Chapter 20 : One issue swallows another
by fnovelpia
When I changed from Seo Min-jun to Seo Min-ah.
The first thing I checked that day was my talent for streaming.
Singing [★★★☆☆] Drawing [★☆☆☆☆] Dancing [★★★★★] Gaming [★★★★☆]
The most prominent talents that stand out in streaming.
Unfortunately, the most highly valued trait for a virtual streamer—voice—was just average.
Ah, but that’s not the important part right now.
Seo Min-ah inherited almost all of Seo Min-jun’s abilities.
There might be some balance adjustments due to the gender change, but anyway, that’s how it was.
Which means, even when I was a guy, I was good at dancing.
Actually, it wasn’t limited to dancing—anything physical, I could do pretty well.
Soccer, baseball, badminton, swimming, and so on.
So up until my first year of high school, I even participated in sports clubs, but had to quit due to a sudden downturn in family finances.
Sports take more money than you’d think.
Huh? What am I trying to say, you ask?
Ahh, you fools.
You still don’t get it? What I’m doing right now is bragging.
Huh? I’m not just good at dancing, I’m good at a variety of sports and generally anything physical.
So hurry up and donate some candy, you rookies.
- Lol look at this wild no-training concept
[VirtualOtaku just donated 100 candies.]
- This person is really good at streaming
- Money-hungry Seo-ah is online
- But Seo-ah, if you’re this good at dancing, why didn’t you show it before? Have you been neglecting your fans? Lol
[70PyungHome just donated 300 candies.]
- You’re pretty good at dancing, haha. What’s the usual rate for things like dance commissions?
The chat was exploding with reactions.
I took a short breath and subtly lifted the full-tracking gear covering my face to check my positioning.
Whew! Thankfully, I hadn’t moved much this time.
Since my room is so small, I even moved the bed out of the way just to fully use the tracking gear.
Even so, I still occasionally bump into the chair or wall, and it always gives me a fright.
I put the gear back on and started responding to the heated chat messages one by one.
“Wooooow! That was amazing, Seo-ah. Wait, did you maybe join a dance club? This isn’t normal talent. Seriously, that’s one of the top three Zero Two dances I’ve ever seen…”
“Excuse me, Yo-chan. That’s a bit rude, isn’t it? Can’t you see I’m communicating with viewers? Oh! Thank you so much for the 300 candies, SpicySeoAhFan. Heart, heart, mwah!”
- No training, no training, no training!
- This back-and-forth is insane lol. Look at how she’s keeping up with Sayo, who’s got 10 years of experience.
- Wow.. is Seo-ah always this good? I’ve only read posts about her on the forums, first time watching her stream, and it’s amazing.
Before I knew it, the chat in Sayo’s room had surpassed ten thousand viewers, and they were cheering me on.
Yeah. This is what streaming is about. This is YAS.
“Ahem, Seo-ah, is it okay if we start a conversation now?”
“Oh! It’s my favorite Yo-chan in the whole world. What’s up? Feel free to speak your mind.”
“… Well, it’s just that…”
- This is the first time I’ve seen Sayo lost for words
- She’s so shameless it’s actually hilarious lol
- Seo-ah… a monster born from streaming…
- Let’s try a different dance besides Zero Two lol
“Originally, we were supposed to go around the streams today, do introductions and such. But in your case, Seo-ah, you just jumped straight into VRChat. So we’d like to hear a simple self-introduction or some unique talent you’d like to showcase. Would that be alright?”
“Of course. Absolutely fine.”
Looks like Sayo liked my streaming style enough to give me a chance to showcase myself in front of over ten thousand viewers.
If I miss this opportunity, I don’t deserve to be a streamer.
Without a hint of hesitation, I stepped forward.
Flowing jet-black hair that reached slightly past my shoulders.
And a cute anime girl avatar with ruby-like sparkling red eyes.
The outfit was a clean school look, based on a white shirt and black skirt.
‘If only I had more time, I could’ve revealed a different outfit.’
I had some outfits in mind for situations like this, but due to lack of time and money, they were pushed down the priority list.
It’s unfortunate, but it can’t be helped.
Still, the viewers’ reactions weren’t bad.
