    Things That Shouldn’t Be Touched

Jade Miller was born into the Miller Viscounty, a family famous for being magicians in the Britannia Empire.

Though the Miller family was a viscount family, they were a prestigious family with a long history, producing powerful magicians generation after generation, some of whom had reached the level of archmages.

While swordsmen who controlled ki were also powerful forces, magicians excelled against multiple enemies.

And since the number of outstanding magicians was generally much less than the number of outstanding swordsmen when viewed as a whole, they were well-treated.

Jade Miller, being born into a family that belonged to the prestigious class even among magician families, had his talent recognized from a young age and received enormous support.

Not only did he learn from numerous magic books annotated by archmages, but he could also consistently receive good medicines that increased the amount of mana in his body.

Entering Minst Academy, he easily rose to the top of the Magic Department from his first year thanks to his innate talent and the massive support he received from his family.

With a good family background, being the top of the Magic Department, and having handsome looks, many women were attracted to him.

Now, as a fourth-year student about to graduate, he had gone through numerous women to reach his current position.

‘I heard exchange students from Jeiha Academy are coming today?’

Jade was interested in the existence of these exchange students.

It wasn’t interest in Theodore Skyroad, who had reportedly topped various departments at Jeiha Academy.

It was interest in his fiancée, Yuria Arsein, who was coming with him.

‘Just from rumors, she’s supposed to be an extraordinary beauty.’

She, who would be a second-year academy student, would be two years younger than him now.

Unlike Jeiha Academy, where the top position is determined only in the latter half of the year and until then, rather than officially designating someone as the top student, students distinguish the top and second-best performers in each department’s grade among themselves, Minst Academy officially defined the positions of top and second-place from the beginning of the year at the academy level.

And the top and second positions could be replaced based on ability at any time, and they were replaced countless times according to challenges.

In other words, everyone in the same year and same department was a potential challenger eyeing the positions of the department’s top and second-place students.

Jade, who rose to the top position through a skill comparison during the initial classes of the fourth-year Magic Department, was overflowing with pride in his position, as he was about to grasp the honor of graduating after holding the top position for four consecutive years.

Even after graduating like this, his life would be smooth sailing.

But he thought that since he was so great and outstanding, he needed a woman worthy of him.

‘I can’t choose just anyone to carry my excellent seed.’

Although Jade was a playboy who had gone through numerous women, his family didn’t take issue with his behavior because he always carefully used contraceptive magic, so there were no child problems.

‘Yuria Arsein. I hear she’s the top beauty in the Arcan Empire? And her mother, the Duchess of Arsein, was also famously a great beauty.’

Even as someone from the Britannia Empire, Jade had access to some information about how much Duke Arsein had struggled in his youth, captivated by the beauty of Duchess Arsein, while gathering information about Yuria Arsein.

It seemed he had gone through quite a tearful struggle, which Jade couldn’t understand.

‘Being a duke, why is he so submissive and cautious?’

Even now, there were rumors that he was a henpecked husband who was mindful of the Duchess of Arsein’s mood.

‘She might be a bit feisty, but I can tame her well.’

If Yuria Arsein was a beauty as rumored, Jade thought he would definitely make her his woman, even if she was the young lady of a foreign ducal house.

Although she had a fiancé, he thought it was just a matter of breaking off the engagement, viewing it merely as a troublesome obstacle.

    “Wow, she’s killing it!”

“Doesn’t he look too much like W-William?”

Hearing such noisy reactions, Jade, feeling that the rumored exchange students had finally arrived, went to see them, expecting Yuria Arsein’s appearance.

    ‘Oh!’

What Jade felt when he first saw Yuria Arsein was shock.

He couldn’t believe that such a beautiful woman could exist.

    ‘Perfect!’

The moment he saw Yuria’s appearance, he realized that perfect beauty actually existed.

He also realized that all the rumors about Yuria’s beauty were truth without exaggeration.

Even in the Minst Academy uniform, the curves of her full chest could be felt even through the uniform jacket. Also, the luscious thighs revealed below the short uniform skirt and the harmony of those thighs contrasted with her slender, slim legs—the legs were fantastic from the very shape.

‘Looking at the structure of the uniform skirt, her hips seem solid too. She’ll bear children well.’

Since she was originally said to be the second-ranked in the Swordsmanship Department of Jeiha Academy, she would also be sturdy enough to give birth easily. Thinking this, Jade examined Yuria’s beautiful face in detail.

‘Amazing. No matter how much I look, I don’t get tired of it.’

Even while Theodore was overwhelmingly defeating various opponents and establishing his presence, he was looking at Yuria.

Yuria’s beautiful face seemed flawless from any angle, and though she had eyes that looked pure and gentle, they also seemed to have firm determination, which stimulated a desire to conquer.

‘I wonder how that woman would cry in bed?’

With such desire, Jade finally gave attention to Theodore Skyroad.

‘First, I need to defeat that guy.’

Though it would be difficult to get Yuria Arsein right away, Jade thought that if he approached her step by step, she would eventually fall into his arms, so he threw a challenge to Theodore, who had just defeated Caron.

