Chapter 25 : Streamers who want to be one , come to me (2)
by fnovelpia
Kim Hayun’s pupils shook.
“Isn’t she… a man?”
She had assumed Silver-haired was a man.
When she had received the VR machine via delivery, the name was Yu Seoyeon, a very feminine name.
She thought it might be her younger sister’s name, or perhaps it was just a man with a feminine-sounding name.
It was a prejudice.
Up until now, most of the people who played Raid and Master well were men.
Whether the name was Yu Seoyeon or Kim Hyeji, she had expected Silver-haired’s gender to be male as well.
However, the person standing in front of her was—Not a man at all, but a breathtakingly cute girl.
She was a girl with no trace of male hormones to be found.
Her long silver hair shimmered in the sunlight, shining softly.
The hair, flowing gently as if it absorbed the light, looked almost mystical.
She had a small, slender face with delicate features.
Especially, her violet eyes were unbelievably beautiful.
So clear, they shone like crystals.
Through the soft strands of hair, her purple eyes slightly lifted and gazed at Kim Hayun.
“Whoa.”
Her voice, sounding a bit surprised, was clear and soft.
Kim Hayun could feel her heart racing.
She was wearing a simple, comfortable T-shirt and dolphin shorts.
In one hand, she held a chicken leg.
A little bit of chicken sauce was smeared around her mouth.
She had just woken up from her room, but even that messy appearance felt endearing.
Yu Seoyeon squinted slightly, as if the sunlight was a bit too much for her.
She extended the chicken she was holding.
“Ch-Chicken, would you like some?”
***
It was a disaster.
Yu Seoyeon felt like pulling her hair out in frustration.
The scheduled time was 11 AM.
But the current time was just past 10:30 AM.
She had arrived 30 minutes early.
That meant, She had 30 minutes less to wash up and prepare.
“Why did you come so early?”
Maybe she thought arriving early was polite.
“That kind of social etiquette isn’t necessary…”
When the doorbell rang, she thought it was the delivery person, since the meeting time was still far away.
Thanks to the big donation she received yesterday, she had ordered expensive groceries to celebrate.
She thought the delivery was just arriving quickly, like express shipping – “Wow, bullet delivery really works fast” – but when she opened the door, it was streamer Rydel.
“What do I do?”
When the unexpected situation arose, she felt frozen.
Her usual waking time was 12 PM, but due to the appointment, she had gotten up around 10:30 AM.
In other words, she had just woken up.
She had rubbed her eyes, started eating the leftover spicy chicken leg from yesterday, and then.
Rydel just appeared out of nowhere.
She hadn’t planned to meet like this.
She had intended to take her time, wash her face, and even wash her hair during the remaining time.
Right now, Yoo Seoyeon was dressed in just a t-shirt and dolphin shorts.
(She had initially been reluctant to wear dolphin shorts, but they turned out to be surprisingly comfortable as loungewear.)
In one hand, she held a piece of cold, leftover yangnyeom chicken from last night’s order.
Munch, munch.
Gulp.
After swallowing the bite she had been chewing, Yoo Seoyeon reached out her hand.
“D-Do you want some chicken?”
Oh no.
She had meant to share the leftover chicken as a gesture of goodwill, but she had accidentally offered a piece she had already bitten into.
“Ah, yes. Thank you.”
Fortunately, it seemed like Hayun understood her intent, as she didn’t take the already-eaten piece.
“Can we talk inside?”
“P-Please come in.”
Inside the room.
The silver lining in this situation was that she had cleaned up in advance.
Streamer Rydel looked around the neatly organized space.
Yoo Seoyeon swallowed hard.
Seeing a famous streamer she had only ever watched online standing in her room felt surreal.
“Can I call you Silver Hair— I mean, Yoo Seoyeon?”
“Yes! Yes. Then I’ll call you Kim Hayun…?”
“Sure, just feel free to call me whatever’s comfortable.”
Kim Hayun smiled brightly.
“As I mentioned yesterday, I came here to help since you said you were interested in streaming.”
As Yoo Seoyeon placed the leftover chicken into the microwave, Kim Hayun watched her and thought to herself.
‘One way or another, she’s bound to debut as a streamer or something someday.’
Talent as overwhelming as hers could never stay hidden.
Whether or not Hayun helped her, Yoo Seoyeon would eventually show her skills to the world.
So, it was better if Hayun was the one to help her.
She’d offer as much support as possible and build a strong connection.
Having ties with a gaming prodigy like Yoo Seoyeon would be a huge asset to her own channel.
‘Besides, I owe her a lot.’
Setting aside any calculated reasoning, Hayun was genuinely grateful.