A lot of them were comparing my avatar’s quality to those of other virtual streamers they saw today.
Since many people were seeing virtual streamers for the first time, they might not have noticed individual details.
But as Sayo rotated through different streams today, the audience developed an eye for virtual avatars.
‘I didn’t pay a premium to a future star designer for nothing. Nowhere values appearance like the streaming world does.’
There’s an upcoming virtual idol audition.
Even if you can’t sing, sometimes just having a pretty avatar is enough to become a fan favorite.
I’ll dominate even those positions.
“Hello. I’m Seo-ah, the only pure-blood virtual streamer of PangaeaTV, debuted on September 10. Nice to meet you, dear viewers!”
I stop mid-sentence and subtly move toward the wall.
As I interrupt my greeting and move, Sayo’s avatar follows with a puzzled look.
“Uh, uh?”
Then, suddenly startled, they back away.
Why? Because I randomly did a handstand.
Ugh, even though I practiced beforehand, it’s still really hard.
Because the equipment limits my field of vision in real life, I instinctively shrink back out of fear of hitting the wall.
But this time, I go for it boldly.
Remember, over ten thousand people are watching right now.
I’m not missing this chance to etch the existence of “me” into their minds.
- What the heck lol how did she even do that?
- Wait, she’s not even a muscular guy and she’s doing a full prostration? That’s insane.
- Uh, uh? I see it! It’s white!
- Judge, I have absolutely no relation to the above comment. clink clink
- Whoa, this is virtual! Is virtual divine?
- What am I even watching? What am I even watching? What am I even watching?
A shockingly bold greeting beyond imagination.
How will people react to a virtual streamer doing a sudden full prostration?
I don’t know about anything else, but one thing was certain.
“For the time being, I’m monopolizing all virtual-related buzz.”
What did I show today?
Broadcasting sense, dancing, avatar, and impact.
I nailed them all without missing a single thing.
The toxic users who had sneakily started a masked “Gald Cup” on FM community forums comparing new virtual streamers over the past two days.
You won’t see them around for a while after this stream.
Well, unless they’re the type who enjoys being downvoted and cursed at in the comments.
“Umm… Are you okay?”
“Yes! Whew! Back in the day, I used to do that for five minutes straight, but it’s not easy now that I’m older. I wish I could be two years younger.”
Complaining about age in front of someone born in ’91!
Once again silencing Sayo, I raise the energy and continue my introduction.
“I’m 23! Born in 2000, officially certified through Yoonseo Law. I love games and love Candy donations even more.
What I hate are refund DMs for Candy donations. Those people go straight to the blacklist, so don’t message me.”
- Yoonseo Law is absolute truth.
- She’s so openly money-obsessed, it’s actually charming lol
- If this is what virtual is, I might actually watch.
- It’s like a no-cam streamer but upgraded…
- Seo-ah is a super famous money-chaser on PangaeaTV.
Backed by positive viewer reactions, I bow properly this time.
“Then, once again, please take good care of me. Come watch the stream often, oppas ♥”
Wink~!
A black-haired, red-eyed anime girl finishes with a wink.
Cheers echoed through the chat window.
Ah, yes. This is what streaming is all about.
I was definitely the star of the day, and I truly believed it.
“A transfer? That’s a sensitive topic, so I’ll think about it more before making a decision.
It’s hard to say anything right now since I’m not alone in this.”
- Lena Lena-tang~
- Is she really that famous voice actress? lol
[HeatwaveSlashMania has donated 100 Candies.]
- Can we get a Heatwave Slash?
[HeatwaveSlashMania has been forcibly removed.]
- Lena Universe is a super famous corporate virtual group on RabbitTV.
- They say they have over 30 virtual streamers under them. lol
- So, are they all transferring together now?
“Still, I’ll think about it positively. Honestly, I was really surprised.
I thought PangaeaTV had a bunch of weird rumors and was super anti-virtual,
but I didn’t expect more than ten thousand people to welcome me like this. Thank you so much.”
The day I was sure I would be the main character.
A bigger issue swallowed mine whole.
It was the arrival of PangaeaTV’s first virtual corporate group.
