Chapter 241: Petunia Titi (5)
by Afuhfuihgs
“But Master-nim. Even if you use hypnosis like that, it’s obvious the elf will eventually notice, isn’t it? Wouldn’t it be better to just make her have a lewd dream from the start?”
Petunia Titi wasn’t a fool, so if the same situation repeated, it was only natural she’d notice. But Evan shook his head at Sophia’s question. Then, tapping his own head lightly, he said this.
“The important thing isn’t not getting caught, but whether Petunia Titi can make a rational judgment after getting caught. Think about it. Let’s say we made her have a lewd, messy sex dream with me. Then, as soon as she wakes up, what would this elf think? ‘Oh, it’s too embarrassing, I need to cool my head in my room for a bit!’ Would she think that? Or would she think the Incubus and Succubus were pulling their tricks, and then, getting all worked up, do something rash?”
Sophia shook her head. Petunia Titi, even in Sophia’s eyes, was quite the emotional person. Presenting her with such an extreme situation would likely lead her to take extreme action and completely flip the script. In the worst-case scenario, she might abruptly shoot an arrow and kill someone in the mansion, or escape without a trace, weakening their forces.
“But conversely, if she woke up having only had a ‘pleasant’ dream she can’t remember, feeling only a vague emotional attraction, would Petunia Titi take immediate action? It’s too ambiguous a situation to get angry about, right? It could just be that she slept well, or maybe over several days she’s genuinely developed feelings for me – we can’t know. It’s also too vague to confront us about.”
Sophia imagined Petunia Titi getting angry, thinking, ‘To make me have a pleasant dream! I can’t forgive this!’ It was such an absurd scene that laughter burst out naturally. Elena and Isabel, perhaps having similar thoughts, let out little puffs of breath here and there.
“What I want is for Petunia Titi to make a rational decision at this ambiguous point. For starters, Petunia Titi doesn’t trust us at all, right? Like how she’s always going on about ‘I love you, Wolf’, or how last time she suddenly started spewing bullshit and got angry at me. So why does she stay? Why is Petunia Titi tied down here under the guise of an alliance, unable to trust us, yet still helped us defeat Mobius?”
Isabel lifted her head and said.
“Isn’t it because of a sense of responsibility?”
Evan patted her head, and Isabel, like a happy cat, rubbed her head against his hand and smiled. From the side, Taffy’s mumble, ‘I knew that too,’ could be heard.
“That’s right. It’s because of responsibility. Her kind nature, believing she has some responsibility for the actions of other heroes after defeating the Demon King as part of the hero party, and her lingering attachment to Wolf are what help maintain our alliance. It’s something she can’t do alone.”
If she could have done it alone, Petunia Titi would never have helped Evan. But she knew that only when someone pushed her could her arrows pierce her comrades.
“So, even with this sinister incident, Petunia Titi won’t try to break the alliance with us. Because she herself isn’t sure. Instead, she’ll look for another way.”
Elena asked.
“Another way?”
“I’m thinking of moving where I sleep.”
Hearing my statement, Evan’s face changed strangely. His eyes darted around as if flustered, and then, showing a reluctant smile, he asked me again.
“Why all of a sudden?”
“While having sex with women all day, you ask ‘why?’?”
When I made that remark, Sophia’s laughter was heard from behind. Evan sat there blankly, looking like he’d been hit, then blinked and said.
“No, well… I’m sorry I couldn’t be more considerate about the noise, but where do you plan to sleep?”
Seeing his flustered face, I could be sure I had landed a hit. Anyway, this alliance was only meant to last until Wolf was defeated. No matter how handsome he was, how captivating his lips, or how much his eyes sparkled like a lake, Evan could never be my partner.
I erased the fleeting thoughts about his appearance from my mind and then shouted.
“What business is it of yours? I’ll come on time for training, so don’t interfere.”
And I turned and left. Evan was still sitting there pitifully, and I thought he was a little pathetic.
“Aaaargh!”
Trying to erase the nonsensical thoughts that popped into my head once again, I scratched my head vigorously and jumped onto my bed. Then I packed my things and found the place I would stay.
