Chapter 27: Doki Doki literary club
by Afuhfuihgs“You’re finally here.”
It was still early morning, too early for school.
I welcomed her as she pushed open the classroom door and approached with staggering steps.
Only the two of us were in the desolate classroom, just her and me.
Leaning my back against the desk, I looked up at her with a coquettish gaze.
Her cheeks were gaunt, as if she hadn’t eaten properly these past few days, which was pitiful.
Pale skin and dark circles under her eyes, she looked sick enough to be believed.
But still, she was lovely. Even her withering appearance, I could only stare at it in a daze.
Ah, even though I was already crazy, she was so lovely it felt like I would go crazy all over again.
I licked my dry lips with my parched tongue.
The wound from that day, not yet fully healed, sent a stinging pain from the black scabbed lips.
I wasn’t a masochist, but right now, even such pain blossomed into a heated flower of pleasure.
I tried to ignore the wetness that was gradually seeping into my lower regions and waved my hand.
“Hi? Nice morning.”
“…Why?”
“Why, you ask? You’re asking the same question as last time.”
“Answer me properly!”
The way she slammed her fist on the desk was strangely powerful.
She looked like a quintessential woman, but she was surprisingly masculine.
Well, that was what made me fall for her in the first place.
If you asked how much I’d fallen for her, I was so smitten that even this violent conversation was enjoyable.
I smiled brightly and slowly opened my lips.
“Over the weekend… I went around to every police station in the area.”
“Yes, yes, I already know.”
“At first, they treated it as nonsense… but after seeing the wound on my arm and the blood on my hand, they all acknowledged that I had been attacked. The senior’s blood was also taken as evidence by a police officer.”
“And?”
“So I thought they’d be able to catch you, but the test results only showed it was my blood… It was definitely the senior’s blood! Definitely, definitely… But no one believed me, and they misunderstood, thinking I was causing a commotion by faking a self-inflicted wound…”
“Hmm, that’s too bad.”
“Why! Why can’t they catch someone like you!!”
“Well…”
I slowly started speaking, gently pressing my body closer to hers.
Our breaths mingled, and if I reached out, I could touch her heart.
Our faces drew closer.
Her dark blue eyes, wide like a rabbit’s, stared at me in surprise.
That look was so cute that, if I had my way, I’d want to gouge out her eyeballs, preserve them in formalin, and look at them forever.
A rather mad scientist-like thought made me giggle.
“This society is absurd, you see. There’s someone who pulls the strings, a sponsor, so to speak. I usually handle everything myself, but sometimes when I make small mistakes, that person cleans up after me. Ah, does a sponsor not really suit a murderer?”
“…A sponsor?”
“In other words, no matter how much you struggle, I won’t get caught. That person is even more rotten trash than I am, but the power they wield is immense. It’s the same even if your sister throws a fit. I’m not soft enough to leave behind definitive evidence. You tried pretty hard, but it didn’t work out. Your investigation is a complete failure, Officer Sia.”
“Nonsense.”
“There’s something more important than that!”
I suddenly shouted, looking up at her with tear-filled eyes. She, unknowingly intimidated, gulped and took a step back.
At that moment, I reached out and grabbed her bandaged forearm as if snatching it.
Kugh!
She let out a desirable moan.
The wound burst open, and the white gauze covering it stained red.
Drops of blood dripped onto the classroom floor, creating a messy picture.
“Hey? The two of us. We’re still friends, right? Best friends, right?”
“…Stop talking such dogsh*t. You disgusting monster.”
“Monster? Hehe, isn’t that too harsh for a girl like me? Huh? Don’t you think so?
If you really see me that way, fine. Today, I’ll kill the first person who talks to you.”
“What?”
“You don’t get it? Then I’ll say it slowly. Today, I, will, kill, the, first, person, who, talks, to, you.”
With your righteous personality, you’ll be furious by now.
You won’t be able to tolerate the atrocities of a heinous murderer.
You’ll tremble in fear yet bravely confront me.
Although we’ve only known each other for a few short months, I’ve been drawing you in my mind for over a year, so there’s nothing I don’t know about you.
Your naive sense of justice, your tendency to get lonely easily, your soft nature that can’t bring yourself to hate me even while cursing me.
“Stop joking around!”
“I’m not joking. I’m serious, you know? I don’t know who it is, but I’ll give that person the most gruesome death.”
“I told you to stop!”
“Why should I listen to you? We’re not friends or anything.”
“That’s…”
There was no way I could be friendly with trash like this.
But, I couldn’t sacrifice another person either.
Her appearance, caught in such a dilemma, was quite a sight. A deeply tormented face.
Her beautiful brow furrowed.
I loosened my grip on her forearm and stroked her smooth cheek.
The damp blood left a clear mark on her pale cheek.
“If you really feel that way, shall we make a deal?”
“A deal?”
Lovely.
Terribly lovely.
Her expression as despair spread across it, her desperate clinging to hope—all of it was lovely.
I felt an immense love for everything about her, for her very existence.
This was undoubtedly love.
To meet such a woman, and to finally have her in my grasp.
Ah, I truly am the luckiest. I squeezed the slender forearm in my hand even tighter, laughing maniacally and exulting.
Knowing that the subtly cold human temperature actually contained passionate love, I finally became happy.
And complete.
Finally, at long last, now!
“I won’t kill people anymore. Instead, you will be mine, and I will be yours. We’ll be each other’s best friends.”
“Well? I’m impatient. Can you give me an answer as soon as possible?”
Well, the answer was obvious, though.
A heavy silence fell, but dilemma or not, it was nothing more than forcing a one-sided choice.
“I…”
At the words that finally left her ‘friend’s’ lips, Seon-a laughed like a madwoman.
