Chapter 2: Senet windsor (1)

I looked at myself in the mirror.

No matter how I looked, it was strange.

Silver hair reaching my shoulders and clear blue eyes.

A beautiful girl whose bangs completely covered her eyes, making her look gloomy, but who revealed a cute face when swept to the side.

My name, in this form, is Sennet Windsor, the eldest daughter of the Viscount Windsor family, with a younger brother one year my junior.

That was the brief information about myself in the mirror.

But the real me didn’t have such a grand name, or such a cute appearance, nor a sibling relationship with a single younger brother.

Originally, I was just an ordinary person.

I had finished elementary, middle, and high school, and was currently a university student on the verge of graduation.

I was born to a very ordinary office worker father and a mother who ran a snack bar, and I had one younger sister who would soon graduate high school and become a university student.

All I remembered was that my job was already secured, so I was leisurely just fulfilling attendance requirements.

After that, my memory was of my sister wanting ice cream, so I went outside, got caught in a truck rollover accident, and was hit head-on by the truck as it tipped over…

    Ah. I must have died.

    “Haaah… Damn it…”

I let out a deep sigh.

This appearance, name, and family in the mirror.

I didn’t know any of it, but it seemed I had transmigrated into another world.

The reason I didn’t think it was reincarnation was because I had no memory whatsoever of the ‘me’ in the mirror.

I learned the name through Isellia, who summoned what I presumed were maids or ladies-in-waiting and then dismissed me, and I only definitively realized this world was different from my own when I returned to the mansion in the waiting carriage.

Yes, since I died absurdly, I suppose living life again isn’t so bad.

I’d encountered transmigration and reincarnation into other worlds many times in web novels, but actually becoming the person involved was surprisingly moving.

    “If only it wasn’t a gender swap…”

Feeling the size of my chest, which was inappropriate for my age, made me sigh again.

Why a girl, of all things, and not a boy?

Anyway, besides becoming a girl, there was one more problem: this world.

    Of all places, this world.

    The world inside a novel.

And what’s more, it was the world of a foolish novel written by my younger sister.

    The title was Blooming Lover.

It was a mediocre novel, submitted out of boredom, but it gained some popularity and managed to avoid being a complete flop.

If it hadn’t been for the drill-haired lady, Isellia, I wouldn’t have realized any of this.

The story began with the commoner heroine, Rubia, entering the academy.

In this world, commoners usually couldn’t wield magic, but uniquely, Rubia not only awakened her magic in childhood but also wielded light magic, a rare attribute, eventually becoming the Saintess of Light by the end.

In any case, for the utterly ordinary commoner Rubia, the academy, attended only by the crème de la crème of noble young masters and ladies, was a difficult place to adapt to.

Nevertheless, due to her uniquely kind personality, Rubia made a few friends and maintained good grades by diligently pursuing her studies.

The problem was that from the entrance ceremony, she became entangled with the Crown Prince, as well as the son of the Knight Commander, the Prime Minister’s son, and the Archmage’s son, leading to her being systematically bullied by jealous noble offspring.

Furthermore, nobles wouldn’t look kindly on a commoner achieving better grades than them, so bullying was inevitable.

And the main culprit behind that bullying was none other than Isellia Saluut.

The drill-haired lady who had dismissed me.

Ironically, due to such bullying, she ended up forming deeper connections with the main male leads, like the Crown Prince, leading to her pairing with the Crown Prince in the main story, and with other male leads in the side stories.

However, Isellia, who obstructed and tormented Rubia until the very end, eventually even threatened Rubia’s life.

In the main story, with the Crown Prince’s help, Isellia is subdued and banished from the country, and her followers are also punished.

However, in the side stories, only the role of the Crown Prince is taken by other male leads, and the development is identical, which led to a less than favorable reaction from readers.

Moreover, having Isellia as the villain in all side stories was a bit much.

While it was understandable for the Crown Prince in the main story, who was Isellia’s fiancé, and the Prime Minister’s son, who was Isellia’s brother, the other male leads… well.

Still, the main story seemingly ended cleanly, so the reviews were good.

Honestly, from my perspective, the title was mediocre and the content was cliché, but the writing itself was good, so it was quite popular.

Even if she was my younger sister, she was undeniably good at depicting emotions.

“By the way, the name Sennet wasn’t in the novel, was it?”

As I pondered that question, the girl in the mirror, with her bangs swept to the side, tilted her head.

She tilted her head the other way and raised each arm one by one, making me realize once again that the girl in the mirror was me.

Then I jumped in place and shook my body.

As my body swayed, my swept-aside hair fell back into place, covering both my eyes, while the soft sensation returning to my chest made me taste self-loathing, a feeling for my lost masculinity.

    “Haaah…”

This was already my third sigh.

I had often thought that it was better for women to be well-endowed, but I had never wished to become one myself.

Moreover, with my hair completely covering my eyes, making me look gloomy despite the bright hair color, I immediately understood that this character had a ‘gloomy large-breasted’ attribute.

