The Young Lady of House Artin

The Young Lady of House Artin

    Reina Artin.

Born as the young lady of House Artin, just by being born in a family that produced the Chosen One and being the younger sister of the Chosen One, she would have been envied by many as the sister of the hero who would save the world.

Her brother was the hero who would save the world, her parents were the master and mistress of House Artin.

And Reina herself, though only fourteen, boasted exceptional beauty, and was already expected to become one of the most beautiful women in the Britannia Empire if she continued to grow like this.

Looking at it this way, her life could be considered blessed.

But Reina never once thought of herself as blessed.

    “AAAAARGH!”

The sound of someone screaming loudly was heard.

For such a sound to be made in none other than the Artin mansion would normally be impossible.

Even if the visitor were the Emperor, there was a basic line that should be kept.

But the person making those screams now was beyond all such rules.

    ‘The heir of House Artin…’

Reina felt displeased by the screams of her brother, William.

Though she didn’t know what he had experienced, it was clear he had been up to no good and things hadn’t gone well.

‘As expected, such a person couldn’t possibly be the Chosen One.’

From what she had heard, yesterday William had gone to Yuria, the treasured daughter of House Arsein from the Arcan Empire who had come to study at Minst Academy for a year, and showed a disrespectful attitude, taunting her.

When she happened to meet him in the corridor as he suddenly went out in the middle of the night, it was clear that his bad mood was because he couldn’t satisfy his dirty desire toward Lady Yuria.

‘Mother says she found Theodore brother, but father just says it’s someone who looks like him…’

The contrasting reactions of the Duke and Duchess of Artin also made Reina curious.

Since the Duke and Duchess of Artin had raised her with love, Reina also loved her parents as a daughter.

But separately from that, she thought that what the Duke and Duchess of Artin had done to her older brother Theodore, whom she couldn’t even remember from her early childhood, was an unforgivable atrocity.

The sight of Ceres, the Duchess of Artin, sobbing and saying she had found Theodore wasn’t normal even to Reina. It was likely because she now felt how great her sin was, which was affecting her mentally.

But if Theodore hadn’t disappeared, Reina now understood that she too would likely have received similar treatment.

Having grown up watching her abnormal parents and her completely delinquent brother William, rather than simply growing up as a beloved young lady, Reina had no choice but to mature beyond her years.

‘Was it really Theodore brother? Or was it mother’s illusion?’

This question arose in Reina’s heart.

Theodore Skyroad, was he really her brother Theodore Artin? Or just someone who looked like him?

But Reina felt that it would be impolite to go directly and ask.

It was obvious how Ceres, the Duchess of Artin, would have behaved in a situation where William had committed the wrong of harassing and insulting his fiancée.

If he wasn’t Theodore, it would have just been a severe rudeness.

‘Today is Saturday, should I visit tomorrow to apologize?’

However, Reina decided against visiting in person.

She was still young and not old enough to attend Minst Academy, but he would be attending Minst Academy.

For the time being, she planned to listen to news about him and watch what kind of person he was while hearing stories.

Also, it felt morally wrong to visit with another purpose under the guise of an apology.

‘Though they said they would send an apology at the House Artin level, since I’m also a direct young lady of House Artin, I should write an apology letter for what brother William did, and for what mother did as well.’

Though she had done nothing wrong herself, Reina had a servant bring appropriate stationery and a pen to write a pure apology for what her family members had done.

And she began to write the apologetic content in the letter.

Since it was something she did often, there was no difficulty.

[To Young Lord Theodore of House Skyroad.

Hello. I am Reina Artin, the young lady of House Artin. I heard that on Friday, my brother William was disrespectful to your fiancée, Lady Yuria.

As a member of House Artin, I sincerely apologize for the rudeness he committed.

Also, I heard that my mother, the Duchess of Artin, was disrespectful to Young Lord Theodore, and I would like to express my sincere apologies for how surprised you must have been.]

Starting with such content, Reina continued to write about how sorry she was and that she would like to meet in person someday to apologize directly.

    ‘It’s like this again.’

This wasn’t even a special experience for Reina.

In fact, for the past year, she had been personally visiting the victims of William’s incidents to apologize directly.

Moreover, since House Artin knew she was trying to clean up the aftermath, they supported her in visiting victims directly to apologize and compensate for damages.

This incident too was nothing special, just routine.

Yes, it would have just been that.

If William hadn’t suddenly burst through the door.

    “F*CK!”

Noticing that his atmosphere was unusually ominous as he distorted his handsome face into something monstrous, huffing angrily as if things weren’t going well again, Reina paused her letter-writing and asked:

    “B-brother? What are you doing?”

She knew he was always displeased with her, but this was the first time he had entered by kicking the door open so roughly.

“FCK! Shut up! You btch! Are you laughing at me too? Are you laughing?!”

Reina was even more bewildered by William’s behavior, suddenly starting with curses out of nowhere.

‘What on earth is going on?’

