Chapter 26 Please Don’t Doubt the Inquisitor
by AfuhfuihgsThe Inquisitor, was it?
Even though I had known information about almost all S-class hunters during my investigations at [Frozen Heart], to be honest, I didn’t know much about the Inquisitor’s existence.
I only knew that there was one more S-class hunter in [The Order] besides the Saint, but the Inquisitor was a figure shrouded in mystery.
Though clearly registered as the 6th ranked hunter, he was like an urban legend—someone listed but never seen.
I never expected to encounter such a hunter here.
‘They were hiding such a monster?’
A man with red hair, bulging muscles, and a massive frame that looked to be about 230cm tall.
Hazy eyes, a mouth that cracked into a grin looking at me, and a speech pattern that seemed half-deranged. Without a doubt, he was a drug addict.
But that didn’t mean I would let my guard down against this man.
Even though his eyes were half-clouded, he was trying to read my every movement.
It was instinct.
No matter how intoxicated by drugs, he faced me now with the instinct of a beast in combat.
Finding myself face to face with the Inquisitor, I couldn’t help but be quite intrigued.
“Kikikiki. Let’s fight quickly… Hero.”
Despite his frivolous words, he couldn’t hide the fighting spirit flowing from him.
No matter how steeped in drugs, he was no ordinary person. Without a doubt, this man was strong.
I could tell immediately that he was one of the upper-tier S-class hunters.
Normally, he would have been an opponent I could never defeat.
Probably even Park Jin-ha couldn’t have won against him.
So undoubtedly, the past me would have fled.
I would have run away, sought some way to win, and then defeated this man.
I would have felt that nothing was more foolish than confronting him head-on.
But somehow, just for now…
“Shall we begin?”
I don’t feel like I would lose now.
After being beaten by Park Jin-ha, I feel like the gears in my body have changed.
Could it be because of the crystal the Goddess gave me in that burning world?
I’m not sure, but my physical abilities now are beyond human level.
Bladinov Zerken.
The second-in-command of [The Order], known as the Inquisitor, the 6th ranked S-class hunter.
He couldn’t help but feel excited as he faced Lee Si-woo, who had introduced himself as the Hero.
‘His build looks compact, but he doesn’t seem that strong. Kik.’
The black-haired man before him stood about 180cm tall, without an especially bulky physique.
He had a build with moderately lean muscles.
And although he carried a sword from the Sword Saint Society, it wasn’t particularly good.
His attire was also very ordinary.
There were no items that looked expensive at all.
“Boring… I want drugs… Kikikik.”
Therefore, Bladinov Zerken was being careless.
He approached Si-woo as if he were hitting a punching bag.
Right now, his mind was filled only with thoughts of finishing quickly and taking drugs.
But…
Slash.
‘Huh?’
Somehow, Si-woo was behind him.
And he had been cut from his chest to his stomach.
Bladinov couldn’t help but be surprised.
Clearly, Bladinov had never taken his eyes off Si-woo.
No matter how intoxicated, during combat, he was someone who could pour all regions of his brain into the fight.
Such a man had been watching Si-woo the whole time.
Yet he couldn’t keep up at all.
And only the result remained.
Bladinov collapsed.
“That’s the end.”
Bladinov watched the blood bursting from his body.
Si-woo walked away leaving him behind.
“Kikikikiki… Different from how you look.”
But.
Bladinov stood up again.
“Kikikikikikikik… The word ‘Hero’ wasn’t just an exaggeration, it seems… Kikikik.”
“What? You have recovery abilities? That doesn’t match your appearance at all.”
Streams of light burst from Bladinov’s wounds.
Those streams of light healed Bladinov’s injuries.
Bladinov’s ability was [Super Regeneration], an S-class ability that could heal any wound in just seconds.
In the face of such an ability, even fatal wounds were useless.
“Kikikik… How long can you last? Kikikim.”
That’s why Bladinov wasn’t afraid of combat at all.
At this moment, Bladinov felt like he had found something more fun than drugs.
That was the pleasure of tormenting his opponent.
“Kikikikikik. I will never fall.”
BOOM…!!!
Bladinov began his counterattack.
After jumping into the air, he struck down where Si-woo was standing.
