not scary, right?! Do I look like an orc? Am I an orc?!!’
LOL.
But honestly, she is objectively pretty, for real LOL.
Anyway, she’s insanely likable.
If you missed it, at least check out the clips.]

└ For real LOL.
└ It’s a whole new concept.
• When people complimented her in the chat, she started grinning like crazy LOL.
└ When they said she was pretty, she was like “…Really?” while squirming shyly and blushing. Totally real.
└ Holy crap, I just watched the clip and my heart’s racing. Is that normal?
└ Yup, totally normal.
•She’s a monster, so why is she so pretty? Why is she making me feel butterflies?!
└ She’s gorgeous. Cheers to that.
“…What even is this?”
Hanyul was stunned for a moment at how hyped everyone was.
But she was at an age full of curiosity—too much to resist.
She was practically hypnotized as she clicked the replay channel link in the comments.
And just like that, Hanyul stayed up all night.
The next day, she ended up being late for school.
But her heart felt full.
‘…Gumiho unnie is adorable…’
Of all days, why did there have to be a tower raid scheduled today?
Hanyul could only feel regret.
* * *
Late at night, with the moon peeking out from the sky.
Yubin, still drunk, was crying as if the whole world had turned against her.
“Huuhuhuu… Why… Why does everyone hate me so much…”
Wailing with sorrow, pounding the floor in frustration, Yubin summoned her status window.
There, her eyes landed on one particular skill:
[Internet Broadcast]
“……”
The moment she saw that button, Yubin had a thought.
She should start a stream and tell the world how unfairly she was being treated.
Of course, Yubin knew that no one actually had a problem with her at the moment.
But after meeting Chanseok recently, she became convinced—Surely, many other Hunters must feel the same way he did.
She understood it logically.
As a former Hunter herself, it made sense for people to be wary of a new type of monster.
But understanding with the mind and understanding with the heart—those were two different things.
To be honest, Yubin was offended.
She just hadn’t shown it openly until now.
“…Do you think I’m sitting here like this because I can’t do anything?!”
“I—I’ve got a temper too, you know… Pfft…”
“You’re all dead.”
With her eyebrows raised and her face turning fierce, Yubin pressed the skill button on her status window without hesitation.
One by one, people started joining the stream.
Yubin looked at the viewers entering despite the late hour with amazement.
Then, with a hurt expression, she looked into the camera.
“…Hellooo……”
•What is this? Why’s she streaming at this hour?
•???
•Why are you live now?
•Do you think we wouldn’t watch just because it’s late?
•Why are your ears drooping down to the sides? That’s ridiculously cute.
As chat messages came in, Yubin’s face brightened a little.
“Hhhhhh….”
•???
•Why are you crying now?
•You seemed mad earlier, but now you’re crying?
“Guys… I—I’m so upset……”
“I’m a good person, I’m reeeally nice… but people keep saying mean things……”
“Seriously, Yang Chanseok! You bastard!”
•?????
•LOL.
•Why bring up Yang Chanseok out of nowhere?
•Is she drunk?
From the way her words slurred and the mood of the stream, the viewers immediately knew:
This was going to be legendary.
“Am I… scary? Do I look that scary to you…?”
•Nope, not scary at all.
•If you’re drunk, go to sleep~ Don’t make the sword ghost come for you.
•She’s totally wasted lol.
•You’re not scary~.
•Why would a gumiho be scary? For real.
•Not scary at all.
•You’re pretty!
Despite the compliments pouring into the chat, Yubin’s tears wouldn’t stop.
“Lies!! You said I was scary!! You’re all liars!!”
Now she was crying harder, accusing the viewers of being bad people.
“……”
•What do you even want from us.
•LOL.
•WTF LOL.
•No, seriously, you’re really pretty.
•So pretty!
•Prettiest gumiho ever.
•Prettier than Ms. Chomo for real lol.
Yubin, however, wasn’t swayed by the flood of praise.
“GAAAL !!!”
•???.
•LOL.
•Did she just yell like it’s an anime fight?
•This is killing me lol.
“Do I look like an orc to you!? Huh?! What part of me looks like an orc?!”
“I—I’m pretty, right? Be honest! I’m at least kind of pretty, aren’t I?!”
“This is just too much……”
Even as they laughed, the viewers couldn’t help but slap their foreheads at the sheer chaos of it all.