Normally, William was someone who believed he was special because he was the Chosen One, and that the whole world should naturally serve him. But because of that, he was a person who was arrogant in a bad way, not caring about others’ criticism and mocking the voices of his victims.

He wasn’t the type to be so caught up in a victim mentality that he would suddenly get upset about someone laughing at him.

    “What are you writing?”

Then he approached Reina, quickly snatched the letter, read the letter she was in the middle of writing, and then crumpled his face and tore up the letter.

“Fck! Theodore, Theodore! Why are you sending such a letter to that fcking b*stard? So you too think I’m a joke? You find me funny?”

As he tore the letter to pieces, Reina immediately confronted him.

    “Brother! What are you doing?”

“You’re talking back? Did you just talk back to me? You b*tch!”

Reina felt a chill of fear seeing William growling at her.

His appearance, as if he was about to harm her, was far from normal.

He wasn’t normal even on ordinary days, and “maniac” was a more fitting description for the delinquent he was, but today he seemed even more insane.

    ‘What on earth is happening?’

She couldn’t understand what had happened to make him behave like this.

It seemed related to Theodore Skyroad, but she couldn’t find the answer as to what about him had caused such great anger in William.

For now, Reina had never met him, so she had little information to infer anything.

‘Could it be that Young Lord Theodore’s true identity is my older brother Theodore Artin? Is William showing such paranoid behavior because he’s afraid of being exposed as a fake since the other is the real Chosen One?’

Such thoughts briefly crossed her mind, but they were merely speculations without any basis.

And she didn’t have the luxury to seriously consider it.

“Oh my, if you, girl, disrespect this brother, I’ll give my damn sister a proper lesson!”

This was because William was approaching Reina after saying that.

“B-brother? Why are you doing this! AAAAH!”

Reina screamed in pain. William had roughly grabbed her hair and started shaking her violently.

“It hurts! It hurts! Stop! Stop! AAAAH!”

Reina pleaded, tears flowing from the pain. Despite her struggles, her feeble strength was no match for William’s brute force.

William, though lazy and not putting in effort, had genuine talent, and it was speculated that if he had been diligent, he would have become a master surpassing the academy’s professors even at the age of a first-year student.

But even without effort, he was strong enough to take second place in the Minst Academy’s Swordsmanship Department’s first year, and now he was exerting that strength on his little sister Reina, who was only 14 years old.

“My goodness! William, what are you doing!”

“Reina! William, stop that right now!”

Thanks to the maids who noticed the situation after hearing Reina’s screams and urgently reported to the Duke and Duchess of Artin, the couple rushed in with quick steps to stop William.

And William, who had been shaking Reina by her hair, let go of it roughly with a scream of “AAAAAAH!”, and Reina collapsed weakly.

    “Sob, sniff.”

Reina’s neat black hair, which had suffered the ordeal of being grabbed by the hair, was in a mess.

“M-my goodness! Reina, are you alright?”

Ceres approached urgently and asked Reina worriedly.

    “Y-yes.”

She wasn’t alright at all, but Reina swallowed her tears and said she was fine. She knew that if she didn’t say she was fine here, given William’s character, he would cause more trouble, and she would be the one to suffer the consequences.

    ‘I really hate this.’

It became even more unbelievable that such a person was the Chosen One.

It was too terrible that such a human was her brother.

“William, what on earth are you doing!”

“Fck! I’m in a bad mood today, so don’t talk to me! Ah sht! You’ve ruined my mood!”

    “William!”

Elliot grabbed his forehead as William left after breathing roughly.

He looked as if he couldn’t believe how his son had grown up to be such a delinquent.

    ‘It’s all self-inflicted.’

The fact that Theodore brother had left home, and that William brother had grown up to be such a hopeless delinquent, was all due to her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Artin, raising them wrongly.

Reina firmly established this fact in the midst of her pain.

    “Ugh.”

And though she had said she was fine, Reina, whose hair had been roughly pulled, shed tears from the pain that still remained even as she tidied her hair with her hands.

“Reina, are you really not hurt?”

“Yes. It hurts for a while… but it will get better with time.”

“Oh~ Reina. You poor thing. Why on earth did William commit such a vicious act against his sister?”

“I was… writing an apology letter to Young Lord Theodore when he suddenly burst in… I don’t really understand the reason either.”

    Reina truly couldn’t understand.

It was clear that he had attacked her and vented his anger on her over something unrelated to her.

    “Theodore…”

Ceres’s expression hardened when she heard Theodore’s name.

She, who had been comforting Reina, suddenly began repeatedly calling Theodore’s name as if she had lost her mind, and soon the name she was calling gradually changed.

“Theodore… ah… Theodore! sob Mother was wrong… Theodore.”

She started frantically calling Theodore Artin’s name.

“My lady! Theodore is not here! Please calm down!”

Elliot urgently approached to soothe Ceres, but she was like a broken person, shedding tears and continuing to call Theodore’s name.
