Chapter 24: VLL final (6)
by Afuhfuihgs“It’s here!!!”
“Sheen is finally unbanned. Sheen of Sheen-saeng!”
“Isn’t there a saying that Sheen-saeng with Sheen is pro-level?”
“That’s right. Honestly, what is Sheen? Everyone knows he’s not a carry champion. But Sheen-saeng, he carries with it.”
[Ah… this heavy and cool feeling, it’s time to return to Sheen master, Sheen-saeng]
[It’s here… it’s here… it’s here… it’s here… it’s here…]
[Run, run, run, run, run, run]
[? Is it really okay to unban it?]
[It’s the last game anyway, it’s right to just unban it and use 3 bans on mid to eliminate any variables]
“I expect them to use 3 bans on mid to eliminate the mid carry potential.”
“I wonder how they plan to deal with Sheen-saeng’s Sheen after unbanning it.”
“Ah, Gnar. I guess they think they can win because of the skill difference?”
“It looks like they’re thinking of harassing him in the side lane and laning phase.”
[?]
[Gnar, really?]
[Zenith is good at Gnar, though]
“Since Sheen is unbanned, they picked a versatile pick for the top lane.”
“I wonder what other cards they have.”
“I think the bot duo will probably be lowered, and it’s time to complete the top side.”
[They’re picking Lee Sin for jungle again]
[Sigh]
[Stop playing Lee Sin, you’re not even good at it]
“The jungle is Lee Sin and Viego again this game.”
“They’re good cards for filling up AD.”
“And for mid, Para’s Azir and Seong-ho’s Leblanc have appeared.”
“I think both teams have a balanced top-side composition.”
[Can Para even play Azir?]
[She carried one game with it before]
[Carried? She got destroyed and then won in the late game because of item scaling, is that a carry?]
[But they won, right?]
[If you keep Cursing Para, I’ll send a complaint to the legal team]
[Go ahead and dance LOL]
[They’re amateurs, what legal team LOL]
[Yeah, Para’s mom is a lawyer~ Expect your complaints, you punks ^^]
[Ah… so it’s just ^getting carried by Han Byeo-ri’s viewers because of her looks]
[Stop feeding the trolls]
“For the bot lane, they picked their confident picks.”
“Eugene’s Kai’Sa is also a masterpiece.”
“On the other hand, Count’s Ashe is also unbanned. Count is also known as the God of Accuracy.”
“That’s right. When Count’s Ashe is out, the top side always has to be wary of her ultimate, the Enchanted Crystal Arrow. He’s a player with great accuracy.”
[God of Firing vs. God of Accuracy]
[Why did they unban Eugene’s Kai’Sa?]
[Sheen and he were both terrible for 3 sets in a row LOL It’s more over the top to unban Ashe]
[It’ll be fun this game for sure]
[They all picked their confident picks]
[Can they withstand Ashe and Seraphine’s laning phase? I think Eugene will just get ganked and destroyed]
[Eugene’s Kai’Sa is really a masterpiece, stop being delusional]
“This game will be very interesting too.”
“Certainly, since VLL is a tournament where high-ranking users gather, high-level matches have been played. But isn’t this final also at an all-time high?”
“Even though we always say it’s an all-time high every time, having these fun matches is the charm of LOL tournaments, I think.”
“I really think today’s match could be considered a pro match.”
“Yes, if both teams play at their peak, I think it could be a legendary match on par with the LCK.”
“Then, they say the match is ready. Let’s watch!”
TEAM – Talent
TOP: Sheen
JG: Lee Sin
MID: Azir
AD: Kai’Sa
SUP: Rakan
VS
TEAM – We’re Good at LOL Even When We’re Retired
TOP: Gnar
JG: Viego
MID: LeBlanc
AD: Ashe
SUP: Seraphine
“Is Gnar okay? I think it’ll be tough.”
“Who am I? The man who reached 2500 points with Sheen in that era.”
“Hey, when are you talking about? I don’t think Seo-ha even played LOL back then.”
Even though Sheen was unbanned, the opponent picked Gnar.
In the early stages, he’s vulnerable to ganks, but his basic laning is strong because he can lock down and beat up melee champions, and in the late game, he becomes a kiting monster.
Moreover, if he fills up his rage gauge and transforms, he becomes difficult to catch. He’s a versatile pick, but he’s difficult because he can’t make any mistakes.
“Everyone, do you know what comes out when I pick Sheen in solo queue?”
The reason Sheen said he could win against Gnar was simple.
In solo queue, even more difficult champions came out.