“Then may I challenge you too?”

    “It’s Senior Jade!”

    “Senior Jade!”

At his challenge, voices of Minst Academy students introducing him could be heard.

He could feel that they expected him, the top student of the fourth-year Magic Department, to defeat the exchange student Theodore Skyroad, even with magic, and save Minst Academy’s pride.

‘Hehe, they seem to know me.’

Jade tried to calm himself for a moment to suppress his desire to embrace Yuria immediately, as he noticed her gaze directed at him.

It would be troublesome if he made a mistake by getting too excited here.

First, after approaching her, he needed to proceed step by step to make her fall for him.

    “A magician.”

Theodore immediately recognized that he was a magician.

“Yes. You just said you’re confident in everything except divine powers, right? How about a magical duel with me?”

    “I already said I don’t mind.”

“Hoho, is that so? Then how about this? Let’s make a bet.”

Jade’s gaze turned to Yuria. He wanted to get Yuria Arsein by any means and make her his woman.

“If I win, will you lend me your fiancée for just one day? I’d like to have a hot date with that beautiful lady.”

At those words, a cold killing intent could be felt settling in Theodore’s eyes.

Jade momentarily felt his knees weaken, and seeing that killing intent, he realized that Theodore, contrary to rumors, seemed to value his fiancée quite highly.

‘Well, with a woman who has a face and body that kills at a glance, it’s understandable.’

As he was having such thoughts and coming to terms with it, Theodore said:

“Lady Yuria, what do you think?”

“Young Lord Theodore, I think it’s obviously absurd. Why are you even asking?”

“Hehe, that’s true, but I wanted to hear your opinion directly. I don’t have the authority to put you up as a betting subject as I please.”

At Theodore’s words, Yuria was seen smiling at him.

Jade felt irritated at that sight.

Yuria’s smiling face was more beautiful than imagined, and though many around were staring at her smile in a daze, Jade was displeased that smile was directed at Theodore.

He would make that smile directed only at him.

He would make her completely fall for him and even submit to him!

“Young Lord Theodore, then I’ll say it. Just show him with your skills that such a bet isn’t even worth existing. That would be fine, right?”

“Well, that’s such an easy thing that I’m almost sorry to have received such a request. To have received such a request for dealing with something like that.”

Hearing Theodore’s words, Jade felt, to put it crudely, increasingly pissed off.

‘How dare he look down on me!’

His annoying face, which resembled William’s, was not to his liking either.

Despite that, unlike William, he had a sense of pressure, and many women’s gazes were seen fawning over him.

Though Yuria seemed to show favor toward him for different reasons than those women, in any case, none of it was to his liking.

    “Now, let’s begin!”

The duel between Jade, who shouted so spiritedly, and Theodore showed the direction of the outcome as soon as it began.

    BOOOOM!

    “GUAAACK?!”

The moment Jade was about to cast a spell, he was suddenly struck in the face by the explosion of his own mana.

Though he quickly surrounded himself with a barrier to protect his body, the impact of the explosion hitting his face was still painful enough to make his head spin.

    ‘W-what?’

Jade couldn’t understand what had just happened to him.

Why had his mana suddenly exploded, canceling his spell, and why had the impact come to him instead?

    “AAAAARGH?!”

And then Jade had to push such questions to the back of his consciousness.

Suddenly feeling a pain as if his insides were being twisted, a scream burst forth from him.

The pain, incomparable to muscles being twisted, was unbearable even with Jade’s mental strength, causing him to scream.

    ‘T-this is!’

Even amid that pain, he realized what was happening to him.

The mana inside his body was being twisted strangely, giving him terrible pain from within!

Penetrating someone’s body with overwhelming mana and twisting their insides was not something an ordinary magician could do.

Moreover, he unwillingly realized why his magic just now had failed and exploded.

Theodore had simply infiltrated his mana into the magic Jade was trying to cast, messing up the arrangement of mana for the spell and causing it to explode.

To do such a thing against a magician of his level would require at least the level of an archmage.

    ‘A-archmage?!’

As Jade realized the level of his opponent, all other thoughts were pushed aside.

He had messed with the wrong person.

This was the first thought that came to his mind.

‘Impossible! A guy two years younger than me is an archmage?!’

What’s more, he wasn’t even solely focused on magic, but his other abilities, including swordsmanship, were also outstandingly superior as he had just demonstrated!

Realizing that targeting Yuria Arsein was suicidal, Jade hurriedly tried to declare surrender.

But his mouth suddenly wouldn’t open, as if it was blocked by something.

“Since you touched what shouldn’t be touched, I’ll make you feel the difference in level between you and me as magicians. I’ll forcibly instill in you an understanding of your place.”

At Theodore’s cold declaration, Jade felt genuine fear.

    ‘No!’

As Jade’s scream poured out in his heart, his mouth became free for a moment, but he couldn’t shout surrender.

    “AAAAAAAARGH?!”

This was because he was too busy screaming due to the terrible pain.
