Chapter 28: Heavenly Voice (2)

    A completely unexpected donation.

    Kim Ha-yoon—Raidel—narrowed her eyes slightly.

    Click.

With a tap of the mouse, the user ‘ㅇㅇ’ who sent the nasty donation was instantly permabanned.

There was nothing good about leaving a bait donation like that alone.

Once banned, the user couldn’t chat or send donations again until they were unbanned.

    However—

    [They caught a martyr LOL]

[Wasn’t he kinda speaking facts though?]

[If Raidel’s excited to sing with a guy, instant like.]

[Let’s be real, Silverhair is alpha af.]

[Cancel the collab while you still can.]

The problem was the chats that followed.

They were completely different from the usual vibe of her stream.

    Something felt off.

This wasn’t the occasional troll that popped up now and then.

For this many trolls to swarm in all at once—something was definitely wrong.

    Come to think of it…

The viewer count had spiked unusually fast as soon as the stream started today.

And judging from the current chat, that clearly wasn’t a good sign.

    ‘Did something happen?’

    Raidel checked her fan café.

After the collab announcement with Silverhair went up for today’s singing stream,

Some murmurs had started bubbling up across the community—

Wasn’t she collabing with Silverhair a little too often?

Objectively, this was only their third collab.

Not something to get worked up about.

Besides, hadn’t they made some legendary streams together already?

Even in the café, the sentiment toward Silverhair wasn’t particularly bad.

Some raised an eyebrow over the singing collab, but that was it.

    Still—

[She seduced him with singing, huh.]

    [My horn hurts.]

[Not to sound paranoid, but something’s going on… If they act cutesy during the collab, I’m gonna lose it.]

[Lucky Silver… getting to duet with Raidel LOL]

Trolls had found the perfect bait to latch onto.

[Stop this overreaction and don’t ruin the mood.]

[If this is how it is before the collab starts, how are they even supposed to stream?]

[It’s just a duet, why is this even a thing?]

    [Seriously, quit the overdramatizing.]

Trolls, mildly disgruntled viewers, and people trying to shut it down—

All their chats collided into one chaotic mess.

“H-Hey everyone, hang on a sec.”

Cold sweat ran down Raidel’s back.

As she scrolled through the chat and got a grasp on the situation,

She realized—this wasn’t just about another collab.

The real issue was the singing collab.

Rumors were flying around that she and Silverhair had caught feelings for each other…

That they were going to sing a love song together.

    ‘My head hurts…’

Just reading it gave her a migraine.

It was so ridiculous, she didn’t even know where to start refuting it.

‘When did Silver become my boyfriend?’

She’d never even had a boyfriend.

It was depressing, sure, but at least she never had to deal with the typical female streamer curse—“Do you have a boyfriend?”

Now she was getting flamed for a nonexistent one, and the unfairness bubbled up from deep inside.

“Guys, what kind of nonsense are you even talking about? Silver is—”

    That’s when Raidel paused.

A cold chill ran down her spine.

The unpleasant jolt that hits when your subconscious realizes you’re screwed.

‘Wait… did I forget to mention Silver’s a girl in the announcement?’

Raidel quickly opened her fan café and checked her own post.

“Broadcast time has been moved up by an hour due to a special guest. (with Silver ♡)”

    ‘……’

    It was a mistake.

    A glaring one.

    A mistake even a fool wouldn’t make.

She meant to include a hint that Silver was a girl.

If it had been clear it was a girl collab, this chaos wouldn’t be happening.

‘Why did I even add the heart…’

Instead of clarifying the gender, she’d thrown in a heart emoji.

It was like removing the fire extinguisher and throwing gasoline into the fire.

Raidel wanted to rip her own hair out.

‘I’ve been out of it all day.’

It had been a hectic morning.

    She went to meet Silver,

Got completely disarmed by her cuteness,

    Shared some chicken and chatted,

And even moved the stream up an hour.

With less prep time than usual,

She’d completely forgotten to write what she meant to in the post.

Adding the heart just made things worse.

If she’d written “she” and added a heart, no one would’ve batted an eye.

    But she didn’t.

Now it really looked like a boyfriend.

The majority still thought Silver was a guy.

Even Raidel had assumed that before meeting her.

That misunderstanding snowballed into this disaster.