As he struck down, Bladinov’s excitement continued to rise.
He was thoroughly enjoying the current situation.
For him, combat was nothing but one-sided violence.
One-sided violence, a pastime that only Bladinov could enjoy where exchange wasn’t established.
“Kikikikikik…”
Once again, Bladinov soared into the air.
And again, he struck the ground.
KWAKWABOOM!!!
The floor caved in with a loud noise.
“Kikikikikikikik.”
Seeing Si-woo dodge all his attacks, Bladinov began to laugh as if it was too much fun.
Originally, the reason Bladinov sought drugs was because he was frustrated at not being able to fight strong opponents.
Combat maniac. For Bladinov, combat was like a drug itself, the very purpose of life.
For such a Bladinov, the current situation was very enjoyable.
Just how powerful would his opponent be?
How long could he sustain this bloody fight?
How much would he entertain himself?
Bladinov was steeped in anticipation as he looked at Si-woo before him.
“I’m already upset enough because of Si-eun, and your laughter is really pissing me off.”
The more the man before him felt irritated, the more enjoyable it was for Bladinov.
“Keok…”
The man before his eyes disappeared once again.
And somehow, he had bisected Bladinov’s body.
“Kikikikikik. If I recover… it’s over… Kikikik.”
Despite such injuries, Bladinov layered pleasure over the pain.
Streams of light once again extended from his bisected body, rejoining it.
And so the exchange continued.
Reytana.
A beautiful half-Caucasian woman with blonde hair wearing a nun’s habit.
She is the S-class hunter known as the Saint, who serves as the guild master of [The Order].
Such a Reytana was now praying before a goddess statue in a dark room in [The Order]’s basement.
“Please… give me an answer… Goddess.”
Reytana was always busy as the leader of a large guild, but she was someone who always kept her prayer time.
In a dark room, Reytana, wearing a nun’s habit with blonde hair, kneels before the statue.
And she puts her hands together to offer a prayer.
While praying like this, the door opens urgently.
“Lady Reytana. There’s big trouble.”
A man wearing priestly robes, he now looked at Reytana with an urgent expression.
“What is it?”
“Currently, two people have broken into the basement.”
He spoke very briefly about the current situation while catching his breath.
“Haah. Two people?”
“Yes. One man and one woman.”
“I see. It must be Park Jin-ha and Lee Si-woo.”
Hearing the words of the man in priestly robes, Reytana sighed.
She made an incredulous expression as if asking why she was called for such a thing.
“Then send the Inquisitor. He will take care of everything.”
“Well…”
“Is there a problem?”
Reytana spoke as if it were obvious.
However, the man in priestly robes hesitated before continuing his answer to Reytana’s words.
“I don’t think the Inquisitor alone will be enough.”
“Haah…”
Hearing the answer from the man in priestly robes, Reytana sighed once more.
She put her hand to her forehead.
“You people really don’t know about the Inquisitor.”
“…What do you mean?”
“He is not human. An immortal being who only seeks battle. Nothing can defeat him.”
And Reytana continued her explanation as if frustrated.
“I have seen him get serious only once.”
In Reytana’s mind, there was only one time she had seen the Inquisitor get serious.
No one else has seen it, but only Reytana knows his true ability.
“If he starts to get serious, half of Seoul will disappear.”
When Reytana met Bladinov in Russia, she could see his true ability just once.
And Reytana couldn’t help but be in awe of that power.
The idea that such an Inquisitor could lose is nonsensical.
“Please don’t doubt the Inquisitor.”
Reytana turned her head as if she had nothing more to say and looked back at the goddess statue.
And as if disturbed, she gestured to the believer in priestly robes, implying not to interrupt her prayer.
But…
She couldn’t continue her prayer.
“Hey. Is the junkie here?”
“Kikikikikik… Ye-Yes… Brother Si-woo… This is the place. Kik.”
“Hey. Didn’t I tell you not to grin?”
“I-I’m sorry. I won’t grin, so please don’t hit me anymore…”
Soon, the voices of two men were heard in front of the statue room.
“Huh…?”
Reytana soon discovered the Inquisitor begging with both hands while crying.
And a man dragging him by the hair.
Reytana was perplexed by the current situation.