If demons were going to come find me every night to work their magic, all I had to do was go to a place they absolutely couldn’t enter. A place where priests, the natural enemies of demons, always resided, and which was filled with terrifying holy relics.
There was only one such place.
“She’ll move where she sleeps. To a temple, or perhaps a completely remote cabin. Somewhere like that. Petunia Titi has no option to run away. That would be abandoning her responsibility.”
Sylvia asked.
“But couldn’t she just get really angry and try to escape?”
Evan nodded at her words and said.
“In that case, we’ll just have to catch her and brainwash her. After all, we can’t fight alongside a comrade who doesn’t trust us. We did our best to show trust, but Petunia Titi broke that trust first, didn’t she?”
Milia nodded and said.
“So, are you going to contact the priestess named Lumia?”
Evan nodded at her words and added.
“Just in case. We need to contact places like the surrounding magic towers and knight orders through the academy too. She won’t be staying at a simple village inn. Rumors would spread immediately, defeating the purpose of moving her sleeping place.”
Isabel said.
“So, are you putting her on a wanted list at the temples?”
“Yeah, and I’ll ask them to dispatch Lorena to this region. Petunia Titi doesn’t know Lorena’s face.”
I had heard rumors that the priestess Ernrich Lumia was a servant of a demon. But no matter how much of a servant she was, could she predict my movements after moving so spontaneously like this? Even if they urgently sent a letter to Ithaca, where Ernrich Lumia was, I planned to keep moving from temple to temple for lodging.
No matter how formidable a succubus and incubus were, barging into a temple suddenly was clearly a daunting task.
Even for a highly respected priestess, in a chaotic situation like this, she couldn’t issue an order to expel or mistreat an innocent elf arranging lodging at a local temple.
I felt like praising myself for a plan that even I thought was perfect and caught everyone off guard. Now, Evan would have no choice but to maintain a proper alliance relationship, whimpering with those sea-like eyes.
“Ah…”
Shaking off the strange thoughts that arose once again, I grinned. Seeing my bright expression, the temple priests seemed to feel better too, and said with cheerful faces.
“Oh my, welcome. What brings you here?”
“I came to stay for one night. Is that okay?”
“Ah, yes. Of course! We welcome travelers. However, we ask for a small donation, and meals are limited to wine and bread, but would that be alright?”
“I don’t mind.”
In small villages, temples often doubled as inns. I paid an appropriate donation and then threw myself into the room the priest guided me to. The hard bed, the kind practitioners might use, was bothersome, but not enough to keep me from sleeping.
Knock knock knock
“Who is it?”
“Dinner is served.”
The person who entered after I opened the door was a pretty-looking woman. She had black hair and bright yellow eyes that contrasted with her white clerical robe, and her tanned skin revealed her vitality. Her figure, which couldn’t be hidden even by her ample robe, made me think that the moment she fell into Evan’s trap, she’d end up like the other women in the mansion.
“Do you live here?”
The woman shook her head, perhaps flustered by my question, and said.
“Huh? Ah, no. I’m from Poar?”
“Then go back to your hometown. It’s dangerous here.”
“Huh?”
The woman could only reply ‘Huh?’ in a flustered voice. I held her hand tightly and spoke. Seeing the calluses on her hand, I wondered if she originally worked as a farmer. It was to the point where I thought she might have become quite a capable swordmaster if she had wielded a sword instead.
“Ah, anyway. It’s dangerous here for someone like you, so stay as far away as possible. Got it?”
“Ah, well… I-I’ll think about it.”
The woman nodded in a flustered voice, but it was fortunate that she seemed to understand my words at least.
After she left, for the first time in a long while, I could sleep deeply without worrying about demonic brainwashing.
Temples like this basically have charms attached that repel demons.
Thinking about it again, truly it was a perfect plan.
Dark night.
Confirming the elf’s soft breathing, Lorena dashed into the hallway.
Then, stealthily emerging into the temple hallway, she opened the locked back door. An amulet was attached to the door, preventing demons from tampering with it, but if someone opened it from the inside, things changed.
Milia and Sophia, who had come running after receiving her message, gave Lorena a thumbs up, and Lorena, blushing, said.
“Please send my regards to Evan.”