Vayne, Heimerdinger, Swain, Teemo, Kennen, etc. He was saying it was easier than those champions.
‘It’s true that Gnar seems easier compared to those champions…’
Our team’s strategy for this game was to play around the bot lane.
Honestly, mid could be solved on its own due to the skill difference.
Since top picked Sheen, it was obvious that it would be pushed in. The strategy was to support the bot lane as much as possible and rely on Eugene’s Kai’Sa’s carry potential.
“Finally, a game where the prince is supported.”
“Please correct that to ‘support’.”
“It’s not something a support should say.”
While the bot duo was bickering, the minions arrived at their respective lanes.
From here on, if we made even one mistake, the championship would be over. We had to maximize our tension and focus.
[By my command!]
I summoned a sand soldier using the W skill, which was forcibly leveled up at level 1.
My role in the early game was to not fall behind in mid while avoiding ganks as much as possible.
To do that, I had to force the opponent to make a choice.
‘What will you do?’
As we farmed and reached level 3, it was time for the opponent to trade.
However, my position was behind the minions, at the end of the sand soldier’s range.
The opponent could either push the lane or trade with me.
Basically, the Azir-LeBlanc matchup was considered advantageous for LeBlanc.
If LeBlanc used her skills to trade, Azir had to use his survival and shield skill, E, to trade as well.
But if he did that, he would be vulnerable to the opponent’s jungler’s gank.
To prevent that, he had to make the opponent use W for movement, not for dealing damage.
‘I thought so.’
To gain priority, the opponent used W forward to trade with me, but if I didn’t take W damage, I was at an advantage.
[Conquer!]
I used W at the location where the opponent would return and chased him to trade. As a result, the opponent’s health was lower.
When I checked the minimap for top, it seemed that he had landed a taunt on Gnar, and the trade didn’t look bad.
We continued the laning phase without any major events.
[An ally has been slain.]
With the bot duo’s sigh, the ADC, Eugene, died.
It was Viego’s gank, aimed at the timing when they were pushing the lane to go back.
Since Kai’Sa doesn’t have a clear escape skill in the early stages, it was an unavoidable result.
“It’s a shame, but let’s think about getting kills in the next dragon fight.”
“I didn’t use my ultimate this time. I was going to die anyway.”
“Can you push the bot lane and help with the dragon?”
“It’s a bit ambiguous to push first, but I’ll try to push.”
It was time for the third dragon to spawn, a little over 17 minutes in.
Currently, the opponent had used Ashe and a well-fed Viego’s priority to take two dragons. We had to fight for this dragon.
While I was clearing the lane at the spot where the bot turret had disappeared and moving up.
[Ahhh~♪]
A song started to play, and Seraphine’s ultimate came flying towards me from the bush in front of the dragon pit.
If I died, we couldn’t even dream of a teamfight, so I tried to dodge it, but.
[Winter’s bite cannot be avoided!]
Ashe’s ultimate flew in succession to the spot where I used my E skill to move.
‘Did they predict that I would be here from mid?’
I thought I was dead, but at that moment.
“I have ult!”
A purple shield appeared above my head, and Sheen appeared, blocking the enemies in front.
[This is not the time yet!]
Sheen’s barrier appeared at the same time.
Since the opposing team had a high proportion of champions who relied on auto-attacks, most of the damage was blocked by Sheen’s W skill, Will of the Blades, and they couldn’t catch me.
Then, what I had to do was.
“I’ll push them over!”
I had to push the opposing team, who were focused on me, towards our team to create an advantageous teamfight.
[Shurima will last forever!]
As soon as I pushed the enemies over, Fpot’s Rakan used his ultimate with flash and charged into the enemy’s formation.
Fpot used his saved W skill to knock up the opponent’s Ashe, creating a perfect opportunity for Kai’Sa to freely deal damage.
[Last enemy slain!]
Eugene finished off Ashe and Gnar, who were trying to escape with his ultimate, killing all the enemies and creating a huge victory.
“Wow, Sheen’s shield was this big?”
In a situation where I should have died, I was able to survive thanks to Sheen’s unexpectedly large shield.
When I asked in wonder.
“If you increase your ultimate’s shield health, it goes up a lot. I went back and bought two Kindlegems and used my ultimate.”
When I pressed the Tab key to check the item window, I saw that Sheen had two Kindlegems.
I didn’t know there was such a mechanism.
Honestly, I didn’t know much about it since it was a champion that wasn’t often seen in tournaments.
“We’re not done yet, everyone stay calm.”
“Okay, let’s focus.”
“Gnar is fed, so don’t get caught.”
