Chapter 20: I shared so many gossip about her with my friends that i cant even remember

My life, or perhaps my relationship with Park Ahyoung—or maybe both—began to unravel the day she showed up with two lines on a pregnancy test.

“W-What is this…?” I asked, my voice filled with disbelief.

She gave me a coy smile. “What do you think? We’re having a baby.”

    Sh*t.

That was my only thought. We’d barely used protection, so it was bound to happen eventually.

But I wasn’t prepared for it to be so sudden. I’d been feeling off lately, but…

Seeing my stunned silence, she asked, “Yunho, what’s wrong? Are you sick?”
    “Uh, no… Just…”

I didn’t see the manipulative glint in her eyes then. I was too busy panicking about how I was going to raise a child.

    **

    “Dude, that b*tch is crazy!”

I met with a friend at a bar near my apartment and vented about the situation. His reaction was what I needed to hear.

“Right? I’m not the one who’s crazy?”
    “Nah, she’s got a reputation.”

His validation felt good, and I drank more than I usually did, ranting about her until everything went dark.

    **

I woke up with a pounding headache, in my own bed.

    “How… How did I get home…?”
    “Around 4 a.m.”

Startled by the voice, I looked around. Park Ahyoung was sitting beside me, her face a mask of anger.

“You went to the bar last night, right? You said some nasty things about me.”
    “Uh… yeah…?”
“Oh, you don’t remember? Is that it?”

She played a recording on her phone.

It was me, spewing hateful words about her, calling her names, insulting her and her family.

    “Ah, Ahyoung… I… I didn’t mean it… I was drunk…”

    Slap

She slapped me across the face. It was the first time I’d ever been hit by a woman.

I held my cheek, speechless. I felt I deserved it.

Even thinking that was probably wrong.

    **

After that, she began to take advantage of me.

At first, her requests were understandable. She was pregnant and uncomfortable. She’d ask me to do chores, claiming the baby prevented her from doing them herself. But then, her demands escalated, crossing the line.

I complied, feeling guilty for the things I’d said.

    Then, one day—

    “Yunho, let’s break up.”
    “Wh-What…?”
    “I have a new boyfriend~”

She smirked. “Besides, I don’t like people who badmouth me~”

Then, she handed me legal papers.

“And this~ is for all the nasty things you said. I’m suing you for defamation.”

    **

I lost the lawsuit and 80% of my savings.

I lost the will to live.