‘I just thought her voice was nice, so I planned a collab!’

    That was all.

    Seo-yeon’s voice was crystal clear,

And today just happened to be a singing stream.

So she’d invited her last minute.

‘If she were a guy, I’d never have done it!’

If Silver had actually been a man, she wouldn’t have brought him on a singing stream.

‘94% of my viewers are men—why would I serve them another guy’s voice?’

Raidel’s stream was casual and chill.

But her looks were striking, and that made her audience 94% male.

The remaining 6%? Probably kids watching with their mom’s account.

Finding a female viewer on Raidel’s stream was harder than finding hair on a bald guy.

Bringing in a male voice would be pointless. No one was asking for that.

    “U-um, everyone. So, here’s the thing…”

As she scolded herself for being an idiot,

    Raidel’s mind went into overdrive.

‘Should I just double down and say she is a guy?’

If Seo-yeon really were a guy, that’d be crazy.

But she wasn’t. She was definitely a girl.

What if she played it up, claimed Silver was a dude, and let the chat go wild—

Only for Seo-yeon to appear onscreen?

The confusion. The twist. The perfect prank.

‘No. That’s risky. It could bite me later.’

As good as it was for stream content,

A clip of her yelling “What’s wrong with streaming with a guy?!” could get taken out of context and spread like wildfire.

Stirring up drama is easy. Cleaning it up? Not so much.

One fun clip wasn’t worth the potential backlash.

‘Better to just clarify she’s a girl.’

That was the most logical fix.

Nothing to hide. Seo-yeon was a girl.

The heart emoji was supposed to be a hint.

    A simple oversight. That’s all.

Having made up her mind, Raidel spoke.

“Ahem. Everyone, I forgot to mention it in the post, but actually, Silver is—”

    “Ah, hello?”

    Just then,

A voice suddenly came through the stream.

    [??? Who is this?]

    [What? Who’s this girl’s voice??????]

    [Another collab guest?]

    [Who the heck is this?????]

    [First time hearing this voice.]

[But wow… this voice is making my heart flutter.]

    It was Silverhair—Seo-yeon.

    “Whoa…”

    Watching Raidel’s stream, I gulped.

She’d mentioned a singing stream today, and I was supposed to appear as the guest.

‘Even just collabing will help you build stream instincts.’

‘I’ll split the donations like last time, so it’ll help financially too.’

It was a small gesture from Raidel.

    A warm-up for my debut.

Just like she said, it’d build experience—and earn me some money.

    Two birds, one stone.

Yes, I’d be in front of a lot of people,

But it wasn’t my own stream—I was just a guest.

Way less pressure than going live myself.

    Or… it should have been.

    “Is this really okay?”

The chaos in chat was overwhelming.

Raidel hadn’t mentioned my gender, and that sparked the misunderstanding.

The words “singing stream with a guy” had pulled in all the trolls.

Raidel looked clearly flustered too, likely because of her mistake.

‘Hmm. I should do something, right?’

I grabbed the mic I’d prepped and launched Voice Code, my voice connection program.

I’d set it up beforehand, so all it took was a single click to go live.

    “Ah, hello?”

A moment later, my voice came through Raidel’s stream.

    ‘Hmm.’

    Now what?

I opened with a greeting to clear the misunderstanding,

But I hadn’t planned what to say next.

    ‘Ah.’

A movie scene flashed through my mind.

I cleared my throat and, trying to channel a bit of Iron Man energy—

    “I-I’m Sliverhair.”

Thanks to the chaotic vibe, my nervous tongue-twist felt oddly endearing.

    [Wait, Silverhair was a girl????]

    [This is legendary LOL]

[But why does her voice sound so good?]

[Is she training to be a voice actress or something?]

    [SILVERHAIR I LOVE YOU x4]

    [She’s so f*cking cute LOL]

    [Heueung noona~ Heueung noona~ Heueung noona~ Heueung noona~ Heueung noona~]

The viewers, for the most part, seemed pretty satisfied.

    “Hehe….”

    TL Note:

    • “WWE/UFC” metaphors in streaming refer to chat drama escalating from playful banter (WWE) to actual heated arguments (UFC).
    • “Heueung noona~” is a meme-like affectionate chant mixing a whimper and calling an older girl “noona.”