Although I had been half-forced to read the novel, I couldn’t recall such a character.

    Yoon Sol.

That brat said it would be hard to write if she added more characters, so she’d only create a moderate number, and she always consulted me whenever she conceptualized characters, so how could I not know?

    “Ah.”

The moment that question arose, a single scene suddenly came to my vivid memory.

Isellia being judged by the Crown Prince, who held Rubia in his arms, and her followers being judged alongside her.

Specifically, one person tucked away in the corner.

The silver-haired lady with unusually long bangs that obscured her eyes.

    “It’s the same.”

Upon realizing this, I began to understand why I had been in Isellia’s garden.

I must have been a follower from this age.

    That’s what it clearly meant.

In this story, my role was an unnamed supporting villain who harassed Rubia alongside Isellia.

And at the end of the story, I would meet ruin along with the villainess young lady Isellia.

    That’s too much.

When they say ruin, it means I could even die if it’s severe, doesn’t it?

I don’t want to be ruined.

    I don’t want to die.

I died absurdly in my last life, and I can’t go through the same process in this one.

If it were a dream, I’d want to wake up, but unfortunately, I knew that was impossible.

The sensation of pulling Isellia’s drill hair had been far too vivid and realistic.

Looking at my right hand, where the lingering elasticity remained, the first thing I thought was that I simply wouldn’t become a follower of the villainess young lady Isellia.

In fact, there was a way to avoid entering the academy, but since I had already transmigrated, a desire to enjoy the main story welled up within me.

After all, I can use magic, can’t I?

I don’t know what kind of magic I can use right now, but since all students at the academy can use magic, I should enjoy what I can.

Mistilteinn Academy, where the main story begins, is the pinnacle of educational institutions in this world’s lore.

Simply being admitted is considered a tremendous honor.

Its influence is said to be so great that it includes not only high-ranking nobles but also royalty from various countries.

Given that Sennet was with Isellia in the original story, entering the academy is a foregone conclusion.

However, if I attend the academy as things are, a miserable ending awaits me.

If I keep my distance from the main characters and leisurely live my academy life, perhaps I can stay far away from ruin.

Now that I’ve left a bad impression on Isellia, it should be easier to avoid a future as her follower, and if I live as an extra supporting character without unnecessarily making enemies, I should be able to avoid ruin.

    “Alright, I’ve decided.”

Having decided on my future course of action, I solidified my resolve, but looking at the silver-haired girl in the mirror, who wore the same expression as me, made me frown.

My hair, which completely covered my eyes even without bowing my head, was quite annoying.

Should I just snip it off and make it short?

Long hair is also inconvenient for activity, so while I’m at it, I should deal with the back of my hair too.

Stepping away from the mirror, I first looked around the room.

The room was decorated in an antique and delicate manner, like a scene from a fairy tale.

In the very center, an elegant canopy bed stood, with flowing curtains cascading down on all sides.

Next to the bed was a small side table, and on it, neatly arranged, were an embroidered handkerchief, a floral teacup, and a half-read novel.

Against one wall stood a white dressing table with a mirror, neatly organized with small perfume bottles, a jewelry box, and a pearl-studded brush.

Overall, the room was based on pastel tones, exuding the neatness and elegance befitting a noble young lady.

“It doesn’t suit me at all.”

Having stated my honest impression of the room, I looked around until I found a pair of scissors suitable for cutting hair.

It was a bit disappointing that they weren’t hairdressing scissors, but since I couldn’t cut delicately with my skill anyway, I was satisfied with this.

    – Snip, snip.

First, I cut my bangs straight across.

    – Snip, snip.

And the back of my hair, just enough so it wouldn’t touch my shoulders.

    – Knock, knock, knock.

“Young lady, it is time for your meal.”

Just as I finished tidying my hair, a woman’s voice came from outside the door.

A cautious yet soft and polite voice.

Given that she called me ‘young lady,’ the person outside the door seemed to be Sennet’s maid.

It was good timing, as I was just feeling hungry.

    “I’m coming now.”

I put down the scissors and walked towards the door, my bare feet tapping against the floor.

I roughly shook off the hair with my hands and then turned the doorknob.

    “Oh, you’ve come right—”

The moment I opened the door, I saw a maid standing neatly with her hands clasped together.

Her brown hair was neatly braided down, following its soft texture, with the ends curling slightly past her shoulders towards her waist.

She wasn’t particularly adorned, but her neatness only added to her dignity.

A black maid’s uniform, a slightly faded apron, and somewhat worn shoes.

She wasn’t flashy, but exuded a graceful and refined aura.

However, contrary to that aura, her eyes were wide open, staring intently at me.

    “M-m-miss!?”

Suddenly, an unsuppressed scream burst from her lips.

Immediately, she covered her mouth with both hands and stumbled backward.

Her composed expression crumbled, and her eyes, wide open, trembled.

“W-what in the world have you done…!!”

Her scream echoed loudly once more.

    Why?