Thanks to Yoo Seoyeon, her streams had exploded in popularity.
Whenever they streamed together, hitting over ten thousand viewers had become routine.
Even when Yoo Seoyeon wasn’t around, Hayun’s average viewership had jumped significantly—from 2,000 to around 5,000.
People who came for Yoo Seoyeon had stuck around.
‘I should teach her everything—gear setup, streaming tips, all of it.’
She had gained so much from Yoo Seoyeon already, helping her in return was the least she could do.
“So, Seoyeon, do you watch internet streams often?”
“Y-Yes. I used to watch quite a lot….”
“That’s good. If you’re already interested, adapting to streaming will be much easier. It’s a tough field for people who know nothing about it.”
“Hehe, thank you….”
‘She won’t meet my eyes.’
Instead of looking at Hayun, Yoo Seoyeon kept her gaze fixed on the steaming hot yangnyeom chicken.
It probably wasn’t because she was hungry.
Her awkward expression alone made it clear—she struggled with social interactions.
As streamer Rydel, Kim Hayun had encountered countless people.
To Kim Hayun, it was clear.
‘Seoyeon is really introverted.’
But that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Surprisingly, not many internet streamers were actually extroverted.
Dealing with people in real life and dealing with them online were two entirely different things.
Even shy people often managed to put on a great performance during broadcasts.
‘In fact, being too social can be a problem.’
Some people were so extroverted that they couldn’t handle the isolation of being a full-time streamer.
Loneliness in a crowd.
At its core, streaming was a profession where you were surrounded by people yet fundamentally alone.
In that sense, being at least somewhat introverted was actually an advantage.
It meant having a higher tolerance for solitude and loneliness.
‘Hmm.’
Hayun studied Seoyeon’s face like a detective.
She had wiped them, but there were still traces of sleep in her eyes.
Her drowsy expression made it obvious—she wasn’t fully awake yet.
‘She just woke up, didn’t she?’
Being quick on the uptake, Hayun easily deduced that Seoyeon had forced herself to wake up early for their 11 AM meeting.
She probably would’ve slept much later otherwise.
It was clear she had a nocturnal sleep schedule.
‘She’s practically built for streaming.’
This was actually a good thing.
Most streamers broadcasted at night anyway.
Streamers lived on the opposite schedule of normal people—they worked when others rested and rested when others worked.
Usually, the prime streaming hours were between 6 and 8 PM.
It was common to start streaming around the time people got off work.
A typical session lasted around six hours, meaning that even at the earliest, bedtime would be past midnight.
A healthy routine—sleeping at 10 PM and waking up at 6 AM—was simply not compatible with a streamer’s lifestyle.
It wasn’t impossible, but it would be a disadvantage when it came to stream timing.
In that sense, being nocturnal wasn’t a drawback for a streamer—it was an advantage.
After all, there were naturally fewer viewers during regular daytime hours when most people were busy with their daily lives.
Meanwhile, Seoyeon was just blankly staring at her chicken.
But in Hayun’s internal evaluation, her score was steadily rising.
“I think you should start by setting up a webcam, Seoyeon. I know some great budget-friendly options.”
And finally, her biggest advantage as a streamer.
That adorable face.
The kind of cuteness that could make someone gasp in awe the moment they saw her.
There was no way it wouldn’t work.
It was impossible for it not to.
With that level of cuteness, even a cold-hearted psychopath would find themselves melting.
“Uh, s-sorry, but… do I have to show my face?”
But Seoyeon shook her head.
‘Is she uncomfortable showing her face?’
“If it’s too much, a no-cam stream is fine too.”
After all, streaming was something anyone, anywhere, could watch.
Many people found it overwhelming to reveal their face to the entire internet.
Once a face was made public, it was practically set in stone forever.
In fact, plenty of streamers never showed their faces at all.
Some of them were even quite popular.
Especially for skill-based streamers, it was entirely possible to maintain solid viewership without a face cam.
Seoyeon was exceptionally skilled.
‘It’s a bit of a shame, though.’
Hayun clicked her tongue.
That overwhelming appearance.
Honestly, with looks like that, she could probably just turn on the stream and breathe, and people would still watch.
But if she didn’t want to, there was nothing he could do.
Streaming was all about personal choice, after all.
‘Her voice is amazing too.’
Fortunately, Seoyeon’s voice matched her appearance.
It was incredibly feminine—so soft and delicate that melodic was the only way to describe it.
She could probably gain a huge following just by doing ASMR content.
‘Oh, in that case…’
Hayun clapped her hands together.
A beautiful voice.
Uncomfortable showing her face.
There was one option even better than a no-cam stream.
“How about trying VTubing?”
